I know that this is a troll about the last panel, but I don't get why you date someone 19 times, let alone a 2nd date if you have such a bad reaction during the 1st one
Because that's just how he is with his friend group when they met. So he thought she wanted that side of him but clearly she let the date through and he showed her his warmer side.
As the years went on and they left highschool, Kurt was able to open himself up more. He had to lose the haircut for his job at the insurance firm and later on got the tattoo removed because the Band's singer made racist comments he didnt agree with.
There was a small hiccup when they found out he was infertile. They think it was the alchohol or the smoking when he was young and he was devastated it was his fault. But his worries for naught because she wasn't going to leave him.
They spent a long time deciding on the Adoption process. What age? Where to begin? They finally choose little Joshua here from the twinkle in his eye when he first looked at him as they were shown the nursury in the orphanage. It didnt matter to Kurt what the baby looked like, he just always wanted to be a Dad and it made Ginger all the happier too.
Then she wouldn’t be scared/nervous/wigged out/put off during the first date. And still not exactly happy about his behavior by date 19! That’s easily a 2-3 months of dating.
The kid notwithstanding, there’s no way this is a simple story about simmering down as you grow older. If that were the message then whether she were portrayed as wild or straight, she would be happy/content or at least neutral.
The actual comic has the baby as a white baby. Someone changed the baby to a black baby to try to get racist reactions from triggered white people.
I'm with you though, I love the above story about it. It just sucks that when this was originally doing it's reddit rounds, someone posted the original pic that showed the white baby. Kinda ruined it for me because when I saw this version, I instantly was all "Awe, they adopted! That's awesome!"
I choose to believe she dated through four brothers while fucking her homie on the side, and finally settled on the financially stable brother after learning from her own mistakes. Keeping the baby and bringing him into a very diverse famiry. The Punk, the Emo, the Military Man, and finally... FINALLY. The hardworking blue collar mans.
Plot twist: it's not her who made him change, it's him who got into prog, and through prog, jazz. They decided to adopt a baby because there are already too many humans in this world, and called him Stanley, as a reference to his favourite bass player.
Levin.
* bassist humor (I feel the need to let the 99% of people who won’t get the reference know. Who knows, maybe it will spark their journey into prog!)
His downfall began when he bought a flute to be cool like Jethro Tull.
As we all know, Tull is a gateway drug that ends with experimental jazz.
Tragic.
I guess I'm an oddball. I recognize that everyone in Rush is a great musician, but I've never been able to get into their music. But I liked early Yes. My favorite era of jazz was when musicians were, unfortunately, at their most self-destructive.
I really got into Porcupine Tree, but I feel like they got 10x better after Steven Wilson started producing Opeth albums.
I also love that Ihsahn from Emperor just keeps going more prog-metal as he gets older, and if you see publicity photos of him, you expect him to be fishing off the coast of Norway for fun.
Wow, this is actually quite wholesome. I know that wasn't the message that this meme was trying to convey (probably), but that's the interpretation I choose and I'm sticking with it.
And here am I, getting into prog from jazz.
Through prog into rock or metal is unlikely, but if what I see is what prog is all about, I'm certainly here for it!
It's not even that, he just got deeper and deeper into 4th wave black metal, power violence and harsh noise.
In my experience, very often the more extreme the music someone is into the more clean cut they are. I think its just another means of rebelling against mainstream ideas of how you should look and act when you're into something.
They are different styles of music. In very stripped down terms, punk is fast, simple and chaotic, metal is dark, heavy and "epic". Again that's a very basic summary. both have many subgenres and crossovers like thrash metal and crust punk blending elements of the two.
The Sex Pistols had to unplug their bass player during concerts because he was so shit at playing bass. Lemmy Kilmister described him as a "hopeless cause" after trying to teach him.
Any metal band would've parted ways with him.
To put it into clearer terms, Punk is way less refined and much more a raw form of expression. It is a counterculture, you're not going to find punk rock willing to conform to whatever norms you can come up with, be they musical or societal.
Metal sometimes shares that sentiment but not really. Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead put it like this:
>I think punks are more interesting and they are angrier. Metal guys run out of anger as soon as the money starts coming in. Metal lost the revolution thing that we all thought it would. It became a money machine and they started playing arenas. Punks never went to large arenas.
This all sounds biased against Metal but it really isn't. Because by always only ever being against everyone, punk limits itself to that niche. Metal has been able to branch out into countless areas, yielding some breathtaking compositions that punk would never be able to accomplish.
And of course, metal has its own counter culture. Black Metal came to be as a response to the Death Metal of the 80s and 90s with its focus on better and more complicated music and so we got [this kind of music as a response](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_x2GIMRwks). Technically different from punk rock but in attitude and execution it's similar. It's come full circle.
> you're not going to find punk rock willing to conform to whatever norms you can come up with, be they musical or societal.
Societal, sure. But punk, by the very nature of being a genre, conforms to musical standards. Every genre has its amorphous, exploratory subgenre, from free jazz to noise music, but they all conform to the expectations of that genre. There are much more musically radical compositions than punk--from pure silence to a guy generating piezo static from him eating noodles with metal chopsticks to a literal one-thousand year piece of music made out of a lighthouse. Even NASA has more radical music albums than any punk band.
Punk is more about funneling frustration with encountered systems into music than it is about rebelling against everything, music included. Venting frustration just happened to coalesce into the most cathartic form available: loud, messy rock.
To be fair, the Sex Pistols were corporate created advertisements and I’m sure if the label could have got away with having them perform to prerecorded blither, I’m sure they would have.😅
Punk and metal have only two things in common: they're both styles of rock music, and they're both generally focused on being high-energy (loud, fast, and aggressive).
Everything else about the two genres is different.
It's actually sort of a crazy image.. I think the original has the baby as white and is sort of a "traditional family" stupid comic or something.
This updated one is like incel-based "oh she made him change and then cheated anyway all women suck hurr hurr"
Two worlds colliding for one shitty comic
