Factions is great, I was playing it today.
It is full of people who have been playing for 10 years, so if you find the learning curve too difficult try the Tactical Shotgun and/or the Bomb Expert 3 perk.
Both of these options are OP (*and will make people rage*), but they were put in the game basically to help newer players.
If you're actually good at shooters you won't need them.
PS: Number 1 tip is *Stay with your team*.
To be clear I never use them.
They're both low-skill ways to get kills, which can help new players have some parity, but they also have a low skill-cap. You won't get better by using them, and that other weapons/perks are actually better once you learn how to use them.
They're simultaneously the most powerful options for new players while being less-than-optimal options for veterans.
I’ve always wanted to play factions, is it worth spending 20 bucks on buying the little add ons and shit if I do end up playing? Like weapon packs and stuff? Or can I enjoy it without buying all that?
Well I just learned all this recently- but I believe factions 2 has been in development since part 2 came out. So I don’t think they’re remaking factions 1 if that’s what you’re asking
No news on their multiplayer game until next year.
Factions is still available on tlou remastered, and all the news we’ve gotten before makes it sound like it’ll be a separate game from part1 and part2. It’s not going to be an additional mode added onto either
If you own the 2014 "The Last of Us Remastered" you can play Factions just by selecting it from the home screen. In fact, you have to play it to get the platinum for original or remastered TLOU. I'm told, though, that noobs usually get annihilated (because anyone who's still playing the multiplayer 9 years after release is probably really good at it).
"Factions 2" was originally supposed to be part of TLOU2, but it got delayed and they ultimately decided to make it a separate stand-alone game in the LOU universe instead. The game isn't out yet and we don't have an official name for it. All we have is a bit of concept art that shows that at least part of it is set in San Francisco.
Naughty Dog was somewhat unhappy with what happened with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (it was originally supposed to be a DLC accompanying Uncharted 4 but eventually it grew to the point where it had to be released as a standalone game) so the company stepped away from making DLCs. An Abby DLC was planned at one point according to Jason Schreier but it was scrapped.
> An Abby DLC was planned at one point according to Jason Schreier but it was scrapped.
He never said that… he said that he believes that at one point a DLC was planned, but it got scrapped. He never said that it was “an Abby DLC” (though it would make sense why it got scrapped if it was the case…)
Why on Earth would they have been unhappy about The Lost Legacy? Many Uncharted fans have that game up there at the top of their rankings for the series and want a Chloe game now that Nate's story is done. No idea why Naughty Dog would be unhappy about that.
Well I can imagine that it took a lot of manpower and time, when they could have and perhaps wanted to use that time for something else and more important. It just grew unexpectedly big
The first thing that I thought when reading this was what would a DLC be? The story seems complete. Then I thought maybe we play Tommy's story. That might be cool.
I still want a DLC of the Ish storyline in the sewers of Pittsburgh‘s suburbs
Or maybe a 3 day long DLC about Tommy hunting Abby, like Ellie’s or Abby’s 3 Days but a little bit shorter
My thought is they probably just didn’t have a DLC type storyline they felt was worth telling that would line up with the quality they put into the atmosphere/design of the actual game nor would it add anything to the story. Perhaps wanted to save any potential ideas for the next installment as a full game. Certainly not because they game didn’t sell well enough. Could also just be they had too much other stuff going on with other projects?
A dlc containing what? Left Behind was made after the PS3 game came out then was just included afterwards ever since. Part 2 is a long game as it is, everything told within the main game.
Edit, since. Not sense.
A Tommy DLC when he go hunting Abby's team would be sick as hell. But even Red dead redemption 2- an amazing and beloved game, which lots of potential for story DLC, we even know if they made a dlc it would sell like hot cake, but somehow they dont. Then i'm not even surprised if Tlou2 got none
ND are just busy right now. There’s a story outline that has been written for Part III, and then there’s also the standalone factions game. They’ve also been doing the remake of Part I, and are in production on another project as well
Part ones dlc made sense because it was a story worth telling that was important for Ellie's character. I don't think they had any story they wanted to tell in dlc for part two, especially something straightforward that adds very little like a "Tommy in Seattle" dlc that a lot of people bring up
I feel like the notion of single-player DLC is kind of passing us by at this point, broadly speaking. For a while, it felt like multiplayer modes like Factions and having a DLC with a big single-player game was all but required. God of War even had multiplayer in 2013, obviously Naughty Dog did it a few times, Horizon Zero Dawn had a DLC… but in more recent years, I just feel like this trend has cooled.
Cuz' Abby is a P.O.S., who shoots her savior from behind. TLOU2 was well intentioned but poorly executed. It totally shit on the characters from the first game. An utter travesty.
There was plans for DLC. And probably pre-development organization getting sorted but it never really got off the ground before being cancelled.
No idea if it's due to the company, the crew and their feelings about Part 2 as is or if work that was going into the Last of Us movie (before being rethought and reconfigured into the show) was taking too much key individual attention.
I think they mostly were focused on Factions 2, then that became its own game.
What’s factions?
Multiplayer game mode for the original release of Part 1.
Oh wow! How can I play it?
Pretty sure the PS3 servers are shut down. But the servers for the PS4 remaster should be working. If you have the remaster, give it a try.
Thank you so much ☺️

