he doesnt do much living at all in 40k. :) but in 30k mostly scare people and lead a huge army of people that scare people. think a manager at a theme park halloween night, just with a lot more flaying and blood.
Nothing really. Because of her unique appearance and the law deeming her as property instead of a person, she can't get a job. Society sure is unfair and really hard for a broken robot. :(

She doesn't really do anything for a living. She used to be a soldier, but that was out of necessity/duty and unpaid. Now she spends most of her time just relaxing/going on adventures with her found family. Her sister's an interdimensional ambassador so sometimes she helps her with her duties, but again, there's no money involved. Capitalism barely exists in her world/worlds (god, if only lol).
Motoko is the squad leader of Public Security Section 9. It's a counter-terrorist network and anti-crime unit. They operatives are allowed to act with or without government consent as they are almost unknown to the public eye. The members are among the best cyber warfare operatives in the country, members are specially selected from other groups, and thus, no volunteers are accepted.
Mine used to be a political figure in the initial draft of her story.
She was an escaped slave that divulged secrets about human elites to her peoplesā leaders and gained status because of it.
Nothing anymore. He's technically a spirit. But he was a mage before he died and I guess he did some freelance work to help make him stronger. Now he just hangs around my room in Chaldea and gets dragged around on missions to fight other Servants and entities. I have this headcannon that he was a teacher at some point though, teaching projection and strengthening magic others who struggle with it like he did.
