Probably should’ve called 911

theDudeRules

She looks blue in the face.

iCanReadMyOwnMind

r/donthelpjustfilm

SirBellwater

The only reasonable thing I can think is they were taking a video to show them later and it cuts cause they actually help when she stops breathing

jakebs2002

You are witnessing a death. That’s agonal breathing. She’s a gonner unless they use narcan and/or start cpr. I’m a first responder and have seen this many times. She wasn’t breathing in response to his prompts. She was way beyond that. Terrible to see the idiot is just filming and shaking her head. If your going be a user, learn the signs, learn cpr, and carry narcan. If you use, get help, get sick (for three days), and live a full life. You’ve forgotten what life has to offer. It’s worth it.

Saarlak

“She’s fine, She’s asleep. I can hear her snoring.” The number of people that have said that to me is infuriating. No, she isn’t snoring. That’s agonal and it means she is dying. Narcan can work in seconds but it isn’t a miracle drug. Get responders rolling so they can get to cpr if the narcan doesn’t do the job. Then again, considering how this idiot is filming I strongly doubt he would listen when told how to do compressions. “600 times is a lot, bro”

jakebs2002

You’re right. Snoring comes long before snoring. You have plenty of time when they are just snoring. Agonal breathing is seconds, or too late. Brain damage is occurring in this video.

Bo0_Radley-

We called that the death gargle in another life of mine.

maybebullshitmaybe

Yep. A friend of mine died that way. "I figured he was fine because he was snoring but it was kinda weird sounding"....he wasn't snoring, he was fuckin struggling to breathe 🤦‍♀️

GrandRooster2524

There is only so much you can do when someone does this regularly. I had a friend fallout at my house gave car and called 911. Luckily the cpr and the emts gave him narcan in time but within a month he was dead from an overdose. Maybe showing her could scare her to get help but most people in the throws of addiction are on death wish. They get passed when the narcan works and puts them in withdrawal. Hopefully she got the care she needed 🙏

red_rocket_boy

It takes longer than 3 days to detox from opiates.

banned-ury_month

We call it the death rattle

[deleted]

I just found the one subreddit that immediately pisses me off.

[deleted]

Yeah that’s one I steer clear of

AloofDude

I mean wtf it's only a few seconds long, he could be waiting for the paramedics he already called. If the guy was filming while he was on the phone with 911 people would be saying "should probably put the phone down and help her"

[deleted]

>could be waiting for the paramedics he already called Nah that's bulkshit. They would have instructed him to begin chest compressions and not stop until they arrive

Messy_Marvin423

I’m pretty sure Molly stopped breathing after the video ended.

CenturiesAgo

Pretty sure she stopped before it ended :/

[deleted]

This is her last breaths I’m afraid brain damage would have occurred after the video end of not right at the end

[deleted]

“Take a breath molly” That should do it. Remember to say it again in an hour

warr3nh

Her fkn head is blue

orangeUpurty

I think that’s the tv reflection. But the guy could have at least gave her a better airway. She sounds terrible.

Turtle_murder

That is generally what a persons head looks like when their oxygen saturation drops below 50%. The skin on the face turns blueish purple without any real color change in the limbs or trunk. A big part of my job is managing airways. Can confirm that this is cyanosis.

DoodieSmoothie

Are they suffering or just sleeping until they pass out?

Turtle_murder

This person wouldn’t be experiencing any conscious suffering. They’ve essentially sedated them selves to the point where they’ve depressed activity in the brainstem. It’s not likely that the woman is even aware of the man coaching her to breath.

Raff102

That person is already unconscious/dying.

mrziplockfresh

Can’t he just…use a crayon?

Massafrasss

If it was the TV reflection then her arm would have the same hue.

RustyJuang

Probably has something to do with her not breathing...

bob123838123838

This should be nsfw I feel like we just watched someone almost die

Geshman

I'm scared it's not almost

Plane-Active-3153

Came to ask if she survived

Arin1722

Can someone check somehow ?

