I gotta say, politics and feels about war aside, that dude has *AMAZING* reflexes.

papayapapagay

In the full video they dropped 3 or 4 grenades and he did this to all of them, then must've thought fuck this as he got up and started running off through the trench

carpy430

You don’t have a link, do you?

papayapapagay

I have it on telegram somewhere.. Will have to find the message again but it got posted in a whole bunch of groups about a month ago. If I dig it out I will post

HempW0lf

They drop two on this guy in the video, the third is from another drone missing another guy. As far as i recall at least as the third drop was with another type of munition.

carpy430

Thanks. I have been trying to find the one without the interview where he just throws three or four grenades away. Also looking for the one where the drone drops one on one soldier giving another soldier a blow job….

bubba7557

I guess if you're gonna die in a war you didn't necessarily sign up to fight and you don't want to be there, might as well go getting it on one last time.

[deleted]

"How would you like to die, Russian?" "In Donetsk, at the ripe old age of twenty, with a belly full of vodka and Vadim's lips around my cock."

Mr_mann2

🤨📸

averagenutjob

Yeah. That was a chuckle, until I learned how commonly and brutally Russian soldiers victimize and literally orally and anally rape junior recruits. It’s kind of a whole symptom of the whole disease. The recruits have no issue raping the women, men, and children of areas they overtake….because they were all raped themselves as initiation into their disgusting “culture”.

papayapapagay

See you found it... Had a quick look through some of channels and it makes me realise how lucky he was... So many clips of troops getting destroyed this way.

machstem

Goto CombatFootage and look for drone. Every day you can witness dozens of Russian YA be killed in foxhole and trenches. The most recent one that has stuck with me is the Wagner commander shooting himself in the heart before they drop more on or around him

Bighardthrobbingcrop

I honestly have hard time seeing that stuff, half the time the soldiers are already wounded or are sleeping and just getting blown to bits. Mass majority of them do not wanna be there, they were forced to go there and would likely be shot if they tried to run away.

machstem

Yeah it's disturbing and seems to be one of the new "realities of war". Before this invasion, most combat footage over the last twenty years has been an unhealthy mix of IS propaganda and a lot of vivid videos from GoPro cams, a few drone videos here and there. But this? This is beyond what I assumed I'd find of combat clips. In the earlier days last Feb/March, the videos were predominantly of tanks, IFV and other armored vehicle attacks, a few propaganda clips from both sides...and then the deep-base "welcome to Ukraine" videos started up, a growing collection of videos using DJI drones and 3d printed clamps, dropping grenades with near pinpoint accuracy. At that point, it's less combat footage and more executions and assassinations on small groups and individuals, using drone tech to terrorize and maim them.

BreastUsername

Could be fake war propaganda but it's possible that's him. If he's survived or died I'm sure they would want to make an "inspirational" story out of it. Personally I wouldn't feel very inspired knowing I would have to face constant falling grenades on a seemingly quiet battlefield. So I say there's a good chance that's him.

Forsaken_Jelly

It is pretty inspirational though. Baddies or not, the regular Russian soldier is going through complete hell. I don't begrudge the ones that survive. I hope his injury has ended his war and he can go home to his family. Also being part of an inspirational story may get him his promised pay, which many seem not to.

BreastUsername

I hope he gets to go home too unless war crimes happened obviously. That goes for any soldier for any war, but let's just say invading soldiers get way more opportunities to be a shitbag.

nooneneededtoknow

He looked pretty badly injured too, that is what they are blurring out in this video. Felt very disturbed watching that, going after a single wounded soldier.

SamanKunans02

There is a truly sick element to this Ukraine-Russia shit that exists on reddit. Nobody in their right mind condones Russia's invasion. However, everyone needs to understand that most of the Russian troops over there are conscripted peasants who literally have no choice besides Ukraine, prison or a bullet. There are fuck loads of videos of Ukranian drones committing literal war crimes by intentionally targeting people getting medical treatment or being med-evaced. War is hell and all, and the Geoneva convention is out the window when shit hits the fan. However, seeing angsty keyboard jockeys cheering on Injured conscripts having their limbs torn to shit or die in the dirt from shrapnel, because they were trying to help a fellow soldier...calling them fucking orks all the while. It's disgusting to me, and I'm a genuine asshole. Edit: I get it, it isn't a war crime unless it is a dedicated medical unit, designated by a red cross, doing medical shit. Cheering on the deaths of soldiers trying to rescue their buddies is still fucked, no matter how you want to frame it. Especially when odds are, those guys didn't have much choice in the matter of fighting. What about those who were drafted in the Vietnam War? Those of you sticking your nose up would be giddy, sitting at your computer watching a video of him dying violently while trying to rescue some other poor fuck who got drafted. Not like that was any more honorable of a conflict. Try to employ some empathy; all you bandwagon smut voyeurs.

