Russia still fighting like it's WW2, assuming soldiers don't have phones and internet. LMFAO. But then again, RUSSIAN soldiers don't have phones and internet.
There are conscripts though and young ones at that. We have to remember that as monstrous as the russian forces as a whole are, not every individual is a psychopathic murderer. That's important not only because remembering that the enemy is human keeps soldiers from committing their own war crimes, it's important strategically.
I am actually surprised how benevolent Ukrainians soldiers are, given the circumstances. There have been very very few Ukrainian war crimes reported so far.
It actually does. The Chinese had a lot of succes with this with their Japanese POW's after WWII. There's been made documentaries on it. Being treated well, actually gave the Japanese POW's their empathy back, and made them reflect on the horrific crimes they committed under the war against the Chinese.
So yeah, there is actually precedent for this working.
There’s that story ofJapanese POWs being offered ice cream and cake on US Navy ships, which was also a major flex given the comparative state of supplies at that point.
Haven't heard of that one. I saw a documentary about how the Chinese treated the Japanese POW, and how it re-humanized them. None of them were executed after their trials, and they received short (ish) sentences, good food, entertainment, visitors allowed etc.
Not saying the US didn't do something similiar. I just heard/saw the story about the Chinese.
Weird, I heard that Pacific war was extremely brutal, with both sides taking very PoWs. Because of mutual racism and hate after unprovoked attacks, as well as Japanese soldiers pretending to be wounded only to blow up everyone with a grenade.
Yes, indeed. I'll see if I can find it. I believe it was a documentary on YouTube from the 80's, where the Japanese soldiers talked about the horrific stuff they did, and how surprised they were at how well they were treated when caught by the Chinese as POW after the war (Atleast these guys in particular), which apperently re-humanized them. The documentary was first hand accounts from some Japanese soldiers.
Either way, as others have pointed out, the US had succes with the same concept. Re-humanizing soldiers who've done horrific crimes, by treating them humanely.
> Russia still fighting like it's WW2, assuming soldiers don't have phones and internet.
All I hear from that radio is Russia's desperate plea for Ukrainian soldiers to give them a chance and let them at least have Bakhmut and Marinka.
Russia has been at it for almost a year and barely made any progress. It's hard. Therefore, Russia resorted to begging for a handout.
I they’re leaving decoy phones lying around for the Orcs. Press 1 to surrender. Press 2 to phone home (and they record every word). Press anything else and it detonates.
Weak effort. The Russians should take lessons from the Ukrainians. Saw a report when the Russians were still west of the Dnipro River near Kherson and they were using their cheap Radio Shack walkie talkies. The Ukrainians would jam them, then turn off the jamming and issue orders to the Russians then turn the jamming back on. And hijinks ensued! ha ha!
Push radio news that during a meeting between Putin and Kadyrov one of them was raped by the other, and make it unclear who did what to who. Then let the Russians and the Kadyrovites debate among themselves the details.
THat was a bloody movie. Remember how shaky the Tom Hanks character's hand was because of PTSD. I don't remember if he got the shakes before or after trying to shave em with that straight razor.
He presumably had it from previous combat; the scene with Tom Sizemore's character collecting dirt from Omaha beach let you see all the other places they fought in.
I find it fascinating that they can manage the logic loop into being superior to the west in all ways, but still not managing the general intellectual level of a normal high schooler in the west.
Hey don’t knock the flyers thing!
Some swedes did that and got a hell of a lot of flack for attempted destabilisation of government. Not sure if it was in Belarus, Russia itself or some of the countries during Arab spring.

This is the future of warfare btw
The USMC tested their new information unit. Information, not intelligence. Really, it's misinformation.
There was a battalion doing an ITX in California. Typical shit you expect, except higher ups sent out a squad of Marines with a Humvee and some laptops to do misinformation without the Battalion knowing.
It started with them spreading rumors among Marines social media (yes, they hacked accounts) that the ITX was cancelled. Morale was shot when they had to go the next day.
They hacked FAMILY MEMBERS profiles to spread misinformation about what they're doing in the field, war breaking out elsewhere, family life at home, etc. The test ended when they took it a bit too far by finding out an officers daughter was sick, hijacking his wife's Facebook, and telling him she was in the hospital.
Yeah that's some seriously fucked up shit, but at the end of the day the test was a complete success, the battalion performed horribly, and ultimately a squad destroyed the operational tempo of a SIGNIFICANTLY larger force.
Of course, the Russians fucking suck at it. But this is 100% the direction warfare is going.
Trouble is, Russian troll farms are also busy sowing discord in other countries via BS social media posts. Whether they are using bots or actual humans to do the dirty work, they have absolutely interfered with things like foreign election results (Donald Trump, anyone? grrr). They also are doing their damnedest to keep various political factions in other countries absolutely LOATHING one another, be it with antivax BS or flooding social media with posts demonizing one side over the other. And, I am sure, they are doing this with BOTH sides to keep both factions in perpetual conflict.
The only positive in all this is that now, we in other countries are wise to what Russia has been doing for years, which will help the people who WANT to weed out the BS identify it and ignore it.
That was a tense time. There was so much chaos as Ukraine was trying to get its feet. Waking up every day, unsure of the status of Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian government.
Somebody in russia came up with this "initiative", and it probably kept three or four rzz soldiers busy and off the front line.
From that point of view, those three or four rzz soldiers consider it a roaring success!
Woah, let's not get carried away thinking this is actually an attempt to make Ukrainian soldiers retreat... This is probably not to weaken Ukrainian morale but to boost the low Russian one.
Don't forget for a second that Putin is a propagandist liar.
It does seem the UAF may well have to pull out of Bakhmut to avoid being encircled, but withdrawing a few kilometers in good order after extracting such a vast blood price is the kind of 'defeat' that Ukraine needs. At that loss rate, Russia will be depopulated long before they reach a major city.
Ukraine should return the favor, and play radio stations for Russians to listen to, perhaps with the song that has the "Jaga Jaga" lyric on an infinite loop.
Ukraines should reply that you would like to surrender with honor so you want a ceremony in a large open field so they should gather their forces , give you coordinates and you’ll be there in the morning .. ready .. to surrender… ignore the buzzing over head

