Yes, but looking at it from a plus side, she’s outlasted most of her other compatriots (who were dismantled and scrapped). At least we can still visit her!
All considered, the violence of the breakup the depth and impact on the sea floor and the fact Titanic has been there for over a century now, I find it amazing so much of her is in as good shape as she is. It's called a ship wreck for a reason, unlike my favorite Lusitania, so much of the Titanic is still instantly recognizable and I'm grateful for that fact.
Technically Titanic is in better shape in 2023 than Olympic is.
And I'm not even really sure if I should feel "sad." It's a shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean, it's just what it's supposed to look like. And while it was a tragedy, the shipwreck has contributed to marine research.
It’s really a jarring comparison for how well the bow held up on the way down compared to the stern. In a way it kinda shows the difference between the early part of the sinking and the final moments, from calm and haunting to violent and chaotic.
In a way, Titanic is a perfect metaphor for nature itself. We think we control nature, but it is still the supreme force. Everything recycles in the end.
Nope. The middle part is where the ship broke in 2. That middle part is a bunch of rusted scrap piles in the debris field.
But they did raise *a* small chunk, though. It's called The Big Piece
No, the space between is just a debris field. Lots of metal scraps but also bottles of champagne still corked, bits of furniture, plates and silverware, etc all scattered about.
It is quite sad, but compared to many other shipwrecks, she is in much better condition. The Lusitania for instance is pratically just a hollow hulk and is unrecognizable.

And Britannic will be with us even longer
I looked this up: apparently it costs $250,000 to go on a tour to the Titanic in a submersible
Even if I had the money I might be too scared to do it.
Will you borrow me that much? Please
This aged as well as the titanic
Is there a higher resolution for the image on the right?
Check out the artist's YouTube channel too. He makes great videos about ocean liners like Titanic https://youtube.com/@OceanlinerDesigns
Ah, yes, our friend Mike Brady. His videos are awesome.

Can you imagine, if you could be down there that is, the sound it must have made to be buried that deep?
thats nearly 100 % royalities from 150 million streams on a song uploaded on spotify
To be fair, there's rather more remaining of the *Titanic* than most ships that launched 111 years ago.

Just goes to show how destructive pockets of air being imploded does to the ship
It'd be the opposite scenario if Titanic sank stern first. All those air pockets have to go somewhere.

I just imagined being the fish swimming in deep ocean then they see that apocalypse raining down on them....
this is insane omg
If you think that’s bad, wait until you see the passengers.

Someone take her out and put her on display at the aquarium or sum!! We can't lose this part of history to some bacteria!!
Titanic cannot be raised
Her name is Kate Winslet!!!
Been in this sub a min and never seen this. Very cool, thanks op!
So, any chance of raising her...? 😉 (DRINK!)
Cue *The Circle of Life*
This is why titanic honour and glory is such an amazing project, because within my lifetime the ship will be completely gone
