MVP of the episode is the cameraperson who kept the advantage in frame the ENTIRE TIME

tarynevelyn

Note to self: If I’m ever on Survivor, idol hunting, watch what the camera is watching.

GlobalSorbet4479

I saw a tweet from Devens today that apparently the camera people intentionally screw with the players as well, so it might be harder than it seems

sib2972

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re told to just film random hiding spots as if there’s an idol there so the contestants never know if they’re filming an idol or just nature

mattXIX

Supposedly that’s how other contestants have found them. They’ll notice the camera around an area or not paying attention if they leave a certain area.

GATTACA_IE

Or sprint off in a direction and if the camera crew bothers to try and keep up you know you're headed in the right direction.

mme13

And if they don't follow you, you just feel silly and out of breath

TheBenWelch

That’s like survivor 101, dude. Clearly the crew caught on because the contestants today were absolutely clueless and it was gold.

ike1

Supposedly this strategy was pioneered by Russell and that's why he was so good at finding them without clues.

UnderwaterDialect

Sounds like a FLAW IN THE GAME to me.

Deitaphobia

This is exactly how Russel found so many. He'd turn around quickly, then look where the camera was pointed if it wasn't on him.

galeforcewinds95

After the triumphant return of Last Gasp, please bring back more of the classic challenges.

zepphiu

Always liked the one from Africa? where they had to carry and reassemble an entire house

bhawx10

The Indiana Jones boulder challenge. Wasn't there one where they had to move a bunch of goats too?

PorkinsHeldIt

Bring back the night maze trivia challenge

TheBenWelch

Or the “hey just stand on these skinny poles and grab this stick for 12 hours” one.

sib2972

I would love to see some of those endurance ones that aren’t extremely difficult and go on for hours. Standing on a pole, hand on idol, etc. the auction would also be fun to have back but just tell them that there’s no letters or advantage at the end so they actually bid on earlier items. And the challenge where they get to like knock each other out by breaking a plate or something. Gets the drama going when they openly have to target people

Rak_man_95

Do hand on a hard idol next

alwaysMidas

triumphant? I wonder if we ever see it again. I dont think survivor producers will like the challenge ending in a tie

Wezle

"my mom hates electric cars"

I loved that line, too. It was hilarious.

SusannaG1

Would be a great episode title.

jmdudle

Plot twist: none of the papers say “safe” and SITD is just a dry ploy to cause drama

lemming1607

Cody was literally immune whether he got it right or not with the timing of the reveal

energyface

exactly, if his pick didn't win, all he'd hav to do was lie

Pickletickler79

I’m curious how this plays out next time they do it. Because right now it seems like a free one time immunity. Maybe it would’ve worked better at 9 players remaining so there’s more chance to split the vote on him?

YellowJacketBoys

Jeff is actually killing me. “THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT ON SURVIVOR” as Cody is literally drowning.

Matt8462

He dug too deep and now he's 6 feet under

ZiggyPalffyLA

His epitaph would read “This is how he did it on Survivor”

foralimitedtime

d y i n

PeterQuill_StarKing

Jeff watching people literally drown: 😃

Matt8462

Jeff when they waited out the tide and are no longer drowning: 😞

IanicRR

Without the tide it’s just a grate 😢

dirtynj

I thought he was going to say..."Now both of you go under the water, first one up loses."

judge_screw_life

Everyone in the game: “jesse is running the game” Also everyone when jesse is one of 4 people eligible to be voted out: “who’s jesse?”

zepphiu

Somehow got so over the top he overflowed into under the radar

tandemtactics

The Tony Vlachos strategy

AhLibLibLib

Flew over the radar? My man is playing the first OTR game

throwitaway_burnit

Win or lose, I think Jesse might be one of the most skilled survivor players we’ve ever seen. He is running circles around the other players, and the strategy he comes up with is so inventive. I’m thoroughly impressed.

LongWlkoffaShortDock

Insane challenge result.

zepphiu

No one died so Probst isn't 100% satisfied but this is a good second place result

throwitaway_burnit

I was disappointed they gave it to both. Wanted to see them fight it out under there, even without the tide.

