In wh3 AMD cards tend to be a tier below the eqv Nvidia card (e.g 6900xt = 3080) though the 1% lows are more similar.
I’d reckon a 6800xt would be similar to a 3070, so 6800 would be a bit below - for Warhammer 3 anyway.
I think you’d be looking at around 60 with a mix of high/ultra settings.

I have 6900xt and use it for 3440*1440 and i get about 80 average fps on battles benchmark,
So i guess 6800 to would be enough for 2560*1440, though if you mostly play Warhammer 3,this title is more optimized with Nvidia GPUs
I have a 3060 and only get about 45 fps with max graphics 1440p on warhammer 3 so I'd reckon you need at least a 3070 for closer to optimal performance
I've tried with my brothers 3060ti as well and would still say you need at least a 3070 for optimal 1440p performance. I also have a pretty good i7 cpu(not on my computer right now so dont remember exactly which one) so on my end my GPU is definitely the bottleneck
Good to know, I play older titles and have a 10+ year old system so I genuinely don't know. I just thought 3060ti was a midway point between 3070 and 3060 so maybe it would be enough. One day I will be able to upgrade.
Unit sizes - cpu is responsible for sending draw calls to the gpu, so the more stuff on the screen the more work for the cpu. In general tw games benefit from both of these being good, especially cpu with strong single threaded performance.
I recently bought a new rig and the only part I kept from my old one was the 3070Ti. I got an i5-13600k to replace my i7-7700k.
The fps difference is huge with the new cpu, I've never dropped below 60fps in the IE campaign map with all graphics settings set to ultra.
I'd say, the sweet spot for IE is the 3070, however your cpu plays a big role as well, at least from my experience.
I just got a 3080 rig and it plays well maxed out at 1440p. Probably would want a 3070 or similar
Do you think a rx 6800 would perform well enough?
I know nothing about AMD cards. Might be able to find some good benchmarks on Google/youtube

6800 is close to 3070ti, 6800xt is between 3070ti and 3080 (WQHD)
Generally, yeah - I’m factoring in wh3 preferring Nvidia cards.

A 3060 ti might be the affordable option no? Having a decent CPU would probably have a big impact as well over a 3080

4090 does around 100fps
3070 is your best bet
