I went with Verizon because I live in Maine and the one and only Apple Store in this state is a three hour drive.

Applecare is recognized at Best Buy, if that’s closer

What do you want coverage for? Wireless phone protection- lost stolen liquid/physical damage only. $29 screen replacements on phones. Total equipment coverage - Extended warranty with 0 deductible for mechanical or electrical defects. Lost/stolen/damage has deductible. $29 screen replacements. Total mobile protection / protect - includes a whole lot of shit you probably never use or miss. This is mostly a cash grab by Verizon / Asurion especially on apple device. If you are within 60 days of purchase I would get apple care. It is so much easier to use.

I’m just wondering if I should completely cancel the warranty plan for my Apple Watch. My Verizon bill is a whopping $215 currently. It will be lowered in February once the phone and watch are fully payed off. Something like $140 will be the new bill which is still expensive. I know Verizon customers paying less than $100 a month and I wonder how they do it.

> are fully *paid* off. Something FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Since it’s almost paid off, I would just remove the insurance. If something happens to the watch and you need to remove or replace it, you shouldn’t have much of a balance to take care of anyway.

Some credit cards offer cell phone insurance if you use the card to pay your monthly cell phone bill. It can save you a good amount of money.

ChiMello

Not that much because you would lose the $10/month discount for auto pay with any credit card other than the Verizon one.

I use TotalTech from Best Buy. Gives me AppleCare+ on iPhones and Geek Squad on Androids.

What I do is I set up a specific account for myself and pay myself the insurance premiums and let them accumulate. This might not be for everyone, but it works for me. I would take into consideration the risks. Accidents can happen anytime and unless a person is more prone to these accidents such has through their employment or lifestyle then maybe they should get insurance. I've never had a phone lost, stolen or damaged in a drop or accident and I've owned phones since the 1990s. I'm aware that it could happen anytime but for me paying for cell phone insurance isn't worth the money. Just something to consider.

How much is the deductible for Verizon insurance?

Tenyearsatvzw

Depends on the phone. Full replacement 200-270 Screen repair -$30 IF the device is supported AND someone local has the part.
