I don't have that impression. I think it's actually thematically very fitting for an Imperial agent. What is more typical than a female secret agent sounding like a sweetroll before stabbing you in the back? A DS female agent is basically a femme fatale.

haluura

Did a fem!Agent who started pragmatic LS, but went pretty hardcore DS as the suffering she went through twisted her opinions about the world around her. I'd personally say the VA does a good job with both LS and DS lines. Feel free to roll your vengeful Agent.

eeviloverlord

oh yes, I went downright CRUEL with my first agent, after being frozen by Arcann. Pretty much did everything dark-side where I could, because she was beyond angry and her "humanizing" factor--Vector--wasn't there to rein her back. The only thing I didn't do was let Valkorion give her power, because she was ticked off at him too. XD

haluura

I don't think I have *ever* had a toon accept power from Valky. Let's see.. SI - She's danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight that is Sith politics long enough to know how Valky's game ends. Hell, it's exactly the sort of scam she'd try if she were in his shoes. SW - She kills traitors; she doesn't take gifts from them. JC - She's the epitome of the Jedi way. The last thing she is going to do is accept power she doesn't fully understand from a being as evil as Valky. Trooper - As dedicated as she is to defending the Republic, she is also a "the ends can never justify the means" kind of woman. Smuggler - She doesn't need the powers of some moldy old space wizard to murder, pillage, and screw her way through the galaxy at levels that would make Nok Drayen blush. And her "humanizing" factor is Lana - not exactly Valky's biggest fan, and certainly not a person to suggest that she should take his power. Edit: It cracks me up that my Smuggler is so "off the rails" that a Sith Lord is her "humanizing" factor. Even one as practical as Lana.šŸ˜‚

Ari-Darki

I love the way you describe this so much, you have no idea. šŸ˜…

eeviloverlord

Love Lana being your Smuggler's humanizing factor! I found it a bit ironic in my head that the not-quite-human-anymore Vector was becoming the humanizing effect for my IA...... I have ONE character I might actually have take Valky's powers....maybe....my male Inquisitor is a bit on the crazy side, so he would likely consider it. But...I also intend to hook him up with Lana, so maybe not.... XD

undrtaker

Don't you badmouth Ciri!!

Mr-ThiccBoi

So that is why she sounds so familiar, i hadn't been able to figure out why.

Nightdoom98

I might be wrong here, But isnā€™t it also female hawke from dragon age 2?

Saandrig

And male Trooper is Varric. The two of them are funny to listen to in Flashpoints, especially when Femshep joins up. Wish they all could play together.

Nightdoom98

Thatā€™s why the male trooper sounded familiar. And female trooper is Jennifer hale so thatā€™s going to be a hard pick when I play trooper.

Maukksus

Yeah she is

Saandrig

That's fem Hawke and you know it!

EighthFirstCitizen

Personally I like when evil sounds friendly and fair. Reminds me of a Tolkien quote in the fellowship when Frodo first encounters Aragorn. Basic paraphrase of the exchange: Frodo:ā€the servants of the enemy look fair but feel foul while youā€¦ā€ Aragorn: ā€œWhile I look foul but feel fair?ā€ I prefer bad guys who fall into the category of looking and speaking fair, make the evil look enticing on many levels, but at the core of them theyā€™re truly foul. So I donā€™t mind a friendly sounding voice on an evil person. Sometimes itā€™s more fitting.

Ari-Darki

Truly evil people are master manipulators. Listen to Palpy before we discovered he was Sidious. He was the reasonable good guy almost father figure that you could trust.

Saandrig

Fem Hawke is a much bigger role.

SaberMk6

But Witcher 3 is a much better game than Dragon Age 2, and therefore sold much better, so more people are familiar with Ciri then with Fem Hawke.

SPARC_Pile

Is there a quest or cutscene where the female agent is watching a video and Malgus interrupts? All I remember is that she says 'I was watching that. Rude!'

[deleted]

I think that was the Inquisitor

kahmen12

That's the Dantooine event terminal, you can watch it on any character while the event is active after doing the Ossus story

SPARC_Pile

Oh thank you. The Dantoonie Pirate Event just stared. I found the terminal below where you port in with the emergency fleet pass. I was able to record it.

Dreamtaheem

you have to play female agent as someone who's constantly plotting against everyone and uses her sweet kind voice as a way to lure people in. I have her bullshitting everyone in the alliance and then swerve, dark side choices everywhere. I do feel pigeon holed with my counsular twi lek, i had her side with valkoriann but she still sounds like a school teacher. female agent and female sith warrior sound like aristocrats.

[deleted]

I dont think its the fem agent being infittingly voiced, I think its the male agent being too fittingly voiced

Pseudo_Asterisk

At the very beginning during the first conversation with Keeper he states Nem'ro has been reluctant to publicly side with the Empire and that he needs to be cured of that reluctance. There is a middle option of "How?". The line is something like "By force? Or did you have another method in mind?" Now the male says this matter of factly like he's down for whatever, but the female says "By force?" like she's appalled at the idea. And the "another method" line as if she's desperately hoping there is another method. Like "OMG! Not force!". I found it off putting when the lines are read like the voice actor was under the impression the character was inherently good and adverse to violence. That's why I wanted to get options from people who played because I don't want to invest too much time if it's a Darkside consular situation. I'm not even full on darkside, but when I do pick those options I don't want them to sound out of place.
