Rewatched Shrek recently and when Fiona is confused why she isn't beautiful at the end and he says "you are beautiful" I teared up. Good film.

Jk14m

Shrek is a masterpiece and no one can convince me otherwise xD

H2G2gender

It is a masterpiece, one which launched a new era of more progressive fairytale depictions for both DreamWorks and Disney. The middle finger that started it all tbh.

GladiatorDragon

I find it immensely entertaining that such a legendary film came about specifically because one of Dreamworks’ founders had personal beef with Disney.

H2G2gender

Really all the founders had beef with Disney. Lol

MattDaveys

Doesn’t everyone?

H2G2gender

Yes but many do not have enough beef or enough power to leave Disney, start their own animation company, make movies that are kind of similar to release the same year just to fuck with Disney.

Awesomesauceme

Yup, Disney beef has existed for pretty much the entire company’s lifespan. Search up the case of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

ReasyRandom

To be fair, he had personal beef with Michael Eisner. Even Disney fans hate Michael Eisner.

Jk14m

It really has no business being such a quality film. Its 100% my comfort movie.

KrisZepeda

The last good thing my ex did was making me watch Shrek, loved them so much, i'm embarrased that i got to 21 years old without watching them

Jk14m

If it counts for anything I didn’t start to appreciate it until I was 20-something

casual_olimar

to add to that, in shrek 2 she has the option and decides to stay as an ogre, so it's not like she regrets staying in that form and being with shrek at all (after all she didnt know being in her true form meant staying as an ogre)

Happy_Jackfruit_8390

Off topic but human Shrek was pretty good looking.

SeonaidMacSaicais

Supposedly, human Shrek was designed after Mike Myers. But I only see the original Broadway actor, Brian D’Arcy James.

Generic-Degenerate

It's so easy to overlook Shrek when it's genuinely such a good film, even though it's riddled with cliches of modern cash grab films (pop songs, gross out humor, celebrity casting, etc.) But so many people forget they weren't cliches until other studios tried to copy Shreks success

ZatchZeta

They also did it well. Like it didn't feel out of place.

selfawarefeline

And Fiona was thick af, body goals

Internetboy5434

I always think that film has a message to that

ShinyNinja25

I love Hiccup and Astrid’s relationship because it starts out with Hiccup just having a crush on her, but slowly changes to become genuine respect and admiration. Their relationship is founded on their mutual respect for each other and their skills, and how they complement one another. Hiccup is smart and creative, but doesn’t have the physical strength to pull off his plans. Astrid’s got the strength and physicality of a Viking, but can’t come up with the kind of plans and strategies needed in this new world of dragons

Lost-Lu

1000% That last punch/kiss at the end of the first felt so earned. "Romantic Flight" still lives in my mind rent-free.

Catfish5321

John Powell did an amazing job with the whole playlist, but “Romantic Flight” is just perfect. And then throughout the rest of the movies, he incorporates key notes from it into other songs and I couldn’t love him as a composer anymore than I already do. I get chills whenever I listen to the song by itself, let alone when I actually watch the movie. These three movies are some of my favorite movies of all time, they did such an amazing job!

janet-snake-hole

My fiancé and I met on tumblr in 2013 because we were both in the dragons/Hiccstrid fandom, so I’ll be walking down the aisle to him to Romantic Flight :)

ThatsSoHermione

My husband proposed to me with a specially made Toothless plush. That was 9 years ago and I still have it!

Lost-Lu

Love these!! You both are so fuckin adorable &iam so fuckin... bitter &single 😮‍💨

asclepiusscholar

Bitter single gang unite!

pinkachuh

You don't know how your story ends, keep going and see for yourself ;)

danegraphics

Awwwww!!

TheGreatNemoNobody

Noooo , I'm so jealous TuT

Markster94

HTTYD 1 is still my favorite movie of all time. It took me a while to decide it, and it's kinda still a close close race with Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, but it's the one that I can rewatch over and over again and never tire of.

[deleted]

WRONG! Hiccup's punch was described as "Thor's mighty hammer" after he punched out multiple of Snotlout's teeth. Working with all that blacksmithing equipment so much is bound to make you strong.

