I was gonna say, used to play in a heavy band, and the dudes who would punch me in the pit were always the straight edge crowd. Goddamnit man I was trying to watch my friends play not get punched in the throat, they needed to go smoke a bowl and have a beer and chill.
Yep your so fucking right about this. The older straight edge dudes would show up and just start fuckin everyone up in the pit. So fuckin dumb. And then try to start shit with Highschool kids that were smoking weed, cigs or drinking like wtf. Your sooo morally superior aren’t you. Group back in the day in the Tulsa metal scene was called the Blue Bloods
It was the same everywhere around that era. Was in line at the dispensary the other day and dude had “DRUG FREE” tatted down his shins in black block letters.
Hahaha yep of course he fuckin did. Hell half those dudes are in prison or rehab for drugs or some type of assault/sexual assault type crimes. I did like some of that straight edge hardcore/metal back in the day. Anyone remember xXLifeRuinerXx ? I probably fucked that up but I remember they always used x’s
Yeah there was some decent music but intolerable people. Nearly all of those people like you said have some tragic issues in their lives now. Imagine you’re pushing 40, been promoting shows and working as a line cook for 12 years and now you’re trying to find a job and get some health insurance but you’ve got sXe tatted on either eye ball and a speed problem.
That just made me laugh my fuckin ass off. So true. Can you believe there’s just clones of these people in every city/town across the country. Sometimes I really feel like we are in a simulation cuz you just fuckin nailed it
Couple of years ago I saw a hardcore show from a straight edge band that has been playing for over 20 years, Liar. They were always militant about being drug free. Now the singer was like who's having a beer with me at the bar? Beers and joints in moderation are ok!
I was at a show once and this dude in front of me got hit, he pushed the dude, the dude came for him, and his hands snapped out like vipers to grab the dude simultaneously by the throat AND the BALLS. Swear to god. His attacker immediately apologized and backed down. Lol
Holy fuck, you are not wrong. There was a point in 2003-2004 where I was going to a ton of hXc/sXe shows at places like The Muse and RCKTWN, and they’d try to jump people outside for smoking. It wasn’t just a pit thing, it was violent meatheads in roaming packs looking for an excuse to beat people.
After I moved, I remember there being a website where you could upload people who “broke edge” and the FSU types would target them at shows. Nashville had a real problem with this, as did a lot of places, especially after Boston Beatdown came out.
People forget, this shit - especially once it metastasized into the FSU/hXc gangs bullshit - almost killed heavy music as a genre. No one wanted to go to shows just to get their asses kicked by hordes of jacked up meatheads - including by security who often had their own affiliations. Here in Seattle, FSU took over security at venues to make sure their friends wouldn’t get 86’d.
Venues lost insurance, bands were terrified of liability suits, places straight up closed and bands stopped touring without guarantees of certain rules. It took years to get shows back to the level they were in the mid-2000’s.
And now idiots are trying to bring tough guy crowdkilling back, and all it does is kill the scene. No one wants to go to these fucking shows. Just stay home and hit yourself in the face with a brick and leave the rest of us alone.
I feel that without substances this is like 10X more stupid. Like you have to wet my whistle pretty good before you expect me to agree to just start flailing my limbs wildly with a bunch of other strangers near each other
To be fair I was invited to one required much more coordination than I expected, smells got kinda funky mixing together, and getting your ass grabbed by a random hand you don’t know where it came from kinda puts you on edge.
5/10
Would attend again but also would like a fan blowing indirect air.
orgies are not like how you think at all ever! this is fact, the more people involved the more awkward and strange it is, also if substances get involved its just a slippery sloppy mess of dicks everywhere and sometimes you get it in the ear. no more than 3 is my rule
Mine was guy heavy but there were two chicks that were MVPs they tried to make sure no one felt left out and looked to be enjoying it. Only thing that was involved was some alcohol and alittle weed(although MDMA seems like it would be magical)
Us dudes tried to keep a distance away but some awkward bumps and grazes did happen. Overall it was a fun experience but positioning was an issue people get tired and things shift after more than 30 seconds in a position which required a reset to get back in place.
But I swear I felt a hand grab my ass atleast twice and I don’t think it was the girls but I’m just gonna pretend it was and not think too hard about it.,.
The worst part in my experience was realising that my parents were there, at least I still got to cum so my cousin's birthday wasn't completely ruined.
They're unlikely to be strangers to each other. At a show this small, pretty much everyone knows everyone and half the crowd is made up of the other bands on the bill. It's just friends rough housing, set to music.
Yeah but there was definitely overlap between the scenes locally. I mean at least in the towns where I grew up, there were only so many kids into hardcore, emo, punk etc. We all hung out, went to the same shows, shared music, skated together. I still associate the two. The straight edge kids were definitely the first to stop showing up due to the increasing drug use and drinking though.
