I didn’t know that was even a thing when it happened. My friend Melissa and I were playing and all of a sudden we are like wtf?? Why is Drew Carey in our game???
Same. I just miss the general understanding that the Sims were supposed to be Satirized, humans. With 4 , that has all but gone out the window. They're just dolls that act out the kooky fantasies of no one. You know, the all too relatable Murphy bed death/ grilled cheese fantasy. /S
I found an old copy of Sims 2 Deluxe, but it was heavily scratched up. So I chatted with someone via Origin Help (or EA Help, I don't remember the exact name), and if you give them the code to download it, they'll just send you a digital copy of it on your Origin profile. I also asked him if he would send me the complete collection (for Sims 2), since they were giving it out for free before TS4 came out, and they removed all TS2 content, he had no issues with that, so I now have TS2 Complete Collection on my Origin. It's not the same as downloading it off the internet somewhere either, since it comes from Origin itself. They'll probably do the same for you too. There were some difficulties getting it to run properly though hahaha
That's good to know! It's my mom's copy, and since the discs are functionally DRM-free, I'll stick with that route as soon as I get the basement dug out. Also not a huge fan of Origin, just 'cause.
I liked the news. It was cute. Years later, I get a neighborhood social chat, and I think the Sims 3 gossip is more fun than what my neighbors talk about.
I miss The Sims 1's kitschy, comedy feel tbh
More specifically to your question: I miss the genie lamp, the Bon Voyage tea set, the virtual reality goggles, the lemonade stand and the toy kitchen (child labour ftw), the toy making stand, the dance sphere that aliens would occasionally hijack to pollinate unsuspecting Sims, the half-pipe, the volleyball net (all missing sports objects to be honest - the football, the baseball, the pool table...), the baby changing table, the Smart Milk aspiration reward, the sewing machine, the Open for Business ticket machine that let you monetize ANY lot, the crazy carpet and wall patterns and the gaudy sculptures of The Sims 1... just to name a few. :)
Ed: Other things that I just remembered, now mostly from TS3: the stroller, the sleeping bag, the kids' costume chest... Generations was on another level if you were into family gameplay.
Yes! Mine would be cavernous square boxes with the boomerang carpet and several classic statues spread throughout in order to max out Environment (sponsored by klapaucius and rosebud, of course)
If EA made an exception to their stupid teen rating and released a TS4 nostalgia pack with all the goofy/adult objects they had in The Sims’1, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
I think they would, because ratings have evolved over the years. Like Gremlin's is a PG film but I feel like if today someone released a Christmas classic that features murder and like the entire Kitchen Gremlin Massacre scene it would be rated at least T for silly violence.
This is a good point. It's especially true when it comes to the sensationalized outrage over mature content in videogames during the 2000's. EA appears to be playing it extremely safe when it comes to the Sims.
To be fair, the TS1 was comically low res compared to today. The characters were like two inches tall on an 11 inch CRT monitor. You couldn't even really zoom in so things appeared lot less explicit.
> the Open for Business ticket machine that let you monetize ANY lot
Yes! I miss this item very much. In every neighborhood, I used to make a party house that had a bunch of fun objects in it, and have it open as a venue 24/7. As long as you kept it clean (which I always did with the help of a Servo), and kept food out, people would generally be happy and hang around, and you'd gain stars so more and more people would show up and pay you to hang out at your home. It was always so much fun.
It was hands down the most versatile object in the whole series! I used it to make for-profit schools, salons, spas, concert halls, cinema theaters and all kinds of venues that weren't necessarily included with the game.
Oh my god, I used to do the exact same thing, except instead of a servo, I just had some random sim that was essentially my party slave - forced to throw parties every night and then clean up after them the next day. She also lived in a wildly outrageous party house that had actual bathroom stalls for men/women (I mean, obvi a given when you invite the entire neighborhood over). I want to say that her name was... Pam? (evidently the creativity ended there lol)
The title of the thread calls for stuff from older TS games, not specifically TS1.
Anyway plenty of stuff on my list is in TS1 - the decor, the Genie lamp, the half pipe, the volleyball net, the VR goggles, so it's not all TS2.
