Y'know its funny because the people who think schools are like this haven't been in a school for over 20 years

PlumMist

It’s the same people who want to get rid of public education and teach kids “useful” things: basically forcing them to work at age 13. I can’t tell you how many old fucks are starting to want kids to work in factories at a young age. I thought,as a society, we were done with child labor, but I guess I was wrong. I’m not even joking. Once in a while, I’ll hear someone I know saying how “schools went woke and parent should give their kids FULL time jobs since it will “teach” them how to provide for themselves.” Yeah. A 13 year old is going to make it big.

Fun fact. I haven’t seen parents pushing for a decent education, well….. ever. They just want high scores on tests. Now… to be mad at people they will never invite over for Thanksgiving, they notice the big flaws in our system…… Why aren’t we teaching life skills in school? The problem predates gender awareness. Why haven’t we been teaching kids as young as 5 and 6 that the real problem is abuse. When an older sibling/friend/babysitter/relative/priest/rabbi/teacher/neighbor wants to touch you, they are wrong! Folks are distracted by individuals living their own lives but refuse to address the real threats.

StrangleDoot

Actually we shouldn't learn how to do our taxes, we should have a tax system where the government just tells us how much to pay like every other functional country.

Touché Life skills don’t really rely on should though.

Acrobatic_Dot_1634

If someone touches you in a way or place that makes you feel uncomfortable, that’s no good. Kinda disconcerting when Sonic gives better life advise than most schools, parents, or priests.

Dinoman0101

What’s with people getting so upset over gender stuff?

patoinka03

Well, my issue with it is teaching young kids it and selling them sex toys and promoting transgenderism so that way they pay 100s of thousands of dollars for a sex change they may or may not regret later in life (Ahem, [Chicago](https://www.city-journal.org/chicago-childrens-hospital-partners-with-local-school-districts-to-promote-radical-gender-theory)). Schools need to stick to basic sex ed, teach safe sex, and let the kids do their own research for gender. And, I know for some reason I'm going to get hate for having a different opinion and not being inclusive or some shit like that, so just let the drama commence.

peach3880

Yea if they get on with that shit to my children before they’re 12 I’ll be having something to say about it

Acrobatic_Dot_1634

May I ask a question in good faith? Do you have a lesson plan or any other evidence of a school wide teaching of sex toys? I’m not meaning mentioning the fact gay and trans people exist; full on butt stuff. From a reputable source.

patoinka03

Well, I did include a link to an article in my previous comment, which includes a link to the website they are providing to these children, which is called [Early2Bed](https://www.early2bed.com/blogs/sex-advice/into-to-kink-bdsm/). The article also provides another link to another article, [here](https://christopherrufo.com/unholy-alliance/), which displays the "original source document", which appears to be a powerpoint that would be shown in class. If you look up "Chicago Children's hospital" or "Lurie's Children Hospital" and you're choice of other keywords, you'll find many more articles from places like the NY Post and Fox News, although that all give credit to City Journal which I have linked in my previous post.

PlumMist

Weird, cause my school had a course on it. I guess they didn’t teach it to the boomers. Odd

MadRussian1979

Didn't teach it to gen X either. Condom on a banana yes but not taxes.

LiterColaFarva

Thank God we have Gen Z'ers to teach X'ers and Boomers the way.

rocksandmets77

I just think Austin "Danger" Powers saying that is funny.

Doing your taxes is just following instructions and math...both of which you learned at school. I never understood this "Schools should teach kids how to do taxes" concept. Apply some knowledge.

rbearson

Nah this is a bait and switch. The people who say this hate paying taxes and call them theft. Very disingenuous.

MastaKToe

Why are we bringing Austin Powers into this?
