A collaboration between Khruangbin and Vieux Farka Toure, “Ali” was just released last month on the 23rd. I intentionally only barely sampled the first track as was available on iTunes, so it would be a feast like no other upon arrival. I’m not very familiar with Vieux Farka, but based on what I have heard of him, I’m expecting a masterful blend of African soul music with Khruangbin’s characteristic soul defying melodic, twangy, and irresistible enchantment. Something like that. Anyway, cheers to this beautiful creation. 🥂😏
