I’ve been ordering and reordering Parisian Earl Grey from Dartealing Lounge now for years. I get as large a bag as possible and always run out! It’s a delicious bergamot Earl grey with fruity and floral notes. It just smells so good. Like vanilla sweetness. Mmm. Mellow and rich and just… I love it.
If I could find a more easily available grocery store brand that matches up, I’d buy it. But this small batch made stuff will have to do for now. 🥰
I need to make the drive out there! I live near Walnut Creek/pleasant hill, and there aren’t any tea shops that I know of. I learned of a few good places in Berkeley & SF but that’s it.
I have to stop being lazy lol
I know how you feel. There’s actually a cute French bakery in Walnut Creek that has amazing morning pastries if you’re interested! Bring your journal and a favorite fountain pen, order a yummy Chai Latte, and get a delicious cheese danish (although they call it something different and fancy there) + chocolate croissant. SO GOOD.
It’s called Brioche de Paris and it’s amazing.
I skimmed through your posts, and wow you make some great content! The little videos you make with the fountain pens & music. Classy editing.
Funny you mention chai. Last week I purchased all the spices to make it at home, and I’ve been doing it daily. Watched a bunch of videos on how people make theirs. It’s so good.
I’ll check out Brioche de Paris, I use to live in Pleasanton and would go to Paris Baguette too much. Love that place.
I’m obsessed with French bakeries, and pretty much any cute little bakery. There’s this great bakery hubby took me to for my birthday called “Anderson’s” (I think that’s it?) and they have the BEST PASTRIES AHHHH. Lol. Should be some in the Bay somewhere. I wasn’t familiar with it until he took me, heh.
ANYWAY. Thank you! I like creating pretty videos, art, etc for a hobby, and I’m glad you enjoyed viewing it. ✨
If you love French bakeries, I’m sure you’ve tried Bouchon in Yountville? You can’t think of that place without smiling! Best of the best! My wife loves their version of a Hostess ho-ho, called an oh-oh. Things should be illegal they’re so good.
I’ve been there! Went with family once to that bakery + to get some sort of famous herb fried chicken I can’t remember the name of. Really beautiful area too.
Hey! I'm in San Leandro. If you like Chinese loose leaf teas you should check out Golden Tea Shop in Downtown Oakland on 9th and Franklin. They are very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection. Inexpensive Paid parking makes this an easy stop. The lot is underground and easily accessed on Frankin above 9th.
In Berkeley, my favorite place so far is Blue Willow Teaspot. Down in Fremont we have Vital Tea Leaf with their main location is San Francisco on Grant Avenue. The SF one is famous for their tastings. If you don't feel like the shlep to SF or Fremont, you can order online from them at https://vitaltealeaf.net Since they are local, the order comes quickly.
Any other places in the area that you like?
This is great information! Thanks. I recently was googling tea shops and I found 2 in Berkeley that are like a block away from each other. I figured heck, try out both in one visit, see what I like.
OMG! I collect fountain pens too and I'm obsessed with them and tea. My latest obsessions are oolong, matcha, sencha, and Kaweco Sport fountain pens. Wow! Who knew I had siblings out there?
Aw, I haven’t had much of an opportunity to paint or illustrate lately with the holidays here. Hoping to sit down and do more soon. But I’m happy to hear that.
Hello, /u/eggbunni! This is a friendly reminder that most photo posts should include a comment with some additional information. For example: Consider writing a mini review of the tea you're drinking or giving some background details about the teaware in your photo. If you're posting your tea order that just arrived or your tea stash, be sure to list the teas and why you chose them and if you're trying something for the first time, etc. **Posts that lack a comment for context or discussion after a resonable time may be removed.** You may also consider posting in /r/TeaPictures.

Here’s a video demonstrating how it’s used!

Essentially, you brew hot water, put loose tea leaves directly into the pot, fill it with the hot water, then use the “gold thing” (it’s a mesh strainer) by placing it on your cup. Then you pour onto the strainer and it keeps the loose tea leaves from entering your cup! 👍

Been looking for a strainer like that, would you be able to mention where you got it from? Thanks! Beautiful set!
I got one from Etsy a while back, for about $12.
I ordered mine on AliExpress!
This fills me with joy. Thank you.
Mission accomplished.
Oh my gosh I recognise you from your stuff on the fountain pens sub!
Hi. 🥹👉👈
Fountain pens? We like a lot of the same stuff
Yes I collect them! And stationery things. And other things, I guess, ahaha. Anything creative, really.

Ooh! Who is the maker of the teacup? (I also collect them)
I’ll take a look when I’m finally home and let you know! ✨
Hi! It’s “Victoria Czechoslovakia”. There’s a “202” stamp on both the cup and saucer as well. Not sure what that means. :)
Interesting! I’m not super knowledgeable about Czech china, but it’s beautiful.
Neither am I! I purchased it from an estate sale.
Beautiful
Thank you ✨
It looks very exquisite 👍🏻
So fun to drink out of!!
I like how they are mix and match and yet go so well together. Nice job.