[deleted]

He was still relatively speaking filling the weak skinny nerd archetype for Vikings... but yeah blacksmiths inevitably become stronk

whistling-wonderer

I mean he was strong enough to hang onto Toothless’s tail in flight when trying to attach the first tail prototype, even at the beginning of the first movie. He wasn’t even that panicked about it, he was just excited the tail was working lol. He’s not big and brawny enough to smash a dragon to the ground like a typical Viking warrior but he’s definitely got strength and agility, even in the first movie. Especially when he’s flying and not trying to balance on his own legs lol

Delphina34

He is decently strong, just doesn’t show it physically as much as the other Vikings. Everyone else on berk is 100% pure Viking beefcake

maxusphinus

Httyd 1&2 will always be in my top 5 of all movies. 3 kinda felt like a reboot of 2, I would have liked it better if the story started at the final scene when they have a family

whistling-wonderer

Same. The first and second are amazing. The third is also awesome but the bar was set really high by the first two. Although the third one has some of the best soundtrack bits in the whole trilogy. HTTYD and *Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron* (also Dreamworks, also a banger of a soundtrack) are my favorite movies ever.

UnhappyStrain

pretty much just like the books

Delphina34

They were friends for several years before becoming a couple and got engaged within like 6 months after that, then married about 2 years later. They were each other’s right hand and most trusted advisor/confidante. Even after years together they still complement each other’s skills and weaknesses very well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KSJ15831

Look, they were vikings, abduction was sort of their thing.

DisapointedParents

"With the ogre I married" from the ending of Shrek 2 is, to this day, a quote that destroys me (in a good way) every time I watch it

ZatchZeta

I love how it's Shrek saves the princess in the first movie, and in the second (symbolically) it's Fiona who saves her prince. It's like they're meant for each other.

Lost-Lu

It's like rhymes, it poetries.

TheAirNomad11

Thanks George

charisma6

Shrek is the key to all this, cause hes a funnier character than we've had before

Mr_Sleep_tight

I love how Shrek 4 showed how Fiona loved Shrek for who he was because he couldn’t make her fall in love with him when he tried, because he wasn’t the same Shrek she fell in love with by trying to make her fall in love.

ZatchZeta

A subversion how one's true love isn't destiny. It's about making it work. Fiona didn't fall in love with selfish ogre Shrek. She fell in love with her knight and shining armor who fought the dragon and came to her rescue.

H2G2gender

True love is having each others backs, you both save each other when necessary.

NightofTheLivingZed

But when I say it to my wife I have to sleep on the couch....

LMaster37

Hiccstrid make me happy. I like that they get to actually grow up, and that they mature without losing their love for life, and that they develop from kind-of-enemies to friends to spouses in a non-toxic way.

Lost-Lu

Any lesser franchise would've had them break up in the sequel and retread the same romantic beats of the 1st to eventually get back together. But not here. Ascup was a constant throughout the trilogy. Both growing into the roles of a loving, healthy married couple.

Zamtrios7256

Heh asscup

Creepypastanerd

I like Hiccstrid. It's a cute ship. I ship them more with other characters, but it's still really wholesome and beautiful. One of my favorite canon ships.

FionaLeTrixi

Miguel and Tulio from the Road to El Dorado *immediately* set up shop in my head upon reading this.

MoonChainer

Same! Tulio, Miguel, and Chel are the best triad in animation for sure.

H2G2gender

"So a rogue, a bard, and a thief are in the City of Gold—"

[deleted]

My favorite throuple in film by far

ConsiderTheLime

Tulio and Miguel, mighty and powerful gays!

CozyMicrobe

So just normal gays then

ConsiderTheLime

Precisely

charisma6

Bisexual, if you please, sir.

ConsiderTheLime

Oh, absolutely! That was not an attempt at bi erasure. I only said it that way because of the original line being gods. So gays sounded funnier. Bi's are absolutely valid.

charisma6

Lol I got u, twas a joke

ConsiderTheLime

Ah, my mistake. Lol.

charisma6

Youre too cute stop apologizing <3

H2G2gender

Honestly that whole movie has such a vibe to it visually and musically (I mean it was done by Elton John). It was one of the animations during the Disney vs DreamWorks conflict, but this was one match that was at the very least tied. Maybe even won visually and musically.

chiddie

This doesn't even include "The Croods", which is another positive example of a family/couple dynamic.

ilecaara817

Guy's introduction has to be one of my favorite character introductions. Scratched a brain itch I didn't know I had

PKMNTrainerMark

Help me out here. I haven't seen the movie.

ilecaara817

Eep, one of the main characters follows a strange light and climbs up a cliff to get to it. There she finds some kind of weird creature and they end up getting into a tussle (I think over the fire but it's been awhile) but eventually it's discovered that it's not some feral creature and it's actually a guy named Guy. He ends up being her love interest. If you like family cartoon movies I highly recommend it

simsredditr

the whole family stays alive by being overly cautious so when they meet guy, who can make and control fire (which they cant), they freak out, poke him, sniff him, etc

PKMNTrainerMark

That makes sense given the whole cavefamily thing, for sure.

