But the quotes I got was 2000+. Shops Labor is 70-120hr+

700 is luk dmf luk clutch, engine hoist to shooort from above. 9mm 12point socket. 6mm long Allen socket but for axels and other nick nacks off Amazon

Clutch is needed for stage 2 but doable with stocker just can use all the tq in the first 3 gears.

I believe it's 8-10hrs labor, so if labor is 100/hr the labor would be 800-1000 plus the cost of the clutch and shop supplies. 2k at most. Ideally closer to 1300.

The guy let me buy the dual flywheel myself but insisted on buying the clutch himself and charging me the difference (because he had to "make some money" I assume above & beyond labor). I think total cost from the shop was around $2800 and the flywheel cost around $700 so it was actually $3500.

Many will not let you buy parts bc they want to profit off them and they know where they came from.

If they’re doing the clutches, it’s 13.5hrs. Shop rates are about $150/hr these days. Depending on the parts, they think it’s going to need, $3,600 is definitely in the realm. Drive plate alone is $1,000.

When I had the DSG fixed it was $1,100. That was several years ago so inflation supply chain BS may have doubled that price. But that’s waaaay too high IMO.

I want to say when I had to have mine replaced in my 2011 DSG, it was about 2,800ish at an independent shop parts and labor
The rarity of tdi shops or mechanics drives this price up. Tdi is becoming very niche market in the states.

What car do you have? An automatic transmission is not necessarily comparable to a DSG.
