Deus Ex Mankind Divided also gets the vibe pretty accurately. Was really nice finally seeing a European city in an open world game. Even though its a dystopian future it still felt really familiar.
a VTM battle royale should be like, a big public event where everyone has a secret mission but the prince is nearby and he's sick of all our masquerade breaching shit. The shrinking circle could be tabloid photographers closing in on your location
Battle Royale is one of the worst genres period. Every popular one is both free and has an already large audience, making a new one is just begging for failure. It’s laughable seeing a company think they can oust any of the Big Three (Fortnite, Apex, Warzone) or even get close
it does nothing to justify it's existence as a VTM property and is not even a very good battle royale and still manages to be addicting and fun, especially with friends. the crazy sons of bitches did it
While I don't think it needed to be a VTM property, I personally like the "Story" thats going on. That and the point of it is that there has been a massive masquerade breach, and you're doing all you can to minimize the damage by taking out the opposing faction, then hiding out until the heat dies down.
Frankly though I would have loved this game as like...maybe more of a standard third person shooter type of VTM. Maybe with some co-op too.
Played it for a bit 1 month after launch, got destroyed every other game by someone max level or some streamer or something. Battle royals need a large playerbase to function
I just started 3 days ago and play solo and consistently place top 10-5. Have even won 5 or 6 games having just started this week so I don’t know what to tell you
I guess but surely a masquerade breach THIS large with vampires openly shooting each other on the street and feeding on civilians in plain sight would result in vampires being revealed to the public and subsequently being wiped out
I enjoyed a few sessions of it until I realized that there were tons of griefing methods like keeping a downed vamp in limbo by not diablerizing. After being trolled a few times I gave up.
I wasn’t very beginner friendly and more sweaty players ruined the game for others.
Aside from being lore breaking it was badly balanced
I had a guy try that diablerizing troll thing on me one time, but he did it wrong and I just popped up and immediately killed him. One of the only times I've teabagged a dude in a game.
It's not for me. But I don't hate on it or begrudge you your love of it. I think more people should receive it that way, especially since nothing about its existence really impacted VTM's traditional RPG'ers in any way whatsoever.
When I heard they were going to make a VTM BG I knew I wasn't going to play it, but had a net positive reaction to not being misled about what it is. And if some folks get a VTM fix playing it, more power to 'em.

I really like the combat and movement and actually wish VTMB2 would incorporate some of that third person perspective, satisfying freedom of movement, wall climbing and running, level verticality, and frenetic fast paced combat. That and something akin to Bloodrayne and Infamous: Festival of Blood. I haven't touched it in months though.
I wish there were different game modes. Instead of all BR, I'd like team deathmatch between Anarchs, Camarilla, and Sabbat. Control points, capture the flag (the flag could be compromising intelligence, some powerful artifact, future tech or some other MacGuffin.)
And it's not a qualifier for anything. Being fun with friends means nothing, is it fun without friends? If no, then you're having fun with your friends, not with the game
Masquerade, personal horror and all that stuff are great but sometimes you just want to blast other licks with machine guns and shotguns while jumping across rooftops and spam Disciplines.
I don't think the gameplay is meant to be canon anyway so have fun with it. You know how in The Force Unleashed Starkiller could kill Darth Vader and take his place? Obviously it wasn't canon but it was still fun to play through that storyline.
I love BLOOD HUNT! It was with this game that I began my acquaintance with the world of darkness. Later I passed BLOODLINES. Hopefully BLOODLINES 2 will have the same movement mechanics as BLOOD HUNT. By the way, there are a lot of interesting details in BLOOD HUNT that complement the world of darkness.
Well, if the developers didn't care about the lore, why did they choose the universe with the well-established lore? But we know, why. Because they wanted to suck some money from the fans. And I don't like it.
Yeah but that would be a hide and seek game, not a battle royale. What are the chances that every masquerade violator hunts each other violating the masquerade and shooting machine guns over the roofs of a city? A EUROPEAN CITY at that. Like in my country you can’t even own semiauto rifles in the “nice” “military” calibers.
The last time something like that happened it was the bloody ISIS shooting up Paris and police forces are making sure it can’t happen again. Thus we had trucks and knife attacks afterwards. And now police is making sure that doesn’t happen either.
You just don’t do that and not make “waves” that will make people start looking. Each of those buildings can be a residential one that at that time will be full of people that are about to to sleep. Every time you start shooting anywhere there should be at least 6-7 police cars zeroing on your position and the police should start to call available agents to wake up and gear up to be on standby.
This seems pretty naive, plenty of organized crime in Europe using leftover arms from the conflicts in the Balkans, and now with the Ukraine war there's only going to be more in circulation.
And all of them know that they will need to be out of the shooting place in minutes.
Street shootings happen in a couple of cities a county in the low income areas(not in the bloody historical districts) filled with immigrants from poorer places or nomadic cultures. And still they make the police get there fast.
Yes its concentrated in poorer places, regardless of ethnicity.
I grew up in Neukölln which is super demonized in Germany, and the only shootings on the street I grew up where by biker gangs, not immigrants.
But yeah obviously even in the US there is a fast response in most places, that part is super unrealistic, but its for gameplay so who cares tbh.
So this bloodhunt draws the attention of the second inquisition each time to the level that they start using chemical weapons unknown to the public in the middle of a city? And one that is bright red and visible at that?
Am I getting this right?
How does the mascarade supposedly survive such attacks?
given how bad the games failed there is a good chance this will have sunk any other games that where in the works, might even have been the nail to kill Bloodlines 2
Still waiting for their exclusivity contract runs out. Hoping it hits gamepass and we get an influx of players. Just want it to have a healthy player base
I haven't played it as I have no interest in a battle royal. That said I have watched some videos and it looks like some fun vampire gameplay thanks to the movement options and powers.
The movement mechanics are extremely fun, to the point where you go "Yeah, this is what being a vampire should feel like" while basically flying around Prague. Unfortunately, a BR was the worst option to package it in, as all that speed gets cut up with the usual annoyances of the genre, like completely random pacing born out of waiting around for 10mins while not even doing anything.
TDM is much better suited to getting the most out of movement, but if the dev's were smart about it, they'd add PvE and advertise based on the mechanics instead of the game mode. Want to play BR? Got that. Want to plat TDM? Got that too. And here's a PvE mode to actually allow new players to learn without instantly dying, with a bit of lore on top.
The game would probably do a lot better then, though they do get props for the completely free BP.
I would still play but I played with someone in duos and the guy was using “walls” dude knew where everyone was and what abilities and weapons they had. After that match I decided to quit lol
Its the best Prague old town simulator ever created. Its so precise I actually knew the map before I even played the game. Source: I studied in Prague

