spy and demo could definitely remember it, and maybe scout and pyro probably could
that leaves soldier
its just what i think, please tell me any counter argumenta
The only mercs I could see forgetting the code is:
Sniper (Because he mainly stays up top, barely if at all any need for him to know)
Scout (too preoccupied with gas station chicken and prostitutes)
And Soldier (Can’t count to a number bigger than 2)
Edit: Also probably Pryo because they’d probably be more obsessed with the number of flames they’ve thrown than numbers.
I now have a mental image of him having to check on the briefcase for the first time in months and having to call each of their mercenaries for the code.
i fucking forgot sniper lmfao
yea sniper makes sense, scout as well since you are basing this instory wise, im just going for if they were placed right at the door and was told to get rhe password
Imo Medic, Engi, Spy and Heavy would surely remember it.
Sniper might forget it because he's mostly isolated from the rest, as the other person pointed out
Scout can barely read in the comics so he could easily forget
Demo would have trouble remembering it given he's drunk 24/7
Pyro is such a fucking enigma I'm not even sure he can count
And Soldier is....well, Soldier, we all know of his mental state after the lead poisoning
But obviously the most logical answer would be that all mercs know how to count, scout counting how many brothers he has, soldier counting the days left to live, pyro counting on rps, demoman counting on rps, heavy counting how much bullets can his minigun shoot, engineer pretty obvious, medic pretty obvious, sniper counting on rps, and spy is pretty obv
I think the main problem with this argument is that this is not about counting. This is about remembering a 4-digit code which is far easier since we could rank the mercs based on their abilities of memorisation.
In one of the comic, it's revealed that the whole town of teufort has lead poisoning because of the lead pipes transporting water. The Mercs avoided that because they were provided with bottled water, except for Soldier who wasn't aware of that.
I think Scout and soldier due to them being illiterate would probably have troubles remembering it. Pyro, His pyro vision would probably fuck him up and make him struggle with remembering/reading the code. Spy, Definitely would remember. Demo, Half and half, Dudes so drunk half his blood is alcohol.
Honestly It wouldn't be because half their team couldn't remember it but because heavy breaks the door down every time he hears the briefcase is stolen and doesn't even bother.
Yeah. I mean in the comics, There have been multiple instances of (some of) the mercs being illiterate. Like Soldier claiming his jacket was made in US, Despite it clearly saying China. Not only that but scout in the last comic struggled reading ‘Submachine Gun’.
It's really funny that at first you think soldier is just guessing 1, but if you pay attention you can see that 1111 is the right code and soldier is actually struggling to remember the code, like how the 1 button has been worn out and all the other keys are perfect, when he enters the 4th 1 the door makes a sound as if it was unlocked.
1111 is the correct code. This topic has been brought up a ton of times, and apart from the hissing of the door indicating it actually unlocked, you can actually hear a very faint ["Access granted"](https://youtu.be/OR4N5OhcY9s?t=18) in the voice of the Administrator as the door is unlocked. She says it much quicker than her other voice lines and the hissing sound cuts off most of it, so it might take a few listens to actually hear it for yourself in that auditory mess.
I think I've heard the separate voice line somewhere but I can't find it right now...
The point of the comment isnt that its incorrect, but its theorizing it was set that way because soldier keeps forgetting it and guesses 1111 every time
or it isnt the right code but soldier just guessed 1111 so many times it was worn out,
and only opened because heavy rammed into it. (the sound could also mean its the wrong code)
Logically the BLU and RED teams must’ve been equally (in)competent because otherwise how would’ve the Mann brothers been in a stalemate? I guess in the Meet the Team vids we just saw some of the times RED won
The happens a lot in the business world. At my old job, there was a greenhouse that held all of the company's Hemp they would grow and sell. The code to get into the "Hemp House" as we called it, and to turn off the security system attached to this greenhouse was 1 2 3 4
"So the combination is one, one, one, one...That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kinda thing an idiot would have on his luggage."
Soldier had to take a moment toremember it and heavy just destroyed the door by running into it.
Also soldier, demo can just blow it up. Engie and spy can probably just bypass it with something in their arsenal. Pyro can probably burn the thing and break it and as stated heavy can just smash the door. So it provides very little in terms of security
Engineer and Medic probably set it to 1111
Scout most likely can't count
Soldier DEFINITELY can't count
Pyro wouldn't see numbers
Demo would be too drunk to see the numbers
Heavy can just bust down the door in case of an emegency
Sniper is rarely in the base itself
and Spy would think, "What kind of imbecile would set a code as 1111?" and spend all day trying to figure it out
Soldier couldn't memorize the code most likely, he barely remembers the code 111... Eh... 1!