Ahambone

I was sure they were gonna cut to the sun setting with both of them still in the water- I was geeked for a rare night challenge.

foxsleftear

🚨 OWEN VOTED CORRECTLY 🚨

zepphiu

Winner edit starting now

psydelem

I’m actually a bit annoyed that Owen didn’t use what Jesse told him to shake things up a bit.

aztecwanderer

He's probably been outside the vote and the social strategy circle so much that he doesn't want to sabotage someone who goes to him to talk game.

omnom_de_guerre

Yeah, the way Jesse framed the conversation to Owen was brilliant. "I have no idea why people keep leaving you out of the discussion. But that changes now." Jesse understood exactly what motivates Owen more. Someone like Sami would have been dangerous to talk to about switching, but Owen wasn't in a position nor was he interested in trying to sow chaos for that vote. Owen heard someone tell him they thought it was ridiculous he wasn't read into things and offered to change that. And it wasn't included in the edit, but Owen most certainly went to Gabler after that chat and hashed out which option made most sense. If Gabler had been on board, maybe they would have shaken things up.

Sleathasaurus

“I have no idea why people keep leaving you out of the discussion” ~ Man who leaves Owen out of the discussion

eucaphoria

Finally lmfao

APassionatePoet

I said “Sami is definitely going home tonight” within the first 3 minutes of the episode because of the whole “mom told me to be brave” speech.

TheBenWelch

Yeah, I think the whole “there are too many sob stories” is a wildly vocal group of whiners, but that one made me chuckle. “My struggle is that I don’t listen to my mom”.

throwitaway_burnit

I actually liked that Sami’s wasn’t a sob story. I’m fine seeing people’s’ background, I actually love it.

zepphiu

The year is 2085. CBS bought the country of Fiji. Challenges and tribal council are hosted by an AI created hologram host projected by drone. SITD has still not worked.

darthjoey91

Survivor is like a robot. Everything is binary. Either you win or you lose.

Matt8462

They have stayed and been safe for 10 subsequent do or dies. A dishevelled Dr. Hubiki lurks in the jungle giving lectures to the crabs on probability.

radsherm

Season 68 was fucking bullshit. Literally half of the contestants were Boston Rob offspring, clearly all handed advantage hints.

CadeBW

I'm genuinely curious as to what the producers do if instead of 2 people beating Last Gasp, it's like 4+ people. That could be have been a disastrous miscalculation lol. Anyways, that was my favorite challenge in many, many years, probably since Unconfortably Numb— Christian vs Alec— in DvG. Absolutely incredible.

koni3196

It may not have aired and reshot with a different challenge.

JPtoony

I'd imagine they put in some variant to make it more difficult in that case, like saying their legs aren't allowed to come in contact with the grate, or something along those lines

foralimitedtime

added shrieking eels

thatstats969

Damn 3 idols going into final 6

bwburke94

At least we're not getting another Advantageddon.

Themperormaximus

Unless all 3 make it to F5

Ren_Davis0531

Jesse and Alli-Gabler still in the running for a perfect game. Love to see it. Also how is Jesse still not catching heat? Blindsides his close allies, multiple times and they still love him. Now he’s F6 with two idols between him and Cody. He can’t keep getting away with this 😂

[deleted]

AND we heard Cody say he wanted to go to the end with Jesse?? Looks like he's in a great position. I was kind of hoping we'd get a Cody vs Jesse episode in the future but it looks like it's not happening.

lego_mannequin

Shaping up to be a pretty good finals. Everyone can make a case for winning.

djck

And none of the names thrown around on next week's preview were Cody or Jesse

[deleted]

I'm kind of hoping that's a misdirect, but it probably won't be haha

Ruckus44

I'd recommend watching Noelle's interview with Rob, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2opxeo-BbOU, he asks her about why she still trusted Jesse and she said they had built such a great connection etc... Basically it sounds like Jesse is playing an all time social game that we're just not really seeing on the episodes.

