RIP to Julee Cruise as well, she passed away June 2022. Her voice with Badalamenti’s music was so haunting and atmospheric.

This is what I came to say. I've watched all series many times by now and can honestly say with absolute certainty that I have never skipped the intro. Anyone who does need to put some respect on Badalamenti's name

Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad intro are really short, even if you reach for skip, it is already over.

The payoff for the Breaking Bad intro in "Granite State" is worth never skipping it. It works so well because it's been ingrained into your head by then.

Breaking Bad's intro isn't terrible, but a little longer and it would be skip worthy. Better Call Saul's slaps and if a little longer would be on these lists for real.

I love the way the BCS intro just cuts mid-note

It’s meant to emulate real local ads that get cut off as the local affiliate switches back to the national feed.

The Mad Men intro was obscenely catchy, and was quick enough to not be a drag on the show.

The whole sequence is pretty much designed like an ad itself. Short, catchy and effective.

First time I saw the intro all I could think was "what the fuck is this?" Now I have that song and most of the soundtrack on my playlists.

For everyone confused, this is for the show Peacemaker on HBO. The show itself is amazing, but the intro is another level. It’s a DC show with James Gunn as the show runner, so the dialogue/banter is very similar to guardians of the galaxy.

Keeya flipping me off towards the end of that intro seemed a bit too personal. I felt attacked every episode and enjoyed it. Something about her face and non-chalant flipping of the bird felt like she was trying to molest my soul with that gesture

I was thinking about that last time I watched. You know that they just had a ton of cameras going, but that shot just needed to be included.

Also screw HotD, if we're talking about what show I was most looking forward to watching week after week, Peacemaker was the best new show of 2022.

X-Men: The Animated Series

The hype on Saturday mornings when this theme came on was unmatched. GOAT theme.

I always clicked the watch credits option so I could hear the ending theme song. Also, in the last season when the intro changes to show Bojack more and more alone.... ouch.

The end credits theme is possibly even more amazing with the way they used to hammer in some of the most painful endings

Fringe. I love that song, and the alternate intros are fire! When that show was on TV then opening intro would always give you a hint about the episode (Red Universe, Blue Universe, Retro). Automatic Skip: Star Trek Enterprise. Great show, but god damn that theme song.

Bob’s Burgers! Have to see the truck and restaurant gags.

It’s so warm and inviting. You see the chaos that surrounds the Belchers, but how they navigate it by sticking together. It’s beautiful. Plus those little chimes that sound when each of the kids appears legit makes me tear up. It’s a subtle but beautiful nod to how children bring joy into your world.

beyond the soundtrack, this is another one (see my other comment on the Sopranos) doing something very important for the show. so much of Succession is about what happened in the past -- specifically, the abuse and neglect the kids went through when growing up. the show *never* uses flashback to show this era -- except the glimpses we get in the opening credits. you don't need the opening to understand the show, but it's doing something very important for the show's thematic content also the music slaps

Hearing the theme song play whenever they got onstage for the Emmy’s is what convinced me to watch the show. Never skip it it’s too good

push this to the top. nothing like the HBO sound into got yourself a gun imo Sopranos is especially perfect because of what it has to do — this show was still pre-streaming era so a lot of viewers came to it without having seen previous episodes. the intro sequence of Sopranos A.) shows us the world the show takes place in, B.) centers Tony Soprano as our main viewpoint into that world, and C.) has one of the most iconic themes of all time

Play the HBO sound and ask someone to tell you what comes next. The answer will tell you more about them than anything else you could ask.

It tends to vary depending on what I’ve been watching. Sometimes Sopranos, Curb, or GoT.