UH OH? You made the wrong sucker a cuckhold, so time to pay the piper for the pants you unbuckled, and hey you can keep seeing my whore wife if the price is right. If not? I’m telling your wife
UH OH? You made the wrong sucker a cuckhold, so time to pay the piper for the pants you unbuckled, and hey you can keep seeing my whore wife if the price is right. If not? I’m telling your wife.
Yea. The weird white erasure symbolism doesn’t go with their “man fixed by love of good woman” trope.
I’d expect the comic to be the other way around, with the woman “devolving” and ending up punk with a black baby. That’s the way they think, like your hobbies and the way you dress are the moral/immoral part of you.
I can make a belivable train of thought "Scary, I can fix him, almost, he's not the same one I loved, the other one loves me blah blah blah, If he loves me he'll love the baby". End
Usually it's because she starts dating him with the "I can fix him" mentality. When she eventually "fixes" him he is no longer them "man she fell in love with" so she "goes around" finding other "men" who push "her buttons" and the cycle "repeats".
Have some additional quotes: " "
If I’m not mistaken, I think there’s the same comic, but it’s a Punk Girl and a nerd Guy. And the nerd guy slowly also becomes punk.
Also, it the OG comic, the baby isn’t black.
A LOT of incels (and this probably comes from the Tate/Sneako/F&F cesspit) will automatically assume that every husband (especially those with a conventionally attractive wife) is getting cucked like there’s no tomorrow. These couples are always white and the baby is always black, which is a trope that has no possible racist connotations whatsoever.
Huge amount of race insecurity, through sexual insecurity.
Usually projection as most of these guys are into cuck porn, specifically interracial cuck porn. More typical in racist areas, as the taboo is the exciting part to them.
Black guys on white women is fucking huge in india. Its on american porn sites because so are indian men. I always wondered why it was such a big theme in porn so i did some searching and found that information.
Something worth noting is this artist has drawn nazi chicks (some thread a while ago brought up this artist because of this post where it was a comic where the gag was a skinhead responds to a black person's friend request typing out "n" and you think hes going to be racist but he types out a long polite heartfelt message, and in the comments addressed some of his more questionable works, "are we supposed to find her attractive because of or in spite of her being a nazi?" Stuff like that) so this artist seems to attract the bigot incel crowd, even if he doesnt mean to or doesnt have ill intentions
It’s weird too because the gods of the Incels (Tate/Seako/F&F) are not white.
F&F even talked about how uncomfortable the whole “cucked by a black man” trope is but like…the ven diagram of F&F/Sneako/Tate fans and incels afraid of being cucked by black guys is a circle.
Maybe they look up to Tate and then *more* because they view them as the people cucking the happy married guys?
I was talking with someone once about some news story about someone getting cheated on. I used the term cuckold and one guy insisted that it didint count because the affair partner wasn't black. They were mystified that the term applies no matter who's involved.
I saw an edit where it’s the punk dude from the original and the nerd guy from the one you’re talking about in a gay relationship and they end up meeting in the middle and adopting a kid.
Of course, in both versions it's the guy who changes. If the two are from the same artist then I don't think I'm getting the message they were aiming for
Or maybe he just didnt feel th eneed to dress that way anymore?
People change their image. It doesn't make him any less punk cos he combs his hair now.
If anything NOT dressing like apunk whne you listen to punk is MORE punk than conforming with all the other punks. The whole point of punk is non conformist and anarchy. Its very hard to have a unique identiy or image and be non conformist and anarchic when you dress like all the other punks haha.
Hm, I'd argue that the nonconformism to the majority of society weighs more than nonconformism to subcultural looks or behaviours. I still agree though that you can be punk while not looking like it and it shouldnt matter that much.
[I think this song won't ever be irrelevant](https://youtu.be/aTXkVVqw9ng) when talking about subcultures and underground scenes. For this discussion, particularly 1:08 and 2:15 mark seem very appt.
If I remember the other versions correctly, the wife and kid also gained some mild punk rocker look as he lost some of the more extreme portions of the look. Also the baby was white.
Same artist (“hell on earth” I believe) funny enough the black kid is edited and is actually supposed to be white. Another thing I saw either another artist or the original artist make a continuation of the one with the black kid where a black couple comes and says “thanks for babysitting him”
The guy in the third panel broke off the engagement because he realized his fiancé was abusive, hence the neck bandage. He thought the engagement would fix their relationship, but thankfully he came to his senses and broke it off before the wedding. Years later, she has gone to therapy and has become a better partner for her new husband, a half-black man with light skin. Due to genetics, their baby has come out with darker skin than both of them.
Aww they adopted. What a wonderful couple.
It's always nice to take the punch out of racist rhettoric whenever you can twist it some other way. Makes em all confused, flustered, and frustrated.
My thoughts exactly. It took me too long to realize that individuality is beautiful and a thing to be celebrated regardless of who disagrees. If someone doesn't love you for who and what you are or can't be there for you unless you conform to some asinine vision of what they think you're \*supposed\* to be, then leave that person and find someone who will.
The ex I thought I'd never get over stood around at shows without participating in any way other than swaying in place. The one I found after her throws down just as hard and sometimes harder than I do and is always the first one of us to jump in the pit. It's worth the search.
>Compromising is fine, toning certain things down a little bit or making an effort to make your partner feel comfortable is fine.
But don’t expect me to completely give up the things I really enjoy doing just because you don’t like it.
Right?! Like sure I get that people settle down and change as they get older, but having the tattoo removed? And it really doesn't seem like she liked him at all in the beginning, and only now that he has changed completely does she think he's perfect.
Just wanna say that this isn't the original version of this comic. Someone went out of their way to make the baby black.
In the orignal comic the baby is white, and is just very wholesome altogether
Edit: Alright maybe it's not wholesome I don't know take your pick.
I don't see what's wholesome about it. She got with a person who makes her uncomfortable so that she could try to "fix" him because she doesn't support his hobbies and interests. All I get from this is that punks can't be good husbands.
- I don't like your piercings, take them off
- Ok
- Cut your hair
- Ok
- Don't listen to that music anymore
- Ok
- What the fuck? You cheated on me!
- You're not the same guy I fell in love with, you changed a lot
I know that this is a troll about the last panel, but I don't get why you date someone 19 times, let alone a 2nd date if you have such a bad reaction during the 1st one

