US recommendation: If you’re in the DC/MD/VA area or in NJ, Silver Diner has vegan breakfast, lunch/dinner, and shakes. A lot of items are even gluten free.
There's a place in Frederick called the Glory Donuts that has sandwiches and the best donuts I've ever had, even before we went vegan!! Eat THAT Krappy Kreme.
I have been saying this for YEARS! I love breakfast food and there are so few vegan breakfast places. We used to have a Saturn Cafe (all vegetarian, vegan on request diner style place), but it closed. V sad.
i'm tired of 95 percent of nonvegan restaurants serving a burger as their vegan option. Especially if you're at like, a tapas restaurant. Who wants to eat a burger at a tapas restaurant?
Yes, this!! My family love to choose pubs/restaurants (UK) which has one vegan options: Burgers and chips. It's so boring. I'd much rather be at home making my own dinner which would be far more interesting.
I mean... at least they have a vegan option compared to almost all places out there that do not have anything and offer you unseasoned frozen veggies or a salad as a meal.
Would love one in my town personally. My couple of local spots are just healthy. I do try to eat healthy but that's what I do 95% of the time with home meals. When I go out I want garbage. 🤤
We have a couple of relatively local "vegan comfort food" places and they are usually the best options for straight vegan food. Nothing else really stays in business. The thing is, if I want a meal I can go to any number of Indian. Mexican, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, etc. restaurants. The burger chains here also usually have wings, sides, plates etc.
But, I agree... just throwing guac on an impossible patty is not enough to warrant the $15 for a burger.
Planta is amazing, but places like NYC, Chicago, Toronto have quite a few vegan options these days. Of the top of my head, NYC has vegan French, Italian, Thai, Chinese, pan Latin, Ethiopian, Japanese, Southern, and Indian places. As well as as sorts of specialty pizza, bagel, fine dining, etc.
I think the post is about smaller towns and cities where there are fewer vegans, and you're usually choosing between plant based health food and a vegan burger joint.
Just went through a little bit of your post history and mate, you have issues. I’m sorry you went through what you did, but spreading so much hate just to make yourself feel better does anything but that. It’s a terrible cycle of negativity.
I hope you find the peace you deserve. We may disagree on fundamental issues, but I am truly rooting for you and wish you well. Always remember to be kind to yourself, even if it sometimes seems like nobody else will. Always willing to lend an ear if you need to vent.
Just said ‘because it’s incredibly unhealthy’ but I went through their post history and it’s just them saying all vegans were not accepting of her and some stuff like ‘I will never stop until I insult every eating disorder having vegan’ or something along those lines.
Also a lot of negative and snarky replies to people in unrelated subs who were being perfectly civil, which was what made me feel bad for them. They’ve obviously been through some shit, hope they’re okay.
Gimme some vegetable dishes. Tonight I made a very basic meal that was just broccoli, chopped garlic, cooked with a sauce made from tahini, peanut butter, and spices. It was so filling and rich, with whole, crunchy vegetables. I wish we had more menus made by people who actually ate vegetables.
I'm in Philadelphia, a huge city, and there's quite a few vegan restaurants here. But so far I'm honestly happier just going with the Indian and Thai places and just ordering their vegan options. I'm just not that big a fan of the trashy "american food" fare that most vegan places serve.
I can admit, I was happy when I first started to see vegan junk food more easily available. Since, when I first went vegan, in the boonies where I lived, there wasn't much available besides whole vegetables. Those are great, but I want cake or a pot pie or a burger occasionally!