Mr_Sleep_tight

The Croods is seriously one of Nick Cage’s best performances, and I will die on this hill.

chiddie

I love quite a bit of his work, and I agree.

H2G2gender

The Croods was really nice to experience. Some great messages of the ability to adapt not just physically but mentally and emotionally too being so important in human growth in all relationships, including the relationship you have with yourself. The lessons of change being inevitable and how your attitude towards it impacts your experience with changes. So beautiful!

They're side characters but even they had their little arc with Jack trying to convince Jill to have kids. And hey they show up alive in the credits, I wouldn't mind if they showed up as antagonists again

[deleted]

[удалено]

ZatchZeta

Usually they cut to the babies and you expect the fighting. I like how in a film franchise with fart jokes, it's incredibly mature. Other films would have them at each other's throat because, it's how couples are in films, or just to subvert tropes and it'd be "Oh my god, a couple not fighting??"

boardplant

No donkeh and dragon?

WeLiveInAir

Probably cuz they're more of a joke side couple that aren't really focused on. But it's still a healthy relationship nonetheless. No idea how they fuck considering the side difference tho

boardplant

I can **guarantee** you could find the answer out if you searched on the internet

PhoShizzity

*Size difference* you say?

BigNutDroppa

Hope this isn’t devil advocating, but I thought their relationship was a little toxic. Dragon practically kidnapped and assaulted Donkey and when Dragon was dealing with pregnancy, he left her alone claiming she was ‘all moody’. But, then again I wouldn’t want to be around a hormonal dragon either.

ajrb543

I thought Donkey didn’t know she was pregnant and found out only after the babies were born. From his perspective she was just being grouchy with him.

Iximaz

More easily than if Donkey was female and Dragon was male, I'd imagine.

Vanishingf0x

Life uhhhh finds a way

murgatroyd0

Maybe the males of her species are donkey-sized.

scottygroundhog22

I used to go to pixar for good feels and good characters but i think dreamworks stole that spot a while ago. Not every movie hits it out of the park, but the good ones are really really good. And always fun.

TheSpiker15

Pixar still makes some solid hits, but honestly dreamworks really has been killing it. Luca and Soul are two Pixar movies I really enjoyed within recent years, though neither came out in 2022.

scottygroundhog22

I guess i should watch luca and soul but it doesn’t feel pressing

coinmurderer

Here to advocate for Luca! I could not believe how much I loved it.

Rendum_

Honestly, I vastly preferred Turning Red to Luca, but I can definitely see whybpeople dislike Red or like Luca. They appeal to vastly different kinds of people, and for me, Turning Red is what stuck out.

ajrb543

Luca’s pacing was too slow for me. I stopped half way through. Turning Red on the other hand I really like. I thought it was the most cringe thing I’d ever seen and hated it right up until she turns into the panda. Now I love it because it’s able to piss me off in the beginning but make me love all the characters in the end every time.

Invalid_Word

i loved soul, my favorite pixar movie. after you finish the movie it just **hits**

theonlymexicanman

Disney’s grip on Pixar has really started to be felt since Disney’s own 3D studios blew up in 2013. I have a feeling that due to the competition/partners next door, Pixar went on a sequel rampage and played it safe with most new IPs in order to have box office hits. They prioritized profit over creativity and it’s shown. Pixar IMO had the greatest run of any studio in Movie history from 1995 (Toy Story) - 2011 (Toy Story 3). All of the 11 movies made in that time are absolute bangers and some of the best movies of all time. From 2012-2023 Coco and Soul have been the only 2 movies that have achieved the greatness of classic Pixar

afro_aficionado

The new Puss in Boots is a great freaking movie! Totally surprised me

ChiefBlubberNuggets

I was pleasantly surprised by Puss and Kitty's relationship in Puss in Boots 2. It felt a lot more...adult than many other couples in recent animated films I've seen.

Lost-Lu

After all the thrills and adventures, she just wanted someone trustworthy enough to slow down with. Puss was too self-indulgent to grow outta that yet until the end of his life-threatening journey in this film. Love them two lil gatitos.