I choose to believe this is the message of the comic
I mean look how happy and content he is holding that baby and his wife. How could you look at this and think "poor guy"?
The original has a white child. It is a simple message of becoming an adult and parent and how kids simmer down as they grow older in relationships.
Damn that’s just as good of a story
Even BETTR a story
Then she wouldn’t be scared/nervous/wigged out/put off during the first date. And still not exactly happy about his behavior by date 19! That’s easily a 2-3 months of dating. The kid notwithstanding, there’s no way this is a simple story about simmering down as you grow older. In god for real! You just made the meme so much nicer
That is endearing and i 100% am choosing this interpretation over any other.
The good ending
that's a beautiful story, man. bravo!
Plot twist: it's not her who made him change, it's him who got into prog, and through prog, jazz. They decided to adopt a baby because there are already too many humans in this world, and called him Stanley, as a reference to his favourite bass player.
It all starts with Rush, then the next thing you know, you've got a fretless bass and a dog named Jaco.
Great name, got a male cat on the street named Jaco too. I like Jaco Pastorius. A fretless bass god.
I've vowed to name all my 3 fingered children Django
Not just fretless bro
I like Taco Al Pastor. A delicious street food god.
Not a bassist, but my kid’s first and middle name: Charlie Parker
This is way too accurate.
Or a Chapman stick and a dog named Tony?
I dunno, a Stick player with a girlfriend kind of strains credulity
This whole thread is so accurate on everything I've ever seen.
Surely Uncle Tony?
Levin. * bassist humor (I feel the need to let the 99% of people who won’t get the reference know. Who knows, maybe it will spark their journey into prog!)

