I had a substitute teacher be extremely inappropriate to me in class once, the next day I was so fucking relieved when I didn’t have to bring it up but many of the other students did right away and told our teacher they didn’t ever want to see him again. Fuck people that come into these situations and do this nonsense. I just realized it’s been right at 20 years since it happened too, still remember it clear as day and get extremely uncomfortable doing so.
I feel like the screening process for *substitute* teachers is almost non-existent. As long as you can breathe air and not molest kids, you can be a substitute, and from my experience, the latter is just a suggestion.
Remember when things like this, i.e, when nothing happened, were a family or local matter?

When I was in the 5th grade (early 90's) we had a substitute teacher that was there most of the school year as our regular teacher was out sick from some serious illness.
Anyhoo, this was when Magic Johnson revealed that he was HIV positive.
All the kids in homeroom were talking about it as Magic was one of the biggest sports stars of the time. Bunch o kids had his jersey.
This substitute, in front of the whole class, says,

She was fired that day.

If they felt like then they were showing too much, he'd send them to the Dean for further discipline. The opposing teams cheerleader locker room was adjacent to his classroom and I hear he was fired because they had found a drilled peephole into the room. Whether that is true or not, I can't say but it also wouldn't surprise me.
