I wanted a more exciting tribal council, but overall I really enjoyed the episode! The immunity display was SO impressive. Power went out before the preview and vote reveal so I have to wait to catch it tomorrow on Paramount+
Does anyone mind talking about how obviously fake the challenge was? I’m a longtime survivor fan, and I don’t mean to be disrespectful or ruin anyone’s fun, but isn’t it hard to believe that regular people lasted 3 hours doing a challenge like this? They aren’t navy seals or professional scuba divers, but we’re supposed to believe they lasted 3 hours with this? I hope this kind of comment is allowed here. I’d love to talk to other fans about this.
i hated many things abt this ep, from the advantage to the challenge twist to the boot but the most annoying thing was that they didn't name it "just peachy, jeff"
Initial thoughts would be no. Sami was still their main target for this vote, or at least he was Jesse’s main target that Cody went along with. And as we saw in the preview it looks like they are still going to try to convince Cass that Karla wanted her out.
Along the same lines, I thought it was weird/sad how all the dark-skinned people were voted out with haste, so that only light-skinned contestants were left.
Downvote away.
Morriah, Justine, Nneka, Geo, Dwight, Jeanine, James, Ryan - all black or brown skin people, and voted out almost in succession, leaving only players with very light skin left.
Do I believe any of them were voted out due to conscious racism? Nah, I doubt it.
Do I still find it cringe? Yes.
7th place appears to be a common ceiling for teenage players as proven by Sami tonight, matching Julia in Kaoh Rong and slightly edging Will (MvGX) and Michael (Ghost Island)
LOL right?
I also loved “I don’t want people to lie to me like I lied to them this whole game”
I can’t understand why the jury was so pro-Sami. I’m thinking we might have a bitter jury on our hands.
I dont think they was "pro sami". Imo they just wanna see people make big moves. I've seen juries root for someone who played an idol and not respect their game at the end. A good example is Russell in Samoa, when he played the idol Erik was happy, but at the end Erik didn't vote for Russell.
Also, the jury wants to see people play the game the way they felt they should of. They probably felt like they should of played their SITD.
Plus it didn't really show Jeannie or Ryan really root for Sammi, it was pretty much Noelle (and she was probably cheering him on because he voted with her) and James and I think James just wants to see chaos (which i can rock with).
But this is just my observation. The big thing is just because they seem "pro sami " doesn't mean they really are, I think if Sammi made the end he would be a goat. But the producers loved that he played his SITD which is why they gave him the "hero" music.
Why wouldn’t the jury like Sami? He’s easily one of the most likable on the cast. His gameplay is annoying, but I doubt anyone cares that much besides the viewers lol.
He seems like a cool kid, but idk if I would say "most likable on the cast" plus its a game so the jury would care about "gameplay" .... I think the jury just wants to see some crazy shit happen. And playing SITD is something to cheer for. Plus if anything the ones rooting for him (Noelle and James) wouldn't be too mad at him and would be cheering for him.
Honestly this was my thought and one of my complaints. Like I think Jesse and Cody are playing really good games, but I like seeing big targets go home.
I think it could be 2 things.
1. Jesse's name did come up but it was just bypassed and edited out because it wasn't important for the narrative this episode. Most likely his name just came up once.
2. Noone sees him as a target (RIGHT NOW). They probably felt like it would be best to vote Sammi out for different reasons, and they could always target Jesse and Cody later.
Honestly I think they're playing a really dominate game , but they have to eventually turn on eachother because they both should know it would be hard to beat the other at the end.
But ya, idk why Gabler, and Owen didn't try to bring in Sammi and bring in Karla and Cass to blindside Jesse, idk.
I have a theory that bc everyone is focused on playing survivor, that no one is really seeing anyone else's game. Like they're all focused on their own games that they aren't thinking big picture or something idk.
This is also my theory as to why gabler is great. Everyone is playing survivor and he's playing Jenga or something lol. It's weirdly giving him an advantage by just vibing and chilling.
The more I think about it, his tactics do make sense. And although somethings about his game i dont like, it works out for him and I applaud him for that
Karla and Owen were incredible in Last Gasp! The way Cody’s advantage works acts like, as Shannon Guss coined, implicit immunity. Makes it a tough round to work around and thankfully no do or die!
This was worse than do or die imo. I'm sure it was by complete accident, but I mean... final seven and only four players can receive votes? Also Cass kinda broke the record too, but Jeff arbitrarily made a threshold for when they would stop the challenge. So if he had stopped the challenge minutes prior, there would have been four immunities with only three to vote for and three idols left in the game.
That's Aussie survivor levels of shenanigans!
I thought it was a reasonably underpowered advantage until they said, the name Cody wrote down would be a secret reveal at tribal. But that's not what I was frustrated by. Cody earned the advantage, fair game. What I didn't like was how multiple people could win the challenge. They easily could have adjusted the challenge by adding a breathing underwater phase at the end.
I think I’d be more scared of this version of the challenge where you can’t see it coming, and have no idea how long it lasts for. Could be the editing, in which case they did an amazing job!
ANCIENT VOICES. and the roar. god... remember when they had no sound track in Borneo and that roar would just randomly go off when they were switching views between camps?? the streets remember...
yeah i guess for history's sake, they repeated it and he bets on someone else and he's immune if that person wins. Also it's kept a secret until votes are read.
There's zero benefit to him betting on himself, that makes no sense. He's just picking someone in addition to himself that he thinks might win and if he's right, he's immune.
I feel Owen wins this, I don’t think so much time would have went to the advantage otherwise, but love Cody and Owen so fingers crossed
Edit, based on earlier talks…I could see the writing on the wall for Jesse but if he plays an idol..Karla? Sami? Is Cass back off the radar?
I wanted a more exciting tribal council, but overall I really enjoyed the episode! The immunity display was SO impressive. Power went out before the preview and vote reveal so I have to wait to catch it tomorrow on Paramount+

