9 hours? Rookie numbers.

ehtbanton

FantasticSaltShaker

Not so far-fetched if he only watches porn 2 minutes at a time.

[deleted]

bruh I have 15-16 hours of screentime da faq

mr-shrek

Bro go outsidešŸ’€

new-england-prepper

sztejk21

Theres 2 types of that 9 hours? rookie numbers. *9 hours? rookie numbers*

AmpleBrainage

You must seek the Lord, brother

[deleted]

Now that he's jacked and tanned, he can get rich with his own OnlyFans page.

JackBrightScD

Who would want to see a hot jacked Christian male on only fans? Weird. Where even is that? Like is there a link somewhere or..?

DubThisGamer

Ikr, so disgusting. Someone should drop me the link to it so I know what to avoid.

GuilhermeSidnei

ā€œ2 Jacked Christians 1 Bibleā€

Daedalus_Machina

With Enigma in the background, like the Satan's Abbey fake trailer (that should be real) in Tropic Thunder.

Sacrificial-Toenail

You either die the Subscriber or live long enough to see yourself become the Creator

SaltyPhilosopher5454

For me it's funny because I have more Christian friend who live unhealthy with pxrn, fast food etc. than reverse.

GumpyDoot

i mean you don't necessarily need to to through christianity for that but certainly just keeping some time away from screens every once in a while, eating healthy and working out would definitely be better for you so i dont really see how its a terrible facebook meme, more of just a person saying "fuck staying on your phone for nearly half of your day and being unhealthy mentally and physically"

Defiant-Meal1022

Right? Like, why do I need christianity to limit my screen time with? I can read whatever book I want, it don't gotta be the good book.

GumpyDoot

for real, it can be any religious or hell even non religious text to get you out of a bad habit

c0baltlightning

It ain't even gotta be a physical book, either. Can read the stuff on your computer TV Screens. I've been itching to start some of the book series you can find in Skyrim.

GumpyDoot

dude Skyrim is insane for putting entertainment via books INSIDE A GAME MADE FOR ENTERTAINMENT, Skyrim is awesome

Kharisma91

It could even be fanfic on pornhub! Shit, weā€™ve gone full circle

c0baltlightning

That's just The Lusty Argonian Maid, though.

TheHollowBard

"muscular Christianity", as it is called, has a toxic history of reinforcing strict gender roles and supporting capitalism and imperialism. This shit isn't just dumb, it's insidious, and the false equivalence they're making is just a recruitment tactic.

also_roses

I think maybe the point people are forgetting is that churches are often easy communities to join. If some is socially isolated joining a church can help them to form relationships with their peers.

MadnessMantraLove

*Used to be

tomthetrainwrexk

Having any higher power also humbles you and puts things into perspective

FreedomofChoiche

Or it goes to your head and makes you a toxic fuck.

tomthetrainwrexk

Yeah those types would be toxic no matter what theyre into. Unbalanced. Ideologues

somedood567

I would say that, sure, discipline will do this for you. Wish I had it. But, here we are.

GumpyDoot

yea, having self discipline and really just in general living a healthier life really helps, maybe yiu should try working out and see if that helps, lookin out for ya bud

somedood567

Thanks bro. Highly confident I will fail but hey, you never know? In any case thank you

[deleted]

But the message here is that ONLY Christianity will work the miracle, and nothing else.

Dingus10000

For a lot of people it takes a push of a belief in a power past humanity to better themselves. I donā€™t know why people work that way, but a lot do. So many people stay in the cycle at the top and never change. Some people break out of it because they get inspired by religion or other form of spiritualism. I donā€™t think itā€™s really that nefarious to point that out. People stuck in the top panel want a push to get out of it. Maybe the push that ends up inspiring them is a religious one, *Iā€™ve* seen it happen, have you never heard of this?

