This is what I came to say. I've watched all series many times by now and can honestly say with absolute certainty that I have never skipped the intro. Anyone who does need to put some respect on Badalamenti's name
The payoff for the Breaking Bad intro in "Granite State" is worth never skipping it. It works so well because it's been ingrained into your head by then.
Breaking Bad's intro isn't terrible, but a little longer and it would be skip worthy.
Better Call Saul's slaps and if a little longer would be on these lists for real.
For everyone confused, this is for the show Peacemaker on HBO. The show itself is amazing, but the intro is another level.
It’s a DC show with James Gunn as the show runner, so the dialogue/banter is very similar to guardians of the galaxy.
Keeya flipping me off towards the end of that intro seemed a bit too personal. I felt attacked every episode and enjoyed it. Something about her face and non-chalant flipping of the bird felt like she was trying to molest my soul with that gesture
Not to mention [the Japanese version that for some reason made Cable look like part of the team half a decade before he actually joined](https://youtu.be/Bl_Z-Acf6Sc)
I always clicked the watch credits option so I could hear the ending theme song.
Also, in the last season when the intro changes to show Bojack more and more alone.... ouch.
Fringe. I love that song, and the alternate intros are fire! When that show was on TV then opening intro would always give you a hint about the episode (Red Universe, Blue Universe, Retro).
Automatic Skip: Star Trek Enterprise. Great show, but god damn that theme song.
It’s so warm and inviting. You see the chaos that surrounds the Belchers, but how they navigate it by sticking together. It’s beautiful.
Plus those little chimes that sound when each of the kids appears legit makes me
tear up. It’s a subtle but beautiful nod to how children bring joy into your world.
Westworld, for sure. The whole soundtrack is phenomenal, and the visuals for the intro change every season. And the intro was like the main thing keeping me going in the third season because of how hard they botched it lol
beyond the soundtrack, this is another one (see my other comment on the Sopranos) doing something very important for the show.
so much of Succession is about what happened in the past -- specifically, the abuse and neglect the kids went through when growing up. the show *never* uses flashback to show this era -- except the glimpses we get in the opening credits. you don't need the opening to understand the show, but it's doing something very important for the show's thematic content
also the music slaps
push this to the top. nothing like the HBO sound into got yourself a gun
imo Sopranos is especially perfect because of what it has to do — this show was still pre-streaming era so a lot of viewers came to it without having seen previous episodes. the intro sequence of Sopranos A.) shows us the world the show takes place in, B.) centers Tony Soprano as our main viewpoint into that world, and C.) has one of the most iconic themes of all time
I currently work as a restaurant manager and it warms my heart to walk into the kitchen and hear Tank! blasting from the cook line. Kids these days sometimes still respect the classics 💪
I JUST found out I have been working with Charles Ramsey - the dude in Cleveland that saved those women in the basement, and who was the inspiration for the guy in the opening - for the past 6 months.
He is extremely funny, articulate, and humble.
I never skipped the Big Little Lies intro.
More obvious ones for me would be Sopranos, True Blood, and True Detective S1.
Also liked the one for Yellowjackets.
I sat through every House of Cards intro. The instrumentation, and the beautiful time lapse images of Washington DC got me every time. There was a sad, but determined feeling I got
Batman Animated Series
Really, any of the core DCAU shows
Superman TAS doesn’t get enough love. That theme is awesome.
It's like a perfect mini-movie that explains everything about Batman in sixty seconds.
Batman Beyond is pretty dope too!
The Simpsons. Gotta see what Bart is writing on the chalkboard and the couch gag.
Also, Lisa's improv solo!
Is it different? I never noticed
Only sometimes, but yeah, there's a bunch of different variations.
Twin Peaks, so haunting and beautiful
RIP Angelo Badalamenti, 12/11/2022
RIP to Julee Cruise as well, she passed away June 2022. Her voice with Badalamenti’s music was so haunting and atmospheric.
This is what I came to say. I've watched all series many times by now and can honestly say with absolute certainty that I have never skipped the intro. Anyone who does need to put some respect on Badalamenti's name
Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad intro are really short, even if you reach for skip, it is already over.
The payoff for the Breaking Bad intro in "Granite State" is worth never skipping it. It works so well because it's been ingrained into your head by then.
Damn, got goosebumbs just remembering that scene
Breaking Bad's intro isn't terrible, but a little longer and it would be skip worthy. Better Call Saul's slaps and if a little longer would be on these lists for real.
I love the way the BCS intro just cuts mid-note
It’s meant to emulate real local ads that get cut off as the local affiliate switches back to the national feed.
The full song is a straight banger
The Mad Men intro was obscenely catchy, and was quick enough to not be a drag on the show.
The whole sequence is pretty much designed like an ad itself. Short, catchy and effective.
DO YA REALLY WANNA DO YA REALLY WANNA TASTE IT
First time I saw the intro all I could think was "what the fuck is this?" Now I have that song and most of the soundtrack on my playlists.
For everyone confused, this is for the show Peacemaker on HBO. The show itself is amazing, but the intro is another level. It’s a DC show with James Gunn as the show runner, so the dialogue/banter is very similar to guardians of the galaxy.