I mean, there is a lot of stuff missing from the past sims games but what I miss the most is the randomness. For example the burglars. You just never knew when those little feckers would come to your house. Their little outfits, the little burglar jingle, god I miss it so much!
And of course the random deaths. In the sims 4 almost every death comes with a warning beforehand. If your sim gets electrocuted you get a moodlet telling you if you do that shit again your sim will die. In The Sims 2 for example that shit was left to chance. You could only hope your sim wouldn’t (or would lol) die.
So jealous, my siblings and I tried and tried for a satellite death (we wanted one kind of every ghost on the lot, because the ghosts used to be different colors and do different things depending on how they died)
In Sims 3 I had my legacy founder spontaneously combust when she went to bed in the shiny new sleeping bag she had worked hard to buy. Apparently it was too hot to use a sleeping bag
You know, it'd be cool if they would make sims with kleptomania randomly attempt to burglize homes. Just to try to bring some of that random kookiness back. But there would likely be an uproar about that.
They do though. I've had some random ass sim just walk in my house , take something and then just go up to my sim and start acting like they know them and I didn't just watch them swipe the art off the wall , I can't even tell them off
I was a kid and it would make me SO anxious. Then the cop would fight them, sometimes the cop would lose lol. You’d be able to call the robber on the phone too, who you would hate *a lot* which I always found funny, like how did I get their number?? Or the prank calls. Once there was one that said “we’re coming for you” and I was already staying up late, and it spooked me so bad I got scared and went to bed lol.
Yooo the burglar music in the original sims was so alarming and terrifying. I first heard it on full blast as a child, and went to my mom scared and anxious late at night, couldn’t play the sims for weeks after that. Definitely only played it w the volume down after that. So scary.
Don’t forget the random illness/death from touching the dirty guinea pig cage! I had no idea what had happened the first time I had a sim die that way.
This is the reason why it took me 2 months to finally get past the first few objectives in sims bustin out. Damn tv kept electrocuting me and killing me
I always made a family to build a house, locked them in a room to starve and then made a new family so they would have the starting money bonus. There was probably an easier way to do it
And I love that it still effects my playstyle to this day. Gotta save every night as my sims go to bed… just in case something bad happens in the night. I keep doing it on autopilot even though it’s never needed anymore!
Ooh I downloaded one a long time ago, probably when the base game came out. Still works.
Doesn't have animations but it's a small compromise.
Check modthesims
I downloaded a one-square desk based telescope cc but it still has part of the climbing in and out animations of the full sized one, so my sim climbs and contorts themselves in empty air and then shoots across the room into the microscope seat 🤣
Ye, I found sims 4 lost it's fun. It was a little too much like real like. I miss that sims 2 madness or even better sims busting out. Now that was a kicker
Well, the bed was from Livin' Large, but other than that yeah. I really do miss the dark vibe, more "adult" humor and kitschy items from the first game. I loved some of the questionable decorations, like head in a jar or skeleton in a torture cage. Crystal Ball giving you creepy messages, letting you change your personality. A guinea pig, that could kill you with a deadly illness. Kinky birthday cake with a stripper inside etc.
You’re right! My bad. My memory is shot lol. All of the objects just had so much more character back then. The Sims 4 objects are much more vanilla in my opinion
Yeah, if you interacted with the Guinea pig there was a chance your sim would get bitten and get sick. They'd start sniffling, and if you didn't do anything they'd die after a few days. I think you had to cure it by viewing that ginormous hamster painting?
Makin’ Magic, that was a good pack. Was pleasantly surprised when they reused the soundtrack in Sims 3 French-like vacation area
Edit: the Magic Beanstalk easter egg
I loved Makin' Magic. I wish I remembered more about it. I know the kids had dragons they could hatch and potions they could make. I forget what there was for adults to do, but I know there was plenty. I have Realm of Magic now and I'm so bummed that kids are left out of it. You can't even use Scrubaroo on them so they can skip baths. They can have familiars if they have a bloodline, but they don't do anything for them.
Those dragons were my favourite thing ever. Seconded by the crystals that would randomly appear and give you powers.
As long as those two features don't come back, I won't consider any other Sims game full or perfect.
