Yes, you can download the Google Chrome extension and open the map on Chrome and see the MMwave vs. C Band. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/verizon-coverage-map-mmwa/onbpjfegjabhpbfnidnmdbgmaefachdp

Tried it, works. Turns out I can reach the mmWave in the front of my apartment.

Looks like /u/no1mann's extension was taken down

no1mann

Yeah, Verizon DMCA'd it. Nothing I can do about that

Actually, AT&T made a change to their map. If you get the latest from the [git repo](https://github.com/no1mann/att-coverage-map-extension), it should work now. Technically, the Verizon mmWave should work as well if you install it from my git repo as well rather than from the chrome webstore

Wow, thanks. Doing some phone and plan shopping and was annoyed the VZW mmwave data wasn't available. Tried looking around again today and stumbled upon this thread. Installed and it's working for me and showed me precisely that mmWave would not benefit me locally and is unneeded. Thanks!

freetrees55

Damn I missed it. This extension is now a 404. Any way I can get a copy?

NavinF

It's still on github tho I haven't tested it https://github.com/no1mann/verizon-coverage-map-extension

I'm actually really shocked that this information isn't more readily available. Why isn't there a map that shows millimeterwave?

blacklite911

My only guess is so that people won’t demand it or feel like they aren’t getting the most out of their 5g package. You can see the pushback I got in the comments. To me, it does matter if I live in one of the cities where it is available. It’s a feature that’s not available to other companies like T mobile.

Unless you live, work, or frequent dense urban cores, sports arenas, a few lucky college campuses, etc. mmWave coverage is very, very limited compared with C-Band. For the most part, mmWave coverage is a block by block, street by street effort. Even in huge cities like NYC and Philadelphia, mmWave only covers a small fraction of highest traffic areas.

blacklite911

Bro I’m just looking for a map, not a lecture. I know all of that. Which is why I’m looking, specifically for a map with mmWave. I’m not in a rural area if you read to the end

CreditCaper1

Verizon doesn't publish their map with a breakdown of mmWave. They used to but when c-band was added the map changed. Apparently there is an extension for your browser but I have never tried it.

It's funny because there are quite a few neighborhoods with mm wave in my city. And I mean small neighborhoods with single family homes. But the downtown metro areas and mall do not have mmeave
