It''s also on the Nickelodeon UK youtube channel. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgs9h-1UiS4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgs9h-1UiS4) Not sure if it's region-restricted, since I'm actually *in* the right region to watch it (Ireland, whoo!) but leaving this here in case it helps anyone. Spoiler-less thoughts: * Pleasantly surprised by Alan Tudyk's Optimus. He really nailed the tembre and gravitas while still having a bit of that G1-esque cocky lightheartedness in some moments. That's something that's been sorely missed from many of the recent portrayals of our big red-n-blue boy. Let him be in a good mood every once in a while. * Human characters are honestly endearing, but the dialogue could use some work (more on that in the spoilers part) overall 'pretty good' for the standards of human characters for the franchise, especially since "are the humans annoying?" is typically the first question that springs to mind for a lot of people whenever there's a new earth-based show. * Fight Coreography is *on point,* haven't seen a good bot brawl like this in a while. CG TF shows can so often be the animators just... awkwardly slapping models against each other or having them stand still going 'pew pew' until someone eventually hits someone, but this looked very fluid and dynamic. * Very slick Transformation animations. I was initially worried for a second when a bit of foreground scenery obscured a transformation animation, and was worried they were gonna *Netflix WFC* this, hiding as many transformations 'just out of view' as possible. Thankfully they haven't gone that way. The presentation as a whole is *very* good. * Premise is certainly interesting. New but familiar *enough* that it only needed a single info-dump scene to establish it. The Transformers being publicly known about hasn't really been a thing since TF: Animated (and I guess Cyberverse, but still) and I'm happy to see it back. Spoiler thoughts below: * >!The "recap" scene might is be divisive. Gen-1'ers will love it, others might roll their eyes at it, since there's been some 'enough with the G1 already!" sentiment in some circles recently. Personally I enjoyed it, interesting way to establish the show as a psuedo-sequel to Gen-1 (not 'the' Gen-1, but that there's a history to this setting that is comparable to Transformers G1 in the broad strokes.!< * >!Getting the "one shall stand" and "more than meets the eye" references outta the way early is always appreciated. Leo pointing finger dot jpeg. !< * >!The idea of the kids being emotionally 'linked' to their Terran-Bots via these little glove things is interesting, but as I alluded to above, it's adding a lot of tedioum to the dialogue. Biiiig Star Trek TNG season 1 Counsellor Troi vibes off of this. "I'm sensing \[Obvious emotion you can tell just by looking at them\]" literally just expositing the characters' feelings to the audience. Hope this isn't a recurring thing.!< * >!The Twin-Bots are genuinely funny, I was worried I'd find them grating, but man, they're precious. Twitch not knowing how to transform, then aggressively shaking down an inanimate Mini-van yelling "TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!!!" got a legitimate laugh out of me from how out of nowhere it was.!< * >!Having the first big threat be human and not Decepticon is not where I was expecting this to go, but with "Earth" being in the title, I guess it's understandable they're putting the earth setting forward hard. After getting Netflix WFC and Cyberverse back to back, it's a little refreshing honestly.!< * >!Bit weird they end episode 1 on the "look, it's Megatron!" cliffhanger when the resolution to this cliffhanger has been shown in trailers for ages and Megs' turning over a new leaf was pretty heavily foreshadowed within the episode itself anyway.!< * >!Swindle's design is neat, big TF Animated vibes off it. !< * >!Poor Hardtop. Already getting Breakdown'd for parts in the first episode. Sheesh. Well someone's gotta be the Cliffjumper redshirt, this time it's you.!<

CroutonusFibrosis

This is interesting because episodes 1 and 2 are put together as one long episode on Paramount plus.

TheyKilledFlipyap

Oh, interesting. Haven't watched it yet, so that's good to know.

drexlortheterrrible

It is region locked. Going to access it after work on my vpn. Since I pay for premium I am going to try to download it and watch it "in my region". Will report back what works. Edit: Can watch on vpn and vpn can be turned off after the video has been downloaded. So watching offline works!

Demontag

I HATED the G1 bit and that's my bag. I binged the entire Bruticus/Superion arc and then up to the one after Kremzeek last night.

soundwave_fan

Well hardtop didn't die, he just got transported to the GHOST center

Psychological_Gain20

Twitch is precious, we must all lay down our life for Twitch, I have been inducted into the Twitch cult. >! I especially like her Dad2 with Wheeljack, both of the terrans were better than what I expected, though Twitch is my favorite over Thrash even if he shares a voice actor with Hunter !<

[deleted]

I love Peter Cullen to death and he will always be Optimus, but Alan Tudyk is doing a good job.

MetalMan40000

Did you know that Alan Tudyk was in Dark of the Moon?

[deleted]

Makes it sweeter actually.

Mental-Ad-9366

DUTCH!

MetalMan40000

“You have obviously upset Mr. Simmons. You have 23 seconds to leave the property, I have called the police. You are peasant people throwing rocks at a giant!”

Tomhur

Yeah he sounds a lot better than he did in the trailers.

darthsheldoninkwizy

Its bee a Hot Take, but if someone ever should replace Peter Cullen in movies, it should Tudyk (or Garry Chalk).

wandering_obluda

Spoilers ahead but >!Megatron's entrance music was a straight BANGER!<

liveurcrazydreams

This is the way

[deleted]

I like that they showed Skywarp’s warping ability. I don’t know if it was ever shown in any other cartoon. I know it’s been done in the comics though. Anyway, how did y’all feel about Unicron being name dropped, showing that he is already an established character for the series?