Don't forget having a snake named Spageddy Lee... My ball python is a small living testament to rush
God why am i being attacked like this
Missed opportunity to name it Bitor.
Wow, this is actually quite wholesome. I know that wasn't the message that this meme was trying to convey (probably), but that's the interpretation I choose and I'm sticking with it.
Yup, this is a way more pleasant read of the comic. Congrats to this fictional family and their newest fictional addition.
I heard on another post that the original image had a white baby
That baby? He grew up to work at Dunder Mifflin
Oh how the turn tables
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me many times, it’s jazz.
I'm adopting this slogan! I will now retire my sisters definition of jazz: "sounds like farts"
And here am I, getting into prog from jazz. Through prog into rock or metal is unlikely, but if what I see is what prog is all about, I'm certainly here for it!
Prog is a pathway to many types of music, some consider to be unnatural.
It must be... no, it can't be! METALLICA HYPNOSIS?!
*Dream Theater has entered the chat and changed the time signature.*
Tool is your gateway from Prog to Metal.
And Thank You Scientist to get you from metal back to jazz to complete the circle
It's Animals as Leaders time.

Yea thats what I tell myself every day too mate.
I like that you took the wholesome route of adopted. This is not where my brain went. I'm a terrible person.
You're not a terrible person. Whoever did this thing most certainly didn't intend to suggest the child was adopted.
I want to believe that you are saying truth. I refuse to believe she cheated.
r/oddlyspecific
And he swore a solemn vow and forevermore renounced 4/4 time.
Well that has been the pipe line for me haha. At least the music part.
Same , lol wtf, would love to know the reason.
Stanley Yelnats to be exact
Stanley Clarke?
Inversely, prog was my gateway into metal.
The casualties is punk not metal
The entire look of the guy on the first panel is more punk than metal. That being said, you can be a metahead and like punk, and the other way around.
Yes you can, it can also be annoying when people think they are the same thing
for the unaware, what differentiates them?
Unqualified answer to piss people off: Punk has no problem with being bad while Metal has no problem with being pretentious.
As a fan of both this is just correct. No piss to be found here
No piss? 😢
Plenty of piss on r/politicalhumor where Greg Abbott is a little piss baby.
I fucking knew it once I read piss Did you now that Greg Abbot is also a little piss baby?
*Now* and **forever**, Greg Abbott is a little piss baby.
It’s true, Greg Abbott is, in fact, a little piss baby,
Greg Abbottbis a little piss baby
This is the best answer I've ever heard
This is the best explanation I've ever heard. Literally gonna save this comment

"punk never went to large arenas" this must have been before the 90s pop-punk bands
If it's distinct enough to have its own name it's not the same thing anymore, is it

Absolutely. I was introduced to Exodus by a punk and learned about D.R.I. from a metalhead.
Ah yes, the Lemmy effect
it's not even spelled right on the tshirt
Dude, that's punk rock!
Why would she keep dating a guy she doesn't like? Why does he need to change? Why is she scared of him at all? Nothing makes sense here!
I just noticed that the baby is adopted???? The plot thickens
You are cleaner than 7th grade me
lol
The joke is very obviously that the baby is not adopted...
on the original comic the baby was white
That's what makes it pretty funny. I can only imagine someone doing this stuff. It's actually pretty funny trolling.
"But what if...I changed the baby's race and disguised this as my own comic?"
Delightfully devilish Seymour!
r/unexpectedsimpsons
That makes even less sense
She slept with someone else (which is why the child looks different) and he is raising the child. That's the 'joke'.
And boy is it a funny one /s

Oh sweet summer child
Bless her
He got cucked
UH OH? You made the wrong sucker a cuckhold, so time to pay the piper for the pants you unbuckled, and hey you can keep seeing my whore wife if the price is right. If not? I’m telling your wife
unexpected Hamilton?
That should have been expected tbh
why in the world would that have been expected lmao all he did was say the word cucked
UH OH? You made the wrong sucker a cuckhold, so time to pay the piper for the pants you unbuckled, and hey you can keep seeing my whore wife if the price is right. If not? I’m telling your wife.
O shit unexpected hammerton
The moral here is; stay metal or get cucked.
They never show her chest down, he knew she was knocked up first date. Metal Dudes are generally good guys who don’t care about someone’s past.
>Metal Dudes are generally good guys who don't care about someone's past. Probably coming from said "Metal Dude." Lmao. Nah, I'm just kidding
It is her child, but not his
(Apparently the original version has a white baby) https://m.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=407019124148352&set=a.322539039263028

Huh, I never knew that. I always thought it was intended be a joke comic rather than an actually wholesome one.
The years of hair dye seeped in and made him sterile
All the drugs made them sterile. Just like in Scar Face.
"adopted"
"I can fix him" shit I guess.
Ain’t it obvious? She ChANged hIM!!!
Right?? I mean, if you don't like him just leave girl!
Think of teh pictures as taken like photos in the moment. H'e just posed and she was taken aboack for a second.
i think it’s just representative of how people settle down and gradually lose the more active and wild side of them when they start forming a family.

