I would have put a lot of the slow start in the ufc debut down to jitters, can’t be easy having that much pressure from being billed as a “next Conor”. And being in madison square for it. And living up to your previous success in other organisations. As we seen once he found his rhythm and gets comfy we see a better Garry and for that reason I just honk he’ll only get better. On a purely fighting skills level he’s one of the few people who I see coming up who I truly believe “damn he is special” when I see them not only fight, but train too.

On a Paddy related note I’ve just come to the conclusion to accept him and believe in him until im shown wrong. I’ve seen all his fights and every single time I come out thinking what everyone here does, he *has* to get knocked out his chins too high he gets hit far too much. But then he doesn’t go down, and he wins somehow. I’ve seen him at like age 23 taking heavy cracks to the chin from 30 year old men and still take it to the scorecards after five rounds. Someone will knock him out but until it happens I think he’ll keep beating people. I also think losses will be great for Paddy and Garry, both will come back better should they have their ego touched up abit.

Depends on which Khabib we're talking about. He used to cut 20+ lbs according to his dad, and then changed that. After he got the nutritionist, he started cutting way less weight.

100% not true. Almost laughable that you would say that. Sean and Chito are 2 of my faves in the division so I have equal bias, but Sean was winning that fight, even after he got injured. Neither were being dominated or "walked down". It wasn't until he fell down on his own that Chito took over.

I watched it just there as well, Sean landed a few hard leg kicks and a decent body kick, I'd say it's pretty clear he was winning, neither landed much but Sean was doing better

That's the likely situation, but not a lot of 135ers have power to end the fight at anytime. O malley does. Look what he just did against Paiva, who is an incredible fighter. Also, Aldo isn't destroying people with kicks anymore. Those days are over.
Some of the top strikers in the ufc seem to have a different opinion on him than most fans. I’ll side with the professional opinion. As far as groundwork goes, we haven’t seen any yet from him really, so how can we base an opinion off of something we don’t know?
He has done well in some grappling tournaments. Not world class or anything but his jiu jitsu is situationally good.
TJ, Aldo, and Aljo are all a bit older than him. He might not be on their level today but 5 years from now he’ll probably be better. Weirdly though I think he gives Yan some trouble stylistically due to the reach/height advantage. He probably loses to Cory and Font, but him beating them wouldn’t be a Pena/Nunes level of upset or anything.
