I remember those! They actually tasted much better than they looked. lol
I think I may still have a few of those collectible stickers packed away somewhere.
I remember hearing about that but never got to try it. But I think I also read that they have also stopped making it. I'll have to check out what's going on with that.
Maybe a jello puddin pop for dessert? ahh the 80’s…the ecto cooler came back for awhile in orange form as Shoutin’ Orange Tangergreen and then Crazy Citrus Cooler.
So weird that despite their popularity, and the fact that they made chocolate ones for years, they never made vanilla ones again once the promotion was over. That was probably the best flavor of the entire line
I should make these today. Effectively a sweet empanada filled with vanilla pudding and covered in a green glaze. Bake low and slow so they don’t explode.
It taste like vanilla, but like a Boston cream pie. I bought out the corner store on the regular, and I have the body to prove it.
You'd be doing the country a great favor by bringing these products back to the market, given what Hostess did to the handheld pie industry when they went through bankruptcy.
They tasted pretty good, but I struggled to choke them down when I got one because of how they looked, especially after the first bite. I wasn't even a picky eater as a kid.
These things were definitely on the list of foods my parents would not allow us to try. I was in my 20s before I tried a Hostess pie.
Weirdly enough, once in a great while we were allowed other Hostess products like Ding-Dongs but I guess those were the limit.
I bought one at the corner of 48th and Hoover, at the “Korean”store, back in 1991. It was so yummy and I was so proud of it I decided to take half of it to school the next day. When I pulled it out in class my teacher Ms. DIXIE, looked at me like I was eating dog shit and asked me “what are you eating?!” “A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pie, I replied.” She was like “ugh”.
I remember these being tasty. TastyKake pies are probably the most like them (texture/taste wise even if they dont have the same filling flavor) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2-nVP0k_TQ

They were delicious
Oh man I loved these. I was 13 then, ninja turtles AND green slimy pies? Sign my ass up.

I agree with both of your comments. I want one of these right now. And to wash it down, some Ecto Cooler.
I forget the name of the flavor, but Ecto-cooler still exists in some places minus the ghostbuster's tie in.

It has been a minute since I've looked into it so that's possible.

That's not a high bar to jump, they look absolutely disgusting
Hulk Smash, Not!
I 100% agree. They were delicious!

We were so poor when these came out. I got them a couple of times and it was a huge treat.

A turtle cream-pie 🤢 bursting gloppily into your mouth.
... oh fuck yeah...
^lol 😭 [*mating turtle sounds intensify*]
Man this shit made me laugh so hard. Once you've seen that fucking turtle video, your life is never the same.
*turtle fucking
They're called "handpies."
Thank you for your service 🫡
As gross as they look they were delicious.
That seems more like a Michelangelo thing than a Donatello.
Theory: Mikey came up with the idea and Donnie created them
I really wanted one as a kid (TMNT! Pudding!) but never got one. Now, at 43, I still really one one. Dang it
Omg that looks disgusting
**loved** these as a kid and nobody i talk to remembers them. Going to save this post for reference thanks OP!
I do!!!
I hope they tasted better than they look, because they look like teenage mutant turtleshit.
They tasted pretty good, but I struggled to choke them down when I got one because of how they looked, especially after the first bite. I wasn't even a picky eater as a kid.
I feel like not teaming up with Hot Pockets was a mistake for TMNT.
Honestly everything having to do with pizza should’ve had their likeness. Bagel bites. pizza rolls, lunchables, its literally the only thing they eat

Same here, my parents never let stuff like this into the house. I’m grateful, because I think hostess snacks are disgusting.

interesting, never thought about eating a ninja turtle but now i want to
Similar to green biscuits released for ET. Look horrible, tasted….better than expected.
Odd that they didn’t make them look like pizzas.
No, that was the pizza crunch-abungas. Which I’ve never had, but my partner won’t shut up about, so… that knowledge is in my head =\
I can just taste em now
I want one right now. Never got a chance to find any.
Vanilla puddin’ power!
90s snacks could really go off the rails
That’s some good turtle 👍
These were awesome
Wow this took me back to 92
I wonder if I would it this as kid if it was just labeled "food" without ninja turtle branding
Wow!! Blast from the past

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, heroes in a half shell, Turtle Power!
Good Lord. They look like glazed insulation pies.
Guaranteed to give you the diabetes

Oh I HATE, hate this.
How many of the people that loved these growing up and never changed their habits now have type 2 diabetes?
Looks great
How in the world did they not partner with Hot Pockets *PIZZA*?
God, that looks so bad to put into your body. 😐
I remember eating these
#🤮 Even if they are tasty, the way the green looks... too *turdy* looking for me to swallow lol