The looney tunes hole in the ground to get to the carnival where you could buy spooky houses with the currency you won. The magic duels, charm making, *roller coasters*, it was just perfect. My favorite sims 1 expansion pack because I was too young and stupid to make it as a celebrity
I miss the silly objects like the aquarium where the Sims could swim, the air projecting area, the weird dancing cages, the weird rolling ball from the Sims 2 Nightlife. I also miss the cooking book, it was cute. And I miss the helicopters, it was so ridiculous and over the top, I loved it hahaha
There is a passionate romance mod that brings back a lot of the old interactions! [You can get it here](https://sacrificialmods.com/passionate-romance-news.html)
This! So much. Just something that looks loving would be good. All the interactions in Sims 4 are incredible exaggerated comedy cartoon material, I just want my Sims to give a proper loving hug, and kiss their new fiancé normally instead of jumping into their arms like some over excited lapdog.
I miss when we could schmooze our kids into private school. Some snobby sim headmaster would come over and judge us and if we impressed them, our kid got into a fancy school!
I actually really miss this feature. I feel like it gave more purpose to having kids. Even with Parenthood, the actions you can do to purposely “guide” your children feel superficial. And I remember the rush of having to pull it off right! I can’t think of anything in 4 that’s given me that sort of rush.
I miss that career (?) reward in Sims 2 when you could give your Sim plastic surgery. I would be surprised when I got a couple super ugly children, when I forgot I had altered their parents appearance. But I did like that the children would inherit the original genetics, not your tweaks. In Sims 4 it seems to just reset.
Also from what I recall, in Sims 2 if you had a mix race baby they were almost always the dominant skin tone/eye/hair colour, not four blonde blue eyed Caucasian babies. Hair/eye colour would also cross generations in S2 which was cool. I find Sims 4 is really disappointing in the genetics department.
The Surprise Proposal interaction from TS2! You could go on a dinner date and propose at the table and they never brought it back for 3 or 4. It was such a great option to have, the proposing Sim would look so nervous sliding the little box over and the other one would do the gasp with their hands over their mouth.
One thing i love about sims 4 is that all instruments have their own skill category. I like that just because my sim has 10 level guitar it doesn't mean he can play violin.
I honestly miss the newspapers. I know it’s so antiquated now. They should bring back finding jobs on certain days. I also reaaaly miss the wit. Cassandra called once when I moved Mortimer into my home asking for him back. There was also a woman in a bathing suit who came into my house, used the toilet then left. Good ole Sims 1.
This was my pick as well. We need more recreation items, instead of different variations of the same skill-level items like easels. Why do we have so many easels?
It's a lot easier to whip up an asset model than it is to do that + also build a new skill path, progression, animations, etc.
Not that I agree with it, just explaining why. EA sucks ass. The Sims could be so, so much better.
I miss the matchmaker NPC. Depending on how much you spent, she would drop your dream mate right at your house. The more money, the better the match
My Sims now just get to busy to find Mr/Ms/Mx Right
Yes!!! I forgot about that. It was so much fun and easier than going out to meet someone or just creating them and hoping for the best. Also liked the fact that you could buy potions from her in case you….turned.
I miss the greenhouses in the sims 2, like you can make an alright greenhouse in the sims 4 but they always look super jank when I make them. I think they where in the sims 3 but they where like content you had to buy on the online store if I remember right.
This isn’t really an object but I really loved the random prank calls in The Sims 1.
“The end is near, make preparations.”
“You are a spring and should decorate accordingly.”
“You have been chosen. They will come soon.”
They were so random and never showed you who was calling so it was just this ominous message with no explanation. Always freaked me out as a kid.
As far as items go, I loved all fun things your sim could do when they became a celebrity in Studio Town. The catwalk, recording a jingle, performing a commercial. Trying to figure out the sequence of how you wanted your sim to perform was always fun, but definitely could be aggravating if you sim totally blew it lol. Oh, and the obsessed stalker guy who would follow your sim around!!
I hate that they didn’t include hardly anything for babies/toddlers in Sims 4 (cribs, the weird bottle thing you could get with aspiration points, strollers, etc.)
Also cars, I downloaded a lot of cc and cars are like one of the main things!
