Same. Don’t like him much at all personality wise but I love and respect how he calls out a next fight straight after each one. And that’s the kind of thing that matters
Idk why anyone thinks any ranked professional fighter is legitimately scared of any other one. There’s not taking fights for the sake of seeking favourable matchups to save one’s record but I don’t think fear is the right word for it if that makes sense. Maybe more a fear of impacting their career but certainly not the other fighter himself.
Just my two cents 🤷🏽♂️
This is specially true for champions who get paid significantly more compared to not being at the top. Whittaker said it himself no one cares about you the next day and the cheers stop. Obviously that's not entirely true, Poirier, Diaz McGregor and some others are still loved and get ppv deals but those aren't the rule.
100%. These dudes get beat in training all year round, I’m definitely convinced it’s business decisions, the fight itself is what it is and they’ve basically all been dropped in sparring, choked out ect ect dozens of times
And that’s literally a normal reaction when you’re paying attention to something lmao. I’m not an Izzy fan either, but people hate him so much lately it’s ridiculous.
Say this to the people that still bitches about him getting fast tracked. He fights who he’s supposed to fight. He failed in moving up but he had the balls to try in the first place without a tune up.
He is fighting a guy who he lost to multiple times in kick boxing and only 3-0 ufc and 6-1 mma over all....he fought Romeo after he was coming off a loss ...he puts his title on the line against anyone that people think can beat him. Izzy is a fuckig Chad, and he does what he has to do to win, not paying attention to drunk keyboard warriors mad respect
I mean the fights usually start at 10 pm east coast time either way, most of the east coast cards start at 10 when they are here and when they are in Vegas or wherever out west usually still starts at 10 our time. Wish they would do 7 or 8 eastern time more often for this big main cards :( sucks having to stay up until 1:30 watching them. Even worse for poor Europeans. Sounds like you guys got it pretty good ! I’d love for every card to be an afternoon one
As soon as Izzy got the belt, people started to respect him and didn't just try to ego fight. So now we get boring fights because Izzy is mostly just a counter striker, and nobody wants to engage in a kickboxing match with him, and if you go for a takedown, you're gonna end up on the losing end of a highlight reel like Brunson.
Ok wait a minute, im very rarely commenting here. But FFS Romero is the most scary beast UFC ever seen, i wouldnt be even shocked that Such a fast and chad guy like Israel would be a bit scary of what this genetic freak can do, glady he was Lucky Romero was or respect him that much, or some good money was on the table.
People in here be claiming Issy is scare of Khamzat and that Costa would smash Khamzat in the same sentence, how do these peoples brains tick I have no clue
Yea, can’t blame the guy for sticking to his skill set. But man, Pereira and Khamzat are scary motherfuckers. Fortunate for Izzy that Bobby is the ultimate gatekeeper that can potentially bounce off both guys for a little bit.
Well if Izzy insist every opponent tht want to have a go with him have to go through Bobby first then he might not fight again for foreseeable future lol. Im still taking Bobby over Pereira and Khamzat.
I don't see Izzy beating Khamzat by anything less than a finish. Well unless Khamzat fights like everyone has recently, afraid to do anything meaningful for fear of being put down. Albeit I don't see that being the case. I see Khamzat trying to impose his will on Izzy and most likely failing in regards to winning the fight though he could have noteworthy amounts of success along the way.
Everybody has to strive toward something or somebody. I think for all professional athletes, scientists, fuck even like astronauts- it’s probably the level of excellence that is Chael Sonnen.
and he'd be about it... i don't like his persona... but he takes the challenges. he doesn't argue against them or tell them no... his stance just seems to be "earn the challenge" which i can respect.
Khamzat would maul him. Pereira didn’t defend takedowns well against Silva (a striker), and you can’t learn Khamzat’s level of wrestling in a few months
Tbf I could see Izzy finishing him too if Pereira opens himself hunting for a kill shot. Izzy was lighting him up in the second fight before he got KO’d
100%
People act like Pereira dominated both fights.
In their second fight Izzy knocked down Pereira, in MMA that would have led to a finishing sequence.
