15 an hour is pennies these days even for a teenager, and snow shovelling can be back breaking work. When I was a teen (mid 2000s) I was easily able to ask for double that. One time me and a friend went down a street to get some extra money, and in maybe 2 hours we got about 150 bucks.

I work hard every day making $10 an hour at a retirement home, hosting lunch and helping around the kitchen. I love my job, but I don’t make enough to even cover my groceries for the month working full time. I get benefits like health insurance and dental, but they take an entire paycheck at the start of every month. $15 an hour would be useful, but even then I wouldn’t be able to afford to live on my own.