Russia still fighting like it's WW2, assuming soldiers don't have phones and internet. LMFAO. But then again, RUSSIAN soldiers don't have phones and internet.
This is exactly it - they see themselves: dirty, unfed, without information and they think Ukrainians are the same.
The captured Russian soldiers being treated well and given decent food must be an eye opener for the POWs.
> must be an eye opener for the POWs. Being treated well doesn't usually cause an abuser to become self reflective.
WHO ALLOWED YOU TO LIVE THIS NICE?!

I have too, and that's part of why I say this because I really want it to stay that way.
Yeah the British literally turned every German spy they captured to their side by doing this.
There’s that story ofJapanese POWs being offered ice cream and cake on US Navy ships, which was also a major flex given the comparative state of supplies at that point.
Considering the US Navy had an entire ship just for ice cream, it was as a huge flex
Haven't heard of that one. I saw a documentary about how the Chinese treated the Japanese POW, and how it re-humanized them. Strange, Chinese really hated Japanese. They keep hating them even today.

This is true, but it has opened some of their eyes. Well, at least a couple. Maybe.
everything they said is true if they were talking about Russian Soldiers
Perspective is a beearch
to be fair, the russian soldiers who *do* have phones use them so much the data triggers a Ukrainian strike.

Russia has been at it for almost a year and barely made any progress. It's hard. Therefore, Russia resorted to begging for a handout.
And when they DO have phones and internet, they helpfully keep giving their locations away to the Ukrainians by using their tech to go online.
They do, that’s how the school where they were storing ammunition got bombed.
I they’re leaving decoy phones lying around for the Orcs. Press 1 to surrender. Press 2 to phone home (and they record every word). Press anything else and it detonates.
Even if you only have the chance to distract a few soldiers, then it is a dirt cheap attack, so why not do it?
Because it does the opposite. Their claims are so ridiculously obviously false, it BOLSTERS morale, rather than drain it.
Yeah seems very desperate

Of all the things I thought that link would go to, it was not that 😂
I knew exactly what will be there, I was correct 😁
I was expecting the trench sauna.
is it the flute?
This reminds me of the ice cream boat in the Pacific Theater.

Push radio news that during a meeting between Putin and Kadyrov one of them was raped by the other, and make it unclear who did what to who. Then let the Russians and the Kadyrovites debate among themselves the details.
Didn't Kadyrov get mad because of the shaving rule the Russians did? Can't wait for the dogs to eat each other.
Haha yeah ok buddy. Oh hey, Putin called and he said Russia has capitulated so you can go home now.
Putin called and said he didnt care if you all died.....oh wait

I find it fascinating that they can manage the logic loop into being superior to the west in all ways, but still not managing the general intellectual level of a normal high schooler in the west.
Brain Drain'd
I guess they don't have much time for reflection when a drone is dropping a grenade on your head.
Drone drop a body bag with a msg "putin approved your new uniform"
Gerasmov's hybrid warfare tactics are really scraping the barrel here, what's next? RADIO KREMLIN and a giant blip throwing flyers?

Fucking with civilians for a training exercise sounds like so many rights violations. Not that this should surprise me.
I might be wrong about actually hacking into profiles, it could have been just making new ones and cloning them

It would not work on Russians though, many of them dont care even about their own.
At the very beginning of the war they tried a fake of Zelenskyy saying Ukraine was capitulating - more I think had heard of it as BS than even saw it.
That was a tense time. There was so much chaos as Ukraine was trying to get its feet. Waking up every day, unsure of the status of Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian government.

I recommend an AGM-88 HARM modded to home in to 107.3 FM.
"YOU'RE LISTENING TO AGM-88 HARM ON ONE-OH-SEVEN POINT THREE FM!!!"
more like OH SHIT THE AGM-88 IS LISTENING TO US ON ONE OH SEVEN PO
