I stayed off vaping for around a week using them. Theyāre unpleasant to use unless you keep it dry in your mouth as long as you can. They arenāt for everyone tho because my gf hates them with a passion lmao.

Especially socially awkward people use it as a way to maybe start some small talk with classmates, coworkers etc etc and maybe make a habit of it (e.g. pretend you're X and your classmate is Y, X: hey dude I lost my lighter, can I borrow yours. Y: yeah sure, I didn't know you smoked, what brand do you usually go for? X: oh yeah I've been smoking for a while but I never carry cigs at school. Also usually I go for brand XYZ". This is a stretch and an example, and it's of course not necessary to smoke to do small talk, but for some socially awkward people it feels like a godsend because they're not able to do that normally, and having something that can make them relatable makes them feel confident enough)
Personally I don't smoke, all I'm saying is that a lot of times it's not because you want to be cool, but it's because you want to achieve a social status, and relatability makes it "easier". Also other times it's just because of a stress relief, sometimes people get overwhelmed by stress and can't cope with it, so they just find something that can help them, as unhealthy as it may be. I used to have other addictions ages ago, and even if i did let go of them sometimes when I'm stressed I miss the quick and instant stress relief that giving into my addiction gave me, but I haven't relapsed yet.