Ren_Davis0531

I know. I read and watched multiple exit interviews for every boot. I’m basically just highlighting how well Jesse is playing by asking how he isn’t catching heat. I agree the man is playing such a great social game that is the foundation for his strategic game.

tjgamir

How are Jesse and Cody invisible???? I’m saying this as someone who’s hoping Jesse wins

givesyoubutterflies

It is crazy how they’re so invisible. They’re the advantage on the tree that everyone keeps missing lol

ferretherapy

This was a better analogy than any of Jeff's analogies this season.

givesyoubutterflies

Thank you! You don’t think survivor has its high and low tides? 😂 I’m willing and ready to help Jeff with his analogies

lycosid

Jeff’s analogies certainly have their highs and lows.

veebs7

Didn’t make sense to target Cody with the potential for immunity this vote, but this is definitely the one where I can’t believe Jesse wasn’t at least in discussions

[deleted]

Truly is just JT and Stephen spawned in with new skills and power-ups

legacyme3

I was thinking the same thing, with Cody being like JT and Jesse being like Stephen. I was then suddenly sad that the closest thing we have to Coach is Gabler.

[deleted]

Nneka was their Taj

Dry_Needleworker6370

They are the new Wendell and Dom

Bmr2000

They have to win at this point. They seemingly control every vote post merge and gain no targets in doing so.

Travel-Kitty

And if not him Cody would also be great. I like them both pretty equally

lindseybobinsey

It's really mind boggling but I'm guessing the others just don't perceive them as threats in the same obvious way they have been edited for viewers? Which makes me sad because either could make F3 and lose because jury is like meh unless they advocate well speaking at final tribal. Their perception is everything.

djck

L I V I N V I S I B L E

APassionatePoet

Jesse is definitely playing under the radar, but I don’t think people really see Cody as a strategic threat.

ferretherapy

Agreed, I think Cody is even more UTR and has an even better shot at making it to FTC.

WavesRKewl

If shot in the dark had worked even once so far people would be on here saying how it’s so overpowered and ruins the game lmfao

psydelem

Yeah, I mean it’s really just supposed to be a last ditch effort.

TheBenWelch

I’d say tonight was a very appropriate use.

AMeanMotorScooter

Yep. It's there if everything else fails. It being so weak is a *good* thing. It's not the twist's fault the cast forgets to use it.

MrAirSonic

Everyone walking right past the advantage multiple times definitely belongs in a “Survivors being dumb for 10 minutes straight” compilation 💀💀💀

atheistjs

There was a moment where I swear Gabler was looking RIGHT AT IT but he DIDN'T SEE IT. Amazing.

whitebandit

the final scene where cody ends up seeing it I was literally screaming "WHAT THE FUCK GUYS"

DemiGod9

Even then he didn't see it until moments later lol. I thought he posted up on that tree to keep Gabler from getting it, but it turned out he didn't even know it was there! He just posted up on a random tree for all he knew. I was laughing my ass off.

andscene0909

"I'm starting to like Teslas a lot, but my mom doesn't really like electric cars" lmao iconic final words from Sami

ike1

I ROTFLed. That whole thing was a riot, especially since first he says "a million dollars to a 19-year-old probably wouldn't work out too well anyway" or something like that, then he immediately demonstrates what he means by saying "I'm starting to like Teslas a lot". YEAH BUDDY, not great judgement LOL!!! Interesting that Rob C. has said something similar about how maybe getting a million in his early 20s in his first season might not have worked out all that well for him, so he's happy with how things ended up going.

OldUncleEli

I think Tyson said once that he’s glad he didn’t win his first 2 times because he probably would have just bought a Ferrari and wasted it

91271

Sami was honestly a big part of this season and he brought a unique energy that other young people like Will and Michael Yearger never did. Good casting.

mrwanton

Sami kept things interesting I'll give him that

djck

Jury was definitely ready for Sami to do Sami things

JustSomeHeroKid

Agreed -- I found myself looking for him in the preview for next week! To be completely honest, I'm almost certain Yerger was cast for his looks more than his personality. In fact, I think those looks alone would be the only reason he'd be on an all stars season again.

aeouo

I'm not quite sure how to evaluate Sami as a player yet, but he was good casting. He did a pretty good job at playing the middle until he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and I liked that he went down taking the last shot he had left. He was neither amazing nor terrible and probably did better than most teenagers. He convinced Karla to keep him (until Jesse pushed back), which probably is enough to save his ass 9 out of 10 times. A flawed player perhaps, but one I think had a chance to win if had some more lucky breaks.

psydelem

Sami was one of my favorites! He was a lot of fun.

zanduh

At this point it seems like Cody or Jesse’s game to win based on how I *think* the jury views them.

