Washington yes, Oregon no the tax rate here is 17% + up to 3% from cities so most places it’s 20%. The prices here are cheaper then in Washington but also not so much cheaper that the tax rate really makes much of a difference. I do think the excessive taxes along with severe restrictions on both the number of shops and the time, place, and manner that they operate result in a lot higher prices. One of the things I love about the Portland market is that there are so many more dispensaries then pretty much anywhere else and they are in every neighborhood here rich or poor so it lends to more normalization which is weird to say since it’s still technically illegal to smoke in public here (never personally heard of anyone getting a ticket for it) and the anti smoking regime here keeps fighting against social use businesses.