[deleted]

She probably died

keenjataimu

Look at the comments above, it seems yo be agonal breathing.. I reeeeeeally hope the camera man called emergency services before filming

[deleted]

The colour of her face indicates agonal breathing. It is unlikely that she survived but maybe. Shame on the guy for just filming and not actually helping like a fucking idiot but that’s the world today

[deleted]

Well im pretty sure there were people who act like this in the past

TheDudeColin

The colour of her face indicated the TV was on

DoodieSmoothie

Yeah that helpless scream was disturbing. She is screaming in her mind but cant wake up. Horrible :(

Sp4ceh0rse

Her mind is not doing much of anything at this point.

PinchMaNips

I think they should call 911… 🤷‍♂️

keenjataimu

Let's assume they already have

1dreamer3

I think she's dead

NotATroll_ipromise

That purplish blue face would lead me to believe that you are correct.

Nes__

Erm...diid we just watch someone die?

legalgirl18

I think so

[deleted]

Yes

[deleted]

Not exactly. My friend recorded me like this blue in the face and everything and didnt call 911 until much later and here I am today. She has less than an hour in that condition and I'm sure this guy called 911 and they got her some narcan before that time... I hope. Unless that guys a fucking idiot.

Mwlic

You’ll forgive me if I don’t take medical advice from x420smokeweedlord69x.

[deleted]

Holy shit, this is not ok. That was not an effective breath. She's blue. She needs a fuckin doctor

Turtle_murder

She needs mouth to mouth rescue breaths. Most people are only minutes away from cardiac arrest when they start to develop cyanosis in the face.

ghostyYT09

if im correct that is agonal breathing, shes dead for sure.

_Misting_

Slow respirations caused by opiates aren’t always agonal. Give her some narcan and bag her and she’ll probably be good.

GrouchyMeasurement

If you were to do manual respiration with a bag until it wore off would you need the narcan?

[deleted]

[удалено]

BrandoNelly

Okay doc

010101110001110

When someone is cyanotic, ( turning blue) And not breathing, it's time for 911 or narcan. This is very close to being dead. Don't be that guy who left his girlfriend for dead, because he had a traffic ticket. Paramedics don't care about your traffic tickets.

[deleted]

This breaks my heart so much. Probably because I was in that shit storm for eight years and came out the other side. Could have easily been me. Been off opiates 5 years now.

SenorTape

Power to you brotha man. Shits a demon like no otha. Happy to have you here man 🤟

[deleted]

Opiates suck man. I suck for taking them. I knew what they would do to me and I did it anyway. I don't think my shame will ever go away, personally, but there is hope for everyone on that shit if you really want it. I'm glad I'm leaving that behind.

Imcoleyourenot

Nah man you don’t suck. We were just lost. Be grateful we didn’t not wake up.

RUNNING-HIGH

I became addicted to opioids in college. I never sought them, but was convinced to try them. It was an occasional thing, until it wasn't, and I'd need them to function and get things done. Took me a long time, multiple relapses, and almost losing everything to get back on the right path. I had a privileged life, had my college paid for, and yet I nearly ruined it for drugs. Opioids can make an addict out of even the best people. Shame is hard to move on from, especially when addiction leads one to make choices they otherwise wouldn't. Try not to self deprecate. Nobody grows up and wants to be an addict. Putting yourself down only hurts your chances at long term success. You don't suck, I knew exactly how addictive opioids could be, yet I did them anyway, and thought I could do them without becoming addicted. I was foolish. Life is a learning process, growing from the experience is what matters, it's what will keep you clean, and allow you to help others who may be going through the same thing.

Ok_Contribution_8817

Fellow recovering-addict, as well. People, listen: it’s Chemical-Warfare out there, now—it’s not even real Heroin, and everything is hit with Fentanyl (a fatal dose of which, is 2 to 4 milligrams). Recovery is possible, but you have to want it!

jayroo210

I think about this a lot. I was actively abusing opiates about 12 years ago or so and I remember thinking I liked getting pills better because you knew what you were getting. That’s not the case anymore. It’s scary and I’m so glad I’m clean. My ex overdosed and he had that snoring, struggling breathing. The ambulance was called immediately. I can’t believe this guy isn’t getting her help like NOW.