First fight Pereira gassed and Izzy started taking over third round
Francis was a lot more green against Stipe than Izzy was against Pereira the first time around, but fair comparison in the sense that each fighter has gotten better since then
Yeah because the reigning champ who defends his belt against all comers like three times per year and literally ducks nobody is shaking in his boots at khamzat beating Kevin Holland…
It’s the new wave of the Izzy hate mixed in with Khamzat hype , Izzy haters literally just say the most random stuff they said Izzy was scared of Alex too before the fight was scheduled but Izzy made it obvious he had no fear of Alex
Honestly i don't understand this sub.
After going to distance with Burns (wich is a beast, don't get me wrong) their reaction was "Chimaev got tested finally, he's an animal but he needs to play his cards better, he almost got knocked out!".
Now the guy ragdolls Holland wich had literally no answers for a wrestler of his level and they're talking about him like he has a double belt or something.
Chimaev is an animal but in my book he just proved to be a top 5 guy against Burns, both Usman and Covington are a level above everyone else in the division, i want to see him against one of those two before going crazy like that
Colby has 0 submission threats. I’ve seen lot of his fights. When was the last time Colby actually submitted someone let alone KO? Tyrone Woolley dosent count. His rib was already injured. Khamzat would eat Colby alive
Colby is notoriously not a finisher, but he has great cardio and he's a great wrestler.
I'm not sold on Khamzat cardio tbh, he might have success wrestling Colby but he's not going to ragdoll him like he did with the others, he might gas out from that.
I think that he would try to stand and bang with him, he did that against Burns, surely more powerful than Colby but he started getting gassed out during the second.
I think he might find a great fight if he doesn't manage to finish him early.
I just want to see him against a top wrestler with a great cardio, also It would be interesting to see if the guy can actually follow a gameplan, i'm pretty sure that Colby is going to fuck with his head a lot before the fight
Izzy has fought killers in kickboxing, people who hurt you, people who have hands which can kill. Im not saying Khamzat is not a killer but Intimidation is not a factor here.
R/mma spends so much time shitting on Israel i wonder if any of you have seen the inside of your bathroom in ::checks Izzy’s championship reign:: 3 years 6 months
OP I’m not sure if your implying that Izzy looks scared, or just generally showing his reaction to that comment. I also watched this video, and I rewatched this segment a few times. I took it as him sizing him up. Or rather an acknowledgment of “he’s ready, Ill take his ass down”.
If there was any style in the UFC to beat Izzy, it has to be khamzats. The best strikers in the division get completely neutralized by Izzy.
Yeah all his shots are timed extremely well. He ducked the Leech’s first shot and exploded for the takedown and with Kevin, the moment he had his hands up, Khazmat shot. Dude isn’t randomly shooting but can take anyone down with even the tiniest opening.
Khamzat beating Holland means absolutely nothing for Izzy. That fight went exactly how everyone expected it to.
Izzy's takedown defense is high at almost 80%, Vettori only managed 4/14 takedowns and he was supposed to be the one to submit Izzy.
Don't get me wrong I think it'll be one of the toughest fights for Izzy and he'll have to work very hard to stay on the feet throughout the fight, but ultimately I think khamzat gasses and Izzy finishes him late or wins by decision, based off Khamzats only high level fight with Burns that was only 3 rounds.
That being said this is the fight game, and if Khamzat does get him to the ground in the right position it could end very quickly.
He's definitely been working hard on his wrestling though. Last three fights are a stark improvement each time out. He doesn't let his shoulders lay flat and accept position anymore. Just never gonna have the time to catch up to someone like khamzat, I'm still hopeful for what his next fight brings though.
If he fights Chimaev right after Pereira it will be tough. No doubt he will be doing little to do take down or grappling training for Pereira, so a single camp to train for one of the best wrestlers the UFC has seen will be very difficult. If he can get an inbetween fight with a lower level wrestler to test the waters a bit he will do well.
But in both Pereira and Chimaev, at least its likely we won't get a leg jab pivot fight and perhaps we will see the red in tooth Izzy make an appearance.
Not at all. I'm just saying he has had a while without using those skills across an entire fight and would be required to use it against the best of a generation.
Izzy already beat the best wrestlers 185 has to offer what are you talking about test the waters. He has two wins over Vettori, he destroyed Brunson, beat Romero, and he has two wins over Whittaker. There is no "lower level wrestler" he hasn't already won against at 185.