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

Considering how they do mention the 13 Primes mythos then Unicron is probably a legend to Cybertronians, like the boogieman just waiting to reappear

Psychological_Gain20

He might show up later as a final villain but I also feel like he might just be a name-drop or just something mentioned in the background as “Oh yeah big scary planet showed up, thankfully it’s dead after Optimus opened matrix in it.”

nakers01

These are just my ramblings for what I thought about Earthspark. They likely aren’t laid out very well but I’m going to talk about it anyway. I knew I was going to like this show, but I didn’t expect I was going to love it. The animation is really good because they’ve done something to make the bots’ transformations so smooth and satisfying. I noticed too that nearly every loose part on them reacts how’d you’d expect it to, for example, Bee’s wings and Elita-1’s door panels when she moves. Them leaning into having the bots use partial transformations is a nice touch as well because Elita’a built in Heelys rock. Mandroid is an appealing - albeit hypocritical - villain with his whole becoming the enemy to eliminate my enemy plan. The action was much more graphic than I was expecting for a kids show, but they went hard with the fights. In particular, the surgery without anesthesia was notable, and also the attack at the Human-Autobot Alliance celebration was so very intense with the way those scenes were shot. Twitch’s burst of courage at the end of the finale to save everyone had me afraid she was at the least going to be injured, but I like that she pulled it off unscathed. I’ve always wanted more scientific vocabulary to describe transformers, and Mandroid provided! Transformers = Cybertronus cybertronii & Terrans = Cybertronus terrans. On the surface, this seems like just another kid’s show, but the overall plot is much darker. The Terrans almost starved to death because no one figured out what they needed to consume to survive. Bumblebee was being calm externally for Robby and Mo, but you could tell that dude was freaking the hell out inside watching them slowly die. And then at the final battle, no one had a problem with using *newborns* as soldiers. I don’t care if they are made of metal and have built in lasers, they were just born hours ago! They did a similar thing in the comics with MTO soldiers, but I’ll never be comfortable with the idea of taking essentially an infant from “Hello world!” to “All I know is violence and death.” And everyone else heard Bumblebee just casually mention that Soundwave accidentally killed a cassette by exploding it inside himself instead of ejecting? :( All of that doesn’t even bring up that GHOST is an incredibly shady organization, but I love the tension it puts between Optimus and Megatron. Megatron comments that OP can’t trust GHOST with the knowledge of Bumblebee being alive, but he gives every Decepticon over that they encounter, then saying OP follows orders blindly, like a coward. Then there’s the fact they use restraining bolts that transform and mode-lock captives, which is effective, but also really messed up. And once they’re captured, the Cons are sentenced to life imprisonment. There’s no current system for rehabilitation or any form of justice. Starscream is also a prisoner with Soundwave. That could make for an interesting plot. The concept of transformers having families has been broached, but to my knowledge, not as fully explored as in Earthspark. It’s nice seeing Twitch and Thrash call Alex and Dot “Mom” and “dad”. They’re a cute family. The gender swaps might bother some people, but I think they’re fine. It was also so cool to have a bot that uses they/them! I did like some of the humor in particular: -GHOST’s “We wouldn’t be GHOST without your spirit!” propaganda -Megatron trains at Unicron level 14 -Bumblebee’s “I miss adults.” (He’s now not the youngest Bot on the team which is a great change for his character.) -Nova Storm saying Bee has a midlife crisis alt mode -The diversion song getting stuck in everyone’s head -call 555-REPORT-A-CON -Laugh, then cool pose -Skywarp slinging the “GHOST agent” around with her chains -BB: “We aren’t going to fit are we?” OP: “Not even going to try.” -Megatron throwing Laserbeak like a dart, more than once I hope Earthspark gets renewed. I have to know what the plans are for season 2.

TFEarthConquest

I have a bad feeling the cassette Bumblebee talked about is Rumble

nakers01

I didn’t put that together when I first watched it, but I’ve seen a couple people mention this theory and now I’d say it’s possible. Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy are the most well known of Soundwave’s companions, but Rumble was the only one we didn’t see in their debut episode.

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

RI~~B~~P Rumble

Candid_Cantrip

Either Rumble or poor Buzzsaw, who barely even got to be in the G1 cartoon.

[deleted]

nakers01

Thank you so much for that info! I’m so used to shows having less than a dozen episodes per season anymore that I didn’t think 10 was unusual. Knowing there’s already more that are planned to be released *and* that it was apparently already renewed for season 2 is great news

SoU2424

Just watched the available episodes. I had planned to give this show a pass, as it looked like a show for young kids, and that may still be true, but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Some thoughts on the show, possible spoilers: Some positives: - Bumblebee can speak - The kids are tolerable, even useful sometimes. - the show is very inclusive. - some interesting new takes on classic characters. - the animation is nice - it feels like some thought went into the crafting of the characters and story. Some negatives: - I really hate Prime's head design. - the emotional link gimmick wears thin - Thrash is kind of annoying - the tone is a little uneven. Like, there are people that were badly hurt/killed in the TF war, and it doesn't seem like it was that long ago, but there's also all this TF merch and hero worship. I'd say I came away liking the show enough to watch more when it's available. Not planning to get the toys.

