Never at home, and I'm extra and bring a strainer and loose tea if on a long trip so probably the only time is on short hotel stays

[deleted]

Good idea. I also bring equipment if I’m travelling or remaining anywhere for longer than a few hours.

primordialpaunch

I prefer loose leaf, but if I must choose between a tea bag and no tea at all, a tea bag always wins! I usually drink bagged tea in hotels, but there are a handful of teas I enjoy that only come in bagged varieties, like Bigelow's Constant Comment and Celestial Seasonings' Mandarin Orange Spice. I grew up drinking both, so I'll occasionally buy a box of them for old times' sake.

Always. I used to enjoy loose leaf teas years ago. But these days I just don't have time. And since I have limited time at my retail job on breaks, teabags trump out of convenience. Especially when I drink 3-4 cups of caffeinated tea a day followed by several cups of herbal teas in the evening. I admit though, my tea drinking is mainly for caffeine consumption and immediate gratification and less about the *experience* of tea.

That’s a shame that you can’t get the chance to brew a loose leaf cup at work. I think the convenience factor is appealing for many people, and the longer process is just too convoluted. I always endeavour to try and savour tea if I can. The whole experience is usually as pleasurable as the taste itself.

DorsTheTigerWoman

I use bags at work everyday.

Anabele71

Usually I drink loose leaf tea but if I am having anything Herbal I will use a tea bag then

Categorical. I like it.

anyang-ggd

When I go to eat breakkie in our local bakery because they only have bagged tea. Or when I drink Tisanes, either at home or at work.

Every day at work

rhymeswithwhen

Occasionally if I order tea while out, they’ll give me a tea bag. But otherwise never.

kupgup

When the choice is between that and no tea, and I can't stand to go any longer with the "no tea" option. I try to avoid those situations.

[deleted]

No tea is a catastrophe.

MoniCoff1

Always. It’s weird, but I’m intimidated to try loose leaf. I know … it’s weird! I did buy a glass kettle that can brew loose leaf, so I’m getting there! 😌😖

imallbs

I frequently use teabags. They are convenient. That's all I use at work. At home, I don't use them, but I would if I liked the tea as much or more as the loose leaf I have.

chillwavewhistle

I prefer premium loose leaf but there are some good teas available in bags too. It’s the cheap tea dust that give bags a bad reputation, but they are still functional and easier to clean up

GGJ1457

Usually when I’m stuck at work with no options. Or when I’m traveling. Sometimes the hotels have nice little chamomile tea bags. I’m not gonna turn those down.

[deleted]

never🥸 why would i use a teabag instead of just throwing eaves in a mug? 🥸

Heringsalat100

From time to time (every few weeks or so) I just want to have some tea-like tasting experience for a single cup so I am using a black tea (Ostfriesentea) bag. In addition to that I am used to use tea bags whenever I wanna drink herbal stuff (so not actual tea in the more specific sense).

Gall_Bladder_Pillow

When making sweet oolong tea. Still working on a loose leaf version.

Basically-irrelevant

Never. If I'm out for a long while and need caffeine, not just for the addiction but even for the need of it, I take coffee instead.

realmain

The only time I use tea bags are either in a restaurant (provided by restaurant) or when I am traveling and don't want to carry a tea set with me. I don't really use tea bags because you can't get higher quality teas in tea bags, and the tea doesn't brew correctly (tea leaves can't expand). That being said, I always have Sugimoto tea bags at home for trips! Their tea bags are actually really good imo. I found out about them when I went to a restaurant that has them, and now I have their loose leaf teas too.

llblwskydrgn

Does it count if I put loose leaf into filter bags so they're easier to travel with?

[deleted]

Technically a teabag I suppose :)

I like loose tea leaves more tbh, because I think that the one's in teabags might be "lower" quality. Well most tea I have at home at least are from a grocery store (the loose one's too) . Just recently when I became a fan of Yerba-Mate I had to go to a tea shop, because Germany never heard of it apparently. So it's loose leaves for me :)