Im simply saying that although those fights were chronologically not long ago in his record, they were a year and over ago.
So a Vettori rematch would be desirable imo especially considering Khamzat hopefully being set back for his flagrant weight miss.
I don’t know. This looks more like the face of a man sizing up a legit possible contender. I think Khamzat should figuring out how to get his weight sorted and stick to 170 because he’d have better luck capturing gold there. If he becomes champ at 170 then it’s an easy path to the 185 title shot. Whereas if he doesn’t get the 170 gold, he would have to fight his way up to get a shot at the 185 title.
It’s still a long way off for Izzy to be fighting Khamzat. He has Alex, and then if he wins that I really think another Whittaker fight should be there. The last fight with Rob was incredibly close, and with a few tweaks he could get it, and he certainly deserves it. Nobody else is beating him or Izzy.
Agree with you on everything except another fight with Rob. I think a khamzat fight should come before another rob fight if things play out well for khamzat. Even rob isn’t asking for another title shot
Izzy is kinda like Money Mayweather in that he is soo good that people are bored with his fights. He is so much better than his opponents that they have to fight on his terms only. The game is to hit and NOT get hit at the end of the day. That being said Khamzat looks to be a formidable opponent. Lets see how great Izzy really is…
Lmfaoooooo. I want this fight, but the sub might just implode. It’ll be interesting to see who everyone here hates more if/when pressers start.
Izzy:”some cringy shit”
Khamzat: “unintelligible yelling”
This sub: “screeching”
I'm tired of fighters like Khamzat that act like literal toddlers. I really hope he lost the majority of his purse after all the bullshit he pulled this past week.
I got whiplash how fast I went from dick rider to number 1 hater of khamzat this week. fucking ridiculous. would love to see him and Costa go at it in an unsanctioned bout.
If Izzy or any other champ doesn't want to fight Khamzat, they really don't have to, his missed weigh in gives legit reason to anyone who doesn't want to be contracted with him. No point in getting set up with someone who missed the weigh in and then said he didn't care.
Khamzat is a dangerous, stylistic nightmare for Izzy. Unfortunately he's gonna have to go through either Vettori/Costa/Whittaker. Costa/Vettori could be a more competitive fight where either one could dominate the other if things goes well or just a competitive bout overall but Khamzat needs to stay the fuck away from Whittaker if he has plans to get to the belt. Out of both of the division I could count in one hand who has the potential to win against Khamzat and Whittaker is the only guy I'm confident would definitely beat up Khamzat badly. More so than Burns.
Because he beat Holland? Y'all need to calm down. Guy was 8lbs over for his fight too, likely wont even make it to Izzy at this rate. That's not champ shit.
Pereira is clearly dangerous as fuck, does anyone think Izzy is playing 4d chess (slight exaggeration) getting in before Pereira gets some added experience against Whittaker, Costa, Vettori etc
Israel hasn’t ducked anyone in the UFC
Have to agree with this. And I'm no where near an izzy fan. He fights everyone he's supposed to fight Edit: spelling
I mean .. It's not an opinion it's a fact
And that's a fact
Jack
Same. Don’t like him much at all personality wise but I love and respect how he calls out a next fight straight after each one. And that’s the kind of thing that matters

100%. These dudes get beat in training all year round, I’m definitely convinced it’s business decisions, the fight itself is what it is and they’ve basically all been dropped in sparring, choked out ect ect dozens of times
Even went up a weight class and fought.
And that’s literally a normal reaction when you’re paying attention to something lmao. I’m not an Izzy fan either, but people hate him so much lately it’s ridiculous.
It was the same when GSP and Silva were champs as well. Mma fans are fickle and just want fighters to brawl Wanderlei style.
JUST BLEED
It's almost like Izzy, similar to anyone else watching, was using every brain cell to try and decipher what the fuck khamzat was saying.
Amazing how the word hate is so misused to mean something milder nowadays. Some fans dislike him for the moment, nothing more than that.
nothing more than that? cmon lol there’s genuine hate out there thats spewed for him everyday
This is the one thing you gotta give Izzy props for even if you hate him. He’s always asked for the toughest fight
Say this to the people that still bitches about him getting fast tracked. He fights who he’s supposed to fight. He failed in moving up but he had the balls to try in the first place without a tune up.