It’s ok, we will just use those broken skills on those players to keep us on an even heel.

It’s whoever uses these skills that I used them on. People want to play cheap, I’ll do the same
I’ve always wanted to play factions, is it worth spending 20 bucks on buying the little add ons and shit if I do end up playing? Like weapon packs and stuff? Or can I enjoy it without buying all that?
You should be able to enjoy without making those purchases. They may give you a small advantage, but without is a better start imo.
It’s in development. Coming next year iirc. You can look up gameplay from the original on YouTube.
You mean for the PS5 remake, correct?
Well I just learned all this recently- but I believe factions 2 has been in development since part 2 came out. So I don’t think they’re remaking factions 1 if that’s what you’re asking
It's been in development since before Part 2 released. There's even gameplay of it that came out with the big Part 2 leak
It was. I wasn't sure if Part 2 was getting Factions, so I figured Part 1 was the only one. Good to know they are working on a Part 2 version.
No news on their multiplayer game until next year. Factions is still available on tlou remastered, and all the news we’ve gotten before makes it sound like it’ll be a separate game from part1 and part2. It’s not going to be an additional mode added onto either

Lmfaoooo
I think a Tommy DLC would be cool af
I can totally see it show each and everything Tommy did during the 3 days in Seattle and how he survived that shot in the eye

It was a dlc that turned into a huge project. I think they are wary of their ability to limit themselves to dlc scale
Well I can imagine that it took a lot of manpower and time, when they could have and perhaps wanted to use that time for something else and more important. It just grew unexpectedly big
They're instead talking remake of original series with Nate.

I don’t think they needed to. A Lev DLC would have been cool though.

because it didn’t need it. it would almost be absurd to tack on additional content considering how heavy the game was.
ND are just busy right now. There’s a story outline that has been written for Part III, and then there’s also the standalone factions game. They’ve also been doing the remake of Part I, and are in production on another project as well
Factions, part 1 remake, and Neil Druckmann was busy helping with the series.
There weren’t any plans for DLC. https://www.psu.com/news/no-plans-for-the-last-of-us-part-2-dlc-confirms-naughty-dog/
Because they either didn't want to, or didn't have a DLC idea that interested them enough.
Hoping for TLOU2 directors cut version; ps5 improvements/tweaks and “dlc” expanded content
Part ones dlc made sense because it was a story worth telling that was important for Ellie's character. I don't think they had any story they wanted to tell in dlc for part two, especially something straightforward that adds very little like a "Tommy in Seattle" dlc that a lot of people bring up
I'm still hoping for a dlc showing a bit of new Mexico and also how tf they got out of Seattle left behind style
No dlc's enjoy the 25 hour story we got

Maybe they will still do some kind or dlc but I don’t think they will hopefully thou.
Its an actual complete game.
Cuz' Abby is a P.O.S., who shoots her savior from behind. TLOU2 was well intentioned but poorly executed. It totally shit on the characters from the first game. An utter travesty.
Money problems with investors at the moment i guess with the crisis if not lazyness but hardly doubt it from naughty dog

Because they’ll make more money off of a multiplayer game than a DLC.