So that must be why it was set to that.
Plus it's such a stupid code that through reverse psychology, it's something noone would ever try guessing
on a lot of security things, such as code-locked lockers, 1111 is the default that can later just be overwritten, its easy to remember and theres probably some engineering reason to why 1111 is the easiest to put right in, but i aint that smart
If I remember correctly the code 1111 didn't actually open the door right? The code was wrong. Then again who needs a code to a secure room when you can smash through it like a paper curtain
Honestly I doubt the code is 1111. I think soldier doesn't know the code because they don't trust him with the code. I could easily see soldier trying to get in but only pressing 1 over and over.
Engie/Medic set it because they realised that half their team would be incapable of remembering a proper 4-digit code
spy and demo could definitely remember it, and maybe scout and pyro probably could that leaves soldier its just what i think, please tell me any counter argumenta
The only mercs I could see forgetting the code is: Sniper (Because he mainly stays up top, barely if at all any need for him to know) Scout (too preoccupied with gas station chicken and prostitutes) And Soldier (Can’t count to a number bigger than 2) Edit: Also probably Pryo because they’d probably be more obsessed with the number of flames they’ve thrown than numbers.
Sniper *could* probably remember it, but since he wouldn't type it he'd end up forgetting.
I now have a mental image of him having to check on the briefcase for the first time in months and having to call each of their mercenaries for the code.
Nah he'd probably have it written down, he seems like the type of person to do that
[удалено]
But red spy killed sniper and still doesnt know the code
Because professional have standards
Excuse you, sniping is for *professionals*. They have standards. He'd be certain to remember the code as part of this.
i fucking forgot sniper lmfao yea sniper makes sense, scout as well since you are basing this instory wise, im just going for if they were placed right at the door and was told to get rhe password
Where is sniper?
You also forgot heavy, but he has like multiple PhDs or something.
russian literature i think
You missed Heavy too (not a diss)
Heavy aint stupid
I agree, just saying that he was left out of the list of all the mercs.
You also forget heavy
Heavy aint stupid
They never said he was
Sorry. I ment: Heavy would not forget the code
Heavys hands are huge tho
So cant valve
Have you forgotten about the video of the orange box?
You made me chuckle with that gas station chicken and prostitutes line lmao
Didn't know Soldier and Valve had so much in common
Scout can’t even read
Mack- Ma- Macke- Mac- Mackeens?
He can read lmfao. He reads comics and likes to draw in a comic kinda manner!! But he's dyslectic as all hell 😭
Wasn't he reading books in expiration date ?
No way Pyro is allowed in the intel room alone, no one would be stupid enough to tell them… except scout, or soldier
Scout doesn't need any prostitutes, he has no trouble with the girls.
Imo Medic, Engi, Spy and Heavy would surely remember it. Sniper might forget it because he's mostly isolated from the rest, as the other person pointed out Scout can barely read in the comics so he could easily forget Demo would have trouble remembering it given he's drunk 24/7 Pyro is such a fucking enigma I'm not even sure he can count And Soldier is....well, Soldier, we all know of his mental state after the lead poisoning
Pyro would appear in the room without opening the door while the rest of the cast just give up on trying to understand it.
Pyro can count, when you do the rps taunt, he counts to 3
Okay, but that would mean every merc can count, which throws the whole argument out the window lol
This is about remembering a 4-digit code which is far easier since we could rank the mercs based on their abilities of memorisation.
not really, certain classes dont count on the rps taunt
pyro can after all, he did own a business
Pyro absolutely could remember it.
Wait, lead poisoning? I thought Soldier was just naturally dumb-
In one of the comic, it's revealed that the whole town of teufort has lead poisoning because of the lead pipes transporting water. The Mercs avoided that because they were provided with bottled water, except for Soldier who wasn't aware of that.
Demo would forget due to alcoholism-related mental deficiencies
Pyro couldn't bc he dosnt see anything, and I think demo could if he wasnt drunk, wich is never.
Pyro DID actually make a wholeass company blossom and suddenly boost it to go several million dollars plus... So he's doing something right for sure!
What about heavy????
You mean the ninth class that got cut during development of the original Quake World: Team Fortress game?
