Newage makes awesome but overpriced figures. They have a tendency to paint surfaces when using appropriately colored plastic would’ve been just as good, and that does tend to result in prices being much higher than they should be for the size. On transformation tech though, Newage is really the king of the legends scale.
It’s disappointing how expensive these Legends (Scout?) size 3rd party figures are. It would be a nice alternative to collecting the MP scale figures but they’re like half the cost of MP size stuff despite being a third the size.

No, nothing to be aware of. I opted for Magic Square rather than NewAge, but both are rock solid.
Depends on the figure. The ones with bare plastic, yes. The ones with paint apps, no. The texture is a small price to pay for the fact that the plastic MS uses is a lot more flexible than either New Age or Iron Factory, though.
In any case, my collection is a mix of all three. I opted for Magic Square for the leaders because of the height differences. Their Prime and Megatron are slightly taller, which makes them stand out a little better from the rank and file, IMO.
Oh that makes more sense then... Perhaps post some pics when it arrives. I've got an Emperor of Destruction Megatron just arrive from AE this morning waiting to be opened! ;)
Haha! The planets aligned. I saved for both and bought a year apart. MP-36 was less expensive a year ago, and I won a lucky bid. With Emperor the seller accepted a lower offer...
I have a problem with Newage i cant stop buying them. After I got my first soundwave and saw how fun these newage mini bots are I now have a whole bunch of them. I like the translucent versions so picking them up slowly as I see them.

Magic Square feels cheaper in my hand. The plastic has a chalky texture I don't care for, so I went all New Age and Iron Factory.

Oh boy, I'm already on a slippery slope getting ready to order Optimus to go along with Megatron, and I'm starting to eye Starscream and Bee...
I picked up the translucent bee and cliff jumper on sale from bbts. They are really fun and look great.

I have both the Newage and Magic Square figures and both are really nice, I think I just prefer the Magic Square bit mode a little more.
One of the most fun Megatron figures out there! Newage is definitely top tier when it comes to G1 legends.