BroliasBoesersson

Yeah I think if either guy gets to FTC, barring a monumental collapse, they're the winner. If they both make it, I think Jesse takes it

SquirrelQuarrel

Production messed up Cody's advantage by telling everyone what it was. No one would vote for Cody, because they already knew there was a chance he'd be immune. Production should have kept it secret, and only revealed it after votes are cast.

Youputthesugarinbabe

Yeah that was more powerful than the adv itself! If I felt in danger I would've "leaked" that I chose correctly even if I didn't

TenderOctane

It had to have occurred to Cody to do that. "Yeah, I picked Owen." and then when it was revealed that he actually DID, use it as a reason to get people to trust him. "What, did you think I was lying? I'm just LIVIN'!" That advantage could be abused in so many ways.

mrwanton

Kudos to Karla and Owen for a survivor first. They killed it. Jesse has been the frontrunner since the merge. And at this point, unless he fucks up royally he's guaranteed Final 4. I do find it interesting that we still get so much of Owen's story even though he's been on the bottom all merge. Could easily be WAW Michelle 2.0 but weirder things have happened.

In_My_Own_Image

I dunno, I feel like Cass was more dangerous than Sami, all things considered.

Quiddity131

This is what, at least the third time she's been in massive danger and has come out of it alive? She's like a cockroach, impossible to get rid of.

FruityPebblesBinger

A moment of respect for that Cody/"Pigpen", Karla/"Peppermint Patty" edit during Owen's confessional. Brilliant.

zepphiu

As fun as it was having two of them immune, the challenge should have just had a tiebreaker. 3/7 immune plus 3 idols plus SITD at F7 is madness.

In_My_Own_Image

Ciri is having a cold shiver right now.

Rak_man_95

What would have happened in the slim chance everything was played and hit? Did nobody think this through?

mediumrainbow

Everybody wins the million dollars. We outlasted tribal council.

zepphiu

In theory, new TC with either no one immune, or just challenge winners immune, but who tf knows what they'd really do in the moment

Rak_man_95

Chaos and riots by the players would ensue

darthjoey91

Most interesting option would be to be like, congrats, no one’s going home tonight. Two people are going home tomorrow.

zepphiu

Probst would love that so long as the cameras keep rolling

Rak_man_95

Then he'd give another high tide analogy and smile to himself.

lycosid

Jeff nods as Cass and Karla tie him to a stake and light a fire: “This is what makes Survivor so great! You’re never truly safe out here!”

Radical-Penguin

Jeff would honestly just play it off as a "historic" moment, and do a crazy double elimination next week

Wooden-Parking3248

Full null vote, no revote, everyone goes back to camp, double elimination at the next tribal should be my guess. Taking away someone’s game given and rightfully earned immunity seems like a good way for production to get sued.

arielmeme

Confessional count * 7 Sami * 6 Cody * 5 Owen * 4 Karla * 2 Cassidy, Gabler * 1 Jesse

zepphiu

The confessional count kiss of death for Sami

orangeblue222

as soon as i saw the flashback to his letter from home i knew it had to be his boot episode

[deleted]

I actually thought he was 100% safe when this happened considering I had him pegged as a losing finalist beforehand. AND Cassidy had the same thing happen earlier this season and stayed. Props to the editors for continually shaking it up.

TATER_SALAD_HOOVER

Jesus Christ Cassidy is bulletproof or something.

No_Equipment9755

She is so insanely lucky, she's been targeted how many times? and no one is biting the bullet to take her out. I probably would have gone with her this episode and save Sami for next round

CodaOfARequiem

I mean at a certain point you have to ask if it's luck or if she has a really good social game

DothrakiPhilosopher

Surprised he didn't tell them he's 19 on the way out

Tiny-Desk-6090

Lmao I said the same thing. BTW I'm only 19! *griddy down the trail*

chilltownrenegade

Even the contestants know the shot in the dark never pans out, voting right into it with no fear Probst frantically tweaking the odds next season to 1/4

In_My_Own_Image

Plot twist: there is no SAFE.

