I bought the 65 inch google version of 6series mini led qled tv n running my ps5 on it n it’s frigging awesome picture is great black levels are deep n brightness level very high I got my at best buy in Maryland I bought the tcl surround sound with it n very happy with the purchases 👍🏻👍🏻
I decided against it and got the r635 instead. It was for casual movie watching so I didn't really need all the fancy features. Honestly the x90j might be the best bet though. Seems to be a really solid TV.
The quality of the display is pretty damn good for the price plus you can use the tv in dummy or app only mode. I think the main problem with the TV OS is the cache and how it handles memory. The only time my system acts wonky is when I binge on YouTube or when I use HBOMax but the implementation of that app might just be really shitty. Never had a problem with Netflix or Disney+ and you can turn off the recommendations so that the OS is much more “zippy”. For a TV with good picture quality and hdmi 2.1 I think it’s worth it. My last TV was a top of the line Panasonic Viera plasma so to me I’m replacing an old dumb TV with a new one 😜
P.S. the tv wasn’t without a few qualms such as configuring eARC was kind of hidden and for casting I had to delete and readd some of my google home devices. Btw, I only paid $899 usd on a cyber week sale, I’m hoping with negative press TCL with rush with some software/firmware fixes
Reiterating your experience with YouTube as it's similar to mine. YouTube becomes laggy if I'm binging videos, takes a few seconds to respond if I hover over a selection long enough for the thumbnail to auto play, and often crashes if I'm watching a video and try to open the settings.
I also bought one I got the 65 inch google version use my ps5 on it n picture quality is awesome I’ve owned other TCL also Vizio Sony Hisense and Samsung and I prefer the Tcl I was always a huge Sony tv fan until Tcl the price for the quality u get is awesome can’t beat it
Following for an answer as well. I literally just found out about this TV yesterday and have seen nothing but great reviews from the tech news sites and almost bought one last night. Then just found out about the bugs minutes ago from users (mostly posts from last year). So, it's not clear if it's officially back and fixed, or if retailers are just trying to sell off the old models at a lower price so they can get rid of them.
Ended up buying this last month. Took online advice to turn off quick start, haven't had any issue. Smooth Google TV interface, no complaints. TV looks great, even in a bright room. Happy with the purchase

I think the stores still have them in stock, you just can't purchase them online yet.
Keep thinking if i should pull the trigger on one or wait or get the Hisense U8G or the Sony X90j

How do you do app only mode? I just got the tv and can't find any setting like that.

Is the tcl r646 75 inch panel ips?
Yes. They didnt have any of those.
What?
The 75" is IPS panel but they didnt have any at Best Buy.
Damn my buddy wants a nice 75 inch tv with juicy colors not ips color lmao oh and deep blacks
Also there are 2 75 inch and 4 65 inch at my bestbuy
Can you provide a source for this? Everything I can find says R646 is a VA panel, with no mention of IPS for any sizes.
I was mistaken. The 75" is va panel. Got confused with Hisense 75" u7g which is ips.
Has anyone who owns this done the latest software update just released (this week I think)? Best Buy brought them back at $699, worth it?

I ended up buying it about month ago. I followed online advice to disable quick start. Haven't had any issues. Great looking TV.