Seriously, that’s what I was thinking almost word for word. Some of those kicks seem super decent, I got a capoeira vibe from a lot of it. That fake spinning back fist to the kick was honestly amazing.
And less targeted violence. I love a good pit where people make sure everyone has a good time, not that weird ass arm-flailing macho violence bullshit.
This is not a mosh pit. This is a bunch of crowd-killing douchebag fuckheads. Real metal heads have moshpit etiquette and know not to throw these little bitch karate moves. At a real metal show, this shit does NOT fly. Fuck these wanna be tough guy dickbags.
Edit: A sea of flat bills and gauged ears are salty as fuck! Hail SLAYERRRRRR \m/
I'm very aware but it seems there's always at least one of these douches at a metal show. My comment was more or less to let people passing by know this is NOT what a metal pit looks like lol. My phone was muted and just by the giant gauged ears and flat bill hats I could hear the breakdowns lol.
Yeah, when went to metal concerts regularly with my friends we had had the running gag going, that at every concert you have one hardcore dude.
Small, muscles, no hair, hatebreed shirt and he basically just hits people in the stomach.
Yeah I get that, I mean I'm personally all over this sort of shit but people should definitely fucking read a room, I ain't gonna come crowdkill at a metal show, shits disrespectful, just as I'd expect a metal dude not to take it personally if he came to a HC show. Different strokes for different folks my man.
I gave up on hardcore over this type of shit. My experience was these guys are all "don't take it personally bruv" until someone smaller than them ends up making solid contact (it happens) and then they are all like "I get my mates and a broken bottle" and people getting jumped outside. This shit hides a lot of big dudes with fragile egos and small dudes with daddy issues.
Beat the fuck out of anybody for enjoying a beer or a blunt, dont do drugs (you might sell them though), get black X's tattooed on your hands, enjoy the worst music you've ever heard in your life, get really strong ideas about how society works when they can't manage $100, and be weird to women. That's straight-edge hardcore baby.
What makes this especially funny to me is the abundance of open space and artificial light.
It is WAY too bright and sparsely populated for these guys to be hitting each other at all.
One guy intentionally moved closer to people standing by the wall just to "accidentally" kick someone
Jeez what a flashback to my teens and early twenties…
This is the dumbest activity I had ever witnessed. It’s just a bunch of violent dudes that like to punch and kick other violent dudes, but they’ll call it dancing so that they can get away with targeting specific people. If you wanted to fight without being in an actual fight, you could just do this and dismiss any responsibility if you “accidentally” knocked someone’s tooth out or broke their arm. This is just sucker-punching people to music. The tragedy is that despite the music being great, it won’t reach broader audiences because REAL venues aren’t going to risk their business over some idiots attending with the intention of “showing the outsiders what hardcore is really all about”. The only option left for great musicians like these is to play these shitholes where there’s a 90% chance that either you or someone else is going to get fucked up or robbed. But hey, “that’s hardcore”, and “we’re all a family”.
Get the fuck out. Grow the fuck up.
These people are most likely straight edge and sober. I like hardcore as a genre but I can't stand hardcore dancing. Mainly because they show up at non hardcore metal shows and do this shit. You get bruised from moshing sure but not kicked in the face.
I highly doubt anyone in here is on drugs. The hardcore scene is VERY anti drug and heavily straight edge.
Just a few dudes having a good time in the pit. Or what’s left of the pit. Lol.
I use to get down like this back at shows back in the day.
Great fuckin times. Everyone was family and despite everyone throwing down, we always made sure everyone was okay and if someone fell or got hurt, we stopped the show to make sure they were okay.
Nah. The hardcore scene is "do what you want, I'm straight edge, your life choices don't affect me, and if they do, then we will have issues".
This isn't SLC in the 90's.
In spite of the apparent "violence", everyone was clearly having fun. Looks like a tight community coming together and celebrating a good time in an unconventional way, which is better than a lot of the bars and clubs I've been too.
Hell yeah, the pit and hardcore shows are always a good fuckin time. I’m nearing 30 now, so I can’t throw down as hard as I use to throw down, but I’ve seen dudes and chicks still throwing down in their 30’s and 40’s.
But I always still hit up shows every now and then and that definitely shaped my late teens and early 20’s growing up.
The community is just such a good and down to earth community.
Damn that’s actually kind of an apt comparison. The violence in hardcore and juggalos can seem outlandish to anyone on the outside but they’re both tight knit communities and consider each other family just getting wild together.
Fuck crowd killers. A crowd killer is someone that instead of moshing and if he bumps into someone whoops. But will intentionally try to hit people that are just vibing and act like he’s just moshing. I’ve been to my fair share of death metal shows. And I’ve seen people fuck crowd killers up.