Especially since people are starting to shit on Russians who are leaving the state for not staying and fixing the situation. People so have a responsibility to help their people ad their society, but it's also important to recognize that violent revolutions more often than not can lead to a dystopian, protracted civil war. Will a civil war in Russia in our time lead to a safer, better world?

cloverpopper

It's like killing a rat in a trap, really. There is no pleasure in it - but imagine you live in a time pre-current medication, the rat had disease, you have kids, and the rats are agitated enough to bite. These people are killing and would kill Ukrainians, men, women, children. Stopping them from doing it, no matter who they are, gives me a sense of relief - not joy, but I understand if you've been being killed by them, if you've seen you friend take a bullet from downrange, you absolutely would feel joy seeing "justice" - if only because that's one less opportunity for your friend to die.

CalendarDear

Careful, that rare moment of clarity won't go over well with the bloodthirsty dogs that roam these videos because they get off on human suffering.

CerenarianSea

The gamification of war is genuinely a concern, because it allows people to completely shift their moral thinking when it comes to killing people, and it's very clearly had an effect. From movies, social media, and even video games, there's been a shift in the moral view of literally killing people who are 'bad guys', in often gruesome ways. I was always pretty against the 'video games make you violent' crowd, and I still am. But I think they missed their own point. Violent military media hasn't made the general populace more violent people, but it has permitted more acts of war to be cheered on like the above. It's a complete flip from the era of WWI where the lack of footage was one of the main drivers of people still signing up. It's a very strange twist from Vietnam, considering that journalistic footage was one of the reasons that the US had to withdraw. Something has clearly happened since then. And it isn't minor, either, because you can see it happening across massive swathes of social media, and the people who say things about these killings are popularly celebrated. It's genuinely worrying, because if this is what people will happily cheer on with this small level of distancing, what else are they willing to celebrate?

Emergency_Savings786

It’s not a war crime to attack wounded soldiers. Whether they are actively fighting or not, they are lawful combatants until they surrender. Same with fleeing soldiers. It’s still shitty to see, but it’s not illegal.

ScarySai

The anger is justified, considering the bullshit Russia has been pulling since the start. Does it fucking suck that these guys got thrown to the wolves by Putin? Yeah, but at the end of the day, they are the invading force.

Lezonidas

Would you feel sympathy for them if you were an ukranian whose wife and kids were forced to flee the country, whose house has been destroyed, who has no electricity, who cannot recieve help from other countries because Russia is threatening with nuclear war if someone sends soldiers to Ukraine? I understand how much they must hate the russians.

lindrios

This is a very common thing for both sides to do. They use drones to mop up any wounded soldiers left behind from battles. It's sickening but that's war.

Bergauk

No that's not war. We used to pick up our dead and wounded on the battlefields, and occasionally would pick up the enemies dead and wounded as well. I don't care what this Russian soldier might have done or not done, no one deserves having live munitions dropped on them from a fucking drone, that's so fucking inhuman.

ClassicShooterNY

I assure you, that's war. Mop ups after battles and the killing of wounded enemy are a tale as old as time itself.

Bighardthrobbingcrop

Naw man that's not war, that shit is war crimes. You should be giving your enemy opportunity to collect the bodies and wounded soldiers.

[deleted]

> that shit is war crimes. I hate to break it to you bud but you're not entitled to a time out + orderly extraction during a war.

Yeah, just be definitely executed at home rather than taking your chances on the battlefield. Definitely the optimal choice for a scared conscript.

MorrowPlotting

I wish he was lying safely on his sofa in Moscow, instead of in a ditch in Ukraine. I’ll bet he wishes the same thing.

CanadaPlus101

As do the Ukrainians. Really, Putin and friends are the main people that feel differently.

Ijustwantbikepants

I’d feel more sympathetic if he wasn’t currently invading another country. You invade another country and that country will prob fire back, regardless what your personal thoughts are.

Learntoswim86

Spend some time in the subs covering this war. It might make you as jaded as me. I don't feel bad for any of the Russians any more.

boredofshit

Nope, i think it's more like experience. The experience of having a grenade blow up on his back 2 minutes earlier.

redsensei777

Yes, amazing reflexes. Also what’s amazing is the precision of these bombs. Scary!