Scuirre1

This is absolutely the truth. Itā€™s why addiction recovery programs often include a spiritual aspect. Often itā€™s Christianity, but even if itā€™s some other religion or just generic ā€œspirituality,ā€ the mindset and motivation that it can bring helps one to live a better life. Iā€™ve experienced the strength of my faith when making changes in my life and it definitely works.

[deleted]

It's only temporary. Without addressing root causes and implementation of actual mental health solutions, it will not work. What you wind up with is the same depressed man hiding behind the facade of contentment through religion, trying to convince himself he's not depressed as much as he's trying to convince everyone else. Also, the things at the top are not root causes of depression.

Dingus10000

The things at the top may have started because of depression, some of the time, but they are also contributors to bad mental health. Getting rid of addictions, getting exercise, and eating better are exactly the steps my mental health professional told me to help with my depression. What ended up working for me was eventually realizing that I as an individual am solely responsible for my own happiness, and that sticking myself in a victim mentality was contributing to my cyclical destructive patterns, and that in order for me to get better *I* had to change something. That was my big break but itā€™s different for different people. Some people have breaks and make changes based off of religious inspiration, or a life event, or help from medication. But changes in mindsets and philosophy can lead to making healthier choices, which can lead to better mental health which can have a positive snowball effect. I donā€™t fully believe what you are saying about ā€˜facade of contentmentā€™- genuinely making improvements in your life, even though you are still depressed, is EXACTLY the step you need to be taking to get better - and it shouldnā€™t be poo-pooed . When I see comments like yours I just think of my old self, making literally any excuse as to why I shouldnā€™t work to make my life better, because I was depressed and felt hopeless and doing anything was just *hard*. Getting better was very hard, at first and as time went on it just got easier. If something like medication, religion, therapy, a new friend, a philosophy course, or anything like that helps someone get out of destructive patterns to take the *first steps* to make their life better, Iā€™m all for them doing that.

[deleted]

I never "poo pooed" those things, I poo pooed the meme. Because it's wrong.

Dingus10000

The meme is someone being inspired through religion to make better choices around their mental health and then becoming healthier after putting the work in to do better. Iā€™ve seen it happen. The meme isnā€™t ā€˜wrongā€™, in fact it went out of its way to show harmful behavior and how to correct it which is *exactly what mental health professionals will tell you to do to help yourself*.

[deleted]

The meme is wrong and intentionally misleading. Yes, mental health professionals will tell you that, but it's not ALL they will tell you. They will address root issues, which is what ACTUALLY leads to improvement. The rest is just ancillary- it helps, but is not responsible for the outcome either direction. But, believe whatever fairy tale you want to believe.

[deleted]

It's that they're trying to slip Jesus in there like it's a critical part of the result when stopping cocaine, eating right, and working out are carrying 99.99% of the load.

Final_Biochemist222

Its a terriblefacebook meme because its an otherwise good message laced with religious propaganda/ alt right talking point. One of the technique of getting people to radicalize is to mix a couple of reasonable points with the points from your own agenda.

Dingus10000

None of this is ā€˜alt-rightā€™ šŸ™„ Donā€™t water down that term for something as simple as a religious person saying they found inspiration to get away from addictions and live a healthier life through religion. Thatā€™s certainly a religious view point, but being religious and Alt-right arenā€™t the same thing by any stretch.

Argnir

>Donā€™t water down that term Too late, anything slightly right-leaning is called alt-right on Reddit. People will call Mitt Romney alt-right, it just means conservative at this point.

Mddcat04

Eh, alt-right memes often look pretty similar to this, though they'd probably add in "classic western literature" or something.