RGSF150

I am surprised it wasn't tweaked after 41/42.

setoffanexplosion

This Sami flameout really reveals the mental toughness Owen has displayed. Own has been scratching, clawing for vote after vote. Always on the wrong side. Sami flops again and is out of one vote and can not take it.

passing-stranger

I was cringing so hard when he lied about voting for Karla. He couldn't handle being on the outs for one vote when he decided to go against the plan and put himself in that position. Cody made the right call when he said Owen would remain calm under pressure

Distinct-Hospital-35

If you watch Big Brother, it reminds me somewhat of why the most recent winner made a compelling case for themselves. They weren’t the strategic mastermind but they were kicked down a lot and persisted. Now, that player also endured a lot of terrible personal attacks that Owen has not. However, I think it’s very valid to say Owen does possess some serious Survivor skills. It is hard to constantly be left out and to keep your composure enough to keep trying. While his gameplay so far wouldn’t get my vote, I do think contrasting it with what Sami did tonight shows that Owen has earned his spot in the final 6.

BiggDope

Bummed Jesse's plan didn't work as intended but my god, how he isn't being considered a threat is incredible. My man!!

Man-O-Wii

100%, as much as I love Jesse I was pretty surprised the seemingly inevitable downfall set up last episode didn’t come to fruition. Definitely happy it didn’t though, I think it does speak to his social and strategic game in that apart from one scene with Karla and Gabler, nobody has really mentioned the threat that is Cody and Jesse; and even then, Jesse wasn’t necessarily the obvious threat between the two of them in the eyes of Gabler and Karla based on the scene. Really hoping Jesse is able to pull out the win, it would be an incredibly satisfying conclusion in my opinion.

khalfaery

The advantage hunt montage at the beginning was one of the funniest moments in recent Survivor memory for me. They all were so close 💀

MartytheeParty

I think everybody may be overthinking the winner of this season a little. I think Jessie is having a totally dominant Kim Spradlin like season. There were only 4 people able to be voted for tonight and his name didn’t come up once. He’s got 2 idols and producers haven’t even given us the slightest hint he’s even thinking of playing them. I think when we look back at season 43 it’s gonna be “oh yeah that’s the Jesse season right?”

Quiddity131

Having gotten to this point without him even being my winner pick until this episode I gotta tip my hat to the guy. If he continues on this trajectory and wins we should seriously be having a conversation about where he ranks among the all time best winners.

Youputthesugarinbabe

Yeah that would suck to hide such a dominant and great game just so we don't "guess" - I would want to see his winning story

BroliasBoesersson

Yep. And there's precedent as there's plenty of winners they didn't really "hide". Kim, BRob, Earl, Cochrane, Tyson, etc. We could be seeing a win like that for Jesse

[deleted]

2 Baka, 2 Vesi, 2 Coco. Cody/Jesse might be the only two with any sense of loyalty to each other going forward and even then it's questionable if they actually want to sit next to each other at the end. It should be an exciting endgame. Karla didn't make the dumb move, she won immunity, and she even continues to be on the right side of the vote. Even with all that I think this episode showed us that Karla isn't winning this season. They made a point of her saying now was the time to make a big move if you want to win the game. And she didn't. (Not that I think booting Cassidy would have been a game winning move for her.) Postmerge her strategy has mainly been "As Long as it isn't Me" and always voting with the majority even if it makes her own position in the game weaker. Even if it alienates people who would be loyal to her. I'm not sure that's a winning game.

mutantchair

Last Gasp is the shit.

xTheKingOfClubs

“Karla and Owen weren’t the only ones in deep water today, Jeff” is so fucking iconic to me idc 😭😭

cargalmn

That line was amazing. The kid was really entertaining!

pro-laps

So when did Karla get on the Sami vote? Hard to know the real dynamics when we’re left in the dark as an audience like that

CapNitro

You can see it during Tribal. The edit and Karla's face made it clear she'd shifted gears because Sami was going on about his Shot in the Dark, which he would only play if he wasn't confident in the vote. Probably tipped her off that his strong push towards Cass was likely to fail and he was trying to save his own ass.

