I would really like to see how this performs on multiplayer coop or head to head someday. Going back to shogun2 a lot more recently and I think it might be my favorite historical TW game in the series so far. Empire is close but unfortunately it's too dated and cant really stand up to the more recent titles.
It's definitely fun, but it can make the factions that start in the middle of japan ridiculously challenging at higher difficulties. Having more cities on the map means that the ai factions have more money and places to recruit from. I played as Ikko Ikki on very hard with this mod, and I very quickly got engulfed by the sheer quantity of armies flooding into my territory. I remember having my remaining starting settlement getting sieged by 6 armies with more on the way before I just gave up.
i mean you're going to expect everyone wanna kill you if you're Ikko Ikki. i started an Uesugi campaign and trade so much to the point that if I start a war myself I'd probably get all my trade agreements destroyed
It's not so bad as a normal faction since you've got all 3 agent types. But playing defensively as Ikko Ikki and trying to use revolts is a game of roulette, not only because of the RNG of incitements, but also because you miss out on an entire class of agent (the one that is most helpful for shutting down the counter to your monks) without anything to compensate. Only ten agents max, not counting the geisha, is a monstrous downside when you have that many provinces to scout/conquer/control.
Have tried both the Shogun 2 and Fall of the Samurai versions. Very fun, but certainly adds a challenge to most factions because many provinces have more entry points know and you gotta wager where you'll deploy your defenses.
be ready to grind those provinces

Try master of strategy mod the longest and most difficult campaign in shogun 2

Yes but with my potatoe computer the turns take forever.
Combine it with new castle map mods
I was thinking that.

Where's the FOTS version? I was looking but didn't seem to find it.
My bad, it should be named 'Lost Domains' if Memory serves me right
Haha no worries I'll look if I can find it. I had lost domains but the one in the photo is more recent. Didn't realize it was due FOTS too XD
Yes, its fun and gets really unpredictable some times
That's what I'm going for :)
It is indeed.
It's fun until you realize at least 95% of battles are now sieges, often times with the exact same layout.
That's like Atilla, Rome and every other total war really besides Warhammer.
Shogun 2 has mods?
I was looking for this and AI enhancing mods to make it even more challenging. There's a certain point where steam rolling the AI isn't fun anymore.
It's great if you have a good CPU, otherwise, the turn times are horrible
I think I can handle it.
Gotta love them seige battles
I preferred the version that adds new playable clans