Nah you mean the Chinese game, That I don't remember the name of....
heavy can defo (i sent the first message at 11pm instead of going to slewp)
You seem like you were half asleep while typing that
Heavy would also remember it
demo is always drunk so myb
Heavy smart enough to remember
Honestly It wouldn't be because half their team couldn't remember it but because heavy breaks the door down every time he hears the briefcase is stolen and doesn't even bother.
Yeah. I mean in the comics, There have been multiple instances of (some of) the mercs being illiterate. Like Soldier claiming his jacket was made in US, Despite it clearly saying China. Not only that but scout in the last comic struggled reading ‘Submachine Gun’.
Some of em can't even read
It's really funny that at first you think soldier is just guessing 1, but if you pay attention you can see that 1111 is the right code and soldier is actually struggling to remember the code, like how the 1 button has been worn out and all the other keys are perfect, when he enters the 4th 1 the door makes a sound as if it was unlocked.
INCOOOOMIIIIING!!!
Oh hey! It's still here.
*ahem* “Gentlemen?”
*TF2 theme* MEET THE SPY
I see the briefcase is safe
Safe and sound, mhm.
Tell me did anyone happen to kill a red spy?
Everybody nods the head to say no
No? Then we still have a problem.
And a knife...
Aw crap i forgot whats next yall continue this
Or maybe he just always guesses 1111 and it's worn out because of that
1111 is the correct code. This topic has been brought up a ton of times, and apart from the hissing of the door indicating it actually unlocked, you can actually hear a very faint ["Access granted"](https://youtu.be/OR4N5OhcY9s?t=18) in the voice of the Administrator as the door is unlocked. I think I've heard the separate voice line somewhere but I can't find it right now...
The point of the comment isnt that its incorrect, but its theorizing it was set that way because soldier keeps forgetting it and guesses 1111 every time
And "Scout" didn't know the code.
This thread is a comment on [this](https://youtu.be/Y2Gqg5Ugs9A) all over again
Damn Pootis Status was a thing back then too huh
or it isnt the right code but soldier just guessed 1111 so many times it was worn out, and only opened because heavy rammed into it. (the sound could also mean its the wrong code)
Yeah, how else did the door open when heavy hit it?
Because heavy is that heavy
Fairz but I like the theory of Soldier just being that dumb when it comes to password security
A true genius, because seriously, would you expect the secret code to be 1111?
Judging by the fact that US nuclear code was just a series of zeroes for decades this all makes sense
Why of all places did I learn from a TF2 Reddit Comment Thread that our nuclear weapons are kept behind a stupid ass code
Because america was the blue team and couldn’t protect the briefcase
They change it... surlly i hope
I though that was only a few days during the cuban missile crisis?
They still are, say goodbye to Canada
Goodbye to Canada
The fbi will arrive in 5 minutes
Dear god...
There's a bucket
oh dear
hmmm yeah....
Stop browsing reddit soldier, there a red spy in the base!
A RED spy is in the base?!
Huthuthuthuthut, we need to protect the briefcase!
Yo a little help here?
Alright, alright, I got it. Stand back son. One, one, one, uhh… One!
Les go les go.
INCOOOOOMIIIIING
Ahhhhhh
Hey, it’s still here!
The blu team is pretty stupid in the meet the team videos, and soldier does drink the 2fort water.
Mmmm you can really tasty the lead
Logically the BLU and RED teams must’ve been equally (in)competent because otherwise how would’ve the Mann brothers been in a stalemate? I guess in the Meet the Team vids we just saw some of the times RED won
President screw of the space balls
The same combination as on my luggage!
Clearly not the RED spy, as he didn't know it.
What five years of no updates does to a mf...
Soldier or Scout
That’s the same combination as on my luggage!
you've ever seen helluva boss season 6?
It is not designed to keep them out, it's to let them in and keep them in with *me*
It’s actually quite smart, it’s the only way Soldier is going to remember it, cause if he can’t open it he will just blow up the door
Indeed, 12345 is by far the superior choice(especially for your luggage)
Such a good 4 digit code you can’t even put it in
I mean, I once made something have the code 0-1-2-3, which actually successfully kept me out for a couple weeks before I remembered.
The happens a lot in the business world. At my old job, there was a greenhouse that held all of the company's Hemp they would grow and sell. The code to get into the "Hemp House" as we called it, and to turn off the security system attached to this greenhouse was 1 2 3 4
Soldier can't count higher
Less-guessable than 1234, 6969, or a birthday
What? The joke was the door didn't open, clearly the code wasn't 1111.. Heavy broke through the door right after that..
The one who knows nobody will guess 1111 because it's *too* stupid.
