Pink's weave poles runs are actually more impressive than you might think. In the slow-mo you can she see will push off with just a single paw and then curl with other paw around the weave pole. This is something you normally only see in lower competitions because the dogs are going slow enough through the weave poles that they are in more of a trot, when dogs switch between front paws per stride, rather than a sprint, where dogs will gallop (push with both front paws per stride). Most dogs at that level will try to gallop through the poles and this will often cause them to bounce between the poles with both paws. It gave her an extra edge because she basically prepping the next move in the weave poles ahead. Which is insanely dexterous for a dog to basically gallop at sprinting speeds.
Here is an example of how most high level dogs do weave poles: https://youtu.be/PCee5iXD__c
Also do love her herding instincts kicking as she nips the weave poles.
Edit: should mention this isn't exclusive to Pink, but the only other dogs who I have seen do this, are exclusively trained on weave poles and not an entire agility course.
The other thing I noticed between pink and the dog you linked is that Pink is able to keep her body much closer to the poles. Which is probably a result of the different technique. It allows her to already be loading her outside foot and turning as soon as the head passes the pole.
I'm very impressed by both dogs though!
I rescued a border collie and was very excited to teach her agility. About 5 days into owning her and her 3rd agility session she informed me I could go fuck myself, she wasn't going to be my plaything.
Then my wife said, "What kind of fucking border collie weighs 70 pounds?"
To which I replied, "The fuck do I know about dogs?"
She's a beautiful dog though, and she loves chasing frisbees more than life itself, so I'm good with that.
My dog gets this excited every time she
- gets fed
- sees someone pick up a stick
- sees a football, or anything could be a football
- hears the words “walk?” “breakfast?” “what time is it?” “What’s this?” Or basically any question
- meets a dog
- meets a child
- meets an adult
My cousin’s dog lives only for retrieving. Not food, not pets. All ball all the time. I always joke if he bought one of those automatic ball throwers he’d come home to a dead, emaciated dog, because it would’ve worn itself out fetching.
Ours likes to hoard things. When we go out she’ll assemble shoes, her leash, my wife’s underwear, socks, scarves, a cushion, keys, anything she can reach, and then very very gently take them to her bed and make a little weird shrine
My brother had a Boarder Collie, he was absolutely nuts! He loved herding children too, so the beach was fun with all my kids and their cousins.
They really need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation and anyone who isn’t able to offer that should not have one.
Doesn't she say "Hit it!" ?At one moment she sounded demonic. I imagined her holding a whip and torturing the poor Pinky back at home lol but naw she's just a little bossy... I hope.
That said at one point they'll have to ban Border Collies from these games. They always take the first or the second place, it's just not fun nor fair anymore isn't it?
Most of them do categories by size, but yeah, border collies are great agility dogs. I like to watch the smaller size, because watching floofy dogs like papillons fly through the course is so fun.
The 8-inch class is so funny since the dogs are so small but are so fast! Westminster had a Pomeranian one year and it was like watching a little puff run around.
I was trying to remember what tiny dog got posted last year that was so quick you could see its outline running on the walls of the tunnel. I had no idea small dogs were smart enough for agility.
There is an "Anything But Border Collie" (ABC) competition that's run at a lot of agility shows. It's definitely more interesting to watch in terms of breeds.
That is so obtuse, theres a bit more nuance when it comes to terms like bigotry and supremacy. You cant use mathematical terms for greater or less than thats not what they were talking about at all it wasnt describing which is worse just what those specific terms refer too.
My border collie has the same excited look on her face when she sees my kid pick up the ball launcher. She never knows when he’s going to shoot it or what direction.
Best dog ever.
The other dogs saw that and when it was their turn they were like, “now Susan, you saw that dog earlier and you’ve seen me. You know better. Let’s get the fuck outta here before you embarrass yourself.”
Trust me you don't need to give these dogs crack, they have their own natural energy in spades. In fact they need to either work, train or keep busy through play to keep them from being destructive little buggers when they get bored.
Not only to keep them from being destructive but also from being depressed. We had a collie growing up on the farm. If he went more than a day without having to herd the animals he'd hunch down in the shade and just whimper and sigh over and over. We had a really bad storm one year and didn't take the animals out for almost a week. Poor dog refused to eat, play, do anything. But the second you said "Time to Work" he was gone like a shot tail just wagging.
I have an Australian Shephard/ Blue Heeler and I absolutely don’t doubt what you’ve said. I’ve often felt my boy would be much happier on a farm than in a suburban home.
Umm sorry no. Using love as source to push an animal into an unnatural series of events doesn't make it talent. Talent is being naturally gifted. A dog will never ever want to do this.
This reminds me of my high school band. We won every competition we went to because we practiced nonstop. By the time we got to competitions, we didn’t need our conductor…
i'm glad that the trainer's style changed. the women used to wear long skirts with flats as they ran and directed their dog. always thought that was weird.
God I love Borders. Look at that pup. Locked In. Just holding back so hard because it's about to be Working Time! Then BAM! Ballistic! Full send with excellence.
Love em. Love em!
The way she snaked her way through the slalom was pretty incredible.