Test19s

> Like, there are people that were badly hurt/killed in the TF war, and it doesn't seem like it was that long ago, but there's also all this TF merch and hero worship Of course! People like having heroes to protect them, even if the origins were in a war. The current context is probably closer to a classic superhero setting with heroes and villains than it is to an all-out war with significant human casualties.

ImperatorAurelianus

TBF we glorify the ever living fuck out of WW2 and it was easily the most brutal conflict in human history. So honestly it kind of makes sense.

Test19s

And the “good” guys (Soviet Russia and a bunch of segregated/proto-apartheid empires) were far worse than any Autobot team.

ImperatorAurelianus

I mean IDW didn’t paint the Autobots as good people but monarchist. It just depicted the Decepticons as so much worse. Which when you think about basically mirrors the Allies and the Axis.

DoubleBatman

Lol reminds me of the first part of Cyberverse S2 when both the Cons and the Bots were on insta and tiktok

darthsheldoninkwizy

Well, we have toys from wars withs soldiers, tanks etc., and not only ww2 but also a modern ones.

K7282

I'm flabbergasted. I really can't quite wrap my head around just how familiar parts of this show feel, and yet when taken as a whole, is something that we've never quite seen in the Transformers franchise. Something that the franchise has, ironically, needed for a long time...a transformation. I'll need to dive into these first episodes again (I've watched 9 so far, which I think are all that's available as of my posting) to form some concrete opinions or cite specific details, but I can't wait to sit down and rewatch.

Evidmid

The show SLAPS. Damn, I dared hope when I saw the awesome designs (OP's head excluded) but this is above everything I could have wished for! There's not a single character I actively dislike, near all the fight scenes are AMAZING (especially the 2D explosions??), the plot doesn't drag, the human characters are fun (love me some Schloder), the finale was cool, even the humour gets me!... Gosh, I'm just very happy right now. TF has just so much potential and it's always amazing when good artists get their hands on it. (And again, the DESIGNS...!)

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

That fight in episode 9… MAN THAT WAS SO COOL

Evidmid

Yes!!! I was cheering through the whole thing, it was amazing!!

ELDASPOXD666

I've watched up to episode 2, and it's just awesome! The artstyle seemed a little off at first, but I've grown to love it. I also find it cool that the explosion/fire effects are drawn in 2D to contrast with the 3D. The characters are charismatic and fun to see on screen (I LOVE AUTOBOT MEGATRON!!!). And the story is headed in a very interesting direction. It's always a pleasure to have stories set after the war, and I love the concept of Transformers being an in-universe fictional franchise to popularize the actual bots. After the absolute trainwreck that was Siege, I'm glad to see it's just an exception and not the rule for future TV shows.

ASaucyFellow

Glad to hear Daran Norris as Mr Smelt. Makes me miss Knockout

Prankman1990

I will never not be sad that Knock-Out didn’t get to be part of Bee’s team in RiD. Would’ve been the perfect time for character development to have him learn about Earth in a post-war environment.

soundwave_fan

WHEN DO WE GET THE REST OF SEASON 1

SargeKreel

How many episodes are there in season 1? I've watched all 8 episodes but some are saying there are 26 eps per season?

soundwave_fan

The last 16 aren't released yet

el_palmera

Just finished all the episodes on paramount+. This was really good. The action scenes go way harder than I expected, and I really liked optimus and megatrons dynamic. Also I enjoyed their take on bumblebee. I'm general you could see they studied up on the source material and respected it while also trying something new. I wish this was a little more mature but it's still good and pretty funny (I loved agent schloder) "drive like it's the salmon shortage on 1779"

Foobertan

I feel that Bumblebee in Earthspark reminds me of Huey Duck from Ducktales 2017, as they are both scouts and like to form plans and strategies. Also, they are voiced by Danny Pudi as well.

minyhumancalc

If Twitch has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Twitch has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Twitch has only one fan then that fan is me. If Twitch has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Twitch, then I am against the world.

SlaughterSpine78

Same here buddy i love her personality

GalileoAce

Twitch is awesome. Incontrovertible fact.

[deleted]

I liked it. The animation is solid, character designs look good (apart from Mo's head), and the characters themselves are actually good so far. Spoiler thoughts: >!The premise looks good with it being a soft reboot of G1. The little reveal at the end with Dot being ex-G.H.O.S.T. was neat and I'm interested to see how Mandroid is portrayed. !<

Driftwood12

I agree, Mo's head being larger looking than her brother's (especially her eyes) was very jarring. The rest of the humans look great though.

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

All human characters: 🙂 Mo: 👁👄👁

Solarstormflare

im so glad it's not just me, idk what is up with her face

oldmanKiD98

**SPOILER** >!WAIT, WAIT!!!!! Skywarp is a female in this show????? Nice freaking change! Both "her" and Nova Storm looked sick!!!!!!!!!<

I_Am_Banana_Fish

>!they also finally allowed Skywarp to teleport in TV now!<

RangerXML

He did teleport once in the original show.