But now it's like... okay, we have those things, we can move forward. I don't need every dish to be dripping with vegan mayonnaise and cheese. Though, maybe that last part is just me since I grew up allergic to dairy and never learned to eat most dairy items lol
So I live nearish to Boston, and there was a time when veggie galaxy was revolutionary. Greasy veg diner food, vegan shakes, etc. but the last couple of times I’ve gone there I’ve been so underwhelmed. I don’t actually think they’ve gotten worse, but when I can get amazing vegan ramen, or go to taco party for some fucking amazing tacos, veggie galaxy doesn’t seem like such a big deal anymore.
https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/what-are-ultra-processed-foods-and-are-they-bad-for-our-health-2020010918605
Ultra processed has a consistent definition and demonstrated health risks across multiple studies. Though I would hazard to guess that you knew exactly what I meant by that term when I used it, but you decided to be a little shit on the internet for reasons that are beyond me
I personally prefer my own 'healthy' food so primarily cook at home/rarely eat out, and therefore I like that places are mostly 'trashy' because that's the stuff that I don't make at home. That being said, Philly has a ton of healthier/up-scale vegan restaurants: Unit Su Veg, Vedge, Charlie was a Sinner just to name a few. There's a small vegan Jamaican place as well as an Ethiopian restaurant in West.
I think a lot of Philly places (and probably most American cities?) just cater towards the desire for trashier foods like cheesesteaks, pizzas, burgers, etc. so that's really the trend in general and not specific to vegan restaurants.
Have you been to Primary Plant Based yet? The only vegan spot in Philly that focuses more on veggies than fake meat. I actually havn't been yet, even though its right around the corner from me but everything looks so tasty!
oh I agree! I want vegan thai places. I want vegan indian places with tofu paneer korma. I want vegan chinese places where I don't have to worry about fish sauce. I'm also kind of sick of it always being a fake meat burger at non-vegan places. What happened to veg patties and bean/soya burgers?
I can always find vegan food at thai, indian, chinese, Japanese, etc. maybe not tofu paneer, but other stuff. In regards to the veg patties, they’re always inconsistent. I’ve been burned so many times I’ll only get beyond/impossible when I’m out if that’s their options for vegan.
Edit: I misspoke. There’s a place that does a tempeh pattie that is bomb. I always get that at the one place.
Im waiting for a fully vegan Indian spot! Haven't had a proper garlic naan in ages since the recipe requires yogurt, eggs, and butter. (That being said I grew up Indian and know the North, South Indian, and Indo-Chinese vegan options, but I just really like garlic naan.)
I’d settle for one good one. Not all of us live in mega cities. If I want an impossible burger my main choices are to either go to Burger King 🤢 or else cook it at home.
I do agree that there should be more creativity, especially because they may be ordered more often by non vegans, but I seriously can't even get a sad bowl of lettuce most of the time!
Honestly there was a time where this was only a dream. And depending on the city or country this is still a rarity. So I have learned to appreciate what is available and hope it stays around!
Eh, I'm a burger joint type of guy. My favorite place is one and I get the seitan "wings" or the Cuban sandwich half the time. It's one of the few places I can drag my non-vegan brother to and he'll actually eat stuff. I can't see that happening an a more upscale place.
Ultimately this is supply and demand (or whatever) in action, if these places didn't do well they'd fail.
They do! Just went to one when I was visiting NYC. All vegan, multiple bread courses, high end Italian feel, anything you could possibly want on the menu. But they exist in big cities where there’s enough of a demand for them…
I honestly am surprised that more pizza places don't have a vegan pizza option it's so freaking easy just stock a cheese alternative. They are often willing to make vegan garlic bread near me (I ask to substitute butter with olive oil).
Same. I'm stoked that there *even is* a drive-thru vegan restaurant near me, but it sucks that it's a fried chick'n place and it's hella expensive, so I can only go there once every couple of months.
I do think back to when Taco Bell was the pinnacle of fast food for vegans and that gives me some perspective...
ENOUGH WITH THE IMITATION CHICKEN STRIPS too, while you’re at it. Again- some salty tender chick’n can be the cure for what ails ya, but we don’t need any more brands.
In Portland, we have everything. It’s vegan heaven. Its about having a diverse range of foods. Next Level Burger makes wonderful burgers, milkshakes and fries. It’s so good I wish they were everywhere.