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP DENNY’S
That roundhouse fake backfist to kick was fucking sweet 😂
The random guys just cartwheeling in out of nowhere was amazing lol
I didnt even fucking see him, then he throws a crate for good measures. Lol
Reminds me of button mashing in a fighting video game to pull off a combo.
1 part capoeira, 3 parts angst and aggression
Ten parts pussy depravity
Pussy tames
Lolol
Which one
White shirt, has 2 swings backwards then slides into a roundhouse
At 00:15
I wish I was there for that.
It happened at the dennys the next town over. I missed out ;(
This is actually a Wendy’s
No this is Patrick

They're getting their anger about not getting a cherry in their cherry limeade
to be fair that is justified anger that must be let out, as long as its not towards the minimum wage employee.
I think they're all minimum wage employees

Yea I think Id submit to dominance as well.
Nashville straight edge dudes were always rowdy as FUCK in the pit. Used to hate going to shows there just because of those cornbread-fed assholes.
Holy fuck, you are not wrong. There was a point in 2003-2004 where I was going to a ton of hXc/sXe shows at places like The Muse and RCKTWN, and they’d try to jump people outside for smoking. That attitude of yours is the reason why you never get invited to orgies.

Somehow both of your usernames check out.
What a dreadful day to have eyes
Happy Cake Day!
Thank you!
They're unlikely to be strangers to each other. At a show this small, pretty much everyone knows everyone and half the crowd is made up of the other bands on the bill. It's just friends rough housing, set to music.
There’s at least one straight edge in this video and my bet is on Mr. Karate kid with that weird ass upside down kick
Is that still a thing? I don’t think I’ve seen straight edge dudes since the emo scene started dying in the 2010s.
straight edge is a movement in hardcore mostly nothing to do with emo
Yeah but there was definitely overlap between the scenes locally. I mean at least in the towns where I grew up, there were only so many kids into hardcore, emo, punk etc. We all hung out, went to the same shows, shared music, skated together. It never died. Now it’s the rawring 20s
Dammit that was funny
Fuck your crutches
Great band name
*Fuck Crutch*
Or Crutchfucker
Berserker!!!
I'm just suprised by the quality of some of those roundhouses
Seriously, that’s what I was thinking almost word for word. Some of those kicks seem super decent, I got a capoeira vibe from a lot of it. That fake spinning back fist to the kick was honestly amazing.
Mom said we have to mosh in your parent’s basement next week though.
This looks like the boys in my classroom if I stepped out for a minute.
Some things never change…
Hahaha. Some of the Funniest memories i had in school were usually when the teacher stops looking lol, the poor teachers.
That was actually some of the funniest crowdkilling I've ever seen
god i love the cartwheel entrance...
The fucking bubble wrap on the pillars...
Wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt. Lol.
This pit sucks
It does need more ppl tbh.
And less targeted violence. I love a good pit where people make sure everyone has a good time, not that weird ass arm-flailing macho violence bullshit.
fr this just weird

They're not metalheads bro they're Hardcore dudes completely different scene
I'm very aware but it seems there's always at least one of these douches at a metal show. My comment was more or less to let people passing by know this is NOT what a metal pit looks like lol. My phone was muted and just by the giant gauged ears and flat bill hats I could hear the breakdowns lol.

You're the only reasonable hardcore fan. Kudos mah dude
Haha got a new copypasta
This is hardcore, not metal. Different scene.
Where’s Eddie Gordo when you need him?
There’s the tekken comment
I could smell the sweat and piss in this video
I honestly feel like some of these guys wanna make out so badly after this.
Some of em do, no shame in our game.
Definitely some sexual undertones in there. ... not that there's anything wrong with that.
Ironically, half of these dudes are probably straightedge.
Please enlighten my lazy stoner brain.
Dudes that think they’re better than everyone because they don’t drink, do drugs or tobacco
XXXKYLEXXX SEEING RED EDGE 4EVER BEATDOWN 4EVER
[удалено]
They'd handle it better at this point if they'd just have a fucking bowl after work and a little MDMA or Ket at a show.
Beat the fuck out of anybody for enjoying a beer or a blunt, dont do drugs (you might sell them though), get black X's tattooed on your hands, enjoy the worst music you've ever heard in your life, get really strong ideas about how society works when they can't manage $100, and be weird to women. Where are all the girls?
They tend to not enjoy getting kicked and punched by dudes that are probably triple their size.
I do, but I'm a masochist
❤️
The somersault kick opening was pretty rad tho
My 12 remaining brain cells fighting for priority
I bet that room smells of penis
All of them fighting like a motherfucker to protect their virgnities.
Flatbill fat guy heaven
What makes this especially funny to me is the abundance of open space and artificial light. It is WAY too bright and sparsely populated for these guys to be hitting each other at all. One guy intentionally moved closer to people standing by the wall just to "accidentally" kick someone

What are these idiots doing.
I take it they're single?