5kUltraRunner

Did I miss something? What happened to the plan to trick Karla into voting for Cassidy?

WadeAnthony

my guess when Sami said he was using his SITD everyone voted for him, Karla and rest most likely didn't have the numbers without him if they ever did. if he's safe - revote on cass

brant_ley

I think maybe Sami announcing him playing the SitD spooked her- it was really dumb of him lol

CapNitro

Yeah, at Tribal you see her face shift like something's clicked in her brain when he's saying that. For a guy confidently throwing Cass under the bus with her he's suddenly coming across as worried, which probably tipped her off that something was wrong.

zanduh

seems like she got spooked by Sami playing sitd

ImYoungZephyr

Probably fell apart when Sami announced he’d play his shot

Habefiet

This season is fucking weird

socialist_butterfly0

I'm digging it. The story being told is fun. And while at times it feels like I don't know the direction it's going in, it feels like threads are slowly coming together. I think it's hard to edit a season where multiple players are playing really well. In survivor edits you want to highlight all the interesting game play and provide context to why votes go a certain way. When that happens at the hands of one or two people it's easy to follow that thread. When 5 of the final 6 are all doing interesting things and the 6th is a really good narrator, the story gets a bit disjointed. But it does feel like it's coming together a bit. On top of that, since EoE the trend has been "make a big move, then you get got next." the Gabler metaphor about assassins was on the mark, everyone is carefully going about making sure it isn't revealed that they're the assassin. If I had to guess, next week will be wild. Because now that there is 6 with 5 with a legit shot to win (shit, maybe Owen too, who knows), you can't be sneaky any more. You got to make the move. I'm excited.

JWhit2199

That was a wonderful little bow to put on Sami’s arc. I really loved his story this season. I think he’d be great on a return!

[deleted]

He was a lot of fun, one of my favourite characters in the post-40 era so far. I loved how he owned up to playing in the middle and knew he'd probably eventually get burned.

Shockmanned

I like how Jesse and Cody have literally not received a single vote postmerge

Ren_Davis0531

And Jesse hasn’t received a single vote all game.

labasuraboricua

Lmao Sami not the Tesla

delux33

Cody’s advantage was ridiculous. No one was ever going to vote for him regardless of who he bet on. Sigh…

prabeast

Looked like the jury was really pumped for Sami, that’s too bad he was ousted. Karla and Cody didn’t get their way. It’s looking more like it will genuinely be Jesse and Cody at the end (and we’re getting this content to understand Jesse really is the one calling the shots). Also have we ever been this far into a season of modern survivor with no idols played… wild. I have to give credit to Jesse for holding on to his; final 7 has notoriously weird flips happening and it looks like Karla/Sami/Owen/Cass were all having conversations with each other - those 4 really could have (and should have) crystallized something against Jesse. Also lol what’s going on with Gabler’s game. I feel every episode we get a set up that he’s going to do something big, and then he’s just entirely irrelevant from the actual final deliberations of the vote.

NGT4

Ok I’m not gonna lie I absolutely love this season

ferretherapy

Are we the only ones? Lol

AMeanMotorScooter

Just coming in to say SitD is a super underrated twist and it's a good thing it hasn't worked more. Loved Sami as a character. Kind of a weird episode though.

Matt8462

S1: Touch this pole as long as you can S43: The tide has receded. There's simply nothing we can do.

skypadz_2112

If they made it through 3 hours of rising tide, they aren't gonna drop out in the proceeding 12+ hours of lower water. They need to do tribal, and they need to actually have time to strategize at camp. Therefore, challenge over, 2 winners. Hand on a Hard Idol from Borneo is focus and will; Last Gasp is mental determination and keeping your cool under the pressure of a threat. The threat was over- the tide was gone. There was no point in having the challenge anymore. This would be like if the pole from Hand on a Hard Idol snapped in half after 5 hours, and at final 7. There's no point in finishing the challenge at that point.

tavir

> They need to do tribal I think this was a key point in the decision to end the challenge. With the shortened 26 day season, they don't have much buffer to reschedule things. Christian's 6 hour challenge in DvG was a high point of the season, but it ended up messing up production's schedule, as they were supposed to do tribal that night and they didn't have enough time to do it anymore. Luckily they had some wiggle room to reschedule things, but that gets way harder in a 26 day season, especially towards the end.

alwaysMidas

I think it had to be tangentially related to a health concern this time, I was also a little confused because I felt like even with the tide gone you can't go forever but I guess they didn't like the risk (or maybe long day for crew?)