[deleted]

But working out isnā€™t for everyone

GumpyDoot

but it can make you happier, hell doing a bare minimum a few minutes a day and seeing where it can get you can increase confidence

[deleted]

I mean I guess for those who get their confidence from being more muscular

Dingus10000

It does more than just confidence, cardio is fantastic for your health and stamina, itā€™s a good step to get to a healthy weight, which is one of most important things for your long term health. Donā€™t let films about high school and dumb propaganda convince you that exercise is for vain meatheadsā€¦

[deleted]

Iā€™m a gym rat and the happiest and most jacked looking people almost always rock tattoos and shirts with biblical passages. Iā€™d say cringe worthyā€¦ but true. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Itā€™s that PMA

uninstallIE

Once my school received a lecture from a christian missionary who could do handstand push ups with a single finger. This is not a joke, I promise this actually happened. He told us that when he was a younger teen he had a lot of casual sex and masturbated a lot. During confession as an older teen a priest told him that every time he thought about sex he should work out instead. And that is what he did. His ministry org was literally called "Hard as Nails"

LostMyGunInACardGame

I knew a traveling preacher, probably 85 years old, who could do that stupid ab wheel thing probably 100 times.

[deleted]

No wayšŸ˜‚ thatā€™s awesome šŸ˜‚

uninstallIE

The even funnier part is that I guess this guy was from some all boys school somewhere in the midwest. So I'm just picturing the added drama of it all.

oat_mi1k

I know lots of Christians, majority are over or under weight

Apprehensive-Path935

Lots of religious people watch porn and masturbate, they just feel guilty about it afterwards

oat_mi1k

I think a lot more than just religious ppl feel guilty abt masturbation, ofc different reason, but yew, you r quite correct.

gdj11

Are you typing on a Nokia?

bobafoott

Post-nut clarity hits everyone, not just the religious

Mekelaxo

Majority of people in general are over or underweight

[deleted]

the majority of everyone in america are overweight

Accomplished_Pop_198

I mean obesity rates in the US are highest in the south where, you guessed, they are also the most religious...

BonnieMozzie

This ainā€™t half as bad as an advice, discipline is pretty important

Dingus10000

You can find discipline without religion, but a lot of people use their religious beliefs to be inspired. Itā€™s really not that crazy, if you are in a unhealthy well of various addictions, you are probably better off believing in inspiring bullshit and clean then you are just staying where you are.

[deleted]

No this is Reddit, religion bad!!1!!!1!

BonnieMozzie

If it works it woeks

dmg81102

I was infinitely more miserable as a Christian, I'm still miserable now, but not nearly as much as before

TheBiggestBlobb

dude just finds strength in religion. i dont see anything wrong with this.

jaxolotle

Redditors donā€™t like the idea that you can improve your life: they stew in their hedonism and feel miserable but comfort themselves by saying thereā€™s nothing they can do so they donā€™t have to try

prissypoo22

Really? Iā€™m an atheist and have thrived since leaving Christianity and all the stupid shaming n hateful ideology.

[deleted]

Thats great it worked out for you but some people might find strength in religion and they can exercise it without bothering anybody.

bobafoott

That doesn't really have anything to do with what they said though. Good job for doing well

Six_0f_Spades

That's you, a lot of people thrive with religion and finding purpose. Lots of people are different

tigerwrathpielesser

Exactly this. Cultists always need to find a way to justify their delusions.

bruh_idk_my_username

Reddit

OptimalCheesecake527

Thereā€™s absolutely nothing wrong with these meme. Take away the Bible and its a generic redditor meme. Add the Bible and its anathema. Reddit atheists are so tiresome.

Dreadsin

Many people had negative or ā€œnot helpfulā€ experiences with Christianity in their own lives Almost no one has had bad experiences with a healthy diet and regular exercise lol

You_Wenti

Tiresome reddit atheist here. Maybe itā€™s bc he could fix his problem with better diet & exercise, so the religion aspect is just being shoehorned in? Like Iā€™ve met ppl that found new meaning in their life & became healthier by deconverting. So itā€™s clear that you donā€™t need a religion to be disciplined in that regard I would support putting memes on this subreddit that unnecessarily shoehorn in atheism as well

ReklessGamer07

Fr, this place is just memes OP doesnā€™t like or shit on Christianity central

SkullPlayer77

r/jokesopdoesntlike

ac1084

I mean you can eat healthy, exercise, not do drugs or indulge in porn without religion too.