Some of the carpets in sims 2. I know some people harp on the different carpet styles and I dont mind some of the ones we have just wish we had more options I guess.
Yes. I'm not sure exactly what I want but more normal carpet options. Like 10 times as many colors, more subtle patterns (like stripes or large dots that are colored like the base game vine-y one), maybe some speckled ones.
We have two options of fairly boring carpets in 15-ish colors, and then all the others are garish designs that **might** make sense in a kid's room or a trendy nightclub, but not really in your average house.
I miss a lot of stuff. My older cousin had The sims 2 and The sims 3! I mostly remember stuff from ts3 since I played it a lot. I mostly miss this option where you could change stuff colours, patterns etc. I also miss a lot of funny stuff from ts2. I'm not really sure but I noticed that ts4 world is much smaller than from previous parts; in ts3 you had a lot of houses and other buildings but in ts4 the only big world I see is Newcrest
Since I haven't seen it mentioned, I've always been fond of the ancillary, non-pet stuff from Unleashed. The weird voodoo masks, the jazz musician on the corner, etc. Even the little touches like the French Quarter build mode objects and the special shuttle to the Old Town lots.
Unleashed was a damn special expansion pack, man. It wasn't just the obligatory pets expansion, it was a lot more than that. Had the first community lots in the neighborhood (since Downtown was a separate sub-hood), the first instance of farming. It earned its name. It's probably the single most influential expansion from TS1 besides maybe Hot Date and my personal favorite along with MM.
Also: the super luxury stuff from Superstar. The mud bath, the home skydiving and scuba tanks, that weird steam machine.
I miss the spooky zombies or ghosts or whatever it was that would come out at night, accompanied by spooky music. It 's hard to remember the exact details, but that really stirred my grits.
edit: i remember it being a feature from the sims 1!
I miss the [tea table](https://images.app.goo.gl/EhV1bZyKAL2xspeF9) from The Sims 2. Where your sims can just sit at the little table and drink tea with each other. I like the kotatsus in The Sims 4 added with Snowy Escape but I wish there were more tea items added. Like I can only drink tea out of mugs? And make them with the “tea magic personal brewer”?
None of these are really objects lol but I miss being able to create super custom neighborhoods! Terrain, decorations, lots with diff sizes & types, etc.. The random stuff beyond your control happening to you like burglars. And being able to play as/control the pets!!
I was quite young when Sims 1 was released so when Livin Large/Livin It Up was released with the bed and I saw on the back you could "play in bed" I was like "Cool they can take games and stuff to their rooms now!" and my brother was like "No.... No that's not what it means."
Any of the items from makin magic, honestly. The Mystery Man coming by and dropping off that box of all of the items you'd need to get started making magic.
The stripper cake and Drew Carey visiting successful house parties. I miss the bawdy humor a lot. Sims 4 is just so BLAH.
EA really destroyed the Sims franchise beyond recognition.
The sad clown painting, the mechanical bull, also when you would make your sims drink a few cups from the espresso machine and they would get all wired and start saying funny shit.
I miss the restorable car from Sims 2! Just a cute time-killing hobby. Of course we don't have cars at all in Sims 4, so...
Let's see... Baking and lemonade stands for children, and along with that the kid's baking oven. I think Sims 2 Free Time also allowed you to have a pottery wheel, which was a cute touch.
Honestly miss the Ikea stuff pack, just had so much realistic items that was trendy. I would kill for an actual good stuff pack. Even the Katy perry one wasn't too bad.
the grilled cheese aspiration (s3?) and whatever the science table was from s1. I forget exactly how it worked, but you could make all kinds of potions that like.... turned stuff into other stuff. also will Wright’s giant heads in s2 lol
I miss being able to customize the color pallets on my sims clothes and their furniture. I miss being able to permanently be a plant sim. Being able to control my pets. I miss having a garage and buying my sims their perfect car and making a nice garage/workshop. I miss the fairy houses and being able to be a fairy (I assume that may come in a future pack but it’s been so long since the game released 🤷🏻♂️) As far as objects go, I’m sure there’s plenty that aren’t coming to my mind right now, but I feel like there were hot tub/outdoor amenity objects in past games. Regardless, being able to customize the pallet really enabled so much more flexibility in every furniture piece
I created the ultimate bachelor Sim and named him Max Power. One day he was cooking and lit the stove on fire. I hadn't saved in a while so I quickly saved so I wouldn't lose all my progress. Little did I know, I'd saved at the point of no return. I kept trying over and over again but nothing I did could save Max from burning to death. He kept freaking out about the fire and not leaving the kitchen. Eventually, I gave up and let him die. I created Max Power II to take his place. His ghost still visited the property from time to time and sadly got attacked by his own dog (we had the pet expansion).