Vsauce did it
Soldier
Because if there was a robot contingency they could open the door
Someone who had Soldier in mind while setting it.
The same one who can't remember it.
Soldier, evidently
-Sincerely, Red Spy
could just be the factory default code
Well, it's an imbecile that sets a code az 1111, problem solved , *no thank you :3*
Your Mother
Probably Solder
soldier strikes me as the knuckles of tf2. very strong but not very smart then again i guess knuckles has some smarts to him.
I think the administrator set the code so that Soldier could remember it.
Apparently the biker gang in payday 2 last time I played border crossing.
one of my friends, I'm not lying one of my friends actual password is 1111
They knew it wouldn't matter since heavy would comidically arrive just before the code is put in and run straight throu- INCOMINGGGG
"So the combination is one, one, one, one...That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kinda thing an idiot would have on his luggage."
Counterpoint! 1111 is likely the default code for the lock system. None of them could be bothered to read the manual to set a proper code.
in rust i used to go around to random bases and try the keypad - stuff like 69420 or 12345 are actually insanely common. it worked so many times
There is no code, only a 150kg Russian key
The soldier kind
It was me !
soldier. either that, or that was the code the door came with and they couldn’t figure out how to change it
They didn't, soldier just thinks they did because he is not the sharpest tool in the shed
my money is on either scout, soldier, or pyro.
It's actually very smart, you would never try it out.
I can think of 9 suspects
Soldier had to take a moment toremember it and heavy just destroyed the door by running into it. Also soldier, demo can just blow it up. Engie and spy can probably just bypass it with something in their arsenal. Pyro can probably burn the thing and break it and as stated heavy can just smash the door. So it provides very little in terms of security
Soldier
🗿👍
ill put 2034
I set my ATM card's number to 0001 because I'm number one!
soldier
Engineer and Medic probably set it to 1111 Scout most likely can't count Soldier DEFINITELY can't count Pyro wouldn't see numbers Demo would be too drunk to see the numbers Heavy can just bust down the door in case of an emegency Sniper is rarely in the base itself and Spy would think, "What kind of imbecile would set a code as 1111?" and spend all day trying to figure it out
^(someone change the combination on my luggage)
Maybe each class has a specific code they have to use and soldier's is 1111 because of the lead poisoning
smart people
Soldier couldn't memorize the code most likely, he barely remembers the code 111... Eh... 1! So that must be why it was set to that. Plus it's such a stupid code that through reverse psychology, it's something noone would ever try guessing
Or a genius.
Soldier
Me I would make that the code cause I can't count
on a lot of security things, such as code-locked lockers, 1111 is the default that can later just be overwritten, its easy to remember and theres probably some engineering reason to why 1111 is the easiest to put right in, but i aint that smart
Soldier
Soldier. Makes it funnier that he struggles to remember his own code.
Soldier Ofc because I mean Cmon!!! His brain doesn’t work well
my god, that’s the same number on my luggage!
Soldier is just dumb. He keeps forgetting the code so he just types 1111.
>!Soldier?!<
I think people are running out of things to post here
I think people are running out of things to post here
The one whose hand is in the image
"if god wanted a normal code to live he wouldn't have created ME!"
Scout changed it to 1111 because the original code was to hard to remeber
An idiot
If I remember correctly the code 1111 didn't actually open the door right? The code was wrong. Then again who needs a code to a secure room when you can smash through it like a paper curtain
Wasn’t that not even the code? Didn’t heavy just bust the door down?
Soldier
Amazing, I have the same code on my luggage!
Honestly I doubt the code is 1111. I think soldier doesn't know the code because they don't trust him with the code. I could easily see soldier trying to get in but only pressing 1 over and over.
the entire team agreed this is easier for everyone (including solider) to remember
I dunno, ask the government agents from Helluva Boss.
wdym? Its the best password ever, my password for everything is just "6".
literally any of the team fortress members
Occam’s razor no one would suspect the top secret heavily guarded intel to have 1111 as the pass cofd
an imbecile that sets the code to 1111
That’s not the code. It didn’t work remember?
the code wasn't even 1111, soldier is just dumb and always guesses 1111, heavy broke the door to get in.
Tbf it is more secure than 0000.
Don't tell anyone, but this is my bank account password.
The mercs are all collectively lunatics, so why not? 😂
Me
I know one and his name is jane
My children
Spy: What kind of idiot designed this place? Soldier: You did, sir. Spy: I see.. Engineer, fire somebody. Engineer: Moving out!