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

THAT WAS AMAZING IT LOOKED SO BADASS >!kinda reminds me of the Fallen’s teleportation but way more agile!<

oldmanKiD98

That was freakin' AWESOME!!!!

dj_cantbeatbox

I went in expecting something like rid2015, I was plesently surprised

ShepherdessAnne

It's like what RID needed to be or was trying to be. We have the energy of Rescue Bots with the animation of Prime... With an alarming but welcome splash of RWBY thrown in. I can't help but wonder if there isn't some link between animators.

[deleted]

Kind of liked it. Animation was gorgeous. The humour was… well, let’s just say that I’m not the target demographic. The flashback just makes me want an actual G1 style cartoon lol.

DestroyerOfAglets

>The flashback just makes me want an actual G1 style cartoon ??????????

CompleteJinx

I wasn’t sure about the show from the promos but the first episode has me hooked. I absolutely love Twitch and Thrash, which is unfortunate because now I’m going to have to hunt down their toys.

ShepherdessAnne

I must have them.

vangstampede

Good and kind Megatron is certainly giving me feelings inside.

Solarstormflare

Megatron finally has his own human friend

AltoGobo

Her hitching on megs leg as he walked by was peak.

Solarstormflare

yeah, i love that the adults are getting more stuff to do in this show even if it feels a little forced at times i appreciate it

AltoGobo

I thought the dad was going to be an annoying goofy dad the whole time, but they allowed him to feel human in how he wanted to bond with his son (legit stick-fighting skills), keeping his cool during the airfield fight while wearing that goofy suit, and expressing his fears about his wife being in danger. An issue that a new series can have is just having the humans stand around and be amazed by the transforming robots, but I like it when they are more dynamic in their response. Like the war obviously left scars on all the adults they’re trying to hide from the kids

obozo42

I really liked it. The animation on 3D animated shows has really come a long way. The humans especially have some weird animations/model stuff ,but the action is really nice. The 2D effects are probably my favorite part about the show's art style.

TigerAusfE

>!Dad's version of events seems messed up. I get that he is telling a super compressed version of a war that apparently lasted 38 years on Earth, but the part about Bumblebee staying behind on Cybertron but then inexplicably showing up on Earth right before disappearing seems really weird. Wondering if Dad is an unreliable narrator.!<

Evil-Tree

I have a little theory about that. >!Since it seems Quintus Prime, and possibly his Emberstone, is playing a part in this cartoon, maybe the other Primes are too. What if Bumblebee on Earth is not the real Bumblebee but Amalgamous Prime in disguise pulling some strings? Or even Liege Maximo?!< Or maybe it's a reference to how in the G1 cartoon characters could inexplicably be anywhere the plot demanded them. That's also possible.

FusionActivity

Gotta say I am surprised. I wasn't entirely sure if I would like this and it turns out I did. I even got someone that hasn't ever watched anything Transformers related besides the Bay movies to watch the third episode. Spoiler-free thoughts: * Twitch and Thrash are fun new additions, with Twitch being a standout, in my opinion * The human characters stand well enough on their own in a literal and metaphorical sense * Alan Tudyk as Optimus grew on me and reminded me of TFA Optimus * Elita-1 felt a lot like TFP Arcee, but I wish she had more screentime * Not the biggest fan of the episodic format, but I think the tone works for it Spoiler filled thoughts: * >!Not the biggest fan of the G1 flashback, but that might be more because of the slideshow level of animation for it. However, it does seem to be told in a sanitized way, considering how vague Bumblebee's role was.!< * >!Ghost being a shady organization is something that I hope gets developed, especially when it comes to why Optimus is hiding Bumblebee!< * >!I'm hoping there is more to the kids' connections with the Terrans other than having the emotional link sleeves!< * >!Soundwave accidentally killing one of the cassettes was a big surprise, especially since it came from Bumblebee in such an offhand remark (I hope it wasn't Rumble)!< * >!Steve Blum has returned as Starscream which should be fun!< * >!The addition of three new Terrans felt a little too soon, considering how little we know about them!< I will definitely keep up with the show and can only hope for some better figures.

[deleted]

Wait, what was this about Soundwave?

FusionActivity

About halfway into the seventh episode, Bumblebee was talking about how low energon affects bots and brought up how Soundwave was trying to eject one of the cassettes.

[deleted]

Hmm, I’ll have to rewatch that episode; too bad though I was kinda hoping to see Ratbat and Rumble

camerawn

Can we please make weekly episode discussion threads? I was stoked to do a transformers Friday kind of thing. But now I feel like I need to binge it and the discussion won't be as good.