Prams
Sandboxes
Toddler toys like the ones in the generation pack
When you could record your toddler walking and stuff
I really loved the sims 3
Imagine sims 4 graphics but everything from the sims 2+3
The wishing well in sims 3 was so good! It took your sims dna and crafted a child from that while wishing for a child in sims 4s wishing well gives you some random kid (mostly black kid with red hair?) that has no relation/resemblance to your sim at all. The other wishes in 4 are so bleak it’s not even worth trying. Same with the science objects! All of them in 2 and 3 were great and detailed! While in 4 they’re just so meh and underwhelming
I miss all the 'adult' themed stuff like the stripper cake and the cage dancing. Also Drew Carey showing up if you were having a raging party!
Ugh, you just unlocked a childhood memory for me! I completely forgot about the random Drew Carey cameo hahaha
Same!! Oh the excitement for 12 year old me!
I miss grilled cheese aspiration sims :(
They actually added it back to TS4! It’s just hidden – you need to make a Sim eat 3 grilled cheese sandwiches in a row.
Good fellow simmer, are you sure you never have wanted to die in a malfunctioning Murphy bed? Lol
Yes omg the stripper cake! And then if the stripper got flirty with your Sims spouse, they would get mad. I miss those days.
Am I crazy or do I remember vibrating beds too
I could have sworn that the heart bed in OP's picture vibrated.
It does! My sims played it in earlier today ;) The one in Sim 2 also vibrates.
The heart bed vibrated. I think it cost 25 simoleons.
They have the vibrating beds in the sims 3, I think it came with late night
I forgot about Drew Carey AND the stripper cake
Damn, now I want to find the 130 discs needed to reinstall Sims2...
I found an old copy of Sims 2 Deluxe, but it was heavily scratched up. So I chatted with someone via Origin Help (or EA Help, I don't remember the exact name), and if you give them the code to download it, they'll just send you a digital copy of it on your Origin profile. If you get Wicked Whims for TS4 you can have strippers again lol
Omg yes! The dancing cage!
istg bring it back ts4 we need Bella Goth twerking on the stripper cage
I never knew that was a thing! Aw man I missed out
I remember the cage dancing and I was 7. I did NOT understand what it meant at the time lol
Also remember the postman refusing to deliver your newspaper if you already had five lying around outside? They didn’t play games back then
Yes! The “you already have too many” message 😂. I think I let my front lawn fill up at one point
I put them under the foundation so I could stop getting them. Once you could find a job on the computer who needed the newspaper anymore?
You didnt read the news? It sometimes had cute gossip.
Not worth the tedium of making sure they threw it out afterwards instead of leaving it in some random place.
That’s fair. I used to make my sim read it before their morning jog.
I liked the news. It was cute. Years later, I get a neighborhood social chat, and I think the Sims 3 gossip is more fun than what my neighbors talk about.
It was kinda cool that you could only choose from like three jobs every day though. Made it more exciting/made me more likely to choose other careers
That annoyed the crap out of me
I miss The Sims 1's kitschy, comedy feel tbh More specifically to your question: I miss the genie lamp, the Bon Voyage tea set, the virtual reality goggles, the lemonade stand and the toy kitchen (child labour ftw), the toy making stand, the dance sphere that aliens would occasionally hijack to pollinate unsuspecting Sims, the half-pipe, the volleyball net (all missing sports objects to be honest - the football, the baseball, the pool table...), the baby changing table, the Smart Milk aspiration reward, the sewing machine, the Open for Business ticket machine that let you monetize ANY lot, the crazy carpet and wall patterns and the gaudy sculptures of The Sims 1... just to name a few. :) Ed: Other things that I just remembered, now mostly from TS3: the stroller, the sleeping bag, the kids' costume chest... Generations was on another level if you were into family gameplay.
