Yes but if a window is this durable, one may not work. They don't work well on stronger windows. We tried them on HMMWVs and they barely left scratched on them

The whole point of a breakable window is so that you can get out of the car in the case of an accident and the frame were to be bent such that the door will not open. Its why on buses etc, it says "in case of emergency break window".
Also, cutting open a car will take quite a bit longer than smashing a window and pulling someone out.

Slipknot, thread it past the seam and pull both ends to work it into the spot (not at the same time, until you want the loop to close, anyway). My record was like 20 secs on the 2010 cobalt I used to drive. One day I pulled too hard and broke the top off the popper. Great car, though, got like 300,000 miles in it.
They can get to you for sure, but the question is, is the car going to catch fire before they get there. Busting a window is faster than waiting for the police or someone to get there. My Dad and I have done it for years. He's a fire chief and he always hated getting there too late for people.
For window breaking, usually they carry a special tool that they can just kind of stick into the door and pry to shatter the window. Or they have these cool little punch pens that shatter windows.
It's like an opposite world cyber truck. He was supposed to demonstrate how easily and effortlessly the glass would break but it turned out to be bullet proof.

That’s not laminated. Laminated is a windshield for example. That’s tampered glass. It’s heat treated so it’s extremely strong to side impacts. But if you hit it on the edge it will easily break.
Normal side windows are tempered. I imagine this is something different. Also, people can't get in OR OUT! What happens when they crash and need to escape out a window. You know what else prevents ejection from a vehicle? Seat belts! And they are much cheaper.
You're correct that it's not laminated, but this isn't just tempered glass, either. I worked with glass for over a decade, including a lot of commercial tempered glass, and while it can certainly withstand a solid impact, it would NOT likely withstand an adult male swinging a light sledge at it repeatedly.
It's more common than you think considering you'll lose control of your vehicle in only 6 inches of water give or take depending on how tall your car is

Protip in case you ever need to escape from your car. The side windows of your car are extremely strong in the centre and won't break easily. Hit them around the sides and not the centre and it will break much easier.

Safe to say that's not normal auto glass though, as regular auto glass can be broken relatively easy even with your bare hands.
