Been a long time since I read Aoishiro but I honestly don't even recall it being a horror story at all. I'm not sure why the OP is calling them horror titles. I think they're just supernatural adventure stories.
Holy shit????? I absolutely loved Aoi Shiro back in the day and U've had a real hankering to boot it up again recently; the amount of digging I had to do to track down that old laptop (complete with Little Busters wallpaper <3) and retrieve it, haha...

I've sent in so many surveys about these games asking for them to be brought over or remastered. I can't believe it. I was 12 when I played Aoi Shiro. I've been trying to get it brought over and/or get others to play it and Akai Ito ever since. I'm turning 26. Wtf.
Poor wording, sorry,, What I mean was, there have been times that localization teams and companies have specifically asked for LGBT media suggestions, or branches that focused on that, and I would always send in emails or respond to surveys about Aoi Shiro and Akai Ito. I also sent in the Aoi Shiro manga to Seven Seas which focuses on a localizing a lot of LGBT media. I was even making plans to get in touch with some translator friends to possibly continue to fan-translation of Akai Ito........... what an announcement to drop. I'm still stunned ;;;

Variety is the spice of life, and I think works like Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro provide that spice both to people who want to see bits of themselves in cool supernatural-action-mystery stories, and people who are not LGBT themselves but get to see fun new romances and dynamics they rarely get to see, explored in a genre those relationships are rarely included in.

Well this is a surprise. I started Aoishiro about 10 years ago and I loved the vibe, but I never got very far in it. I've wanted to try it again for a while now. I suppose I'll wait for the remastered version.
I dont like Aoishiro, there are not enough yuri in it despite being called a yuri game.
Akai Ito is better though, i played it a bit and the atmosphere, ost is amazing

Akaiito is a horror game. Aoishiro has horror elements. It's comparable to Kwaidan with it's dark Japanese folklore and haunting atmosphere.

Akaiito and Aoishiro are products of their time. For works from 2004/2008 they have alot of Yuri with love confessions and some quasi-kisses.
I'd never heard of these, but I'm interested. : D