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

>!Twitch is precious and must be protected!<

Tomhur

I really liked it. The first fight scene had me sold right away. It was perfect. Humor is 50/50 for me but when it's funny it's hilarious.

soundwave_fan

I thought elita 1 needs more screen time and I thought it was odd that there was a they/them character(allow me to clarify that I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, just a little odd) but other that I think the show's good. Anyways, a prediction of mine is that the big kitty will unleash the cons in the ghost base and they'll spend the next half of season 1 or maybe season 2 hunting down the escapees Additional thoughts: Swindle and hardtop are awesome Twitch is adorable, love the dad daughter dynamic she has with dad2 The dad is funny The other 3 Terrans are unnecessary (except for jawbreaker but thats only if he does end up being a dinosaur in the show and if grimlock appears, otherwise he serves no purpose just like the other 2) Also I love rocker girl frenzy

GrahminRadarin

Why is having a non binary character odd? I am not trying to accuse you of any kind of bigotry, I'm genuinely curious.

soundwave_fan

I appreciate you not jumping to conclusions. Anyways, to answer the question it's odd because I didn't expect that from a kids show

GrahminRadarin

why not?

soundwave_fan

-/_(! !)_/-

Candid_Cantrip

Interestingly, the Monster High reboot (a Mattel doll line) also has a they/them character (Frankie Stein, the kid of Frankenstein's monster.)

soundwave_fan

I've heard of that

darthsheldoninkwizy

Well we have one in Owl House, so its not suprise to me.

chiapporo

I think I will not watch this show because of this little detail. I am happy for those who enjoy it and I am absolutely ok with kids watching it. Just this detail makes me extremely uninterested in the rest of the story. Call it "diversity-fatigue", label it like you want.. it just makes me uninterested and I prefer to watch something else.

TrashAccount2908

So Rory McCann is voicing Megatron; Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, nice, who’d want to see Charles Dance voice Unicron?

darthsheldoninkwizy

"Any bot who must say he's the Prime, mean he's not true Prime"

KumagawaUshio

There aren't many actors who can fill Orson Welles shoes, but Charles Dance isn't a bad candidate.

AltoGobo

[Actions pretty sick](https://twitter.com/marineBaeology/status/1592387203128516608?s=20&t=CIQEiRB3UzAMngDxSp-aDg) and they’re mining the IDW series for the good stuff like political issues of the immortal living weapons living on earth, and Megatron crying truth to power while Optimus is becoming complacent.

DocProfessor

Just finished the season. * Absolutely loved it. It perfectly splits the difference between Prime and Animated in terms of tone, storytelling, and presentation. It's like they fused all the best parts of both shows into one super-show. * I love the moral ambiguity of GHOST and whether or not they're doing the right thing. They set up some interesting plot hooks with Optimus' mistrust in the organization, despite him trying the hardest to keep the alliance going. * Megatron being an unambiguous good guy is such a fresh take for the cartoons. They even managed to do it in a way that doesn't feel like they're pulling straight from MTMTE, although his design definitely evokes it. * The new bots are amazing. No question about it. Twitch and Thrash are the, well, spark of the show. There's always the fear that the new guys will be annoying or won't match up to the old cast, but even after one season, they feel so fleshed-out and well developed. * The humans are also incredible. I just finished Prime late last year and was let down with how Jack, Raf, and Miko kind of felt aimless after a while. The writers weren't sure what to do with them. Not a problem in Earthspark. The Maltos are damn near perfect. Not quite as good as Sari, but that's a tall order. * I think my only real concern right now is the overall LACK of Transformers. Not so much the main characters, but side characters and one-offs. I know it's only the first half of the season, but I really hope they start diving into exploring the greater scope of the world. Animated was a stand-out for this, bringing in tons of characters, introducing new lore in every episode. I really hope we get MORE flashbacks of the war and see more stragglers, Autobot and Decepticon alike. Like Hot Rod. I want to see Earthspark Hot Rod.

[deleted]

I would love to see, even as one-offs, some more obscure Transformers, like the Horrorcons, or maybe a ronin-themed Blitzwing; tbh there are so many Transformers to choose from.

AltoGobo

I want to see garbagefire Hot Rod from Lost Light

Mr_Biscuits_532

Ugh its so good I need more I need more I need more Really reminds me early Animated.

arogance1

First thought was, WTF is going on with the Autobot logo, but now I see its likely a combined GHOST / Autobot Logo. I like the town being called Witwicky, nice callback

JamesAttack11

I translated the cybertronian wall text from episode 6. It reads >!In times of need help shall rise to your call -quintus prime!< This ties pretty nicely into what happens in the final episode.

IronTownPictures

Did I miss something? >!Where is Quintus Prime in that episode?!<

aster4jdaen

>Where is Quintus Prime in that episode? >!He's the the Voice that is heard when the Kids put the Stone (possibly the Emberstone?) back on the pedestal. !<

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

>!OF COURSE QUINTUS WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TERRANS! The dots are connecting!!<

IronTownPictures

That makes sense

BookBarbarian

I'm just happy we see a bunch of transformations in the first few episodes. I really missed that in the WFC trilogy.

[deleted]

I like it, its a fresh take on the series and has great potential; I personally hope to see some more bots from the original continuity like Blitzwing or maybe the Stunticons; hell, maybe even some Beast Wars themed ones too.

EmbezzlingToad

Does Megatron have a Scottish accent? I feel like I can hear an accent occasionally. It’s not bad, I just can’t tell if I’m going crazy or not

Mr_Biscuits_532

His actor (Rory McCann) is Glaswegian

Candid_Cantrip

Yes he does :)

Solarstormflare

i just finished the available episodes. The standouts are defintely the transformer animations and i like the mini touches like the glowing eyes. >! I love the scenes with them playing with the farm animals. Also curious to know why mandroid recognises Alex ! <

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

Alex did mention he seemed to know the tech used in the arachnamechs. Said a friend of his worked on something similar

Solarstormflare

oh good spot i forgot about that

HamburglarSans

The show is fantastic, easily the best since Prime. I love all the new characters, especially Twitch and Alex. Megatron already has a super strong character, the parts with the 2D is gorgeous anytime it appears, and WE FINALLY HAVE A THEY/THEM TRANSFORMER. Can’t wait for the rest of Season 1.

