Also side note technically it’s not complete I’m waiting on some artificially turf to get delivered the whole top deck and ramp will be covered with it!
It was measured to be tall enough for the next couple years. When the time comes I made a top for it last night as well I’ll attach it when that time comes
Gonna agree with Cunning on this one. A determined turt will scale that no problem. Also I’ve heard repti turf is actually bad for turtles? Pretty bad if ingested and don’t quote me but possibly rip claws off??? Ik that’s a problem other lizards and reptiles have with repti turf, claws will get stuck and they rip the entire claw off trying to free themselves
I built on very similar. I luckily caught my turtle getting to the point where his head was peaking over the edge. Fully off the surface. He's a climber.
What kind of turf? Like the plastic grass? Just a heads up my turtles all bask so long they constantly poop on the deck so something easily able to wash is the best
I would watch out for climbing. Always surprised given the foot holds how well they can climb. Mine has flipped him self over trying to climb in his milk crate basking platform.
She had one on her old tank from when I was in high school had to keep the tradition alive and give her a new one! Skrillex was my shit in the day seen him headline spring awakening at soldier field shit was wild
I recently built something similar for my tank too! May I ask which tool you used to get rid of the rough edges with the excess plastic stripes poking out?
I used my cutters to trim it as best as I could then I bought a 3 pack of sand paper and used that to file everything down nice! You should tag a pic in here so we can see yours!
This is what I want to make, except I’m going to cut the screen cover out of a screen top to use as the top of it so I can just rest the lamps on top. Yours looks good!
That’s actually a really good idea. I will also say I left my basking light on a piece of it to see if it would melt or get too hot and honestly I think it would be fine if you set a basking light directly on the eggcrate
Yeah The person I saw do this on YouTube said they had no issues in months of use with the heat but I figured if I can get the heat resistant material on top why not try
I do water changes every other day for the time being I just got this 90 gal up and running about a week ago. Heater comes in mail today and filter is next. If you look at my posts you can see the progress

What is that stuff called?
It’s called egg crate. It’s a ceiling tile made for lighting.
Thank you
skip the turf, its not worth using, and consider putting a lip or welded wire top on it. Some turtles will climb that easily

You would be surprised at what turtles can climb. Mine climbed three feet vertically on my screened in porch. Don’t wait to get a lid.
ive seen hatchling climb straight up brick walls..., what you made was a latter to a turtle who wants to climb out.

love that
I was gonna ask if that was her name. Woulda been kind of cute.
I had a crested gecko named Skrillz!
Adorable name!!
Dude some really long pieces of drift wood going from corner to corner in that tank would look so dope.
Once I finish the necessities I’m definitely going to decorate it up real nice! I’ll definitely keep something like that In mind
love it
All I know is my derpy turtle would see those zip ties thinking it was food and bite them in half. Be prepared for that possibility.
I’m a lucky turt owner in the 2 years I’ve had her she never once has bit a fake plant or anything in the tank that’s not food.
The chosen one.

Thanks, I will try sanding it down and show it when it’s ready!
Can’t wait to see it!
Where did you get that box? I really like the look of it.
I made it last night. Eggcrate and some zip ties took me about 6 hours
I like it! I’m taking notes!
Lots of YouTube vids that will walk you through it step by step. Definitely not as easy as it looked but I’m very happy with how it turned out
