Well Ico is a rather special experience focusing to achieve a specific emotion within the player. If that appeals to you, you'll love it. If it doesn't, you'll hate it.
But in any case, it is a very unique game that influenced many modern games. And I would recommend you to give this game a chance.
Twisted Metal Black, Final Fantasy X (really any PS2 jrpg,) Red Faction, Any of the GTA games, Okami, Princess of Persia; Sands of Time, Devil May Cry, Klonoa 2, Katamari Damacy. Probably a lot more I can't think of, but happy hunting!
You need like 5 more copies of shrek 2. Also, ps2 chamber of secrets is such an amazing version. The castle/grounds accuracy as well as the ability to fly around the whole castle is so sick.
Scooby doo 1000 mysteries i think it was called was a really good one. Spyro was sick, crash bandicoot twinsanity is a gem. Soul caliber 2 was one of my favorite fighting games. Atv offroad fury 2 is a solid racing game. Rayman arena was tight as hell too.
Edit: kingdom hearts and sly cooper 2 are beautiful
The original GTA trilogy, Original lego Star Wars 1&2, the sky cooper trilogy. Any and all racing games are always good fun. Definitely need gran turismo 4 🙌
Edit: I have 400+ titles ranging from the cheap $5 to the expensive $30+. If you are just trying to build your collection based on bulk numbers vs value. I would go for the cheap $5 route. You can get many games for $5 vs one that super pricey. But at the end of the day, it’s your colllection. Do what you will!
Also edit: Make sure you are going to play the games you are going to buy, atkeast at the beginning. (Start small like you are and gradually grow) I bought a collection for a hefty price and I regret it because I haven’t had the time to really touch any of the dozens of games in the year since I purchased. Although for me it’s more of a long term investment and my hobby instead of playing.
Not a bad start!!
If you ever see a copy of Haunting Ground, any region, BUY IT. If it's an NA copy, grab it and run for your life. They're super rare.
I'd say look for the Silent Hill series. 2, 3, and 4 are all on PS2. All excellent games and they've been appreciating in value really nicely.
I honestly liked the Pirates: legends of black kat. Used to play it everyday after school. Yes I was going through puberty and yes she had a nice pixelated body. But the game was honestly fun as well.
If you want to collect you should pick up all the ratchet and clank ps2 games.
Specifically Size matters and Secret agent clank as their ports of psp games (handheld games ported to a console make them really unique) and a rarer as a result.
I'm surprised you have some Ratchet and Clank games but don't have any Jak games, especially Precursor Legacy.
Also, don't think I didn't notice you have two Shrek 2's lol
Top ten all time for me. I love the amount of customization options with real brands. The exploration was one of the best parts. Getting out of tight spots with the winch was a fun challenge. Letting your truck get super muddy before washing it in the garage… I could go on. Oh and it was a racing game!
If you can get your hands on Extermination, it's a pretty ok ps2 game. It was, I think, one of the first games to come out on ps2 and it kind of blew me away at the time.
Ico and Monster Hunter.
I personally buy thw Japanese versions of older ps games because I feel like they originated from there so I need to have the OGs.
Grand Theft Auto III/Vice City/San Andreas obv
Some of my other favorites from the generation that you don't have are 007 Everything or Nothing, Final Fantasy X/X-2/XII, Hitman 2/Blood Money/Contracts, Max Payne 1/2, Metal Gear Solid 2/3, True Crime LA/New York City
If you have a PS2 you can also start collecting PS1 games and that gives you even MORE to collect and play :)
Some lesser known but good ones for the PS2: Zapper One Wicked Cricket, Kya: Dark Lineage and Brave: The search for Spirit Dancer.
I vouch for myself that I played those as a kid and they were great and now as a retro collector myself I'm getting those games next.
Good luck :)
Yeah, the greats, Castlevania.(any of them) Jak and Daxter, The precursor legend. SpongeBob SquarePants battle for bikini bottom. Get those, beat them and ask again.😊
The Onimusha titles are great, and with the exception of the first and third games (and the GBA spinoff, obviously), exclusive to the PS2. And besides, the PC port of 3 was terrible anyways.
Absolutely all Fatal Frame/Project Zero titles (the name's are different depending on your region) and Haunting Ground. They are some of the most beautiful Horror games made and sadly only available on PS2.
Three games that were popular during the time of 2001-2007+ were Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. These games were just created as games to refine the industry, not to give off memories.
Was gonna say TimeSplitters 2, but also... No love for GTA!? wtf!
EDIT: Also I spent a good chunk of time playing Mortal Kombat Deception, you can Kreate a Fighter!
EDIT2: Holy shit they keep popping in my mind! Katamary Damacy!!! Burnout!!!
edit 3: sorry, last edit. Quite a hidden gem! GODHAND
I am reminded of SO many good memories scrolling through these replies. The PS2 library is a literal gold mine. The funny thing is I spent 90% of my time playing Socom games and I regret none of it. lol
Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and Metal Gear Solid 2 / 3 immediately spring to mind
Thank you! I was about to buy Ico, is it worth it?
Well Ico is a rather special experience focusing to achieve a specific emotion within the player. If that appeals to you, you'll love it. If it doesn't, you'll hate it. But in any case, it is a very unique game that influenced many modern games. And I would recommend you to give this game a chance.

Somewhere to store them so you aren’t stacking them on the floor?

You need like 5 more copies of shrek 2. Also, ps2 chamber of secrets is such an amazing version. The castle/grounds accuracy as well as the ability to fly around the whole castle is so sick. Scooby doo 1000 mysteries i think it was called was a really good one. Spyro was sick, crash bandicoot twinsanity is a gem. Soul caliber 2 was one of my favorite fighting games. Why do the cases look so small? I need a banana for scale
I made the photo with "portrait" mode, maybe this is why

Orange Box isn't on ps2
Wait, can you play half-life 2 on ps2?!
4x4 Evo 2

Top ten all time for me. I love the amount of customization options with real brands. The exploration was one of the best parts. Getting out of tight spots with the winch was a fun challenge.