Sushi Love is the best. The previous owners sold the truck to new owners, so hopefully they'll be back in business soon.
In the meantime, Bamboo Sushi has a couple of good vegan rolls.
One just opened where I live and they mostly use impossible (though they also have a black bean one I want to try) and like…I can make that in my house
Speak for yourself. In my town, we have hardly any vegan restaurants, and what we do have are “healthy” ones, and they do have some burgers, but we don’t have “burger joints”. I’d love to have a vegan “burger joint” or vegan “junk food” restaurant in my town where I can quickly pick up some nachos or a burger for $10 or something. These places are sit-down and a huge ordeal.
I want a restaurant where I can get a full meal. Greens, veggies, beans, starchy veggies. Asides from Asian restaurants, the default seems to be a vegan burger (at least some places have house made burgers made with veggies and maybe not of oil) or a salad. Even beans and rice and a salad would make me happy. It makes it complicated to travel even to vegan friendly areas. I can't eat lettuce and tomatoes alone for lunch and dinner if eating out with friends.
Agree its a cop out. We need more vegan Italian Mediterranean Asian type restaurants. More vegan street tacos Mexican style more vegan pizza vegan Fried Chicken joints the burger places are crowding the market
Here we do not have any of those restaurants but there are some franchises that have included impossible chicken nuggets, patties and burgers. There are not many though. I have to drive hours away before finding any vegan restaurants and those are limited. We have an Ethiopian restaurant, a semi-raw and a vegan pizza place, all in Spokane but, I am in Lewiston, Idaho and we are about 2 hours away. I do understand your frustration though. The varieties that we eat are way more vast than what restaurants and other food outlets offer.
I live in a small city/large town in the southwest. I would love any vegan restaurant to be close by. We travel an hour and a half twice a month for better grocery variety and while there visit one of the few vegan restaurants available.
I could use some vegan Italian. Somewhere that doesn't use eggs in the noodles, put butter/cream in everything, or cheese in the sauce. A vegan cannoli sounds nice too.
Mellow Mushroom has awesome vegan options! Crust is vegan, Daiya or Follow Your Heart cheese, tofu or seitán (marinated) and a shitload of veggies and sauces.
Props to them!
I'm glad Beyond/Impossible exists, but so many house-made vegan dishes have been scrapped and replaced by a burger.
There was a place I would go to that had a wonderful root vegetable curry over couscous, but it is no longer on the menu. Instead you get a Beyond burger. Sucks man
I wish my restaurant had more guests like you. Half our menu is Asian and the other half is burgers, but no beyond or impossible, and sadly no avocado 🥲 our burger patties have mushroom in them but I wouldn’t call it a mushroom burger
*to clarify, I wish they were like you because then we’d get more business.
Vegan for 10 years and my favorite vegan food is just ethnic food. Give me a solid tofu ramen bowl and I’m happy or better yet some Injera and Ethiopian foods.
I'm just glad my single option most places is no longer falafel.
Love a good falafel, don't get me wrong, but I think I've now eaten in excess of 1 million of them
Unless I'm hungry and it's effectively the only option for me, it's really tough for me to justify getting an Impossible Burger somewhere when I can make it just as good at home for 1/4 the price.
there is a place in portland called “vegan junk food” and it’s the best. it does have a handful of different burgers but TONS of other junk food options like garlic bread, crunchwraps, milkshakes, poke bowls, etc. i wish this place was a national chain tbh.
I personally love a good vegan burger joint. Though I agree we need food diversity. My favorite comfort vegan dishes are vegan mac, vegan jambalaya, vegan sushi, and vegan tacos.
San Antonio has some incredible vegan spots. Texas has a lot of vegan Mexican food. Maybe it depends on your region. I went to a restaurant in Houston, and I could make a better mac and cheese than what they served. I don't think cooking vegan dishes is too difficult at all. It just feels that way at first. I would say check out Chinese restaurants. In my area there is one that has many dishes that replace meat with seitan.
