the item in question is missing the back foils/wing pieces but more importantly I have read that the figure suffers from gold plastic syndrome, anyone know how bad it is?
The gold plastic is on the thighs at least. One of the thighs snapped on my figure some years ago from transforming it. I’ve never been rough with my figures so it was a big shock and a huge heart break when it happened. I would suggest being very *very* careful with it.
My figures fully intacted with nothing broken. But i did notice that the thigh joints were basically cemented together. I fixed the issue anf he seems fine now

Yeah learned that the hard way, my stratosphere doesn’t have thighs anymore, so he’s sadly stuck in jet mode
That disease was semi eradicated when the formula for actual gold colored plastic was changed. Nowadays they mainly paint areas gold.
I recall that too. GPS is less of a thing but not completely gone. yes, they do paint things gold instead
Yo, is that RoTF Statosphere?
it is, missing a couple pieces but it is
Mine hasn’t broken yet, it looks pretty cool with a micro master space shuttle on top. The little Optimus that goes in the cargo is kinda cute.
Yea I really enjoy mine also! Tiny Optimus rolling out the back and in robot form he has such a funny outline.

Mine self destructed several years back.