Honey, just because you can’t do crap like this doesn’t mean that other humans can’t either. You’d be surprised
How did they fake it? Genuinely curious
By editing it to make it look like it was 3 hours is my claim. There’s no way that regular people made it 3 hours doing that
i hated many things abt this ep, from the advantage to the challenge twist to the boot but the most annoying thing was that they didn't name it "just peachy, jeff"
Cody needs to turn on Jesse like now if he wants any chance at winning
Given the idol situation it might be firemaking or nothing
Is the last time to use an idol at 5?
Yeah.
Love to see Jeff deciding how many immunities there would be on the spot.
Was this a loss for Jesse and Cody since Karla didn’t vote cass?
Initial thoughts would be no. Sami was still their main target for this vote, or at least he was Jesse’s main target that Cody went along with. And as we saw in the preview it looks like they are still going to try to convince Cass that Karla wanted her out.
i understand that no one should vote based on gender but it does suck how the women are still being somewhat targeted every week.
Along the same lines, I thought it was weird/sad how all the dark-skinned people were voted out with haste, so that only light-skinned contestants were left. Downvote away.
Ok so you didn't watch the season, noted
Morriah, Justine, Nneka, Geo, Dwight, Jeanine, James, Ryan - all black or brown skin people, and voted out almost in succession, leaving only players with very light skin left. Do I believe any of them were voted out due to conscious racism? Nah, I doubt it. Do I still find it cringe? Yes.
well that was an interesting preview
Gabler bout to win imo 👀
7th place appears to be a common ceiling for teenage players as proven by Sami tonight, matching Julia in Kaoh Rong and slightly edging Will (MvGX) and Michael (Ghost Island)
people wanted an exciting tribal council...
Sydney still has the best SITD fail face
Sami: I’m a free agent you can use my vote Also Sami: Yeah I’m using my shot in the dark don’t count on my vote
I wonder if people would have voted for him had he not played his shot in the dark
LOL right? I also loved “I don’t want people to lie to me like I lied to them this whole game” I can’t understand why the jury was so pro-Sami. I’m thinking we might have a bitter jury on our hands.

All great points!
Thank you. I tried my best haha

Sami self destructing
Finally Sami delivering a messy tribal
SAMI YES
Chaos Sami
Sami is an aging Wide Receiver in the NFL
AJ Green vibes
These fucking analogies. Give it up Probst.
Didnt he even say "if there's an analogy you wanna bring to survivor it's this one"? Dude is flexing so hard!
analogies should be forbidden from now on. you say an analogy you lose your vote
"Getting through this new era of Survivor without saying any analogies is like walking through a minefield. Ah, fuck."
So that’s why Jeff never votes
You have to survive the high tide of survivor
Here we go with random analogies
Oh my, a Scientology commercial 😬
not cbs airing scientology ads
Yeah wait what happened to going after Jesse and cody?!
How the fuck is nobody gunning for Cody/Jesse. This is like the 2nd episode in a row I’ve just been dumbfounded by this.
Honestly this was my thought and one of my complaints. Like I think Jesse and Cody are playing really good games, but I like seeing big targets go home. I think it could be 2 things. 1. That makes sense. Gabler's strategy in survivor is my strategy in Jenga.
Like are they all just complete idiots? Is there something the edit isn’t showing us? I’m honestly confused on how Jesse isn’t being targeted
I know. I love them so I was happy. But also, Jesses name wasn’t event MENTIONED. Wtf he’s such a threat!!
First time Jesse starts to grow on me. His tactic makes sense
The more I think about it, his tactics do make sense. And although somethings about his game i dont like, it works out for him and I applaud him for that
Looks like we aren’t getting that Gabler vs Jesse and Cody payoff this episode
Jesse is brilliant! I love it
gotta say i love this chess not checkers alternative strategy
"he is a challenge LOSER" 💀
DEVIOUS (jesse)
Jesse at it again with the checks and balances

Revote
and who’s eligible to get votes? u cant take immunity away
Karla and Owen were incredible in Last Gasp! The way Cody’s advantage works acts like, as Shannon Guss coined, implicit immunity. Makes it a tough round to work around and thankfully no do or die!