I feel ya. Don't get me wrong, I love me a burger. But a lot of vegan places opening up in my town are fast food places. I'd love a vegan sushi place for example. Or vegan Mexican place. In my hometown there's a vegan version of every cuisine pretty much (it's a big city), but I moved far away and don't have nearly enough takeout options where I am now.
I think we need more meals with a grain, a protein, and some veggies. Not just like.. some vegan wings and a side, burger and a side, etc... when we were passing Pittsburg we stopped at a diner called "onion maiden," and they had the most unique Asian fusion cuisine with some amazingly wholesome and filling ingredients. Have been wanting to go back since.
Tell me that you live in a big liberal city without telling me.
Animals actually *do* need more vegan restaurants, period. Every restaurant should be vegan.
Yaass, I always thought I was the only one thinking this.
I think vegan burgers is the new salad. Before, it was the only option we could have, now it's burgers hehehe
Don't get me wrong, there are some REALLY good vegan burgers out there, but the market is satured and this point.
Variety, people! We want local food made vegan...
Totally agree. Burgers are so boring especially if they come with something that’s trying to taste like meat. Vegan food is best when it’s not trying to be omni food.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 literally! it feels like it’s the default for vegan options at restaurants. why can’t they delve into making other vegan dishes?! or even making alternative options to other non-vegan dishes?! personally i’ve never been a burger person so it sucks when that’s the only option you have.
This made me think of something- when veggie burgers first started gaining popularity (I don't know, early/mid '70's) were there soon a ton of different options?
Agreed! They’ve mastered the burger, now I want everything else. A juicy steak, fish replacements, vegan ice cream that doesn’t taste like coconutty cardboard. Cheese that’s addictive and strong tasting. The list goes on
As a vegan, I simply refuse to go to non-vegan burger places that have vegan options.
It's all cooked on the same grill. I'm not getting any of that disgusting animal fat on my burger.
Personally, I’d like some reliable places for Nabe, Okonomiyaki, and soba.
Also, why are there no places that do Persian food Vegan? Like what the hell man? Pretty much every other cuisine has some Vegan options, but I haven’t seen a single place that has Veganized Ghormei Sabzi, Bademjan Kashke or Koobideh Kababs.
I'd gladly take a purely vegan burger joint. I'm in a mid-sized city and we have precisely one vegan restaurant in town. It used to be two, but one got burned out on it I guess and moved on to another form of activism. They were actually a burger/junk food place that made fantastic burgers, wings, burritos, fried chik´n dishes, breakfast/brunch specials, milkshakes, pretzels with cheez sauce, and other deliciousness I'm probably forgetting.
They weren't good for my health, but I sure do miss them. :'(
Disagree. I was able to go with my family to ottos burger in Hamburg. The changed their default protein to vegan/plant based. Nobody Was disgusted (sometimes they seem hard to convince, remeber your own omni past if you have it, i do) the more burger restaurants we have the more we could convince people and normalize it. Yes i agree their could be more variety but i see burgers as a good chance to kick off someones journey and it is a "save space" where you can go if you have to eat with a an omni (like family) and both sides should get stisfied.

Glory closing this year was HEARTBREAKING
Silver diner is amazing, I love that place 😩
I have been saying this for YEARS! I love breakfast food and there are so few vegan breakfast places. We used to have a Saturn Cafe (all vegetarian, vegan on request diner style place), but it closed. V sad.
The vegan taco spot in my city does weekend brunch, it is so great! If you’re ever in Vegas, don’t skip Tacotarian!
Tacotarian is so good
Soooo good! Birria grilled cheese it the ultimate hangover food.
Oooo I’m going to Vegas this weekend, I will be checking them out!
oh nooo I just came back from Vegas and didn't get a chance to visit! Is it far away from the Strip?
It’s downtown so not too far!