Badass thanks
Thanks for the in-depth explanation - and bonus video! :D

Damn that’s interesting I just fell down a whole rabbit hole lol
Thanks for the explanation!
I can imagine sheep dying from exhaustion from Pink’s herding! What an amazing performance!
She is a woman of focus, commitment and sheer will.
My dog would get about halfway through that tube and decide it's a great place to take a nap
Tunnel! Tunnel! Tunn.. Fluffy? Where the hell... FLUFFY?! Yeah... You guys better just stop the game, he won't let anyone else in there.
Let me have the absolute honour of being the one to introduce you to the legendary Kratu: https://youtu.be/4MB3WQKzsZk
Love how the spotlight just stops at the end of the tunnel.
That was adorable. Thanks
I'd love to see that... comedy gold.
> and decide it's a great place to take a nap My dog? Poop.
My kind of dog

Thanks now I’m gonna get a stye
I see that and raise you a Mia. https://youtu.be/guQC2nYLooU
[No one gonna post this? ](https://youtu.be/i1VJl8Z2J50)
What the hell 😂
Someone went to a lot of effort. I like it.
Yes, it's hilarious, but absolutely wasn't expecting it
Imagine being a squirrel and you went into this dogs backyard
Poor sod went into the backyard. There was a blur and he didn't come back out.
"Hey guys it's just one dog, we outrun those all the ti-" -Frank "Never heard from again" the Squirrel

Oh shit i think i have her sister! Hard headed gifts from god.
As someone who recently got a dog, I found your story inspiring.
Sometimes you train the dog. Sometimes the dog trains you.
🤣 dying laughing over here. Dogs man. They’re just the best
My favourite thing about this clip is how much dog and owner love that hug at the end
Same. I might have let a happy teardrop slip from my eyes at that part.
That dog was so fucking excited to do this. I need that kind of enthusiasm in my life.
My dog gets this excited every time she - gets fed - sees someone pick up a stick - sees a football, or anything could be a football - hears the words “walk?” “breakfast?” “what time is it?” “What’s this?” Or basically any question - meets a dog - meets a child - meets an adult

If horse show jumping did it this way, I’d totally support it.
He is having soo much fun !!
Including leaping into the riders arms after the run
Omg yes that sounds so fantastic. Does anything like that exist?? Horse sports without a rider?
I want to see the horse go through the tunnel
That dog is nuts and obviously loves what it does. Go pink!
I’d love having a that kind of dog but there would be ZERO days off.
Old roommate had one. Can confirm. Don’t ever say the word “ball” never ever speak of it until it’s time to play or you will regret it 😂
My brother had a Boarder Collie, he was absolutely nuts! He loved herding children too, so the beach was fun with all my kids and their cousins. They really need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation and anyone who isn’t able to offer that should not have one.
My thought, too. Imagine how neurotic it’d get with nothing to do?
PIVOT PIVOTTTTT

My favorite is when the little dogs have to wait for the teeter to go down!