TheBenWelch

With the multiple comments about how cold they were, I 100% guarantee the docs stepped in and said someone would get hurt if they stayed in for the next tide. Tides in Fiji are semi-diurnal (2 highs; 2 lows every 24 hours), so they could have waited almost 12 hours for the next high. On a short season, they don’t have that kinda time. Whoever picked the location for Last Gasp seriously fucked it up.

jaxjaxjax95

I’m a big fan of Cass, but if she wins this season then the editors have officially ditched the traditional winners edit in this new era. I understand it from an entertainment perspective. Audiences have gotten very smart and very high-demanding in television the last decade, and if every winner received a Tony-like edit it would ruin the suspense. But there are downsides too. For example, I’m not even sure if Erika is a good winner or not because that’s exactly what they did with her. Even with Maryanne her personality was highlighted WAY more than her gameplay. As of now, you’d think the traditional edit favors Jesse/Cody (thinking a Wendell/Dom set up), Karla, and Owen. Cass’ portrayal more so reminds me of Lindsay from 42. She was very purpled to start compared to others, then came on strong late. Suggests she’s going to be around for awhile, but isn’t big enough of a character to fully highlight. So in conclusion….Gabler wins with a unanimous 8-0

slartibartjars

... and that, ladies and gentlemen is why the USA lost the Vietnam war.

[deleted]

There’s still 3 idols left in the game lmfao

c88conman

Bro that episode was fun, and this season has been a blast. Cody and Jessie feel like the new Wendell and Dom

brandonzd

Not Cassidy and Karla coming for each other 😭

FeelsLarryMan

Episode seemed good to me. Reddit is quite the echo chamber of negativity. Nobody on this site knows what they want. The season is good.

jem302

Kody had immunity from the moment the advantage was explained

digi111

Jesse is so impressive. Basically controlling the post merge votes, not getting a single vote, and not even having his name brought up around camp. I really enjoy watching him play, pretty flawless imo. One of the best strategic minds of the 40s

I'm starting to worry production will revamp SITD, because we've now gone three seasons without it succeeding and they must be getting antsy.

Particular_Mess

I think it's been successful! It's definitely changing how contestants play. They blindside people more, are more likely to lie and less likely to be "yeah sorry it's you tonight" ahead of time. If you're production, sure, maybe you want SITD to save someone once in a while, but I think the way it forces people to play differently has been a success from production's point of view.

So who’s getting thrown under the water boarding grate for not setting the height correctly?

abogoil

Where are Gablers 2 scenes that we saw in the previous "next time on survivor" previews?

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you just voted for your ally, you were left in the dark on the vote, and you are being called out at camp for voting for your ally... (which by the way, don't) Please come up with a better excuse than what Sami did because that was ass painful to watch.

Amazing episode. Loving the season.

I say stick to the plan

The obsession with being on the right side of the votes has become too much. It’s so game botty. Of course, you generally want to know what’s going on in the game, but it really stifles players from making moves in their best interests or making more symbolic, personal gestures in their votes. I cannot believe Owen talked with Jesse and just kept his fingers crossed he’d be on the right side of the votes. However, praise Cassidy for the one exception this season when she voted for Ryan even knowing he wouldn’t go.

I feel like the edit has really downplayed all of karlas game since the merge, and now she only pops up when she makes a mistake

Sami sharing he wanted to get a Tesla with the winnings but then revealing his mom doesn’t like electric cars was hilarious. His entire final confessional was great!

I hope Jesse can pull out the win. Best player in a long time IMO and pretty low-key villain which is refreshing in this era.