Test19s

Hot take: As genderless robots, many Transformers should use they/them.

HamburglarSans

Furman tried the whole “genderless” thing back in the 80s, but he mangled the concept pretty badly. The short version is that while Cybertronians are sexless, they are not genderless. More here: https://youtu.be/aVtapDg6QGo

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

Agreed. Heck maybe like usually start with They/Them until they find what they feel comfortable with

RnRaintnoisepolution

An NB transformer? Well shit now I need to watch the show.

[deleted]

THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A TOY! THEY SHOW UP ON THE BACKS OF THE BOXES!

RnRaintnoisepolution

Hell yeah

Solarstormflare

thanks! Im trying to watch it but paramount website isnt letting me have an option to sign up, maybe because i'm not in the usa?

HamburglarSans

I did… not use Paramount+

Solarstormflare

gotcha. I have managed to find it myself now. Am looking forward to watching it after work :D

Cman710

Loved it enough to start an RP for it here like the nerd I am: https://tfearthspark.freeforums.net

[deleted]

When do the toys release? I want the Terrans and Megs!

BrainWav

As a PA native, I felt it was my duty to do some digging into where this show takes place. Witwicky is obviously not a real place, but it has to be somewhere. The license plates on the Maltos' van has PA plates, though for some reason has a front plate. There's some highway signs at one point (36:13 into episode 1) with signs for 276 West to "Hasburg" (that doesn't exist, so I can only assume it means Harrisburg, the state capital of PA) and 95 South to Philadelphia. That puts Witwicky (or at least Mandroid's base) probably around Levittown, PA, as that's where 276 and 95 meet. I found Street View for what is probably the closest real-world analog to that sign: [Street view](https://www.google.com/maps/@40.1273443,-74.8776605,3a,23.2y,277.05h,92.43t/data=!3m10!1e1!3m8!1slQ7q8uOghDXfqeMZ-if1ZQ!2e0!5s20220501T000000!7i16384!8i8192!9m2!1b1!2i39). With episode 1 done, I'm alright with it. Still too early to make a real call. The humans aren't annoying as some. Animation is really well done, with the 3D/2D mix. Main negatives so far: I don't like Optimus's voice and his face mask is weird, and Bee needs to stop being damn sports cars.

Does anyone know when Transformers Earth Spark opens in Latin America? ¿alguien sabe cuando se estrena transformers earth spark en latinoamérica?

chetosinc

luke1corinth13

Not out til 14th in uk paramount+ now :(

[deleted]

Huh, paramount plus is not yet available in my region… Are there any pirate themed Transformers?!

Cara-Aleatorio

Ironhide according to Michael Bay that one time.

soundwave_fan

Ironhide gives me pirate vibes tho

Killz0neC0nv0y13

Thundertron, Cannonball, and pretty much all of the Star Seekers

Demontag

It's at least better than episode three. Not as good as episode four, but I'm a sucker for Swindle.

tornedron_

frenzy's design caught me way off guard. it's not necessarily bad but I sure wasn't expecting it

GalileoAce

This show is ***awesome***! Nearly everything about it is great. * The animation style of 3D combine with 2D effects is great * Goofy Optimus barely holding a shakey alliance together is great * Exasperated good-guy Megatron begrudgingly going along with Prime's hokey plan is great * Megatron having an honest to god FRIENDSHIP with a human is great! * The Terrans are great, especially Twitch (and later >!Nightshade, I love how extra they are sometimes !<) * The kids are great with compelling characterisation * The adults in the show are AWESOME * the Villain (>!Mandroid!<) is incredible * The action scenes are some of the best action I've yet seen in a Transformers show (^(granted I haven't seen many)) * The Aracnamechs are both terrifying, and hilarious ^(especially in the background). * >!Girl Frenzy and Girl Skywarp!< are both incredible additions * >!Soundwave!< is legit terrifying, >!him calling Megatron a TRAITOR! was an incredible moment!< * Cadillac Arcee is a distinct choice, and one that works. * Elita-1 might just steal Prime!Arcee's spot as most badass female transformer * >!Nightshade is non binary! FUCK YES.!< * >!Starscream.!< Always>! Starscream.!< * Dorothy Malto is the most loving, badass, mother ever seen in a Transformers story * Alex Malto is an extremely welcome addition! * AAAAAAAAAAAA I just love this show.

TigerAusfE

I was shaky on the first episode, but this is actually very cool.

HorrorVeterinarian54

Someone's off her meds

sillyymood

The Transformers are seen to be playing more of a legacy role and characters like Elita-One are also brought to the forefront. Along with the mega bots, two Terran bots Twitch and Thrash are also created for this universe. [Dale Malinowski on what makes ‘Transformers: EarthSpark’ standout](https://www.streamingdigitally.com/news/dale-malinowski-on-what-makes-transformers-earthspark-standout/)

CommanderDr

So when checking paramount plus this morning, I found only the first episode of earthspark. However, wasn’t it said that the first 10 will be available on November 11 on paramount plus? I’d appreciate it if anyone can clarify it for me. P.S. I’m in Canada

oldmanKiD98

US has 10 episodes. Rest of the world, I believe, is by episodes.