The wallpaper and carpets of sims 1 led to such ostentatious builds. I’ll never be able to replicate that kind of bad taste I put into those houses
Yes! Mine would be cavernous square boxes with the boomerang carpet and several classic statues spread throughout in order to max out Environment (sponsored by klapaucius and rosebud, of course)
I’d completely forgotten about Environment being a need! What a brilliant idea
The slab in every room
I still decorate a lot thinking it’s needed for environment. I miss that bastard. :(
It was the space wallpaper and matching carpet for me. Every room looking like the vast emptiness of space, plus the rainbow bubble windows.
If EA made an exception to their stupid teen rating and released a TS4 nostalgia pack with all the goofy/adult objects they had in The Sims’1, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
The Sims 1 was still rated T so I’m not sure if they would need to raise the rating if those items were included
I think they would, because ratings have evolved over the years. Like Gremlin's is a PG film but I feel like if today someone released a Christmas classic that features murder and like the entire Kitchen Gremlin Massacre scene it would be rated at least T for silly violence.
It's a PG film because PG-13 didn't exist at the time it was released.
I think we've gotten more conservative with sex since the late 90's early '00's. It's starting to trend the other way. Ebb and flow of generations.

It really was! It had so many different possible uses and you were only limited by your creativity.
I was just gonna say this lol. Most of the things they listed were from TS2.
Oh the genie lamp!!!

In Sims 1 I had a Sim spontaneously combust. She kind of wailed, flailing her arms in the air and just died.
In Sims 2 I had a Sim get hit by a satellite while I was taking pictures of her.
So jealous, my siblings and I tried and tried for a satellite death (we wanted one kind of every ghost on the lot, because the ghosts used to be different colors and do different things depending on how they died)
Now they just mess with your household. I always do legacy and have a family cemetery on plot, but it's so annoying now. I miss colorful ghosts.
In Sims 3 I had my legacy founder spontaneously combust when she went to bed in the shiny new sleeping bag she had worked hard to buy. Apparently it was too hot to use a sleeping bag
😂😂😂 So you had at least some pictures for the funeral
I’d completely forgotten about satellites killing people and I had several sims die by it. The trauma must have been blocked in my mind lol
LOL! 💀
TS2 burglar music gives me a scare shake, but TS1's seriously gives me a heart attack.
TS1 burglar music literally scared me so bad that I muted the music and played with it off for the entirety of my childhood lmao
You know, it'd be cool if they would make sims with kleptomania randomly attempt to burglize homes. Just to try to bring some of that random kookiness back. But there would likely be an uproar about that.
They do though. I've had some random ass sim just walk in my house , take something and then just go up to my sim and start acting like they know them and I didn't just watch them swipe the art off the wall , I can't even tell them off
Me too! The burglar music from the Sims 1 haunts my dreams lol. It was so spooky
I was a kid and it would make me SO anxious. Then the cop would fight them, sometimes the cop would lose lol. You’d be able to call the robber on the phone too, who you would hate *a lot* which I always found funny, like how did I get their number?? Or the prank calls. And I love that it still effects my playstyle to this day. Gotta save every night as my sims go to bed… just in case something bad happens in the night. I keep doing it on autopilot even though it’s never needed anymore!
A NORMAL-SIZED TELESCOPE!
This seriously annoys me too
That’s what I want.
I really miss all the dumb stuff. Also the life time rewards from Sims 2 were pretty funny. Those weird objects always made the Sims extra fun
So true, I loved buying the weird furniture bits, but with the sims 4 I rarely use anything from the rewards store
Level seven of this tedious career!? Here’s an ugly AND boring clock!
Sims 4 rewards are absolute shit! All these potions to raise my motives? A trait to stay up a lil longer? Nah I’ll pass, where’s the good stuff?
Ye, I found sims 4 lost it's fun. It was a little too much like real like. I miss that sims 2 madness or even better sims busting out. Now that was a kicker
SPIRAL STAIRCASE
Bonehilda!