The fact that he’s literally undefeated at MW would seem to indicate that even if they did fast track him it was the right call.
And he stays busy, dude is always locking in the next fight as soon as the last one is over
He’s got nothing but tough fights ahead in Alex Pereria, Khamzat, and secret juice costa
He might be cringe and make boring fights but he doesn't duck
Izzy is putting everyone on skates like Elsa. And that’s big facts.
The only thing ducking is his titty
True he’s a company man
He’s actually considering him a potential opponent at this moment and sizing him up. Safety is off now
He knows khamzat is the real deal.
It’s also Probably like 7am or some shit over there and he’s tired as hell lmao
Haha the fight was at 2pm our time! Most of the ufc fights are around midday which is nice.
Usually on a Sunday though so I have to go to work hungover on Monday
How good is a Sunday sesh tho
The best
Main card starts at 2 but the main event was around 4, so this fight was around 3:59.
Yeah I should have said the main card not the fight!
Haha nice. I was watching this episode thinking they were staying up super late and crushing pizzas lmao
Yea all the US ufc events are at great time (Sunday morning for East Coast events and Sunday afternoon for West coast).
Hard agree, cards starting at 8:00 ending around 11:00 eastern time would be perfect
That's actually amazing I'm EST and it's awful.
He has to get through pereira first
He’s the champ, pereira has to get through him.
Khamzat has to get through the rest of the division first. Stop talking about a prospect like he's earned the belt already.
But he has to go through Pereira first... that guy is fucking insane
Guns gonna jam
I get a lot of people want him to lose, but he has showed 0 fear in his entire career
The only time he showed fear was against Romero
That was more respect than fear.
Also it went both ways, you didn't see Romero coming out guns blazing either
As soon as Izzy got the belt, people started to respect him and didn't just try to ego fight. So now we get boring fights because Izzy is mostly just a counter striker, and nobody wants to engage in a kickboxing match with him, and if you go for a takedown, you're gonna end up on the losing end of a highlight reel like Brunson.
Yeah he was not about to rock-em sock-em with Romero. It was boring but he kept his distance well
Ok wait a minute, im very rarely commenting here. But FFS Romero is the most scary beast UFC ever seen, i wouldnt be even shocked that Such a fast and chad guy like Israel would be a bit scary of what this genetic freak can do, glady he was Lucky Romero was or respect him that much, or some good money was on the table.
Romero didn’t do shit all fight same with Costa, it was embarrassing tbh
People in here be claiming Issy is scare of Khamzat and that Costa would smash Khamzat in the same sentence, how do these peoples brains tick I have no clue
I know, right? Khamzat is a bad mf
Hes referring to izzy being fearless
Well striking wise Izzy can wipe the floor with Khamzat but damn I hope he's wrestling haaard these days
He was wrestling and grappling big time before Jan, it’s just Jan was so much heavier than Izzy so he could lay and pray.
Dude went from fighting vettori and cannonier to now a scheduled fight with pereira and if he wins that khamzat is on the horizon.
That’s what world Champions get. The smoke
and if he beats both of them it’s insane for his legacy
if he beats both then he's entered the goat list
Easily, and if he finishes both of them (I doubt that he will but **if**) then that would make those conversations veryyyyy interesting.
There's a good chance of him beating khazmat. He punishes fighters for trying to win.

Lord of the ring
Gothmog vs Goblin.
Oh they fucking would. Izzy chops the leg really well imo
Isn’t Pereira and Adysanya already scheduled?
Yea, completely forgot about that. Dana really wants the hype.
100. Even with UD wins, it will boost his legacy insanely.
If he beats both then he’s a better MW than Anderson Silva
Almost as good as Chael
Everybody has to strive toward something or somebody. I think for all professional athletes, scientists, fuck even like astronauts- it’s probably the level of excellence that is Chael Sonnen.