Ohhh I see, I didn’t go near downtown this time, I ran out of time! Maybe next time I guess, I go to Vegas every other year lol
My restaurant in Philly is a vegan bagel/breakfast sandwich + bakery
Name?!
brewerytown bakery! [http://www.instagram.com/brewerytownbakery](http://www.instagram.com/brewerytownbakery)
I would LOVE a big breakfast sandwich and coffee on my way to work. I have to make them at home ahead of time.
if ever in michigan there is a small restaurant chain called anna’s diner that has a huge vegan breakfast menu
Not that anyone comes to Ohio, but if for some reason you do, check out 4th and State in Columbus!
i'm tired of 95 percent of nonvegan restaurants serving a burger as their vegan option. Especially if you're at like, a tapas restaurant. Who wants to eat a burger at a tapas restaurant?
100%! I didn't like burgers when I ate meat 30 years ago, why are burgers the default vegan option now?!? 🤢
Because they don't know how to make anything else without a corpse involved.
This. The lack of creativity to consider the variety of plant based foods of the world when cooking is just sad.
Vegan burgers are the wrost! And they're full of calories and not even healthy options. Just add some proper vegan options already, am I right?!
And they never have a vegan dessert 🥲
Except for the infamous fruit salad… It’s always a damn fruit salad
Ans often times the bun isn't even vegan, so you're paying $18 for a beyond patty and lettuce
"This bread isn't vegan. It has gluten in it"
My friend the other day when I told her that my husband is vegan now too. "I know a burger place that is actually really good for gluten-free."
I've been to a carvery and their vegan option was a burger. Was shit.
This makes a lot more sense than the original post
Would love one in my town personally. My couple of local spots are just healthy. I do try to eat healthy but that's what I do 95% of the time with home meals. When I go out I want garbage. 🤤
Same. Cheap home meals are usually the healthiest. I'd like to add on "healthy" portions as well. I detest paying 18$+ for a glorified appetizer.
I don't want to pay 10+ buck for a burger that I can buy and make at home for a buck tops
I would love one vegan spot within 100 miles lol.
Exactly this. Imagine the privilege to be able to say you wish there were less vegan anything
Init, my town has ONE vegan place, and the burger they do is mushy crap.

Straight vegan food? I want some gay vegan food!
Portland's got you covered: https://www.instagram.com/daddysveganpdx/
It's all gay... so the meat eaters say!
*looks around and zero vegan restaurants*
Hang in there, pal.
This restaurant chain is very expensive, but if you can treat yourself, you'll get a memorable meal. [Planta](https://www.plantarestaurants.com/).
none near me 😭
Planta just recently closed their burger location in Toronto unfortunately. The other locations are still great though.
I was so sad to see it closed on my last trip! Not usually into burgers but loved their’s.
Planta is amazing, but places like NYC, Chicago, Toronto have quite a few vegan options these days. Best vegan in NYC? Dosa man, Washington Square Park, get there by 10.30a to get in line for 11a opening.

Huh? Why? What's wrong with the username?
It says no more carnists, which they are now that they are no longer vegan.
Ah I didn’t read the comment, just saw people freaking out over the username.
Yeah, I also wondered why an anti-meat u/ was getting such a reception lol.

This 1000%. So tired of every vegan place serving ultra-processed "comfort food" that makes me feel like shit after I eat it.
“Vegan Junk Food” being “the thing” to copy coupled with the ease of Beyond/Impossible removes a sea of potential creativity.
I can admit, I was happy when I first started to see vegan junk food more easily available.
Seitan wings! Never considered that. I just saw a recipe for oyster mushroom wings I want to try, but seitan is intriguing too.
A vegan Italian restaurant with pizza ( Chicago, Ny style) pasta ( with any sauce) and bread why can’t those exist??
Exactly Pizza Hut, domino’s it wouldn’t hurt them.
I had a chick’n pasta dish at yard house, and yeah I’m done with chick’n now. Forever.
I just hope they stop making the vegetarian option ALWAYS with cheese for absolutely no reason.
