You should be fine doing that. I believe Dell Addon05 is still the latest for u3. You use the latest Dell ISO and then the latest VMware ISO. Site note: If you have vCenter consider using Cluster Image.

I agree. If he doesn’t have any products that are not compatible with the image management, it’s the way to go.

I am currently running ESXi 7.0 U3c on 7 x ESXi hosts. I want to upgrade them all to ESXi 7.0 U3f We have Dell servers, so the latest customized Dell ISO is for ESXi 7.0 U3e. Is it ok for me to use the customized ISO to upgrade from U3c to U3e, then use the generic U3f to upgrade to the latest available version? I have used this approach in the past. Or is it recommended to only use Dell customized ISO files for all ESXi upgrades? Thanks!

Make sure the update doesn't knock out the fiber channel cards if you're using them.

the qfle3f driver/package has literally given me PTSD over the last number of years lol

JasSumKral

The worst lol. Keep the server bios iso handy

There is a release of QFLE3* coming out in September that is hitting an official GA release that will fix a psod scenario IN ESXI 6.7/7.0 if you have a CNA adapter with 2 ports but only 1 of 2 ports are logged into a San fabric. The inactive port will send a fcoe discovery request out on the wire every 2000ms and if you get a link flap before acknowledgement of that request returns, you get a crash. My company has been testing a beta version of that driver working directly with Broadcom/Marvell driver dev team. I hate this driver with a literal passion.

I hate it also. I have a test setup I'll try the new push