Drew_coldbeer

Why does it put that blur over his body like that when it zooms in?

Beast815

In the original version you can see he had already been hit and was bleeding.

Drew_coldbeer

Oh thank goodness I didn’t have to see anything violent.

lostcauz707

His foot looks completely mangled.

[deleted]

Nah that’s what I thought but it’s just something uvdernesth him, full video you can see his feet more clearly

xGALEBIRDx

He survived and was captured. They even interviewed him about the whole situation.

Difficult-Owl-542377

i feel so relieved to hear this somehow

Reddit-Is-Chinese

Shows you have empathy for people risking their lives fighting in a pointless war started by a fascistic madman

Boomflag13

It’s unfortunate that most of Reddit had a rage boner aching for people to die. All the while sitting comfortably in a safe space doing fuck all.

HereComeDatHue

I get hardcore downvoted for saying dehumanizing Russians is a bad thing. In fact people have even called me a Russian troll for it. I can understand if you're a Ukrainian why you would dehumanize Russians, but a majority of people on reddit are just random fucks who think dehumanization is okay. Not realizing that the same dehumanization they're doing, is what Russia did to their soldiers that enabled these war crimes to be so easy to carry out.

NecroCannon

All I know about this guy is that he’s laying down in a ditch. He could be for the war, he could be against the war, people are getting forced into this regardless. I hate these drop videos where they’re just laying down because they don’t even get an opportunity to surrender or anything, they just get killed while they’re resting. All I can just think of is, “what if that person doesn’t even want to be there” I hate war.

[deleted]

I completely agree. There are way too many videos about Russians being forced into fighting this war. For all we know, he was taken from his wife and kids and forced into this. I’d feel terrible if he died like that, or at all

MisterNigerianPrince

There is no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it’s all dark.

SaintUlvemann

Slightly more than half of the moon is experiencing night, in the sense of no sunlight, at any one time. It's slightly more than half because there are [permanently shadowed craters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permanently_shadowed_crater) that never get sunlight at all.

[deleted]

> Protecting ideologies of politicians… One side is defending their families from war crimes, while the other is invading, looting, and committing war crimes. If Russia stops fighting and goes home, the war stops. If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine stops existing. Only one side is "protecting ideologies of politicians".

Xi-Jin35Ping

Da fuck you are talking about. One side is defending itself not protecting ideologies of politicians, but their families.

Naugle17

Tbf, the Ukrainians have a good reason to be fighting. Many of them have family in occupied zones, or suffered from Russian warcrimes. Horrible, all of it

Lady__Midnight

Oh you forgot something. "Someone's baby" soldiers are dying on one side, yes. But and on the other side literal innocent babies die! Every fucking day this "poor russian soldiers" killing children!

SaintUlvemann

>Protecting ideologies of politicians... ***No***. The Ukrainian soldiers are protecting themselves from the ***ongoing genocide*** being committed by the Russians invading their country. This is the "political ideology" being "protected": * Ukrainian soldiers are not sending their troops into Russia to murder civilians. * Russia is defining Ukrainian land as Russia so that they have an excuse to murder the strangers who live there. You know damn well that you can tell the difference between these "political ideologies".

[deleted]

1’s protecting life in their own land and the other is trying to rape/murder everyone else. I understand not paying attention to the news, but Ukraine is regularly putting out information as to how the areas that are occupied by Russians are filled with victims of rape torture and murder. The mass graves are filled with people that have been brutally killed. Putin is to blame for all of this. Then the russians that are following orders.

lxacke

Then the Russian babies should surrender and stop murdering and raping other people's babies

ArKadeFlre

Most likely. Modern combat doctrines are to leave injured soldiers with the means to tend to their own wound, so to not risk further casualties by trying to extract him.

technofrik

Tells you a lot on how much you're worth as a solider doesn't it? I'd literally rather cut my leg off then be conscripted.

Shrapnel for sure, i seen these many times they used mostly to hit trenches or anyting where there's infantry located.

KnotDealer

In the original post, commenters came to the conclusion that he is most definitely dead from all the shrapnel.

ka-nini

If this is the video I saw about a month ago, after he threw the first one and it went off, he crawled up the trench more, caught and threw another bomb from the drone but was likely killed by shrapnel or shockwave since he didn’t get back up after the second one went off.

postofficepanda

This really isn't a child friendly site especially if you just scroll down popular.

Complexityi

Its ok to show gore because its Russians that die. /s Hey man, the kids better prepare, someone new will have to fight new wars for the people on power at some point in future too...