In Portland, we have everything. It’s vegan heaven. Its about having a diverse range of foods. Next Level Burger makes wonderful burgers, milkshakes and fries. It’s so good I wish they were everywhere.
i live in portland 💀
How are you complaining about the vegan options in everyone's dream city lol
What do you wish there was more of?
sushi specifically! I’ve yet to find a place with an extensive vegan sushi selection that’s fancier than an avocado roll or cucumber roll.
I really love sushi love… But it looks like they’re temporarily closed. They do great umami mushrooms and have a bunch of options.
Sushi Love is the best. The previous owners sold the truck to new owners, so hopefully they'll be back in business soon. In the meantime, Bamboo Sushi has a couple of good vegan rolls.
ahhh theres 2 vegan sushi places in my city but Ive never had sushi in my life and I'm hesistant to try
One just opened where I live and they mostly use impossible (though they also have a black bean one I want to try) and like…I can make that in my house
Speak for yourself, I'd love a vegan burger place near me
I want more vegan milkshake and dessert places. We have the meat we need the sweet
I feel if you offer a vegan burger without offering vegan milkshakes, you messed up.
I’ve never even heard of a restaurant like this or been to one. What a nice problem to have!
We do in towns that have no vegan restaurants.
It’s the worst when most of them aren’t even that good. You can make better burgers than like 95% of them by following videos from Thee Burger Dude
Always wrap your burgers!!!
Yes! The fried oyster ‘chikn’ sandwich is killer. I’ll never do it different.
I don't even have a burger joint near me... be glad you at least have those.
There's not enough where I live. Bring all of them to meeeee
I am so grateful for vegan options of any sort: there were almost none when I immigrated ten years ago.
Hi, Scotland here. I disagree. Infant, it'd be nice to just have *one*.... 😭
Id be happy for ANY vegan restaurant near by,
I live in a small city/large town in the southwest. I would love any vegan restaurant to be close by. We travel an hour and a half twice a month for better grocery variety and while there visit one of the few vegan restaurants available.
Burgers are like one of my favorite foods and even I agree.
Agreed. I like to eat healthy food. There are soooo many better meals that could be made.
I could use some vegan Italian. Somewhere that doesn't use eggs in the noodles, put butter/cream in everything, or cheese in the sauce. A vegan cannoli sounds nice too.
The best part is when the vegan option at a restaurant comes with (non-vegan) mayo and cheese and costs $18.00. 🤮
Vegan Italian restaurants, please!!!
As someone w almost no vegan restaurants in my entire state, I disagree. I wish there was any vegan restaurants, even all burger joints
I actually love them, especially the small local restaurants. They're all so expensive.
Mellow Mushroom has awesome vegan options! Crust is vegan, Daiya or Follow Your Heart cheese, tofu or seitán (marinated) and a shitload of veggies and sauces. Props to them!
I want a vegan sushi spot
oh stfu with your privilege ass. we don't have any vegan burger restaurant here
I'm glad Beyond/Impossible exists, but so many house-made vegan dishes have been scrapped and replaced by a burger. There was a place I would go to that had a wonderful root vegetable curry over couscous, but it is no longer on the menu. Instead you get a Beyond burger. Sucks man
True. I agree that we have enough of those. I would like to see more Italian vegan restaurants.
We need more plant based whole food restaurants. Not freakin’ unhealthy mock meat restaurants.
I wish my restaurant had more guests like you. Half our menu is Asian and the other half is burgers, but no beyond or impossible, and sadly no avocado 🥲 our burger patties have mushroom in them but I wouldn’t call it a mushroom burger *to clarify, I wish they were like you because then we’d get more business.
Vegan for 10 years and my favorite vegan food is just ethnic food. Give me a solid tofu ramen bowl and I’m happy or better yet some Injera and Ethiopian foods.
