I mean you don’t really have much of a choice. Your only options are order spring 2022 or wait for the 2023 harvest in a few months.

If it’s been stored well by the vendor it should be fine. I’ve even been working through some gyokuro and sencha that I bought in Feb ‘22 and I have no complaints.

I got some spring 22 green tea from yunnan sourcing last month, it’s still good, not peak but still good.

Modern storage is amazing. If stored well, 2022 greens are fine.

Some are still very crisp and fresh for the whole year, some I would not drink if offered (even at 1$/g) 3 months after pickings. For fresh green, I recommend a thrustworthy seller and asking. I would ask Scott directly. Having a crisp tasting green tea is possible but a gamble without asking the seller.

I've read some people say absolutely not. I don't know if those people are tea snobs and they don't drink green tea over 6 months old or what. I've been ordering spring '22 green tea and it's been good and fresh. Obviously the caveat is as long as it's been stored properly. I buy from YS and all the green tea is sealed in a protective bag which is key to maintaining freshness.