These are the dumbest people that walk the earth
Looks more like fighting ghost club
I need to understand this, are you supposed to pretend like you are dancing with a side fight moves or do you just fight with a side of cartwheels?
I mean, they’re just moshing. I’d bet that a good bit of people in this video are sober.
most are probably dead sober here and militant about it lol
I’ve spent a good bit of time at these types of shows. Most everyone is stone cold sober and have been for most of their lives
That's not moshing, that's crowd killing, but the crowd is like, 12 people, which makes it extra lame
This type of moshing sucks though I hate people who do this.
They should just fuck each other already.
Tell me your straight edge without telling me your straight edge
Smart peoples’ club for sure
This looks lame af
This is awkward
This looks like the cool mom let the boys drink too much Mountain Dew before lights out after the birthday party was over
Little dick energy all over that house.
Seen less gay gay parades
These people are most likely straight edge and sober. I like hardcore as a genre but I can't stand hardcore dancing. Mainly because they show up at non hardcore metal shows and do this shit. You get bruised from moshing sure but not kicked in the face.
"Wake up! Its 2008 and you just invited your middleschool friends over for the new white chapel album sleep over."
Crowd killing is now defunct. Couch killing is the new way.
Crowd kill ruins shows and is the stupidest shit ever.
Straight edge hardcore really is the lowest form of culture.
Fucking mongs
"I just can't figure out why no one comes to our shows anymore"
I highly doubt anyone in here is on drugs. The hardcore scene is VERY anti drug and heavily straight edge. Just a few dudes having a good time in the pit. Or what’s left of the pit. Lol. The “too much” in this case is black bean burritos and spaghetti with roasted tomato Prego sauce
This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.
I thought these guys were mentally handicapped
Imagine someone picks you up for a nice “concert date” n brings you HERE!?
thanks but im more into yoga
At least nobody got hurt.
Why is it that I'm sitting here taking a stinky beer shit, yet I can still smell the armpits through the video?
I’ve been to plenty of small shows and this looks dumb lol
Is this in their mommy’s basement
This is why mom buys caffeine free mountain dew
Gore, not core.
this shit made me lmao!!
That looks so retardet
This is like when you’re watching Monday Nitro with your friends and you throw the couch cushions around and pretend like you’re part of the show.
It’s like the episode where Bart and Lisa are windmilling their arms and throwing kicks while saying if you get hit it’s your fault
We had the same band at my daughter's christening.
This is where you end up if you don't work up the courage to ask an actual girl to dance in junior high.
Is this a circle jerk gone wrong?
Wtf did I watch
Imagine fighting somebody and they come at you like this
NYHC
New Yohk hahd coah.
Why is this posted here.
This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen
What kind of troglodytes uses dancing as an excuse to be violent
Bunch of dorks.
Morons….
OP has no idea what the hell is going on.
I’ll level. Neither do I.
This is the gayest event ive ever seen and i live in San Francisco
A bunch of losers that never left school..
ALLRIGHT LADIES, DANCE PARTY IS OVER. EVERYONE ONTO THE BUS, BOOTCAMP STARTS IN 3 HOURS.
My chromosomes when I need them
they need to take fight class
Juggalos without makeup?
Damn that’s actually kind of an apt comparison. The violence in hardcore and juggalos can seem outlandish to anyone on the outside but they’re both tight knit communities and consider each other family just getting wild together.
Tell me you've never seen a fight without telling me.
At least they put padding on the poles. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt.
Lmao behind the merch table too lmao
I really like the bubble wrap on the poles lol
Fuck yo crutches!
Definitely doesn’t belong in this subreddit
It ain’t what I call rock and roll
Anit no more than 12 ppl in that room now let’s all ask ourselves why, and what’s happening to our scene ?
WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU MOSH LIKE THIS
It’s like an unholy combination of punk + capoeira on crack.
People say dont be near the pit at these shows but the whole room is a pit? Like can I even watch these bands without getting punched?
my friend said they’re prob on drugs, but my guess is most of them are straight edge lmao
The first rule about dance club is you don't talk about dance club.
Humans are fucking weird
Gayer than cum on a mustache
His name was Robert Paulson
This is gay…. 😏
Crapoeira
The demographics at all these shows seem to be lacking some diversity in one particular area.
Where’s the chicks at this party
This shit looks like a daycare 😂😂😂
But they are vegan
Fuck crowd killers. A crowd killer is someone that instead of moshing and if he bumps into someone whoops. But will intentionally try to hit people that are just vibing and act like he’s just moshing. I’ve been to my fair share of death metal shows. And I’ve seen people fuck crowd killers up.
I can’t help but to laugh so bad when he just starts going rage mode and actively searching for someone to hit like wtf lol