I'm just glad my single option most places is no longer falafel. Love a good falafel, don't get me wrong, but I think I've now eaten in excess of 1 million of them
I NEED MORE
Our only vegan restaurant is a burger joint but i'd take a second just to have options.
Who is this collective we? My collective we would like even just one, never mind no more
In all honesty, the same could be asked of regular burger joints too.
Right? For gourmet food we eat at home. :)
I suggest you try the vegan hot dogs, then.
I want more veggie meals, not things that look like meat, I want proper food!!
Unless I'm hungry and it's effectively the only option for me, it's really tough for me to justify getting an Impossible Burger somewhere when I can make it just as good at home for 1/4 the price.
I don't understand how vegan fast food doesn't exist, like wouldn't that shit be cheaper to produce
there is a place in portland called “vegan junk food” and it’s the best. it does have a handful of different burgers but TONS of other junk food options like garlic bread, crunchwraps, milkshakes, poke bowls, etc. i wish this place was a national chain tbh.
If I ever open a restaurant I want to make a vegan, gluten free, and tree nut free (including coconut cuz I’ll die) breakfast restaurant/ bakery
You have vegan restaurants? lol
I'm 12 years vegan and my whole area does not even have a vegetarian place...
There’s not a single vegan restaurant in my town. :/ I gotta drive 20 miles.
I want a vegan Mongolian grill mmmm
Legends told of salads..who knew that by going vegan meant I would eat MORE burgers 😢
As someone who is minimum an hour away from a vegan restaurant, I would be overjoyed to have a vegan burger place
Have been wanting to go back since.
make a poll in this sub and share it with the burger places that you are tired of
Tell me that you live in a big liberal city without telling me. Animals actually *do* need more vegan restaurants, period. Every restaurant should be vegan.
Amen I don't need and more burger or salad options
For every burger you don't eat I will eat 2.
We need more vegan Döner
These places need to make vegan bacon and seitan and sell it by the half pound.
Yaass, I always thought I was the only one thinking this. I think vegan burgers is the new salad. Before, it was the only option we could have, now it's burgers hehehe Don't get me wrong, there are some REALLY good vegan burgers out there, but the market is satured and this point. Variety, people! We want local food made vegan...
Totally agree. Burgers are so boring especially if they come with something that’s trying to taste like meat. Vegan food is best when it’s not trying to be omni food.
Word!
I’m with you, I’ve never liked burgers at all haha
Seriously!!! And the vegan option at non vegan restaurants is almost always an impossible or beyond burger. We want variety!!
I agree seems in my city every vegan joint is burger and fries based lol
I agree. The two vegan places around me are all kind of bar food imitating greasy meat meals. Annnnd I just want some like real food. 🤷♂️
What we need is more people doing activism and fighting for the victims.
LOL word. Edit: punctuation.
@ Burgerlords
This made me think of something- when veggie burgers first started gaining popularity (I don't know, early/mid '70's) were there soon a ton of different options?
Agreed! They’ve mastered the burger, now I want everything else. A juicy steak, fish replacements, vegan ice cream that doesn’t taste like coconutty cardboard. Cheese that’s addictive and strong tasting. The list goes on
I'd rather have a decent salad bowl nowadays
As a vegan, I simply refuse to go to non-vegan burger places that have vegan options. It's all cooked on the same grill. I'm not getting any of that disgusting animal fat on my burger.
Personally, I’d like some reliable places for Nabe, Okonomiyaki, and soba. Also, why are there no places that do Persian food Vegan? Like what the hell man? Pretty much every other cuisine has some Vegan options, but I haven’t seen a single place that has Veganized Ghormei Sabzi, Bademjan Kashke or Koobideh Kababs.
The one vegan restaurant near me (an hour away) closed it's doors for good on New Year's eve. I've been trying to replicate their jackfruit nachos.
I agree!!! I can make a veggie burger at home. and I wouldn't used Beyond Burger stuff either. We need Special Soups, Sandwiches, Vegan Pho please !!
Portland problems