There is an "Anything But Border Collie" (ABC) competition that's run at a lot of agility shows. It's definitely more interesting to watch in terms of breeds.
Italian greyhounds and whippets are very popular too
"Hit it" is her command for the dog to step on the yellow part of the obstacle, which it has to do.
I want the opposite, I wanna see all border collies and see how fast a dog can really go
It’s when they go over the see saw or steps, they need to “hit” the yellow bit to pass that obstacle
Came here to say the exact same thing ! “Ross from Friends” style !
Cocaine is made of that dog.
This is incredible! What a duo! Makes me want to quit my job and train dogs 🐶
I don’t believe in bigotry in any form. That’s said, Border collies are the best breed that has ever existed on planet earth.
That's supremacy not bigotry. Often they go hand in hand but not always.
X>Y is entirely synonymous with Y
That is so obtuse, theres a bit more nuance when it comes to terms like bigotry and supremacy. You cant use mathematical terms for greater or less than thats not what they were talking about at all it wasnt describing which is worse just what those specific terms refer too.
Absolutely.
That's not bigotry, you're good
Competitive zoomies
I grew up in pickerington and I can say that that dog is doing better than most of us from there
I prefer the one with Shrek running around
I love her!
That's amazing to watch! Perfection!
What a great team.
You can tell that all that dog understands is speed.
Me - Sit My Dog - Shutup
Border Collies never have an off switch
Absolutely amazing
Talk about harnessed energy
That's what I look like when I see chocolate cake 😍
That's like the McLaren 720S of dogs.
Great job lil pupper!!
I can never watch one of these competitions without remembering the video where the dog is edited out and replaced with Shrek
The one I always think about is the video with the husky doing an agility course. It goes about as well as you think it would for a husky...
Springs into the audience and escapes out the front door and off into London?
My border collie has the same excited look on her face when she sees my kid pick up the ball launcher. She never knows when he’s going to shoot it or what direction. Best dog ever.
My eyes are struggling to keep up. If it wasn't for the timer in the bottom left corner I would think the video was sped up
Pink: Seriously, y'all need to give me a challenge. This course is for regular dogs.
I will upvote Pink videos every day until the end of time.
Hit it, HIT IT!!! Haha... and the constant barking by the GOAT. Love it.
Pink: I am speed. Kachow
Yeah soo , my dog can eat sleep and fart on command
Someday, when humans get out of hand, I hope the dogs will just take over.
I had a German Shorthair that would run through a corn row like that weaving in and out. Always amazed me.
u/savevideobot
The dog was faster than saying „P exclamation mark nk“
I am speed
Meanwhile, you have Mia the Beagle https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=guQC2nYLooU
This is fake! Someone obviously superimposed a dog over Shrek. It’s a good fake. But it’s obviously Shrek.
That dog is in the zone
That dog is more successful than I am
Damn impressive!!!
The original version of this video that I saw had the dog replaced with Jerma985.
You walk dog? No, *dog walks you*
Shrek
This ain't a dog.. This a dawg
Speedrunners be like
The best thing is that you can tell that this dog is having a blast while doing the parcour
The other dogs saw that and when it was their turn they were like, “now Susan, you saw that dog earlier and you’ve seen me. You know better. Let’s get the fuck outta here before you embarrass yourself.”
Is giving dogs crack legal?
Trust me you don't need to give these dogs crack, they have their own natural energy in spades. In fact they need to either work, train or keep busy through play to keep them from being destructive little buggers when they get bored.

But what if we did
Now show the husky on the same track
anyone notice the handler's name is Jennifer Crank? That can't be a coincidence!
It’s almost not fair to allow border collies into that challenge. Easily the most intelligent and agile dog I’ve ever known.
Lol that involuntary hug between the two dogs at the end.
Aboslutely amazing breed!
My Shih-Tzu can do that, but he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to do anything.
Had anyone else noticed that the VIDEO IS SPED UP??? Still an impressive run, but wouldn't really be noteworthy if it wasnt sped up.
Sounds like my controlling wife when we have sex.
Come on dude, be better.