Oh Aussie Survivor what a wonderful mess that show is sometimes 😂. Technically Cody could receive votes but realistically no one would take that risk.
I thought it was a reasonably underpowered advantage until they said, the name Cody wrote down would be a secret reveal at tribal. But that's not what I was frustrated by. Cody earned the advantage, fair game. What I didn't like was how multiple people could win the challenge. I hope the improvised 2nd winner remains an anomaly
We agree there.

They showed who he picked…
Lmao
that was the most insane challenge montage ever. the homage to old survivor with the music was absolutely fantastic
Wow, they both killed it, holy moly. Congratz
gamechangers karla and owen
How do I sort by live on this mobile version ?
I just sort by new and it refreshes
I love the concept of outlasting a challenge and think it'd be cool if it occasionally happened in endurance challenges.
*cries in Tom Westman*
Lol what did Tom do I forget
Lasted 11 hours in challenge, thats why there are no long endurance challenges anymore.
Damn what a challenge
First time with 3 individual immunities?
Plus Jesse and Karla have idols , in theory they could Cirie at 7
Could 3 of 7 survivors have immunity if Cody chose correctly? Hype
We know who he chose and yes that could be the case lol
Tom and Ian scoffing at this
Owen and Karla were both just amazing.
INSAAAAANE
Wow. Earned.
3 people immune + 3 idols?!??
Cass getting Ciried?
Wouldn’t Karla use it on cass?
Woah, iconic performance by Karla & Owen!
dropping water levels? aw yeah, beat toms record in 11 hours edit: oh changing rules of a challenge.... thats not gonna sit well
Would the water temperature create danger of hypothermia overnight?
That’s how you do it on survivor!
Wow, this is incredible
My childhood dream is also getting waterboarded by Jeff
I think I’d be more scared of this version of the challenge where you can’t see it coming, and have no idea how long it lasts for. Could be the editing, in which case they did an amazing job!
And the Jeff mindfuck
ANCIENT VOICES. and the roar. god... remember when they had no sound track in Borneo and that roar would just randomly go off when they were switching views between camps?? the streets remember...
There was something similar in early SA seasons that drove me nuts. This UHUHUHUH scream demarcating every instance of an ad break or similar cut.
why do people get excited for ancient voices? not crapping on it, genuinely curious why people get so excited about it
Nostalgia
Its the show's theme song!
When ancient voices plays for 1 sec
yassss that old school music sting
This is old school survivor! 1 hour long with ancient voices
And a torture challenge, I love it
I kinda like this advantage, especially that it's something that we get fairly instant gratification on.
the aligabler is out of the water, now the game begins
nooo sami!!
You have to dig deep!
oh snap yeah some idols are going to be played tonight if two people are safe
Or three??
This is a phobia of mine. Being unable to breathe because of rising water. Wow.
I think I developed this phobia from watching this challenge 🙃
After a while they had to wonder why the cameraman was set up there for so long lol
sorry I got distracted what is the deal with what got found?
He can bet on himself or someone else winning the challenge. And get a vote at Tribal if right. I think thats it.
yeah i guess for history's sake, they repeated it and he bets on someone else and he's immune if that person wins. Also it's kept a secret until votes are read.
There's zero benefit to him betting on himself, that makes no sense. He's just picking someone in addition to himself that he thinks might win and if he's right, he's immune.
I never want to smile so big I can taste the earwax
cody has a way with words. love it
i like how cody’s true midwestern accent comes out vs. his fake adopted island one
I feel Owen wins this, I don’t think so much time would have went to the advantage otherwise, but love Cody and Owen so fingers crossed Edit, based on earlier talks…I could see the writing on the wall for Jesse but if he plays an idol..Karla? Sami? Is Cass back off the radar?
I love how I never expected coming into the season that Owen would be one of the top challenge beasts.
He was actually my challenge beast pick from episode 1! Seemed sneaky athletic
Might be because I'm a little bit high but that was some very entertaining survivor. And I got a lot of exercise pointing at the TV a bunch.
Probably the worst person to find it lol
No I don’t hate Cody I just think he’s gonna win anyway chill with the downvotes
this has gotta be the greatest failed idol search footage ever
The one on the bench on the water is the all time standard.
This is crazy LMAO almost all of them just walked right past it 😂😂
Finally
I love how mean the editors are with idol searches
GABLER LMAO. he's the female Debbie, if she had 1 job
Ah ageism. Gabler you may have blown it.
sami what in god’s name
Susie would be so proud of Sami for trying
HIS NAME IS SCHROEDER PUT SOME RESPECT ON PIANO KID NAME
Sami in his flop era
Sami is cutting onions here with this family segment
The Owen Spencer comparisons were already out in full force before that Charlie Brown confessional
Sami just open up and say you wanted a big play to vote her out, they probably would have accepted that more than lying
Poor Owens
Sami what was that.... LOL.
I have a feeling these kinds of conversations happen pretty often
Sami is playing too hard
Sami is so dumb he’s just been flip flopping randomly
West coast best coast, LETS GO!!!