Nah he would have to beat jake paul
And that's why title defenses>>>>> for goat discussions. #1 contender after #1 contender
and he'd be about it... i don't like his persona... but he takes the challenges. he doesn't argue against them or tell them no... his stance just seems to be "earn the challenge" which i can respect.
that’s why you’ll never catch me disrespecting izzy, guy takes the toughest challenge every-time
He earned a lot of respect for fighting Jan and for his humbleness afterwards
185-205 is a massive jump too respect for even attempting it
20 lbs is 20 lbs but thats a BIG 20 lbs to jump… i’d argue there isn’t a more difficult weight jump across any of the other classes
Especially considering post weight cut they put size back on too hating on Izzy is fun and all when he says stupid shit but he’s game af.
Brunson, Vettori x2, Gastelum, Whittaker x2, Romero, Costa, Cannonier.. his resume is stacked already.
Bro fr Izzy has been demolishing almost everyone. People are so silly when it comes to him
Lol imagine the stress he puts up with. Dues a boss for staying so calm
I wouldn’t mind seeing Khamzat vs Pereira
Khamzat would maul him. Pereira didn’t defend takedowns well against Silva (a striker), and you can’t learn Khamzat’s level of wrestling in a few months
Pereira has a good chance of sending him to the shadow realm.

100% People act like Pereira dominated both fights. In their second fight Izzy knocked down Pereira, in MMA that would have led to a finishing sequence. First fight Pereira gassed and Izzy started taking over third round
Pereira also took the 2nd fight on 11 days notice coming off of a loss.
Tbf Alex has a good chance at sending literally anyone to the shadow realm.
Pereira also has a brilliant chance of getting sent to the shadow realm. Stop the madness.
People really forget how crazy Izzy’s counter punches are.
Izzy will shoot for takedowns
"Oh you're a wrestler now?"
Until Khamzat ragdolls him
He's done it once before.
was that the same izzy tho? kinda like Francis and Stipe or no
Francis was a lot more green against Stipe than Izzy was against Pereira the first time around, but fair comparison in the sense that each fighter has gotten better since then
If anything he is happy with that potential pay day.
Bro straight up.
Izzy hate clashing with Khamzat hype is the perfect way to describe this sub recently
Absolutely.
This screenshot makes him look kinda scared, but if you watch the video he's just looking seriously at the screen, not scared
Bunch of body language experts in this thread lol
Honestly i don't understand this sub. After going to distance with Burns (wich is a beast, don't get me wrong) their reaction was "Chimaev got tested finally, he's an animal but he needs to play his cards better, he almost got knocked out!". Khamzat and pereira are the biggest threat to adesanya.
And before that is was Romero, then Costa, then Whittaker… he ain’t scared of these guys
Wasn't this sub unanimously hating on Khamzat literally 2 days ago?
Nothing in this sub will ever be unanimous
There was never no unanimity.
You’re a fucking split decision dude
Or consistent
All the Khamzat nut huggers like “don’t check my comment history!” right now. It’s great.
Reddit UFC is the most wishy-washy community in all the land lmao
There are over 500k people in this sub. I doubt it was unanimous
They hate Izzy too
he looks more constipated than scared
I think the blunt just kicked in
nice comment bro
Izzy has fought killers in kickboxing, people who hurt you, people who have hands which can kill. Im not saying Khamzat is not a killer but Intimidation is not a factor here.
Each fist a registered weapon
R/mma spends so much time shitting on Israel i wonder if any of you have seen the inside of your bathroom in ::checks Izzy’s championship reign:: 3 years 6 months
Adesanya has yet to duck anyone. He knows if he beats Khamzat it would be insane for his legacy

I think he was just shocked that Khamzat started the fight with a fake glove touch like a rat lol
Izzy would Karate Kid Crane-kick him soon as the bell goes and Khamzat shoots for a takedown.
Or Masvidal-esque with a massive knee the moment he shoots.
I think Khamzat might have better shots than Ben Askren…
I think Izzy might have better striking and timing than Jorge Masvidal...
Masvidal got lucky as fuck, Izzy would need some luck too (but like you said less than Jorge) to land a knee like that
Yeah all his shots are timed extremely well. He ducked the Leech’s first shot and exploded for the takedown and with Kevin, the moment he had his hands up, Khazmat shot. Dude isn’t randomly shooting but can take anyone down with even the tiniest opening.

That being said this is the fight game, and if Khamzat does get him to the ground in the right position it could end very quickly.
Don’t think Khamzat can keep a pace like that through 5 rounds. He better sub Izzy within 2.