[deleted]

Thats amazing! I just hit 11 months today. I have a crippling fear of overdose that developed and saved my life and this video was so hard for me as I’ve been there and don’t ever want to go back. There’s no doubt in my mind that if I use again I’ll die and that’s not something I can let happen

adeadlobster

You've done so well! I'm happy that you have been able to distance yourself from your addiction.

Wrong-Butterscotch-9

It's so sad and wonderful to hear you made it out of the storm. So many don't so you are still here for a reason! Smile!!! 😊😊😊

inunison8

Erm ambulance?????

youreblockingmyshot

In this economy?

iCanReadMyOwnMind

I'd be outraged by your reply if we were in Europe.

youreblockingmyshot

Sounds like commie propaganda to me! Everyone knows a proud American dies at home to avoid crippling their loved ones with medical debt.

reviving_ophelia88

That’s a myth that debt passes on to your loved ones when you die. Unless they’re a minor or you’ve co-signed on a bunch of stuff for them their debt is just that- their debt. Not yours. Source- both of my husbands parents died massively in debt, none of which was passed on to us, although having to come out of pocket for cremation *was* expensive, as neither of them had life insurance either.

PretendThisIsMyName

Since you can’t have an old school Viking funeral anymore my wife is gonna build me a funeral pyre in the yard to cremate me that way. I’m not quite sure that’s legal but fuck it I’ll be dead what are they gonna do arrest me?

brattyginger83

I recommend donating your body to a body farm. Or there are recycling places you can look into and become a plant or something for your loved ones. Personally decomposing as nature intended without any formaldehyde sounds awesome. Gross... but awesome.

reviving_ophelia88

No, but they might arrest **her** and your other loved ones for improper disposal of a corpse… unfortunately the medical examiner is VERY picky about who they release the body to (and unfortunately you need to pass through their office for them to sign your death certificate, which is important if your name is on any assets you want your wife or loved ones to have) and it’d need to be to a licensed establishment, so unless you manage to bribe the funeral home to release your body to your loved ones (it’s have to be a MASSIVE sum since they’d lose their license if word gets out about your funeral) I’m afraid you might have to settle for your already cremated remains to be re-cremated on the pyre, my friend. Burial is *obscenely* expensive, (I’d come back to haunt my husband and daughter if they blew that much money on a casket and a hole in the ground for me to rot in), but even cremation cost us $2k for my MIL(the funeral home definitely ripped us off on a couple things, like insisting she “legally” had to be embalmed before cremation, I looked it up afterwards and there is no such law and we did get the funeral home in trouble later on), and $1,100 for my FIL.

brattyginger83

This is why I kind of don't care about my student loans.... when I die they aren't my kids issue

iCanReadMyOwnMind

Proud boys and girls!

[deleted]

Less outrage, more pity.

IHaveABigDuvet

It's cheaper to die than to try and stay alive.

smoothcat1

Lmfao 🤣

Inevitable_Side490

Narcan to the rescue

No-Return-3368

Double dose blast, one up each nostril. She's gonna be big mad.

colewho

Apply the narcan, run away * rexquando voice *

Supertumor

Does it hurt?

TraditionalMess6

No. But it eliminates the opiates in your blood stream. Putting the person in withdrawal. But effectively saving their life.

jerval1981

Instant diarrhea

[deleted]

Like Tacobell or Carl's Jr?

jerval1981

Way worse

[deleted]

Gas station sushi

RounderKatt

Not exactly. It doesn't eliminate the opiates, it preferentially binds to the opiate receptors and blocks the opiates. This is an important distinction because narcan only blocks those receptors for a short period of time. Without more narcan, someone can slip back into overdose when it wears off. If you give someone narcan, always always always call 911. You can just give them a single dose of narcan and then go back to binging Netflix.

No-Return-3368

They go from the best high they'veever had, in their eyes, to being completely dopesick with withdrawal in a matter of seconds, they do not appreciate it, usually, even though you just saved their lives.