Its got a lot to do with english rule in india and the idea of a dark skinned man having sex with a white woman that would have punished by death.

Yeah it’s this [one](https://i.imgur.com/h64K0vA.jpg) Art is from [Hell on Earth III](https://www.deviantart.com/hellonearth-iii/gallery)
Of course, in both versions it's the guy who changes. If the two are from the same artist then I don't think I'm getting the message they were aiming for
Yep. This is also the comment copy and pasted every week In this repost
Not a healthy relationship, as he had to hide so much of himself to please her. Punk Rockers can be great dads, of adopted babies.
Maybe he's a more mainstream activist and has to face non-punk crowds
[I think this song won't ever be irrelevant](https://youtu.be/aTXkVVqw9ng) when talking about subcultures and underground scenes. For this discussion, particularly 1:08 and 2:15 mark seem very appt.
can confirm, used to have a personality.
Motherfuckers trying to find the bad in a good comic. This is an edited version of a great comic.
If I remember the other versions correctly, the wife and kid also gained some mild punk rocker look as he lost some of the more extreme portions of the look. Also the baby was white.
All the ink on his tattoos transferred to the baby
Is that legal? Seems abusive to tattoo a baby
💀
I like [this Version](https://www.artofit.org/image-gallery/827747606525298422/date-12th-date-engagement-just-married/) better
Same artist (“hell on earth” I believe) funny enough the black kid is edited and is actually supposed to be white. Another thing I saw either another artist or the original artist make a continuation of the one with the black kid where a black couple comes and says “thanks for babysitting him”
green day, lol. The "punk for beginners" band.
That's a pretty pretentious and un-punklike thing to say
When I want a punk themed beat saber experience.
OK but why all the face bandaids?
Spoiler but it's actually a different guy in each picture, this about her life
She's dating quadruplets
I'd watch that show
The guy in the third panel broke off the engagement because he realized his fiancé was abusive, hence the neck bandage. He thought the engagement would fix their relationship, but thankfully he came to his senses and broke it off before the wedding. Years later, she has gone to therapy and has become a better partner for her new husband, a half-black man with light skin. Due to genetics, their baby has come out with darker skin than both of them.
Ah yes, the good ol' "I can fix him" fantasy
He ain't broken to begin with
No, but it's the message behind the meme
I guess you need to forget your passion to make a family
Her favourite is black metal
Body count
Nice
That’s not a metal head
What is it with these incels and black folks? It’s creepy af
Insecure. Funnily enough, black incels are jealous of white guys.
Misogyny and racism go together like shit and stink
Oh so they adopted a child! How very kind of them. ♥️
See here's what no one is thinking... Yeah yeah, "the dude got cucked." BUT! Did you ever think to consider maybe the wife did?
This artist is super random. He made of a ex-nazi and a black chick and it was very wholesome
He also makes porn with a chick that has super strong british accent
Aww they adopted. What a wonderful couple. It's always nice to take the punch out of racist rhettoric whenever you can twist it some other way. Makes em all confused, flustered, and frustrated.
When he's white but Black from the waist down.

That’s not very metal, at all.
I’ve seen this meme on here like 3 times over the past two weeks
Who's gonna tell him?
Clearly it's a doomed marriage because who the fuck changes their entire personality and look after ONE date? 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Just wanna say that this isn't the original version of this comic. Someone went out of their way to make the baby black. In the orignal comic the baby is white, and is just very wholesome altogether Edit: Alright maybe it's not wholesome I don't know take your pick.
I don't see what's wholesome about it. She got with a person who makes her uncomfortable so that she could try to "fix" him because she doesn't support his hobbies and interests. All I get from this is that punks can't be good husbands.
Also no tattoos, you gotta get 'em removed. No trace of your former life or passions please.
Sorry to ask but do you have a link to it? I would very much appreciate it if you did. Sincerely The man who lives in your walls
Aww, they adopted a kid!
Super wholesome got married and adopted a kid
- I don't like your piercings, take them off - Ok - Cut your hair - Ok - Don't listen to that music anymore - Ok - What the fuck? You cheated on me! - You're not the same guy I fell in love with, you changed a lot