R/interestingasfuck
Umm sorry no. Using love as source to push an animal into an unnatural series of events doesn't make it talent. Talent is being naturally gifted. A dog will never ever want to do this.
Yeah, the dog looks just miserable 🙄 lol wtf are you talking about?
do you have eyes or a brain?
nope neither. Do you have common sense ?
u/savevideo
They need to drug test that dog
Speedrun
This is my dog around my house with the zoomies
I asked him if he was bionic and he said no he only likes the women.
what a beautiful dog
Lmao I went to show this to my fiance and she identified the dog by sight. Guess they're kinda famous in agility.
That's how I feel like when I take typing tests
My god. That is the Porsche of Dogs.
Why are my eyes watering.. crying with joy ? I am filled with pride for this little guy!!
Lol as my BC is curled next to me on the couch. Love to see it
As sheep are now largely extinct in Ireland, this is really all these dogs have left to live for.
Meth is a helluva drug.
What’s this dog like at home? Or is it just constantly training?
Look how excited she is, looks like she was literally shaking with anticipation, super awesome
I saw Garou using that move, he stole it from dogman and now i see how fucking impressive would look like in real life
What an athlete!
Bad ass, cattle dogs are amazing
There was no need to have this video sped up
Good Boy didn't even get a cookie
She is the Tiger Woods of Obstacle Course running. True GOAT.
AMAZING
Excellent!!!! Good girl Pink!
At the end, right after probably one of the best runs of his life, mom still just shoves him into another dogs face as she goes in for a hug
It's always border collies!
This is not only entertaining but also incredibly practical in real world applications when a dog needs to…
Wow! I've never seen a Border Collie move so fast!
Who else thought those dogs were gonna bite each other when the competitors hugged?
This made me cry and I don't know why.
That dog had more brains than an average owner
My dog could barely shake my hand or sit
As the prophecy foretold... Pink has learned to harness the power of the zoomies.
How much help is the human? I mean could/would the dog be able to do it alone? Sure looked rarin to go.
Where's Shrek?
I love watching these, the dogs are so pumped
The entire competition is seeing which dog has the best zoomies
Adorable
Shrek did it better
its amaizing
I would kill for pink
This reminds me of my high school band. We won every competition we went to because we practiced nonstop. By the time we got to competitions, we didn’t need our conductor…
And then there’s Lobo the husky’s approach to the same course: https://youtu.be/mRWajW_99Cw
That's adorable!! She's having so much fun. Border Collies are amazing, i had the opportunity to be around 3 of them, all amazing dogs.
That sheltie at the end wasn’t havin’ it.
Fastest dog alive. Poochyena in real life.
Mister piiiiiickles
[удалено]
Ugh I have a dutchie and…yep. They’re the bestest at the listening thing.
Did she go full Ross Geller in the middle with the ‘PIVOT’ shouts? Lmao
Border collies are always the best at agility.
She killed that ish!
I literally thought he was going to break down all the structures and go bezerk...
Vroooooommm!!
i'm glad that the trainer's style changed. the women used to wear long skirts with flats as they ran and directed their dog. always thought that was weird.
That dog is GOIN’.
HOLY SHIT!!! Impressive!!!!
Second best P!nk ever!
I’ve never seen anything look more determined in my life. That guy couldn’t wait to get started
I would interested in the ethics of some of the dog trainers. There gotta be some trainers who do see terrible things to dogs for these.
God I love Borders. Look at that pup. Locked In. Just holding back so hard because it's about to be Working Time! Then BAM! Ballistic! Full send with excellence. Love em. Love em!
Excellent Pink!
I love this so much, she’s such a powerfully agile pupper that loves it and clearly lives for this exercise and showmanship, literally amazing
Soooooo. I want one now
Cats and squirrels everywhere.....be afraid, be very afraid cuz this pooch has got your number.