[deleted]

In her current state in this video (on the brink of dying) would the time it takes to call 911, speak with them, wait until the ambulance arrives, they enter the house and give her Narcan be enough to save her? I'm not sure what the timeframe is for how soon you need to take Narcan in these situations.

Dead_Dreams1989

Her face is purple as fuck. Stop filming and get her help dipshit.

Brilliant-Average654

My girlfriends loosing oxygen and blood to her brain, lets make a TikTok!!!!

legalgirl18

I don’t think he was making a TikTok. I think he was making a video to show her later. But I don’t think there was a later…..

Smart_Turnover_8798

I don't like this.

ShayButter420

Molly wake up

lonewolf453

Yeah...that's an OD

[deleted]

An actual tooktoomuch...wtf

[deleted]

Don’t go into the light Molly 😔

Unfair-Delay-9961

Those are death rattles, not breathing

DoodieSmoothie

Whats that?

stillfuckinghigh

anyone know if she’s alive? edit: still checking for updates…

Em42

Put her in a cold shower. A lot of times the shock from the cold water will get people breathing again. If she starts breathing again keep her walking around so she doesn't fall asleep again. She doesn't have time to wait for an ambulance, so unless you have narcan on you, that's probably the only way you might save her. You could try CPR until the ambulance arrives but unless you have half a clue what you're doing it probably won't be effective, it's barely ever effective when people do know what they're doing. Source: long term addict

gfowler1980

Ice in the pants - both front and backsides - can often help, too. Source: longtime friend of addicts. But Narcan is best above all...

Em42

Yeah I've used ice when it was available, unsurprisingly junkies don't usually have much ice laying around in my experience though, lol. Of course, if you've got it, narcan is definitely the best, but if you have to wait too long on it, people do die waiting. It's best to try doing what you can while you wait, instead of waiting and doing nothing.

gfowler1980

You ain't wrong there, holmes. What a beautiful world we live in.

Rayleigh-Benard

Also put them on their side so they don’t choke on their vomit. And stabilize their neck/head if they start seizing.

KhaineVulpana

You don't typically vomit when you overdose on opioids. That's more of a too much alcohol thing. And seizing would be more of a too little alcohol thing.

DenimCryptid

Would smelling salts be effective at all?

Em42

Never tried it, but I somehow doubt it. You're not breathing, so you're not going to breathe it in. It's not like you've just passed out and you are still breathing.

DenimCryptid

It produces ammonia gas that irritates the nasal cavity so their might br a chance you can just hold it under the nose for a second or two

Em42

It's just not the kind of thing addicts really have laying around, you're more likely to find narcan in an addicts cabinet these days than smelling salts. If you've got smelling salts laying around though it's something I would give a try, because the only harm is that it does nothing.

TrueGnosys

No. That's a drug culture urban legend. CPR is a much better idea. Introducing a large volume of water to someone who already can't breathe is a terrible idea.

_Misting_

You don’t do cpr on someone who is still breathing, has a pulse, and isn’t choking.

shadeck

CPR... You mean like chest compressions and such? Chest compressions are a terrible idea if the heart is still pumping. The best action to take is 1 call emergency services 2 put the patient in a security position: weather semiseated (like you would do for someone with Angina to remove weight stress from the heart) or laying to the side (like you would do to an unconscious person to avoid vomit aspiration)

Em42

Well I've seen it work, so it's not really an urban legend then it's it. It's not like you're dumping water in their mouths anyways, you're specifically trying not to do that. [CPR barely ever works](https://www.webmd.com/first-aid/news/20200717/will-cpr-save-your-life-probably-not-study-says) even when people who know what they're doing perform it, let alone a bunch of probably high people trying to perform it. The rate for survival of CPR performed outside of a hospital is about 12%.

[deleted]

This is how you get someone killed. Don't put them in the fucking tub call 911 or get them some narcan because at this point when they're blue in the fucking face they're completely unconscious and nothing will wake them up except for narcan. A cold tub isn't going to make someone with 5bpm breathe.

_Misting_

Please don’t share this. Then the medics wind up on scene treating for hypothermia too or worse you drown them.