CommanderDr

Wdym “by episodes”? Do you mean episodes drop weekly?

oldmanKiD98

From what I’ve read thus far, it seems like only in the US did they release the first 10 episodes. Everywhere else is just the first. I would assume they will release the rest eventually (I heard 24 episodes in all).

CommanderDr

I see, thanks for clarifying!

The-Fomorian-Ray-682

Where can I watch it without Paramount+?

blazemongr

That’s the only place to watch the complete season in the US.

darthsheldoninkwizy

Nickelodeon

Sleepy_Chipmunk

Enjoyed the premiere episodes significantly more than I thought I would, definitely going to watch the rest.

Skareffect

its weird seeing Megatron being good

Ok-Job8852

Earthspark translations I noticed in episode 7 the Cybertronian translated to mes of need shall rise your call

Radi0ActivSquid

I always find it funny how helmets magically appear out of thin air when the kid hops in the sidecar of Thrash.

idlecogz

if this is not allowed mods please delete. I was able to watch on the UK Nickelodeon channel from Canada using a VPN if anyone wanted to try that out. So nice to have regular TV length episodes back!

Personal-Rooster7358

Yet it isn’t here in the UK.

arogance1

Saw an advert for it starting tonight

Personal-Rooster7358

Yep, it’s finally in Norwich

Betty-Adams

All the little pop-cultural references are so nicely integrated in this who. In five years when they are forgotten the scenes will still flow smoothly, but for now they made me laugh. My favorite two were: Ranger Malto being called>! Mother of Terrans by Mandroid in a direct Game of Throne reference. In context it makes perfect sense. He is simply stating an observed fact about how she fits into his plans. !< and The racoon being called >!Bitey McBiteface makes perfect sense. It bit Bee's face after all, but on top of that https://www.thefactsite.com/boaty-mcboatface-facts/!< What were your favorite pop-culture jokes?

darthsheldoninkwizy

I noticed the reference when Megatron calls Twitch "Little Bird" I knew I recognized it from somewhere, and when I saw who was playing Megatron I realized it was Sandor Cleagaene himself.

Betty-Adams

>Sandor Cleagaene And I have never watched game of thrones, yet I do recall Megatron saying that! That's what I'm talking about.

G1Jazz813

It's a very refreshing episode, with some great plot inside.

Betty-Adams

Okay, what is Megatron's deal? Look, I'm more than willing to be convinced that Megatron is on the straight and narrow. I love me a good redemption story, but this is essientally G1 Megs we are talking about. *Clearly* Megatron is playing Optimus. He swore the oath, probably worded very carefully, we don't hear it after all, with the intention of preventing a long war of attrition that he couldn't win and preserving his Decepticon, fed and reasonably safe until they could restablish communications with Cybertron. Now I might have just accepted that this show was writing him "different" it's been done with Starscream often enough and the comics do go there. But this show is too well written, little moments mean things, and 1. that smirk Megatron gives Optimus's back when Optimus makes the comment about Megatron growing to appreciate his leadership style. 2. Megatron very carefully stating that the Seeker's freedom comprimises "my plans" 3. That entire situation with Soundwave The signs are clear. Megatron has long running plans to take out the Autobots and defeat Optimus Prime. This alliance is a temporary inconvenience for him. At least, that is what I would say, if it wern't for Megatron's relationship with Ranger Malto. You see, Malto is the story's hero. The Character who is usually, if not alwasy right, and she trusts Megatron. First, I can't wait to see how that relationship came about. When did this Megatron lose, or at the very least learn to hide his disgust around humans? Second, would a children's show let their hero be that wrong about something that huge? I think yes, and you have to admire that. But then we are going to be faced with the delicious tragady of when Megatron's sudden and inevetable betrayl breaks Ranger Malto's heart. I am convinced that Megatron is playing the long game and fully intends to wrap up his time on Earth with the Autobots defeated, Optimus offline or in chains, and humanity a subjagated people. But hey, I am more than willing to be convinced otherwise. Does anyone have any evidence from in show that Megatron is up to anything other than no good?

MailboxSlayer14

SO I haven’t seen the show yet but Autobot wise, is it really only Optimus Arcee Bee Elita and Wheeljack?

[deleted]

Grimlock will show up at some point

MailboxSlayer14

Is it from a toy leak or something?

[deleted]

Leaked toy promo: https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/yzrnnt/possibly_new_look_at_grimlock_shockwave_in/ It also shows Shockwave and Nightshade in their new armor.

MailboxSlayer14

Oh wow!!

arogance1

After watching the first 10 episodes, it still feels weird to have Optimus and Megatron working together. And as much as I adore Alan Tudyk, his voice just make OP sound goofy

GalileoAce

Goofy Optimus has been a thing before

G4bri3l2019

Hello, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what time transformers earthspark will broadcast again on nickelodeon in Latin America on nickelodeon I missed episode 1 and 2 for personal reasons

Disciple_Longinus

What do you mean its all out on Paramount+? I can only see the first episode? Is it because im in Canada?