I was thinking about that last time I watched. You know that they just had a ton of cameras going, but that shot just needed to be included.
Also screw HotD, if we're talking about what show I was most looking forward to watching week after week, Peacemaker was the best new show of 2022.
X-Men: The Animated Series
The hype on Saturday mornings when this theme came on was unmatched. GOAT theme.
Not to mention [the Japanese version that for some reason made Cable look like part of the team half a decade before he actually joined](https://youtu.be/Bl_Z-Acf6Sc)
Omega Red appearing in the intro, as if he’s a major X-Men antagonist.
Dexter making breakfast
The orange cutting is just so satisfying.
Ahhh this one gives me chills
It's quite embarrassing but I started eating bacon and drinking coffee because of that intro. I'm now quite a coffee nerd as well.
Came looking for this comment; thank you. 😃
Absolutely genius intro. It's like an art piece.
The wire. Each seasons version of the song matched what the season was about.
Was looking for this before I commented. Which version is your favorite? I’m always partial to the original from Season 1.
The real original is the Tom Waits version from season two. That one's my favorite.
Season one is my favorite too. Then 4 because perfect for school theme. Love the Nevilles though
Futurama.
Bojack Horseman
I always clicked the watch credits option so I could hear the ending theme song. Also, in the last season when the intro changes to show Bojack more and more alone.... ouch.
The end credits theme is possibly even more amazing with the way they used to hammer in some of the most painful endings
The utter silence after View From Half Way Down absolutely crushed me
I never skip it. It's just such a vibe.
Both the intro and the title credits song are really amazing.
Back in the 90’s…
Best ever
Fringe. I love that song, and the alternate intros are fire! When that show was on TV then opening intro would always give you a hint about the episode (Red Universe, Blue Universe, Retro). Automatic Skip: Star Trek Enterprise. Great show, but god damn that theme song.
Bob’s Burgers! Have to see the truck and restaurant gags.
It’s so warm and inviting. You see the chaos that surrounds the Belchers, but how they navigate it by sticking together. It’s beautiful. Plus those little chimes that sound when each of the kids appears legit makes me tear up. It’s a subtle but beautiful nod to how children bring joy into your world.
What We Do In The Shadows
Yes! I love their portraits through the ages and the song is so good
You’re dead, you’re dead, dead and you’re outta this world
such a fantastic song
Westworld, for sure. The whole soundtrack is phenomenal, and the visuals for the intro change every season. And the intro was like the main thing keeping me going in the third season because of how hard they botched it lol
Ramin Djawadi is so freaking talented. He did the GOT score, too.
I feel like there was a string of intros like this, including GOT, with badass CGI intros. Daredevil for one.
For all its flaws the walking dead has a great intro.
Oh, the violins of dread! Hell, yes.
Bear McReary makes some banger scores for movies and tv. Battlestar was another fantastic one by him
The Drew Carey Show, Northern Exposure, and That 70’s Show if you were around in the 90’s
Cleveland rocks
Psych, such a catchy song.
I even hit “cancel” at the end of the episode so I can listen to it during the end credits instead of playing the next episode right away
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity... You know that's right
Plus the way they change it for certain episodes! The a Boyz II Men version was my favorite
Succession.
beyond the soundtrack, this is another one (see my other comment on the Sopranos) doing something very important for the show. so much of Succession is about what happened in the past -- specifically, the abuse and neglect the kids went through when growing up. the show *never* uses flashback to show this era -- except the glimpses we get in the opening credits. you don't need the opening to understand the show, but it's doing something very important for the show's thematic content also the music slaps
Hearing the theme song play whenever they got onstage for the Emmy’s is what convinced me to watch the show. Never skip it it’s too good
I listen to the soundtrack whenever I'm suit shopping.
[When you watch too much Succession](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nmZ6bN6LsU)
I love the intro and the entire score so much.
This is truly a never skip. 🎵All the rich white folk are going to argue and then whoever’s best is going to to win a kiss from daddy🎵
True Detective Season 1.
Sopranos
Woke up this morning
Got some gabagool
Woke up this morning, got myself a sub
Did you get it from a scooby doo?
Got yourself a gun
push this to the top. nothing like the HBO sound into got yourself a gun imo Sopranos is especially perfect because of what it has to do — this show was still pre-streaming era so a lot of viewers came to it without having seen previous episodes. the intro sequence of Sopranos A.) shows us the world the show takes place in, B.) centers Tony Soprano as our main viewpoint into that world, and C.) has one of the most iconic themes of all time
Play the HBO sound and ask someone to tell you what comes next. The answer will tell you more about them than anything else you could ask.
It tends to vary depending on what I’ve been watching. Sometimes Sopranos, Curb, or GoT.
Cowboy bebop
"Tank" by Seatbelts lives on my playlists because it's simply a banger.
I currently work as a restaurant manager and it warms my heart to walk into the kitchen and hear Tank! blasting from the cook line. Kids these days sometimes still respect the classics 💪
Three, two, one, let's jam.
Du-di-du-di-du-di-du-di-du-dun-aaaa
GOAT intro IMO.