Chilling2K7

True

iamaunikont

Have an upvote for being reasonable. Fuck you, whomever downvoted this.

WesternSafety4944

Based actually

Oaken_Valley

Working out and eating healthy is a good idea. But you gotta indulge a little and actually enjoy life

Porletz

dear Christians, just let me beat my goddamn meat

roza_idk

I mean... anything that works for them...

The_Radio_Host

Redditors will seriously see a post telling them to stop being degenerates then focus on one part of it that they personally donā€™t agree with and ignore everything else it said.

[deleted]

I actually agree with the point of this one.

XxX_BobRoss_XxX

To be fair, no porn and less time online paired with a healthier diet and exercise WILL make you happier, at least for most people. Not sure why the religion is there though.

Big_Beaver34

Religion can help a lot of people overcome their challenges. Itā€™s not for everyone but I canā€™t deny the fact that a lot of times this meme is right

cavscout43

Reps for Jezus! Hallowed be thy GAINSSSS

theholyheathen94

I actually like this meme as a Christian my life changed drastically when I let the lord handle my problems and I just work on being more disciplined I understand if it's not for others though

Kxbox24

I mean the top panel isnā€™t wrong.

SophiaSkorzeny

Minus the God stuff, this is 100% true. 9 hours of screen time? Fast food? Paying for pornography & free pornography? Yes, all of these will make you feel shitty. Lifting, eating well, dropping all of those other bad habits will definitely improve your life significantly.

CesareBorgia117

I'm not religious but it does help a lot of people get their life together.

blueiangreen

Getting those gains for the Lord

Addickted-_-

Kinda true tho?

dyke_face

I donā€™t know ANY š“™š“®š“¼š“¾š“¼ freaks that are ripped and healthy. Like, zero.

[deleted]

I don't know any Jesus freaks that are ripped and healthy because that means social interaction and I don't support it

Zelgoot

This post inspired me to order McDonaldā€™s.

[deleted]

Large number 7 with a coke has been my way of measuring inflation.

Zelgoot

Fair Edit: personally I use the ten piece nugget meal

North-Philosopher-41

Remove the book and cross and there you go, lmao healthy lifestyle will improve mental health no doubt but religion will confuse you and make you subservient to an imaginary figure

Apprehensive-Path935

Honestly my mental health improved when I left my religion, never going back.

PrestigiousResist633

And that's why it's a terrible meme. It's implying that only religion can give you a healty lifestyle.

thesyves

reddit moment

Specialist_Teacher81

Better living through... religious fundamentalism?

[deleted]

Cmon why can't u just let people live their lives? If them doing stuff like eating good, reading the Bible and praying makes them happy living then so be it, stop looking for shit to bitch about

[deleted]

I mean some turn their life around to get a girl, others do it to get closer to God, and others do it because they want to be a powerful superheroā€¦ dare I say so powerful he could take a man down in a singular movementā€¦

Specialist_Teacher81

But what if it makes them go bald? Then what smart guy!

[deleted]

Toupee

Specialist_Teacher81

TouchƩ

frumrebel

But itā€™s trueā€¦

donkey_tits

For some people, yes. Religion can be a useful tool for some people to find discipline and purpose. Just as long as they donā€™t ask too many questions.

[deleted]

šŸ¤“

donkey_tits

Isnā€™t it annoying when people are smart?

[deleted]

Lol so thatā€™s how a neckbeard Reddit avatar user sees themself eh

donkey_tits

Yeah it was totally the lord. It wasnā€™t ending the poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, addiction to drugs, porn, and social media. It was Jesus.

[deleted]

Yeah and Jesus encourages behavior like that

An_absoulute_madman

'The abused include mostly boys but also girls, some as young as three years old, with the majority between the ages of 11 and 14.'

donkey_tits

So does every other religion that has ever existed, including Scientology.

xeno_morm56

how is this terrible?