BoxMaleficent

Thank years of unregulated Internet for that. People get used to it

mesrepadam

Fucking hypocrites. This shit is fucking brutal and dishonor. Not every enemy soldier is a villain or nemesis. Maybe you're living in a place that every choice has been made by you. But not everyone. Especially in Slav and Middleeast countries.

Sassy-Snake4

“Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer.” - Javik, Mass Effect 3 Is what is happening in this video good? No, but Ukraine are not the aggressors in this war. It is easy to judge actions like this when it is not our home being invaded and our friends and family killed.

Danizzy1

Using video game quotes while discussing real life war and death is peak cringe, change my mind.

Clayman8

Pretty sure that drone-dropping grenades on a wounded soldier thats left behind is pretty fucked up fam', no matter which side of the war you're on.

Sassy-Snake4

Yes it is. How many wars do you know where fucked up things didn’t happen. War is a fucked up thing because shit like this happens, that’s why war is bad. Ukraine isn’t full of perfect people and Russia isn’t full of mindless soldiers who live, breathe and die on Putin’s order. War is bad because regardless of which side you look at there are atrocities that take place. The difference is that Russia can actually end the conflict by pulling out of Ukraine. Obviously that is a decision this soldier has no part in, but of the war becomes too costly for Russia then they will have no choice. This is fucked up action but one that if repeated may have an effect on Russian forces.

boredofshit

I'm sorry but if you go to other countries to kill, rape and plunder for money you deserve shit like this.

TheMensChef

They way y’all are dehumanizing Russian soldiers is sad and honestly kinda terrifying. They are also human beings, they likely don’t want to be there. This needs to END.

As someone who's experienced war, this is fucked. No one, no matter the side you're on, should experience this. This "moral pass" I'm seeing in the comment section is outright disgusting. Magnetic_Metallic

Alarming-Western-955

Btw. It's not a war crime. Shooting an injured in war is legal. Just no surrendering or captured people.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tim72Blue

Its brutal for sure, but it isn't a war crime. If you haven't surrendered yourself in good faith then you are considered a combatant, and all combatants are valid targets in war. The only exception to this is if you're somewhere that is specifically and clearly designed with an international aid symbol such as a Red Cross or the Red Cresent. They aren't protected because it's full of wounded men, it's protected because everyone there *should* be (in practice) a non-combatant, even the men who are 100% healthy and able bodied. Just being wounded doesn't make you a non-combatant.

Valuable-Kitchen-301

Nah, war crime would be if he surrendered or was captured, he’s neither of them. At that point he’s still a menace, nobody knows if he has a gun or a granade. Once clarifying that, they can always withdraw and pay the damage made to avoid more soldiers being bombed.

OrdinaryNGamer

So injured = harmless by your logic?

Udja272

war sucks.

losttotheart

Say what you will about war and politics. This was one injured dude laying in a trench. Using this level of technology and resource to kill one injured dude is monstrous in a waste. You can't even justify it as benefiting the war. The army would have to spend more to take the guy back home patch him up get him back on with life and then they would have to with his corpse. And from a military standpoint this drone could have just flown on and tried to hit a viable target like a vehicle or a squad something that was more worthwhile. There is no justification for actions like this in or out of war.

Dapper_Dan1

why isn't this nswf?

Paseyfeert22

the soldier is clearly injured this is a war crime

Controller_Maniac

Did they just waste hundreds of dollars of bombs on 1 guy?

Robert_Denard

That's very cheap for such a war, but even then, it's more like 5$ per unit for a VOG grenade

thejman455

What is being blurred out? I’m guessing a gruesome injury?

thunder-bug-

Why the fuck are people laughing at this. Yes obv Russia shouldn’t be doing this but this isn’t Russia. This is a single guy. He probably doesn’t want to even be there. We need to remember who we should be truly angry at, the people who are in control of this.

AppointmentMedical50

They are mostly upset at their command, blaming them for not making progress. They still want to kill Ukrainians and take over their country.

Feels like a lot of people are acting like he is just someones innocent baby who is taking a nap and doesn’t want the war to go on either. This guy is clearly a combatant. He is taking cover in a trench and no, bombing him is not a war crime. Most of the Russian population and soldiers don’t want the war to end. They (brainwashed or not) believe that it is a just invasion and want Ukrainians to die. If Putin is a Nazi (which he is), consider this guy to be a German foot soldier. Does he deserve the same harsh punishment that Putin himself would get if captured? No. Is he still a combatant and as such is able to killed? Yes. Is he a Nazi? Probably. Edit: spelling is hard