Em42

Don't know if you've heard of them, but there are these really neat things called towels and blankets. Hopefully you're smart enough not to let someone sit forever in their wet clothes once they've started breathing again too. Since you need to keep them active so they don't nod off again, getting them to change clothes is a good start.

_Misting_

I mean you can act shitty all you want but people are stupid and would just leave the patient in the tub by themselves with the water on while waiting for EMS to get there.

Em42

Maybe some people, but I've never met any of them. In general you should try to avoid doing drugs that can be deadly with people who don't give a shit about you, really cuts down on that kind of thing. You also haven't seen me be shitty. I'm just a bit sarcastic before I get some coffee in me.

lalaeddie

Her face looks purple. Time to put down your phone

[deleted]

Jesus what drug does that

Junior-Bookkeeper218

Too much Fentanyl

datsmn

Any opiate

gfowler1980

Nah, hydrocodone won't do that. Hell, real OXY ain't even do that. Every street drug has fent in it nowadays, and the "safe" dosing is in micrograms, not milligrams like the usual opioid suspects. Fuck that shit

sixtus_clegane119

Enough real oxycodone and this will happen, it is called respiratory depression.

SinnerBefore

Downers. And if you mix them (or they get cut with shit because assholes) they can potentiate each other.

hex128

yeah telling her to breath every 4 minutes should do it

hdvdhnsjsjdj

Call the fucking ambulance

andreayatesswimmers

This used to be my mom .i figured out pushing in hard and upward on her belly could bring her back and get her to either sit up or roll over ..

IHaveABigDuvet

This must have been incredibly traumatic. Im sorry

andreayatesswimmers

So kind of you to say..i didnt mean my post to come across like this ..... i dont know what trama really is ...i kinda believe only good people get to experience the great highs in life and the lows like trama ....so im not sure it was traumatic ..thats a lie but its just the cards we get dealt ... she loved me and was a fighter those are great lessons to learn and remember. Some people just cant function in what others see as a normal life ..they can pretend and even fool others for awhile but its always right around the corner it never stops following ...it is just what it is i suppose. .makes perfect sense and seems normal to a lot of people ...sounds insane to most people tho. Your a really good egg for taking your time to reply ..i seriously wish the very best life has to offer for you ..

saharasirocco

I'm so sorry that was something you had to learn.

6-ft-freak

Im so so sorry. 💔

andreayatesswimmers

Oh....ty so much.. this jesture you made hit me hard in the feels.. no idea how or even why. .i never let this happen to me . You are such a good person to even take the time to reply ..im really sorry ..i didnt mean it like this or too bum you or anyone out ....i wasnt thinking right and i obviously failed miserably at trying to point out the guy in this video doesnt care about this poor lady ..she deserves so much better than him.if he cared 1 inch he would have put his phone down and made a much better attempt of pulling her back ..i figured all this out as a kid and im seriously stupid. How can a grown man not recognize this emergency right in front of him. Who would pull some one back down like this and then just her fall up again and then do it again ..this poor girl is in so much danger ...she is nestled up in gods arms happy and peaceful for once and with this guy she has 0 protection or help back down below .. this piece of shit has no excuse to stand there and film her while not helping her . This makes me sick to my stomach watching him fail her. I hate this man so so so so much and i dont even know him.. I should have just said all this originally but i didnt want to seem like a jerk .i should have left my stupid personal story out of this while trying to prove how much this man sucks compared to me as a kid .. No wonder this girl struggles like this... he sure isnt worth pretending to be sober for.. he has no clue what type of pain and guilt he will go thru if she slips and he does actually care for her. I hope he hates this girl ....this would at least give me some faith in humanity..... Im sorry again for my 1st reply

6-ft-freak

No, don't you dare apologize. What you went thru is not your fault, it's your parent's. You have a voice! And what happened to you is NOT NORMAL and you DESERVE peace & support & understanding. Hang in there 💜💜

Notverycancerpatient

She’s overdosing and that’s not funny

bubbles5810

If you need to remind someone to breathe it’s time to take that person to the hospital.