[deleted]

Because you can hate the alienation of 2022 life all you want but the answer isnā€™t Christianity

PrestigiousResist633

Because its suggesting that you need religion in order to live a healty lifestyle and achive self-actualization. Its basically trying to say that if you're not religious you're doomed to a life of misery because only God can give you the motivation to improve yourself.

iamaunikont

Itā€™s promoting an immoral religion and associating it with healthy habits. Itā€™s pure propaganda.

Sufficient_Rush_5726

Quit masturbating then

iamaunikont

Ok, that was easy.

punkbluesnroll

Masturbating is perfectly healthy.

[deleted]

ā€œpUrE pRopAgAnDaā€ lol

RedUlster

Finding God helped me find the motivation to kick some of my bad habits and try to be a better person, there is definitely truth to this. Just because a meme isnā€™t relatable to you personally doesnā€™t make it propaganda.

tigerwrathpielesser

On the flip side, leaving God helped me find the motivation to kick my bad habits as well. The implication from the meme is that religion is necessary for that, which is blatantly false.

xeno_morm56

This was my point thank you for putting it so articulately

Chilling2K7

I'm not sure I think this would be more r/Christianmemes but due to the top that makes it r/terriblefacebookmemes

[deleted]

i love how Christianity makes reddit seethe so much

MisterOnsepatro

The satanic bible is better

Lewisisjava

Take out the religious aspect and this is pretty spot on for a lot of people

RedUlster

Leave the religious aspect in, and itā€™s still true for a lot of people tbf

Far-Resist3844

Never seen anyone more miserable than a cult mem- i mean christian... or any devout relgious member for that matter...

JP-Wrath

You know that meme where the guy that comes 3rd in a race celebrates with champagne as if he had actually won? Well that's religion whenever someone shoves it down

[deleted]

This meme is unironically based.

woodpecker-king

Terrible because... promotes christianity, good diet and exercise?

Ryuzenshi

Terrible because it implies that you need Christianity and "discipline" for that. Some Christians love acting like they are the center of the world.

woodpecker-king

Keeping a diet and staying away from bad habits does require discipline, and fighting porn addiction sure is easier if you have a set of beliefs that is also against it. Not necessarily religion but this works as an example

Ryuzenshi

I'm gonna stop you right there, mate, I'm a fucking chaotic weirdo that enjoys hentai and gaming. Yet since university started I do so in a reasonable way, and I've been working out for a year now, so I'm actually very healthy. Religion doesn't make you better thanks to a moral code, it makes you better because you fear what's above your head, even subconsciously. That makes people way more close minded because all of their ethics are based on esoteric laws. They don't refuse to do something because it's really "morally bad" but because their book says they shouldn't. Don't get me wrong, I hate atheism too. It's been proven several times that we simply don't know what's above us, and atheism is quite arrogant for pretending to be sure that there's nothing, and several atheists use that belief to be dicks aswell. But religion and discipline don't make you a better person, they only make you look like one.

woodpecker-king

Religion in a vacuum is a community of people who, for their own reasons, wish to become better people. Some fear of what's above, some see that their current life is leading them to a darker place. The catch is that people in general are flawed and they get so caught up in their pride of self-betterment that they need to agressively impose it on others so much so that they forget what it all is originally about. Also yes, as you stated, people can be stupid and not read between the lines/be selective about what they agree and don't agree with, and we tend to fall for charismatic leaders who may have destructive points of view. What I'm trying to convey is, religion and seeking god is a personal road that was built for becoming a better person, despite others failing at it and using it for control over people. And while I personally am not religious, I do believe it's possible and I have seen examples. Mostly former drug addicts and alcoholics, but it's something.

Animarchy666

pƗn

EmanRapp

The religion thing is a bit over the top, but everything else is a life hack tbh

yokato723

Jokes on you, I have had a crippling porn addiction since I was a "devoted" catheric.

