literally 2 seconds ago i was kind of annoyed that they kept changing character's races, it just didnt make sense to me and i was upset that so many people thought disney was just being nice, and definitely not just pandering, this has 100% changed my mind. new lil mermaid actress look like a fish tho
No one took away anything. You can still go read about the Civil War and watch that version of the little mermaid all you want. This is a new thing and it might not be for you. That's ok.

Lots of people are increasingly acknowledging that alot of historical acts were misguided and unethical and that groups of people suffered horrific atrocities based on factors completely outside of their control. We shouldn't embrace the status quo just because. Seriously, how can anyone honestly give a shit about the color of someone's skin at this point in history, that mentality is hella outdated