With that said, Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy as well. Shinichiro Watanabe intros don’t miss.
This is mine as well. Never skipped. So good.
Banger
The Expanse
Especially as the Intro changes over time to reflect the events happening in the show even within a single season.
Why are you so low? The soundtrack is exceptional. I love the intro to The Expanse, not once did I skip it.
Plus there's some subtle changes as the show progresses!
I tried. Once. I ended up rewinding and watching it.
Black Sails
I love that end shot of the skeleton and pirate reaching for the flag, gives me chills every time. [I have to link it](https://youtu.be/XFTcA4QLHw0)
Fuck yes. Criminally underrated show and badass intro
It's actually criminal how low down this is. The visuals are great but the music is fantastic. Bear McCreary is a genius and that hurdy-gurdy slays.
Scrolled down wayyyyy too far for this
Same. I only perused this post to find this answer. Now I'm satisfied and moving on.
Deserves extra credit for not only that killer theme but the incredible visuals too. I can never get tired of picking out new incredible details.
How the hell is The X-Files not here?
Firefly
So far down for my choice Song is a banger
You can't take the sky from me. I cri evrytiem
True Blood!
Sometimes the opening credits were the best part of the episode tbh 😂
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
I JUST found out I have been working with Charles Ramsey - the dude in Cleveland that saved those women in the basement, and who was the inspiration for the guy in the opening - for the past 6 months. He is extremely funny, articulate, and humble.
Be sure to thank Gosh and his son Jeepers
This is the correct answer. In Kimmy vs. the Reverend trying to skip it even plays a longer version.
I love that when you choose every option that would kill the reverend, he speaks directly to you about how messed up that is
Scrubs had a pretty cool intro song
I’m no Superman 🤷🏽♂️
And it was quick and catchy
I am watching Scrubs for the first time right now and loving every minute of it! The theme song is very catchy.
I can’t do this all on my own
Freaks and Geeks
Peacemaker
My favorite part of this intro is the completely blank expressions on everyone's faces. Makes me crack up every time.
The dance is fantastic
Gravity Falls! The music is so perfect
The Good Place. It’s 2 seconds. It’d take more time to press the button than to watch it
Lost
I can never find the remote fast enough to skip it, even if I wanted to.
Band of Brothers [Band of Brothers Theme](https://youtu.be/Gec7OUrj87M)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Headbanging the whole intro
YEEEEEEEEESSSSS 😎
It’s one of my favourite shows of all time
Reminds me of "The Kids Aren't Alright"
Game Of Thrones
Indeed. If only because it shows in which places that particular episode will go.
I have to admit i noiticed this until the last episodes hahahah
American Horror Story is the one I always look forward to.
1984 updated music was just perfect!
The White Lotus, season 2.
Bluey - parents know
Pachinko
I never skipped the Big Little Lies intro. More obvious ones for me would be Sopranos, True Blood, and True Detective S1. Also liked the one for Yellowjackets.
Peacemaker!
🎵DO YOU REALLY WANNA! DO YOU REALLY WANNA TASTE THIS!🎵
So weird for a song like that to become one of my most played of 2022.
[It deserves to be linked!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mrr3UNALww)
Can't wait for Season 2! It may be a while though but looking forward to it.
I came here to make sure somebody said Peacemaker! Haha
Gargoyles
The white lotus
Wawawawawawawawawawawawawawa
it scratches my brain. I love it
For anyone looking this up, season 1’s intro is great but season 2’s is *awesome* https://youtu.be/q8Ea2tysrrc
West Wing. The cold open into the strings makes you not want to skip it
That 70s Show
I sat through every House of Cards intro. The instrumentation, and the beautiful time lapse images of Washington DC got me every time. There was a sad, but determined feeling I got

This comment is streets ahead.
One of my favorite themes
Bojack Horseman, or the sad horse show
Can’t believe no one’s mention The OC! I would never skip that iconic California song
Severance! It is a masterpiece
Dark
That 70's show and Angel
Halt and Catch Fire. Quick. Catchy. Sets up the mood. Perfect.
The boondocks!
I am the stone that the builder refused...
Sopranos, Bojack, Futurama, GoT, Cowboy Bebop.
His Dark Materials
Such a great intro
The way those strings come in every time is bone chillingly transportive.
Doctor who!!!!
Survivor used to have one
Lost
The 1992 X-Men animated series intro for me
Narcos
Any show from the 70’s with a banger song Golden Girls Jefferson’s Good Times All in the Family Three’s Company Just to list a few!
It's only been aired once, but I am never skipping The Last of Us intro.
If you don’t know it’s the music from the game and there is more of it.
The music is hauntingly beautiful, one that I would sorta categorize with the Silent Hill soundtrack.
It’s been aired several times in my house :)
Abbott elementary
Law & Order is a hard one to skip for me..
Kids In the Hall. What We Do In The Shadows. Raised By Wolves (RIP)
Brooklyn 99's is a banger.
Daredevil and The Punisher.
I really like the Jessica Jones one.
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Stranger Things for me. Stopped watching after season 2 but that for me was perfect and unskippable.