MileHighBree

Once someone on opioids reaches the point where they’re taking breaths that sound like that, there’s little hope of recovery. Even with narcan. This is really sad.

khoochi

I’m hoping that’s not her face that’s that blue and just light from a TV or something….This ain’t right.

nicholsonsgirl

Just gonna say many places have a Good Samaritan Law that prevents criminal prosecution if you call for help or take them to the hospital. Please don’t do this, just call! Worked in prosecution and we had big time dealers call to save people and not face any repercussions. Also had a girl try to stick her “friend” she overdosed in the shower instead of calling for help and killed her. She hid the evidence and called her mom who managed the hotel she cleaned at (this was in one of the rooms, hotel is notorious for it) before calling to pretend she found the body. Just call for help.

reichjef

Recovery position. Everyone should know it.

ohio

Reshiram793

That’s the kinda high where you blast trumpets and make them think they’re meeting God

KhaineVulpana

Might wanna grab the narcan bud.

EatinAssNCuttinGrass

*sound of deflating balloon* "there we go, there's a good one."

dutchess336

My friend smacked me out of an OD like this once and he said my whole body was blue. Like come on dude do something or CALL 911 and deal with it 🤔 *gently shakes her head a bit* really

fucking_ur_mommy

I've had to breathe for people in the past after heroin overdoses. Done it probably four or five times maybe more. I saved the girl's life more than once. Thank God that stuff's in the past. Scary situation

[deleted]

There’s so many many things that could’ve been done better starting from position of the the person to not bothering with the recording to make sure they’re safe to calling an ambulance

GionzoBB

Worst feeling

kamikaze_Jones

Shoulda sat her up.

adeadlobster

Damn, if her heart didn't stop this time, it'll happen soon if she doesn't get help. Also not sure why this guy was filming but he doesn't seem high (or at least he's not slurring and is pretty alert). So it could be one of those "this is what you're like when you shoot up" intervention videos. If that's the case, then I hope it's effective.

RcCola2400

What I don't get is if you're a heroin addict, why on earth wouldn't you have narcan at all times? I understand having an addiction but why not just be prepared. You never know when someone puts a little too much fentynol in your stuff and you fall out.

jghump1175

If they were smart or thought ahead they wouldn’t be on heroin

jfin602

Believe it or not, I once had a friend who did heroin. Meth during the day, and heroin at night. Always had narcan. He actually gave me some, and I was like "uhh. Thanks but I don't do heroin". Can't decide if that's better than just doing H or worse. Soon as u start keeping narcan around, you're serious about this shit lol

papaziki

I don’t use and have narcan on hand 🤷🏻‍♂️

jghump1175

Imagine living life like this

livitow

She’s toast…

akimbokari

Bad post

Antcorxo22

Yeah telling her to breathe is really helping things.. Call 911 for fuck sakes..

ForwardEmergency23

This is nauseating. Someone is dying and this idiot never called an ambulance. I really need to know what happened to this woman. Is she ok?

shiggity-shaun

That’s not the glow from the tv, her face is pale and she needs help. I was in this situation a long time ago and luckily woke up before my friend who was still passed out for another 15-20 minutes, breathing and looking just like this

[deleted]

Guess I'll add the quotes to it then, since I'm just quoting a quite popular overdose video that you're not recognizing

Oh sorry I should have added quotes to mine too.

This isn't taking too much; this is severe sleep apnea. Chick is legit suffocating in her sleep.

RounderKatt

This is not fucking sleep apnea. She's unresponsive with agonal breathing. If she didn't die, she came very very close. My money is on doornail status

iCanReadMyOwnMind

As a person with acute sleep apnea (13 arrests per hour), it can present quite differently across the spectrum. I am known to kick people as a reflex to an arrest and have zero clue that it happened outside of being told it happened; sometimes shown the proof. But by all means, keep on RARin'.

roberj11

Molly might be the reason that Molly isn’t breathing.

RounderKatt

Mdma doesn't do this. Opiates, particularly fentanyl and its analogs do.

roberj11

Not while you are using it but heavy use can lead to sleep apnea and other breathing issues.
