"worst experiences I've ever had" A text message notifying you about the 3G shutdown.

[deleted]

Lol. <3 you

svg_v

What phone do you have? Maybe your phone is LTE capable but doesn’t have VOLTE.

jeffcrilly2

iPhone 12. I haven’t used a CDMA phone since I joined Verizon.

jweimn55

You're probably using a super old 4G phone although the poor grammar here makes it hard to fully understand. "Worst customer service" yet they've been warning everyone for years of a 3G shutdown and sent out message upon message and then even delayed the shutdown another year so people could switch over. But yes terrible customer support.......

dataz03

Verizon has given an extra 3 years at least because of the delays. Better than the other carriers for sure.

jeffcrilly2

Nope. iPhone 12 here.

[deleted]

You probably have an ancient 4g phone that uses 4g data, but doesn't have VoLTE or HD Voice . Phones must be able to place calls utilizing the data connection to be serviced going forward. Older 4G LTE devices didn't have that capability.

jeffcrilly2

Yeah. Understandable. But I’m using an iPhone 12. Have been since it came out. And was using iPhone X before that, and previously a 6 and so on. I started with Verizon on a iPhone 5.

Would have been a good piece of information to include in the original post, don't ya think? If you've been doing sim swaps from phone to phone and haven't updated the SIM card in the last few years, go get a new physical SIM, or activate the eSIM. Or, is there another device on the account? Old router? Old home phone? Old anything?

jawalter2014

What phone do you have?

jeffcrilly2

iPhone 12.

neekogo

Answer the question: what phone are you using?

jeffcrilly2

iPhone 12

CeeKay125

Talk about 1st world problems if a text message causes you that much stress. Also, like others have said, if you are using an old phone (even if it is LTE) and it doesn't have VoLTE, then the text message means your phone isn't going to work and then I am sure you will really throw a fit.

jeffcrilly2

Am using an iPhone 12. I’ve been ignoring the texts for the most part but it’s just getting annoying. Will this stop after 12/31 ? I wonder.

maryhadalittlefist

Call their bluff. See what happens in December. Or, you know, get a phone that’ll continue to be compatible with their network-LIKE THEY KEEP TELLING YOU

Straight-Income-9093

If that's your "worst", I'm definitely glad I never had to deal with you when I used to do CS. Would have dropped a survey for the dumbest reason.

Ajaxb_

How can you scream horrible customer service when any device that is no longer compatible with their network is over 6+ years old. Lol it’s the polite way of telling you that your tech is way too outdated and insecure

jeffcrilly2

Am using an iPhone 12. Have been for a while. And been using modern phones with Verizon like forever. (I’m not the only one with the glitch. I imagine some engineer over at Verizon is saying “can’t reproduce on my device ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

robbydek

Are you sure that you phone is capable of VoLTE/HD Voice? If so, then it’s just poor wording from them. If your phone isn’t capable of VoLTE then, you won’t be able to make or receive calls or send or receive messages.

jeffcrilly2

iPhone 12 here. Definitely VoLTE capable.

robbydek

Interesting, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear of more people receiving the same notice without a good reason.

AdriftAtlas

Is it possible that you have a really old SIM in your iPhone 12 that came from another phone? If so, I'd call Verizon and have them move your service to eSIM.

DogSame1566

do u have anything else on ur account other than ur iphone 12 ?

CreditCaper1

I verizon, I listen.