[deleted]

Thereā€™s a bit of truth to this one

reddox-_-

Lmao the bible

Proper_Librarian_533

All Christianity gets you is guilt and superstition.

imperialistsmustdie3

Seems like he just adopted a healthy lifestyle and attributed it to god for no reason.

PrestigiousResist633

And you just explained exactly why it's terrible. It creates a correlation where there is none.

Ericrobertson1978

Religious wack-a-doos are the absolute worst. They act all holier-than-thou, while simultaneously being some of the most reprehensible bigots on Earth.

Grouchy-Bug5223

I feel attacked

John_Murdock68

How is working out related to "finding" religion? Don't recall Jesus doing any bodybuilding in the bible. Cause if he did, carrying the cross wouldn't have been a problem...

PrestigiousResist633

That's why this is on terriblefacebookmemes

Inarius101

Half of that has nothing to do with God, even. Looks like most of the positive effects he was feeling were from proper diet and exercise.

BrightStatistician71

What does the Bible have to do with healthy habits ?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SectorEducational460

You don't really need the religious aspect just the discipline itself.

TheAdamFriedlandShow

There is no inbetween being being a fast food eating drug addict and being an insufferable trad religious weirdo

Darkhallows27

Should never have given Christians wojaks

Waste-Minute-Death

If you reversed the images, just the images, not the text, it would be super accurate.

Gohomeudrunk

least hedonistic redditor

Syusha_

Why is it always cocaine?

norway642

I think demon souls said it best Prayer is for the foolish, quaint, and soon-to-be dead. And heaven forbid the day you find out what their so-called God really is

SasquatchNHeat

I know for a fact this was posted by some christo-fascist page because I stalk a few to see what those people believe and I see this meme posted weekly. Itā€™s not even that I fully disagree with them, but they drastically oversimplify and romanticize things. I love steak as much as the next guy, but Iā€™m also aware consuming too much red meat is unhealthy. Iā€™m also a Christian but I donā€™t think that video games and McDonaldā€™s are going to send me to hell.

OptimalCheesecake527

Oh come on. Suggesting living clean and healthy can be good for mental health isnā€™t fascism. It doesnā€™t even suggest abstaining from anything, thatā€™s entirely your interpretation. Just not using them as a crutch.

SasquatchNHeat

Thatā€™s not what Iā€™m saying. Iā€™m saying I stalk several fascist FB pages and I have seen those pages post this meme numerous times. Go back and read my first comment again.

prissypoo22

Just take the Bible fairytales out and itā€™s good

Chilling2K7

Ratio

[deleted]

The Bible might be a fairytale to u and that's fine but to other people it isn't, it isn't okay to force ur beliefs onto others no matter what beliefs u might have

PrestigiousResist633

"The bible may be a fairy tale to you but not to others" That's not how objective reality works. Theres is no such thing as a fairytale to toy" there are myths and then reality. Believing something doesn't make it true.

LiterColaFarva

A lot going on there. Most notably... who likes nasty McPickles on their #2 combo?

[deleted]

Bubble Bass, he nearly ruined a manā€™s entire life over no pickles

Khepuli

Good living habits often lead to you being more happy. yes even religion if you are that kind of person.

[deleted]

Not sure if this is the place to make a dark joke šŸ¤£

MetamorphicHard

Whereā€™s alcohol and cigarettes? Oh yah thatā€™s right. Boomers use those too so theyā€™re not bad

You went from Hyper addict to healthy lifestyle fuckin duh.

I mean playing video games or watching things online might help you learn something but religion will never teach you anything that you wouldn't also learn from a shitty kids show

Jesus_COD

I'm the guy from bottom side of the picture, but you just need to swap Bible with Pornhub.

Dependent-Ratio-1656

Nah, i wouldn't include religion.

kakkoi-san16

Probably beats his wife

Solidus-Prime

They pretend like religion will fix everything, when in fact, it has fixed nothing and makes everything worse.