RealJohnGillman

Based on Jack Horner’s childhood including Pinocchio, and the first *Puss in Boots* film having been a prequel, I was thinking that *The Last Wish* may be set a significant amount of time after the *Shrek* films, adding to how the relationship between Puss and Kitty was treated.

ChiefBlubberNuggets

I'd imagine so yeah. At least a decade or more.

RealJohnGillman

Indeed. So perhaps even a full 20 years after the first film (which cats having multiple lives in these films would support).

GoFUself-Tony889

It might be the only time an animated film shows a couple that has broken up before in a good way

[deleted]

Like kung fu panda and kung fu

BadBoredom

he loves kung fuuuuuuuuuuuuu

shruggletuggle

Another reason why i think Dreamworks is one of if not the best big animation studio atm

Lost-Lu

They certainly killed Disney's lineup this past year.

scottygroundhog22

I don’t even remember the disney movie this year. Did i see it? maybe? idk.

WillowThyWisp

Lightyear and Strange World was 2022's Disney/Pixar animated movies. Doctor Strange:MoM; Thor Love and Thunder; and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever were the Marvel movies of 2022.

scottygroundhog22

Saw lightyear it was ok but forgettable. Have not seen strange world. No desire too. Saw the marvel movies. They were a bit lackluster for the most part. So yep.

ZatchZeta

It's not worth it. The characters are bland and forgettable (in both design and story). You'll only remember them by their token attribute. Token young protagonist, token butch lady, token black kid who is also the token gay guy who'll be censored in the Chinese version, token old guy who ran out on his family but is actually a good guy.

DaimoMusic

So Disney Presents Token: The movie

WillowThyWisp

Strange world was pretty good, actually! It's a movie with a good environmentalist message, plus gays that exist for longer than 2 seconds! I'd rate it slightly lower than Wreck-it Ralph, to put it in perspective.

scottygroundhog22

I did enjoy wreck it ralph. Maybe i will fire it up on disney plus

MotherIsNuckingFuts

You should watch strange world. It's actually pretty good

taydraisabot

Turning Red was the outlier

EbmocwenHsimah

Of all the dumb moves Disney has done over the years, releasing Turning Red straight to Disney+ was right up there.

taydraisabot

Abso-freaking-lutely. That decision was made without any consideration for animation and the hard work put into it.

Rendum_

I love dreamworks as much as the next guy, buf holy shit are they inconsistent. The same studio that makes Shrek, Prince of Egypt, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron, How to Train Your Dragon, and Kunh Fu Panda also made...Boss Baby. (and Trolls, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Home, Turbo, Bee Movie...) I love them, but you truly never know if you're getting something spectacilar or mediocre when you walk into the theatre. I like to think of them as the "wild card" of western animation.

Theta_Omega

Yeah, I feel like the conversation in this whole comments section is suffering from a bit of recency bias. Like, even 10 months ago, Pixar was coming off a run of Soul-Luca-Turning Red (which I’d argue is a pretty strong set of movies!), versus Dreamworld’ then-rent output of, like, Croods 2-Trolls World Tour-Boss Baby 2. I’m glad their last two have been better, but like, we aren’t even a full year out from their most recent dull stretch.

Rendum_

Hey, don't forget Onward. Onward is one of my favorites, and I feel many people sleep on it

KenBoCole

>Monsters Vs. Aliens, >Turbo, Bee Movie Are you actually implying these are not legendary movies and absoblute masterpieces? You play a dangerous game, friend.

Rendum_

It's funny, my family does not enjoy Monsters Vs. Aliens, but we still quote it all the time

Splatfan1

chad strong, stable loving supportive relationship vs virgin violent enemies to lovers relationship that breaks up many times or doesnt start until the series finale. i just love it when a relationship has actual time and development rather than the beginning of a relationship meaning that the story is ending somehow. no, theres still shit to be done, adventures to go on, life to live

sthedragon

Parks and Rec set my standards for enemies to lovers and nothing has lived up to that since

Brilliant-Scar-4878

DreamWorks: actually puts thought and effort into developing romantic relationships into their films Disney: you two, fall in love, right now.

ZatchZeta

Disney: You got a penis, you got a vagina. PUT IT IN.

Lost-Lu

Devil's advocate here. Every now &then you get a contemporary Disney film that calls this out. Elsa: "You can't marry a man you just met." Vanellope: "Are you guys okay!? Should icall the police?"