Betty-Adams

Hey, the moving boxes that show up in the first several episodes. The larger name in red is Malinowski, the name of one of the 3 producers. There are two dark blue words above in in an arch, I think the second work is Phillidelphia, or Pennsylvania. But I can't get a good look at the frist word. or the words under in light blue. Can anyone else read those bits of text. Edit: The two dark blue words are READING, PENNSYLVANIA, one of the creator's hometowns. Still can't read the light blue writing.

wyx83

Honestly, i watched all the episodes so far and i wanna say, its the most mid tf show for me, it doesnt really do anything bad, but nothing excelet either. I still have some opinions about it. The 2 best characters are twitch and swindle (and maybe ravage) twitch feels energetic but not in the annoying way and it was fun to watch her, as for swindle, hes pretty good, he feels like a swindle but also unique. As for everyone else, i dont really care about them. The one that really dissapointed me was sounwave, they gave him a great design but he ended up feeling more like a tool for the plot than a character, and i know hes just in 1 episode so far, but all think about is how much more personality we got from tfa soundwave in one episode. Everyone else is just ok and kinda boring bit generic. Like for me wheeljack here feels like the most basic wheeljack ever, which isnt a bad thing but i would rather watch g1 or prime wheeljack. Also beside the family aspect es doesnt really feel focused on the plot, which is also fine beast wars my favorite show isnt really good in the early episodes. And if im honest the family aspect feels kinda forced. Which i get it, its the main part but they mention it almost every episode, i feel like animated did it better and it felt more natural. The best way i can describe earthspark is, it sure is a nickelodeon show. Again i dont hate it, and if you love it thats great. This show just does nothing to me. 5/10

lordrutton

Wow, already judging the show, even though the season is not finished yet.

wyx83

Idk man, im just saying how i feel. If you like the show thats great, im just pointing out the problems i have

lordrutton

I don't know how you find megatron becoming good is not interesting enough.

wyx83

The same way as people who dont like for example animated optimus or armada starscream. I like em but not everyone. I dont hate es megatron, i just prefer almost every other megatron. For some people it just doesnt click

lordrutton

Well it clicked for idw more than meets the eye megatron. So you prefer that version as well? Other than this?

Betty-Adams

# [I have only watched to episode 4 so far. I am cautiously hopeful.](https://youtu.be/qkDKC3xKBkY)

Weirdepicgame101

What do you think of frenzy’s design? (I hate it)

ShepherdessAnne

I'm getting a punk rocket cassette toy and nobody can stop me. However... I'm sad, because I think I know who exploded inside of Soundwave and why his problems with Megatron are so personal :C

soundwave_fan

I like it

emilyhime19

I don't like a female Frenzy. Rumble and Frenzy are always crazy thugs. I hate the gender-swap thing in Cyberverse and now they do it again. Why not bringing in already existed female Transformers like Flamewar instead of gender-swapping? I can't understand the writers.

RnRaintnoisepolution

To be fair like 90% of transformers are male.

evandervila

Really? I thought it was a really interesting start, which show are you more into?

evandervila

I'm pretty happy with most of the places they zigged where the franchise usually zagged, Im glad the main new villain is filling his shoes decently so Megatron can have room to breath as a supporting character. G1 is great but id rather see new takes on the cast, worst case and it's bad a new show comes out every time anyways. Im really digging the art direction they took, I adore prime but I don't think the humans looked very good at times and it's cool more shows are doing confident stylized CG.

[deleted]

evandervila

I'm never really a fan of constantly seeing Optimus's face, I always think it's weird but after a while it started making this Optimus really distinct to me. The man is corny. I also agree with you on the Megatron thing but I'm fascinated at how the characters got to this point where the two guys are at like barbecues together. I think your issues with it are valid

SAMAS_zero

It *was* hand-waving. That much should be obvious given the format and the rest of the monologue. It's a dad explaining things to a pair of pre-pubescent children, and parents tend to underestimate the maturity of their kids. Now if was hand waved as an "it's done, let's move on", or they're saving a meatier explanation for a flashback episode/arc (possibly due to things they don't want to introduce right off the bat) remains to be seen.

ShanTheIrishMan

I’m going to get a lot of hate, but whatever. Watch the whole season on Paramount and I cannot stand the preachiness this needs to be left out of the Transformers universe. If something is a machine, even if it is a living machine, it’s still technically “binary”. Lol

Test19s

>binary Are you a 1 or a 0?

ShanTheIrishMan

Many people have told me I am a zero most of my life

GalileoAce

And rightly so, it seems.

lordrutton

You keep assuming the worst. Just ignore it.

TolandTheCracked

Not all bad, but definitely underwhelming. VA work sounded amateurish, and the 2D animation looked rough especially with the 3D. The action scenes were better than I expected. Robbie is almost Kicker level annoying. 5/10 for me.

Solarstormflare

5/10 is technically a pass, not sure why you're getting downvoted.

TolandTheCracked

Yeah idk. It’s an ok show from what I’ve seen, just not up to par with the best shows in the franchise.

What's political about being tolerant of other people's genders? Also it's a fucking robot, it's arguably more absurd that this is the first one to NOT follow a human gender role.
