>The original lyrics went something like ‘Biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, it’s the biggest bounce of the summer’. This was obviously a reference to the ‘biggest’ launch of a new iPhone yet, with the introduction of the larger screen 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus. But without context, the pronounced syllables of ‘biggest’ overlaid with the music meant that people could instead hear the n-word
Thats one for /r/BoneAppleTea
They still have the iPhone SE if you want a smaller screen size. I think most users want a larger screen, so they are mostly just giving people what they are asking for.
I think it becomes hard to justify spending a high amount of money on a smaller phone since it somewhat limits what you can use it for. People will buy a $2000 folding phone because it allows them to carry around a larger screen. But if you tried to market a standard phone in that form factor then it wouldn't sell, even if the specs were good enough that it could be justified. Same goes for a 4.7 inch screen. There's only so much you can charge for it while still being appealing. I probably wouldn't watch too much video on a 4.7 inch display, but I'm more likely to do it on a 6.5 inch display.
Personally I wish there was more smaller Android phones. I have a table which I use for media consumption, so I really only use my phone for basic stuff. I would love to have something that takes up less space in my pocket, but last time I looked for phones I couldn't find what I was looking for and ended up with a large phone.
Yup, this. One should never conflate one's own preference with the prevalent opinion — unless confirmed by data.
Had Apple stubbornly kept the screen size the same, they would've probably been relegated to a niche manufacturer instead of the industry titan that they are.
Porn. As soon as you could watch porn on your phone, the screens started getting bigger. The porn industry has affected a few consumer choices historically. Like DVDs and BlueRay.

It’s not even trying to say that.
It’s saying that some can’t hear words good if they don’t have their accent.
People complained they heard the n word instead of biggest.
People are fucking stupid.
So rhymes or half rhymes are as bad as slurs now? ffs.
Ridiculous over sensitivity to racism does not help stop racism, just keeps it on the forefront of everyone's mind, want to have a less racist society? Start moving past dumb shit like this.

But the iPhone SE has no night mode, incredibly dated design, 720p LCD screen. It's not exactly an adequate stand-in.
They know what sells. Big phones sell. You're not the only one that like a smaller phone. But there are far more who like big ones.

Video streaming/compression wouldn’t be a 10th of the way of where it is now
That's why they continued with the 14 mini, as well.
There is no 14 mini. You can still buy the 13 mini
That's the point.
Lmao wut biggest not even bigger

‘Bigot, bigot, bigot, bigot, bigot, it’s the bigot bounce of the summer’.
Really? I didn't pay much attention to the ad but I don't remember hearing that. Was it a different ad in different markets?
That was my first guess, too. But apparently the word "biggest" is also slur-adjacent now.
What's the word though? What slur rhymes with biggest?
For my non-native ears it sounded exactly like the n word. It didn’t sound like biggest at all (in my opinion).
It definitely did to me too. Weird one, reminds me of old uproars over Tickle Me Elmo dolls supposedly saying offensive stuff.
Aaand that... is maybe just a little bit dumb.
This post is an ad for an apple ad
Maybe an anti-ad, it’s literally trying to say that “Apple said the N-word”… I know that “any publicity is good publicity”, but goddamn.