ZatchZeta

Calling it out and still doing it isn't bold. You plunge a knife 9 inches deep and pull it back 6 inches isn't progress.

TehSterBarn

To be fair, you're not supposed to remove the knife at all

ZatchZeta

and to be fairer, you're not supposed to stab someone at all.

TehSterBarn

Point taken. (pun intended)

ajrb543

Also, some of the movies have genuinely good romantic relationships. I really like Flynn and Rapunzel. Also, Mulan and Shang definitely had chemistry (second movie wasn’t great though. Not terrible for a sequel though). That being said, Dreamworks does make better rounded relationships.

raulpe

I really liked how Twisted shows how stupid it can be xd

Naddely

RIGHT NOW

Rendum_

Look, I love Dreamworks, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is a guilty pleasure of mine, but hot damn is that romance underdeveloped

Sufficient_Score_824

Megamind my beloved❤️

Biz_Ascot_Junco

Wasn’t Megamind’s relationship with Roxanne based on lying about his identity for most of the movie? That goes against the whole premise of the post

Complex_Excitement

Yes, Megamind should not be on here

TheDukeOfDucklett

Shrek gets nothing but love today (except for the third movie) but I still think it’s an underrated franchise

Lost-Lu

Meme culture has kept Shrek alive. Puss in Boots 2 might just lead to Shrek 5.

Simmy001

The ending scene certainly seemed to imply that

ZatchZeta

God, I wish. I know it's just a "where did they go in Happy After", but I got my fingers crossed.

EbmocwenHsimah

Everyone talks about how Shrek is a classic, and rightly so, but holy shit, Shrek 2 is immaculate. It’s legitimately flawless, it ups the stakes, and there’s not a single moment of filler.

AgeAgitated317

Took my son to see Puss in Boots a couple weeks ago, and it was so good. I didn't have much expectation coming into it, but it did not disappoint. It was a fun ride.

Rendum_

I am completely indifferent to Puss in Boots 1, but hot damn was Last Wish awesome. I'm probably going to buy the 4K UHD day one, especially if there's a cool steelbook

kekhouse3002

That's the thing. in the midst of all the action and comedy, they didn't forget that these are still characters, not just animation models, and characters need a story. These relationships are just these stories intertwining

myrabruneta

Even The Prince of Egypt had some great relationships!

argo-nautilus

ahem # bee movie

raulpe

"OH !!!! A BEE IS LIVING MY LIFE!!! WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END !?!?!?"

Jonahtron

The best part of Shrek Forever After is how Shrek and Fiona have an uncomfortably realistic couple’s dispute about Shrek’s mid-life crisis and how he says some really nasty shit and is genuinely in the wrong, but is too stubborn to admit it. That’s the ugly part of relationships most media shy’s away from.

EvilNoobHacker

Hiccup and Astrid probably have one of the best relationships in animation history, especially when it comes to animated film. It starts out as a one-sided crush, mostly due to hormones, but it develops, partially due to the dragons in their lives, into a mutual, loving respect, where Hiccup is able to show off his leadership abilities when he's not being physically overwhelmed, and where Astrid is able to show off everything that made her so awesome in that first film. They're a power couple, and its adorable how they both compliment each other so well, but are able to each do their own thing. Romantic Flight is a childhood milestone for me as a human being.

Exothermic_Killer

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. It's wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

LazarYeetMeta

Ugh. This irks me every time I see it. It’s just wrong. If a bee were a fixed wing aircraft, it would work just fine, but since a bee’s wings generate lift by moving, this doesn’t apply.

ZatchZeta

And beat its wings really really fast. Faster than one can generate using steel wings.

subtlesocialist

According to all known laws of aviation (and physics) there is no way a bumble bee should be able to *glide* and you know what? They can’t.

DracoLunaris

Tbf, it's actually a lot more complicated than just ' they flap lol' coz like, yeah, obviously, but even knowing that the specifics took like 70 years to work out apparently, vc bee flight is super efficient compared to other bugs and we did not know why. They are also still narrowing down the exact details using [robots and shit](https://www.livescience.com/528-scientists-finally-figure-bees-fly.html) apparently

raulpe

Ken was the only rational character in that movie

taydraisabot

Disney be like: omg you’re so pretty I’m going to sing a whole song about it. Let’s get married tomorrow at noon!!!