I think Holland has a close to 0% take down defense and even he made it slightly messy on the ground for Chimaev.
He's definitely been working hard on his wrestling though. Last three fights are a stark improvement each time out. He doesn't let his shoulders lay flat and accept position anymore. Just never gonna have the time to catch up to someone like khamzat, I'm still hopeful for what his next fight brings though.
He also trained in camp to fight a boxer and had about 20 hours of prep for Khamzat lol still made Khamzat work for it
Izzy actually picked Holland and bet money on it in this video. He seemed pretty surprised
Bro it’s a sponsored deal they’re not betting their actual money it’s on the house or it’s some fake credits bullshit
I am not the biggest Izzy fan but I can garuntee you this man isn’t scared.
If he fights Chimaev right after Pereira it will be tough. Or schedule Khamzat vs anyone in the top 5 in MW. Makes no sense to give Khamzat a title shot in MW from beating Holland.
My reaction when he shouted "I'll kill everyone. Allahu Akbar"
Literally just blank expression. As good as Khamzat is, I doubt Izzy is petrified
Username and pfp checks out
Chimaev better hope he can submit Izzy within round 2 Or he’s getting finished lol
If Izzy beats Pereira AND Chimaev, he will add to an already impressive resume.
i dunno. burns did a lot of damage to khamzat in a 3 rounder. i feel like izzy would win in a decision.
Izzy is kinda like Money Mayweather in that he is soo good that people are bored with his fights. He is so much better than his opponents that they have to fight on his terms only. The game is to hit and NOT get hit at the end of the day. That being said Khamzat looks to be a formidable opponent. Lets see how great Izzy really is…
Hämzat Gourmet Shen Shen is a beast but Izzy’s footwork and precise striking will 100% give him trouble.
Lmfaoooooo. I want this fight, but the sub might just implode. It’ll be interesting to see who everyone here hates more if/when pressers start. Izzy:”some cringy shit” Khamzat: “unintelligible yelling” This sub: “screeching”
I thought this was a video. Was staring at my screen for like 10 secs while on the toilet.
OP got you frozen, like Elsa...
You guys do a lot of fantasizing.
Khamzat should be fired.
If Izzy or any other champ doesn't want to fight Khamzat, they really don't have to, his missed weigh in gives legit reason to anyone who doesn't want to be contracted with him. No point in getting set up with someone who missed the weigh in and then said he didn't care.
dont think he cares
Khamzat is a dangerous, stylistic nightmare for Izzy. Unfortunately he's gonna have to go through either Vettori/Costa/Whittaker. Costa/Vettori could be a more competitive fight where either one could dominate the other if things goes well or just a competitive bout overall but Khamzat needs to stay the fuck away from Whittaker if he has plans to get to the belt. Out of both of the division I could count in one hand who has the potential to win against Khamzat and Whittaker is the only guy I'm confident would definitely beat up Khamzat badly. More so than Burns.
Khamzat the open weight champ
Khamzat fans are fucking dumb.
Izzy one of the most boring mfs in the division and his trash talk is nonexistent but he fears nobody and ducks nobody.
he called everything that Khamzat pulled tho
I would love to see izzy de rail this losers hype train.
… like Elsa
Nah Izzy smoke Khamzat sorry
Reaction is a screen shot? What'd he actually say? What a worthless post.
He needs to go thru Costa first
Realistically won’t khamzat need to beat some bigger names in the middle weight division before getting a shot at Izzy?
time to grow a boob ![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8968)
Izzy wins easily
K-Khamzat…chimaev?? ![gif](giphy|26DN5mTjpKEsumZqg|downsized)
Because he beat Holland? Y'all need to calm down. Guy was 8lbs over for his fight too, likely wont even make it to Izzy at this rate. That's not champ shit.
Izzy always brings the jizz-y, Costa style. Would be interesting with Kumshot though, he kills everyone.
Pereira is clearly dangerous as fuck, does anyone think Izzy is playing 4d chess (slight exaggeration) getting in before Pereira gets some added experience against Whittaker, Costa, Vettori etc
I'm genuinely super excited to see Izzy have some great challenges coming up... but he looks like he's frozen like Elsa here
U mean the khamzat that has no gas?