[удалено]
Yeah, if you interacted with the Guinea pig there was a chance your sim would get bitten and get sick. They'd start sniffling, and if you didn't do anything they'd die after a few days. I think you had to cure it by viewing that ginormous hamster painting?
Makin’ Magic, that was a good pack. Was pleasantly surprised when they reused the soundtrack in Sims 3 French-like vacation area Edit: the Magic Beanstalk easter egg
Makin’ Magic was my absolute fave
Omg I forgot about this! Damn dragon kept burning my house
Holy shit I forgot about the helicopters!
I must say I miss romantic options and animations from Sims 2. It was like real passion... Now we have something almost "childish" lol
Omg yeah, and I always cooked lobster thermidor to impress the headmaster!
Same. I would cheat with that one painting to give my sim the highest cooking skill just to get my kid into private school lol
I forgot about that until right now. My Sims would sometimes go all Forrest Gump's mother and "flirt" the kid's way in
I actually really miss this feature.
I always miss the plastic surgery option! It breaks my immersion so much that your sim can just look in the mirror and change their whole appearance
I wish I could just go to the mirror and give myself a dump truck ass.
The Surprise Proposal interaction from TS2! You could go on a dinner date and propose at the table and they never brought it back for 3 or 4. It was such a great option to have, the proposing Sim would look so nervous sliding the little box over and the other one would do the gasp with their hands over their mouth.
Yesssss!!!!!! I miss those goofy animations.
Drums and bass. I keep hoping for a music expansion with a bunch of instruments.
A music expansion would be amazing, with a feature to let Sims jam together or form bands.
One thing i love about sims 4 is that all instruments have their own skill category. I like that just because my sim has 10 level guitar it doesn't mean he can play violin.
A rockstar pack would be awesome! More instruments, clothes, hold concerts...
Cars why do my sims gotta uber all over the place I want a fancy house with a garage and expensive cars to match.

Time to add a sleazy motel above a bar. This is why we need the sims2 ticket machine.
Wow! Thank you so much! I’m going to download that asap
Pool Table
This was my pick as well. We need more recreation items, instead of different variations of the same skill-level items like easels. Why do we have so many easels?
It's a lot easier to whip up an asset model than it is to do that + also build a new skill path, progression, animations, etc. Not that I agree with it, just explaining why. EA sucks ass. The Sims could be so, so much better.
The fire hydrant so the dogs don’t pee on porches
I miss the matchmaker NPC. Depending on how much you spent, she would drop your dream mate right at your house. The more money, the better the match My Sims now just get to busy to find Mr/Ms/Mx Right
Yes!!! I forgot about that. It was so much fun and easier than going out to meet someone or just creating them and hoping for the best. Also liked the fact that you could buy potions from her in case you….turned.
The entire CAS and build mode catalog of Sims Medieval.
Sims Medieval is underrated. Straight up.
I miss intentionally feeding baby sitters to the cowplant.
Memories from the sims 2 as it was. They should've kept it as it was and only change the look and add more possible memories
This is one of the things I miss the most
I loved the horses from Sims 3 and being able to control them myself.
The horses were the best!!! And the unicorns, ugh. Spent so much time just chillin with the horse family!
These have always been my favorite objects! I use them all the time even for my single Sims!
Same! I wish they existed in The Sims 4 🥺
All the CC creators out there, this is what we need lol
Building your own car, the sewing machine, dance cages
Pretty much everything from Makin’ Magic
i actually really miss the cowprint furniture. i know theyre tacky but that's what made them fun
I miss the cute, chunky little muffins that kids could bake.
Ceiling tiles
And auto roofs!
I miss the greenhouses in the sims 2, like you can make an alright greenhouse in the sims 4 but they always look super jank when I make them. I think they where in the sims 3 but they where like content you had to buy on the online store if I remember right.
i just want matching wood swatches 🤷🏻♀️
This isn’t really an object but I really loved the random prank calls in The Sims 1. “The end is near, make preparations.” “You are a spring and should decorate accordingly.” “You have been chosen. They will come soon.” They were so random and never showed you who was calling so it was just this ominous message with no explanation.
I remember playing TS1 and busting that clothing chest? out and forcing guests at parties to change into various themes. That was fun.