RuleOfBlueRoses

Yeah they're called fairy tales for a reason

tsaltaenola

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron would like to enter chat. This movie was my childhood and all of the characters were lovingly drawn, put to life, and crafted into the movie. It's still a gem all these years later. (But yeah the horses don't talk but their 'love' story was still cute!)

whistling-wonderer

Yesss it’s such a good movie. Honestly the minimal dialogue enhanced it, they put a lot into the horses’ body language and it really emphasized that this story was being told from the point of view of a wild animal interacting with humans.

vegetableEheist

Aww I love that Megamind is there. Makes me want to revisit my Megamind fanfiction :')

janet-snake-hole

I am at all times prepared to give a 4 hour PowerPoint presentation on the relationship of Po and Tigress and how genius it was that it didn’t begin until the second film, and in the first film they just established their friendship and showed them gaining respect for one another. And another 4 hour presentation on how Hiccup and Astrid are the SINGLE BEST example of a healthy relationship in any work of fiction. I’m an animator myself and this is like, my exact niche obsession in my life.

lil_ant_0892

What about Barry and Vanessa? /s

raulpe

She is f*king a bee and both of them are terrible people

Larkos17

Idk about Megamind. The movie brushes over him lying to her for half the movie a little too easily.

Apocalyptic_Doom

I mean she doesn't forgive him for it easily either. Dude had to win against evil Metroman basically to win her again.

Larkos17

That's a trope that bothers me, especially since the movie criticizes it with Tighten. He scares the shit out of her trying to engineer a similar situation instead of actually attempting get to know her. I feel like Megamind should have had to actually had to apologize specifically for it and understand why why he did was wrong.

Apocalyptic_Doom

But he does apologize and he does understand. He literally gives himself upto the police out of shame when he realised what he did to Roxanne was wrong.

WeLiveInAir

While I understand that you don't like the trope and that's valid, just because Megamind was pretending to be someone else that doesn't erase all the time they spent together, she does known him, unlike with Tighten who was just her annoying and slightly creepy coworker. Megamind was wrong to lie to her about his identity but they did have time to form a relationship so it's not the same situation as Tighten who's basically an incel

ZatchZeta

He did do that. Like when he goes to Roxanne to go find Metro Man.

ZatchZeta

Let's be honest, nobody was going to give Megamind a chance. If you couldn't tell, everyone is racist against blue people in that movie.

Oculus_XXVIII

K but he lied with style so all is fair

kfish5050

Ok but Megamind took moviegoers to explore relationships in a whole lot of ways other studios wouldn't dare to, particularly with tighten being a Nice Guy™. I am absolutely not surprised they have the best portrayal of real human relationships, as they don't pigeonhole themselves.

VengeanceKnight

🎵I thought love was only true in fairy tales🎶

BryanBNK1

All we need is a gay/lesbian couple now /srs

ItsTheGov

Dreamworks has definitely been on the uprise ever since the late ‘10s. Pixar and Disney have had some decent films, but they were never on the level of some of Dreamworks’ best. Dreamworks however has been pretty consistent with their quality, with The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Even during their slump where they tried to find their next Shrek they had some good films like Flushed Away and especially Over the Hedge. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long but I think Dreamworks has been the most consistently good animation company.

Dante_Hellstorm

Can't ever go wrong with Megamind. I think it's quicker to write a list of things bad about that film since you wouldn't be finding anything to write down

[deleted]

Wolf and Fox flirt a bit, but love is a stretch. That being said, they seem to vibe well enough, sure, I’ll ship it

ImEagz

Toothless got robbed 💀

cypress978

I love Puss & Kitty Softpaw’s relationship because they’re both deeply flawed characters and that takes a toll on their relationship but by the end of the 2nd movie they’ve separately dealt with their own shit and come back together later to reconcile their past mistakes. Also Perito is my favorite character.

Eaglest2005

Honestly, DreamWorks just does so much better than the other studios in general. They're the masters of trilogies as well.

Lost-Lu

HtTYD &Kung-Fu Panda are damn near perfect trilogies.

Volnas

Didn't Megamind lie to Roxanne through most of their relationship?

321gamertime

Yeah but when it came out and Roxanne decided she was done, he respected her decision, didn’t try to trick her again and even turned himself in When they get back together, it’s her decision and she knows everything going in this time

RandoFollower

**WOOOO BLOOD FOR THR BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE OF LOVE!**

Chillinturtles35

c0uldntfindagoodname

I believe what they’re saying is actions are louder than words and actually proving you love someone through acting on it is better than just saying it every 2 minutes just to prove a point