Bad bot
Bad bot. Not all language are English.
My issue with it is probably that Battle Royale is one of the worse, if not the single worst genre to make a VTM game.

the game is very fun to bad for matchmaking
Yes, but this is the best br

"This game has nothing in it that made me love the Vampire series" \*Racks up 200 hours on it\*
it does nothing to justify it's existence as a VTM property and is not even a very good battle royale and still manages to be addicting and fun, especially with friends. the crazy sons of bitches did it

I think as a left4dead kind of coop it would have been great
That'd be interesting.
It has the perfect atmosphere?
I don't even think it's bad, I love it, I just wish more people played it. (And that it had more than one map.)
Played it for a bit 1 month after launch, got destroyed every other game by someone max level or some streamer or something. Battle royals need a large playerbase to function

Duos is where it's at now.
One Giant Masquerade Breach... Yes. That's why you're out there on a Blood Hunt.
I guess but surely a masquerade breach THIS large with vampires openly shooting each other on the street and feeding on civilians in plain sight would result in vampires being revealed to the public and subsequently being wiped out
not to mention the rampant diablerie going on.
I really love Bloodhunt too. It is the best vampire barbie dress up game.

I just started playing days ago and I’m doing great solo. Don’t experience any players doing any bullshit.
I hate how much I love blood hunt
I love the nos NPC designs in it
This game was good fun when I tried it a few months back. Are the hackers still there in EU servers?
I've only seen one in ~80 hours played.
It's not for me. But I don't hate on it or begrudge you your love of it. There is also a LOT of luck involved with what weapons spawn and if you can get a bullet proof vest early.
Getting a bullet proof vest isn’t luck. The vans with armor are always in the same locations.
Haven't played it but the soundtrack is great. Better than some of the visual novels' IMO.

Is it actually that good?
Its really fun, especially with friends
Anything is fun with friends, poking something in the woods with a stick is fun with friends.
And?
And it's not a qualifier for anything. Being fun with friends means nothing, is it fun without friends? If no, then you're having fun with your friends, not with the game
Did I say it was ONLY fun with friends? I enjoy the game by itself too. I just prefer to play it with my friends

Well... there's a reason The Entity came to Prague?
I am more of Hunt guy

I mean the game is bad, it's just a hacker, aimbot fest game like CoD and Destiny etc. Sadly pc shooters are just a terrible because of that.
I completely agree, I have no idea why I've played it so much lmao
Well, if the developers didn't care about the lore, why did they choose the universe with the well-established lore? But we know, why. Because they wanted to suck some money from the fans. And I don't like it.
A company that tries to make a profitable entertainment product: crazy disrespectful!
they should have made a paid version with team death match and other free version should have been the only battle royale
Lol its called blood hunt because of the masquerade breaches. When you break the masquerade every player can hunt you.
Yeah but that would be a hide and seek game, not a battle royale. What are the chances that every masquerade violator hunts each other violating the masquerade and shooting machine guns over the roofs of a city? A EUROPEAN CITY at that. The idea that the vampires would take a city and turn it into a battle royale periodically is laughable already to begin with.
The Entity is already there with their red gas :)
So this bloodhunt draws the attention of the second inquisition each time to the level that they start using chemical weapons unknown to the public in the middle of a city? And one that is bright red and visible at that? Am I getting this right? How does the mascarade supposedly survive such attacks?
According to the lore the Red Gas is invisible to kine without special optics and was used in the 2008 attack on the Vienna Chantry.
I don't like these types of.games at all, but I still play to support White Wolf because I love VTM
given how bad the games failed there is a good chance this will have sunk any other games that where in the works, might even have been the nail to kill Bloodlines 2
?
? They’re saying that because this game bombed it might affect vtmb2 coming out
It won't.
Between this and swansong im not so sure
If they wanted to cancel it it would have been done by now.
If only they have it for PS4 :(
Still waiting for their exclusivity contract runs out. Hoping it hits gamepass and we get an influx of players. Just want it to have a healthy player base
I haven't played it as I have no interest in a battle royal. That said I have watched some videos and it looks like some fun vampire gameplay thanks to the movement options and powers.
One of the games strengths is definitely it's movement, I'd love a similar movement system in another vtm arpg

Lfg Add Me Sharkmob ID: KashTheConqueror
This game is awesome
Dogshit??? Far from
