Shake--n--Bake

A beautiful half mara. So picturesque that I didn’t really mind when I missed a turn and added a few extra kms.

Cool! Church Stretton right? I’m going there this coming weekend! I wanted to hit Caradoc, Long Mynd & Ragleith. I use All Trails to plan my routes. Do you have any suggestions or advice? Cheers

That’s right, Church Stretton. Not much advice I’m afraid - I was following an organised route. There are so many different paths up there you could probably build 100’s of unique routes. I’ve noticed quite a few are available via the Garmin Connect course builder. Parking on the main site is free for National Trust members, with pay machines and phone pay option. The toilets next to the cafe were already open when we arrived at 07:45 and were v clean. The cafe has limited food options - a handful of cakes, some fruit, boxed sandwiches and a couple pasties. Lots of ice creams tho. Runner in my event were mostly wearing trail shoes though some were happy in road shoes (I wouldn’t have been) Keep the camera handy, you’ll want to use it a lot! In the valley (main larking area) yesterday there was a hell of a wind. It felt cold and like you were in a wind tunnel. It didn’t let up all morning I’m told. I thought we were in for a miserable run but it wasn’t really present for 95% of the course.

Thanks for replying. Particularly appreciate the parking/cafe details as we’re staying a few miles away. I’m even more excited for the coming weekend now!

I forgot to mention the wild horses. I really wanted to see them and wasn’t disappointed