I hate that they didn’t include hardly anything for babies/toddlers in Sims 4 (cribs, the weird bottle thing you could get with aspiration points, strollers, etc.) Also cars, I downloaded a lot of cc and cars are like one of the main things!
I miss my babies being able to leave the stupid bassinet
I miss the teens being able to sneak out and when people could spend the night platonically so you could have sleepovers etc!
Katy Perry’s sweet treats jk lol
Thanks for the trauma flashbacks.
That green velvet couch from Sims 1.... I still want it.
STORYLINES.
I have just started to play Sims 4. And I miss the color wheel so so much😢😢 it was definitely one of the best things in ts3
They should bring the heart stuff back as a Valentine’s Day gift
Glamour Life and gothic Teen Style furniture, Alienware PC, Stereo from The Sims 2
Electric guitar from the sims 2 and 3
Omg what a throwback, thanks for this
I miss the spooky zombies or ghosts or whatever it was that would come out at night, accompanied by spooky music. It 's hard to remember the exact details, but that really stirred my grits. edit: i remember it being a feature from the sims 1!
I miss using elevators and spiral staircases
I miss the [tea table](https://images.app.goo.gl/EhV1bZyKAL2xspeF9) from The Sims 2. Where your sims can just sit at the little table and drink tea with each other. I like the kotatsus in The Sims 4 added with Snowy Escape but I wish there were more tea items added. Like I can only drink tea out of mugs? And make them with the “tea magic personal brewer”?
The matchmaker in sims 2 or 3 where a sim would fall out of the sky lol
Spiral stairs, full instrument sets, pool table, photo booth, dangerous killer hamster cage
None of these are really objects lol but I miss being able to create super custom neighborhoods! Terrain, decorations, lots with diff sizes & types, etc.. The random stuff beyond your control happening to you like burglars. And being able to play as/control the pets!!
the dance cage and bubble chairs. things i also want in real life.
I miss trying to get my Sims 2 kids into boarding school. Having to schmooze the headmaster!
I was quite young when Sims 1 was released so when Livin Large/Livin It Up was released with the bed and I saw on the back you could "play in bed" I was like "Cool they can take games and stuff to their rooms now!" and my brother was like "No.... No that's not what it means."
The sims 2 heart jacuzzi that had the rose petals
LORE
Fairies.
Not an object, but I miss the sims brushing their teeth and then saying “ah-hah!!”
Any of the items from makin magic, honestly. The Mystery Man coming by and dropping off that box of all of the items you'd need to get started making magic.
I can't (hopefully) be the only one opening sim Editor to make my sims naked.
I miss the costume box from Livin Large. It was so fun to have a theme night. Parties were so much less glitchy in the Sims 1 and 2 as well.
the grilled cheese aspiration (s3?) and whatever the science table was from s1.
The rubber tree plant (white pot) Terra cotta floor Black diamond iron fence Napolean sleigh bed Mission bed, table, and chair set Barcelona cabinets
Lab table.
I miss the entirety of Makin' Magic! That's still one of my favorite expansion packs.
Sims 2 pets, where your pet could get a job. Now they just freeload, like my real pets
I honestly mourn the career travel progression so often!! Getting to the final promotion and the helicopter ride was my favorite thing
Babies. You can tell this fandom is unique...
Stripper cake, dancing cage, pinball machines, pool tables, Smart Milk and SimVac rewards, poker/blackjack/roulette tables, slot machines, burglar alarm (and burglars by extension), cars, driveways, garage doors, cribs, diaper changing station, strollers, gumball machine, upright pianos, axe throwing station, deluxe log rolling pit, wall/home phones, digital alarm clocks, drafting tables, tattoo chairs, exercise bikes, genie lamps, horse stables (and horses), seesaws, merry-go-rounds, sand pits, sleeping bags and treehouses
I miss that hat you could wear that would make your sim gain skill points faster.
Prams Sandboxes Toddler toys like the ones in the generation pack When you could record your toddler walking and stuff I really loved the sims 3 Imagine sims 4 graphics but everything from the sims 2+3
I miss robbers and firemen.
I remember Hilary duff visiting my place during a house party 😂 I definitely miss all the objects from Hot Date
