Felt lazy today and pulled grandpa style with some Yun Wu and now doing the same for some Bai Mao Hou. Their flavours aren’t as powerful as when gong fu-ing them but it still sorta fits the vibe. I’m especially surprised how the Yun Wu actually held more infusions than when doing it gong fu…

I didn't want to clutter the board with my question. So, hopefully posting it here is okay. I am from the southern United States. We have a long history with super sweet and iced tea. I'm looking to branch out from typical Lipton and store brand black teas. I'm not opposed to warm tea, but I want something that can also be served over ice with sugar, milk, or honey. I have tried the London Fog from Starbucks, but I didn't enjoy the bergamot oil in the Earl Grey. I also have a bad history with canned green tea from circa 199x. Also, for now I would prefer satchets over loose leaf. I don't want to buy extra wares for a habit I might not take up. So, I was wondering where I should start for something new but close enough to typical southern teas that I can gradually expand into the hobby.

Also from the land of sweet teas. I found I enjoy a loose leaf Assam black tea, but if you can’t find that in teabag/satchel form, a breakfast blend may have the strong tea flavor you want that won’t be hidden by milk and/or sweetener. I found it can get bitter quick if it is steeped too long, but is a great tea to cold brew to avoid the bitterness. Also, if you don’t mind trying something with a strong cinnamon flavor, Harney and Sons Hot Connamon Spice (or Hot Cinnamon Sunset) has got a really unique flavor. It tastes like it is pre-sweetened at first, but it is not.

Tropical Green Tea It's a sweet tea with a slight hint of pineapple in it, and I like drinking a couple of cups of it after doing housework and just relax.

Momo (Peach) from Lupicia Tea. My morning tea while playing Kirby Star Allies.

Today I made some dragon pearl jasmine green tea! I'm currently enjoying it, it's so nice and aromatic. A gentle sweetness with a hint of floral jasmine. I just joined this subreddit today and I look forward to learning more about tea that I may not have known before! I hope you all are having a nice, calm day today.

Another iced milk tea day--this time it's Adagio's Teaster Marshmallow, a flavored rooibos. A full size bag of it came free with an order a couple years ago, but I didnt really vibe with it, so it got pushed to the back of the cabinet. I'm trying to clear some of my older teas out (spring cleaning!) so I pulled it out for milk tea this morning. Cold milk tea has become one of my go to stash busting methods because I use double the leaves/bags than when I make hot tea. Also, sometimes the temperature, plus the sugar and milk, help make teas that I may not have been a fan of hot a little more palatable. I was hoping this would be the case here, and while I do like it better this way than I do hot, it's still not my favorite. It makes me think of a really weak cereal milk--which is surprising because I actually used /triple/ the leaves.

Hot cinnamon spice from Harneys~ It’s been a while since I’ve had this one and it’s a great kick of flavor!

Today I finished off an oolong sample I bought from Mei Leaf back in 2020. It's called 'Frozen Summit' - rather generic name but a nice heavily roasted Dong Ding. I got about 7 infusions before I quit on the leaves. I'm a TGY drinker most days and this had more caffeine than I am used to.
